The HD 201 earcup does not swivel, for a swivel earcup, see the HD 205-II.

Is there a big sound quality difference in HD 280's compared to $20 skullcandy dub?

I'm looking for good sounding closed headphones that are around $100, so would these be good for me? this is considering that the only other 'phones i've had are cheap skullcandy(which is starting to lack the sound quality that my young 14 yr old ears desire). I want nice isolation to drown out the rumbling sound of my school bus, and a very good sound comnpared to skullcandy dub

Use without battery

Hello,

I am down to buying either these PXC 450's, the Sennheiser HD 650, or the HD 600. I would prefer these for their noise cancellation. My question is, Without the battery, and using an ASUS Xonar Essence ST sound card, will I be able to run these headphones noice cancellation "properly" without the use of a battery. With the phones requiring 150/750 ohms (im assuming the 750 is without battery? Please correct me if im wrong) and the sound card amp being only 600 ohms will I not be experiencing everything these phones have to offer me. The reason the HD's are in consideration is because of their 300 ohms requirment which leaves room to spare for the sound card.

For your use, the PXC 450 is ideal. The HD 600 and HD 650 do not provide any isolation as they are open-aire headphones. The lower impedance PXC 450 are also a better match for your low output device.

These fit completely around the ear. Most find that they are spacious without being too big.

Would you recommend these for studio use?

I am interested in purchasing a gift for my boyfriend. He is an avid music fan, all genres. He also produces and records his own music primarily rap and hip-hop. Would this be an appropriate set of head phones..if not which ones would you suggest?

how do these headphones compare to ones such as beats on/over hear headset and bose?

i love to listen to music and am looking for some great headphones to make my music sound better. Several friends told me beats were good but the price is a big downside. one person told me about sennheisers HD headsets and said they are about as good as beats.

are they compatable for air travel services(ie music and in-flight movies)

Hello- Although we have travel-specific headphones, these are a great all-around choice because they block out ambient noise quite well and have rich, full sound quality which is ideal for music and movies.
