Why can't I get 1080p resolution?

Just got this yesterday and I can only get 480 resolution. How do I get up to 1080? Is there something in the tv menu to adjust or is it done through the cable box?

Thanks in advance!
You may need to change the settings of your cable box or DVD player. DVD players in particular will output a 480 signal. If you have an upconvert player, you can change it to 720p or 1080p to get a superior picture. If comparable settings are not available with your current cable box, you may need to consult your provider for further assistance.

HDMI DOESN'T WORK!

the hdmi input wont recognize my laptop or xbox
i can hook them up to my other tv but i don;t know whats wrong
do i have to change a setting on my dynex tv?
Most likely you will need to adjust the settings on your computer and Xbox. Try setting your computer to 800x600 at 60hz to begin. Once the computer desktop displays on the TV, you can adjust the settings to your taste. Set the Xbox output to 16:9 or wide. I hope this helps.

just bought new computer and this tv as the monitor. Can't seem to get the computer image to fill the screen

I have gone to the tv's picture settings and adjusted from wide to cinema and others. on the wide mode there is approximately 1/2" black screen all around the computer image. when I go to cinema, it fills the screen but the image is too zoomed in to get to the entire computer menus. I have also adjusted video card settings to no avail. I have it hooked up with HDMI cable. going to bring home vga cable tomorrow and see if that helps. I looked for monitor driver but can't seem to find one
Most often when this occurs, the computer's video card needs to be adjusted to a setting compatible with the TV. Try starting with 800x600 or 1366x768 at 60h. Once you have a suitable picture, you can make additional adjustments until you're satisfied with the resolution.

I have my hdtv hooked up to my pc it was working fine and suddenly it say I have no signal? My video card is fine please help

Here are some troubleshooting tips: ensure that your cables are firmly seated. Try using a new cable. Power your TV on first, then your computer. Make sure that your TV is set to the correct input source. I hope this helps.

Still reading '480.'

I connected my PS3/Blue-ray with a HDMI connector. The display on TV still reads '480i.' Is there a way to change the setting to 1080? Thank you.
The TV displays the signal it receives. You will need to change the video output settings on your PS3 to a compatible higher resolution.

Can the HDMI port on this TV be used to connect to the computers HDMI port to be used as a monitor?

We connected our Dynex 24" LCD LED TV to our new computer that has an HDMI port for the video/monitor connection. It cause the computer to crash, why would it do this?
You should be able to connect your computer via HDMI without issue. You may need to adjust your video card setting to be compatible with the TV. For example, adjust the screen resolution to 800x600 at 60hz to begin. You may wish to consult your computer's manufacturer for assistance if the crash behavior continues.

how can I restart the initial settings wizard?

Restoring your TV to factory defaults should give you the Setup Wizard the next time you turn on your TV. Also, all of the settings are available via the on screen menus.
