Keep your SoundLink Revolve or Revolve+ Bluetooth speaker charged and ready to go, with the SoundLink Revolve charging dock. It’s a convenient home base for your speaker, and you can play your music while it charges. Just plug the wall charger included with your speaker into the cradle. Available in Black.

Does what it claims

from Colorado Springs, CO
This product is pretty straight forward. It allows you to dock your SoundLink Revolve without having to plug a cable into the Revolve, itself. You align the conacts on the Revolve and the Cradle, and it'll start charging. Sometimes it can take a moment to rotate the Revolve to get the the contacts to touch, but aside from that small obstacle, it does pretty well. Worth the price point? Not sure, but now that I've had it for a while, it does allow me to be lazier with cable-fiddling, but also lets my SoundLink Revolve be charged and ready to go.
You can also play music while charging, which is certainly nice, but you don't need the Cradle in order to do that.
In the end, it's a decent product, but the price is steep for something that doesn't really add much functionality—it merely improves a minor annoyance. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Deep. Loud. And immersive, too. SoundLink Revolve+, the best-performing portable Bluetooth speaker from Bose, delivers true 360° sound for consistent, uniform coverage. Place it in the center of the room to give everyone the same experience. Or set it near a wall so sound radiates and reflects. This wireless speaker is durable, water-resistant and easy to grab and go - with a rechargeable battery that plays up to 16 hours.

Excellent build quality with subpar sound
on April 7, 2017
Posted by: Xephyroth
So you're looking for a quality Bluetooth speaker to take with you to a party, use outdoors, or simply jam in your listening space. Well, the Bose Revolve+ Soundlink Bluetooth speaker can certainly do all of those things, but can it do them well?
BUILD:
First off, the build quality is no less than what I expect from a Bose product. They definitely know how to balance durability, weight and aesthetic. The Revolve+ is a great example of this. It takes a minimalist, elegant approach to its design that doesn't make it look like it belong's to a teenager. Rather, I'd say anybody can enjoy the aesthetic of the Revolve+. The fact that it's water resistant is also great, as it should be safe it you splash it water. That being said, DO NOT submerge it in water—it's not water-proof. The included handle is also excellent, as I can comfortably carry it from one room to another, or even hang it up. Alternatively, I can set it up on a 1/4 -20 tripod mount.
FUNCTIONALITY:
The Revolve+ is very easy to use. You can pair it with multiple devices and switch between those devices at a press of a button like many of Bose's recent products. I can't confirm how many can be paired in memory, but if it's like other Bose products, you can have 8 stored in memory and 2 paired simultaneously. There's also a 3.5mm jack in the unit so you can connect devices via wire if you like. You can also use the device for phone calls if you like. The last interesting feature here is that you can get an optional charging cradle that will allow you to charge the Revolve+ by sitting the unit on top of the cradle. It works pretty well, and I haven't compared charging via standard microUSB versus the cradle, but I imagine that they're no different in speed since it uses metal contacts instead of qi wireless charging. It's a slightly more convenient, but for most, you're better off without it.
SOUND:
So here's where the Revolve+ falls short. This thing gets louder than my other Bluetooth speakers, but at a cost. From what I've observed, the Revolve+ has dynamic post-processing that essentially performs some equalization, compression, etc. What this results in is a sound signature that changes as the volume increases. At 50% volume, the clarity is acceptable, but as you start to get around 75%, you'll notice that songs that have a "hot" master and no dynamic range will be battling against themselves. The bass frequencies will sometimes cut through vocals, and sometimes the vocals will tear away at the bass. THE GOOD NEWS is that if the Revolve+ is anything like its other recent products, the Revolve+ should be capable of firmware updates, which could alleviate these issues. But overall, this product runs on the bassier/warmer side. If you listen to acoustic music or music without hot masters that are more "spacey", you may actually enjoy the Revolve+—but only if you enjoy more bass.
While I cannot currently give a recommendation for this product at the moment, Bose does listen to its customers; I believe the issues I have with the sound signature can potentially be alleviated through a firmware update.

Excellent cordless vacuum
on March 26, 2017
Posted by: Xephyroth
Before getting my hands on the Dyson V8 Animal, I was using a similarly-designed vacuum—only it wasn't cordless. Compared to the competition, the Dyson is lighter, has excellent suction power, and is exceptionally easy to clean.
With a full charge, I can nearly vacuum my whole house (2-story and basement) on the normal suction mode. That being said, I don't like to spend a whole lot of time vacuuming. That's what makes the V8 such a great option for me. I no longer have to deal with cables and tangling, or having to move from one outlet to another. You simply pull the trigger when you need to go, and let go when you need to stop. This gives me much more flexibility in also getting the most out of the battery, as I can simply let go of the trigger whenever its suction is unneeded.
It's very lightweight and comfortable to use—unlike the previous vacuum I had (which I didn't recommend for those with arthritis), this Dyson vacuum does a better job at suction, and doesn't rely more on the floor attachment's drag in order to catch dirt, dust, etc.
Swapping attachments is a very quick process, and the extension rod helps you reach higher places. I've found them to work quite well without any cleanup issues.
For someone like me who hates the hassles of corded vacuums, but needs to vacuum more regularly, the Dyson V8 tackles a lot of the issues that I have. Unfortunately, that does come at a price premium. But for me, this is the best lightweight cordless vacuum available at this time, and I'd much rather spend more and have a vacuum that lets me clean quickly and thoroughly than a vacuum that is much less mobile and agile like the Dyson V8.

Good signal, poor setup, buggy software.
on January 17, 2017
Posted by: Xephyroth
I'll start off by saying that I've owned far more routers than the average person. I've owned cheap routers and expensive routers. Generally, in my house, I run 1 primary router and 2 other routers as wireless access points (think range extender, except wired directly to my primary router for better speeds). So I came into this with a lot of experience dealing with routers.
The Velop's setup is easy, yet unfortunately time-consuming. Setting up 3 nodes takes what seems like forever compared to the traditional "router & access point" methodology that I've been using with some routers that are over 3 years old now. I would say it took me over an hour to setup—simply because the app has you do a lot of waiting.
I should first mention that the only way to set up the Velop is through the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app on iOS or Android. Those are your only options, as there is no web-based client. This choice indicates to me that this system is meant for the average user with a smartphone—not for someone who does a lot of tinkering to their network.
So first, you set up the main node router to your modem. What I found unintuitive was that *either* of the two gigabit ethernet ports on the bottom of the unit could act as the WAN port—then the other port would act as a LAN port for a device that you'd like to add to your home network. For someone like myself who knows how traditional routers work, this was quite confusing. Once you do a bunch of waiting while the router connects to your modem, you can set up additional nodes one by one.
During each phase of setting up a node, you do a bunch of waiting. In the case of the main node, you wait while it connects to your modem and does speed tests. In the case of setting up an additional node, you wait for it to connect to a nearby node in your mesh network and run speed tests to check for optimal performance.
In my case, I chose to set up the additional two nodes wirelessly. This resulted in worse performance compared to my usual wired setup (which I expected). Whereas I'd normally only lose at most 10% of my throughput, I was starting to lose 40% of my throughput.. When I wired up the additional nodes, I experience minor improvements, but I can't be sure that the system is working under a bridge mode, as the app indicates nothing.
So while I get less throughput, I do get better a better reception in my home. I will have to experiment more as updates are released.
That being said, if you're looking for advanced router features, this router doesn't have many. And the ones that it does have? It is a nightmare to change/modify features in the app. I can't say if this is an issue with the app or the hardware itself, but the device prioritization feature fails to work, the in-app speed test fails, and the list goes on. I constantly receive error messages.
Once you've got the Velop set up, you may not want to change settings, later on—otherwise, you may experience these same problems. And if the software wasn't enough, one of the nodes I received has a loose piece inside of the unit that you can hear bounce around. Talk about quality control.
At this price, I cannot recommend the Velop, as Linksys provides more affordable solutions with more features that actually work. The Velop feels like a product in early beta testing.

Another excellent blender from Ninja
on January 16, 2017
Posted by: Xephyroth
Before using this blender, I used a far simpler Ninja blender. I'm not sure of the model, but it seems to be analogous to the Ninja Master Prep style. That being said, this new Nutri Bowl Duo replaces my old blender without any hesitation.
A few things about this blender that I really appreciate:
- I don't need to hold a lid down on the blender to keep ingredients from spouting out the top. Because of the locking mechanism and the fact that the Ninja sticks to your kitchen counter, you can press a button and be hands-free to do other things while it blends your ingredients.
- The blades are able to cut through tougher ingredients without struggling.
- Smoothies actually come out incredibly smooth.
I like being able to use a timed mode, pulse mode, or the other presets. When I want to make a quick smoothie, being able to blend the ingredients then put a lid on top of the container is incredibly convenient. This means fewer dishes to wash, and increased ease-of-use.
While I usually make smoothies and protein shakes, I'm especially excited to use this more for chopping ingredients, making salads, and even making vegetable-based soups!

Great multi-shaver
on December 27, 2016
Posted by: Xephyroth
I had previously used Philips Norelco products before, and have been satisfied. This particular shaver has options for trimming facial hair, sideburns, nose hair, body hair—pretty much everything.
I usually trim my beard to 3mm, and I find that I'm still getting used to the beard comb, as you need to angle it just right to make sure the blade doesn't directly touch your skin (unless you're trying to remove your facial hair, entirely). A few times, I've goofed up and shaved my beard more than I wanted to, so I ended up going baby-faced for a little while.
The nose hair trimmer, I think needs some work. It doesn't seem as effective to me, even compared to lower-end Norelco models. But it isn't horrible. It just seems to take a bit more work and navigation to get a thorough trim.
The body shaver does a great job at trimming body hair (e.g. armpits, chest, etc.). Just be sure to be gentle! Philips recommends shaving slowly, but their turbo mode can definitely lend to fewer iterations across the same area. Either way, don't rush it.
Philips has better products for your under-regions, but you can get away with using this—just take my warning and be careful. Otherwise, you may cut yourself down there!
As for the wet/dry functionality, it is designed to work in the shower, if that's how you shave. Obviously, don't submerge it in a bath or something like that. But if you're going to get it splashed with water, that's totally fine. I personally shave while dry so that hair doesn't clump and stick to my skin.
As for battery life, it's been great! Other shavers I'm lucky to get 20 minutes out of—a few uses and I have to recharge. But this Norelco, I'm able to get more use out of one charge. I don't shave daily since I maintain a beard, so this lasts a lot longer for me.
Overall, a few setbacks, but still a great multi-use product.

A decent home voice assistant that needs some work
on November 15, 2016
Posted by: Xephyroth
Google Home has proven to be an interesting start to a very bright future. While not feature-complete compared to Google Assistant on smartphones, it is on the right path to becoming a great home assistant.
Some of the most popular features I like are:
- Controlling my Nest thermostat (e.g. "turn thermostat off", "turn on the heat", "set thermostat to 68 degrees")
- Setting an alarm (e.g. "wake me up at Monday through Friday at 6am")
- Playing music (e.g. "play Shelter by Porter Robinson")
- Changing volume (e.g. "set volume to 30%")
- Asking for traffic conditions (e.g. "how long will it take for me to get to work?")
- Asking for weather (e.g. "what is week's weather forecast?")
- Asking math questions (e.g. "what is 197 divided by 3?")
- Spawning YouTube on my Google Cast enabled devices (e.g. "play YouTube on Chromecast")
- Integration with Google Keep shopping list (e.g. "add chips to my shopping list", "what is my shopping list?")
- Asking for information (e.g. "who is the prime minister of Japan?", "how far is it from here to Mars?")
- Providing additional info related to your questions in the Google Home app
Some thing that need to be worked on:
- Setting reminders that integrate with your phone (e.g. "remind me to call mom tomorrow afternoon")
- Opening navigation directions on my phone when I ask for directions (e.g. "how do I get to work")
- Sending text messages (e.g. "send text to mom...I'm going to be late.")
- Making calls (e.g. "call mom's mobile phone")
That being said, do I feel that it's become a staple in my life? Absolutely not. But that's because Google Assistant on my phone is already incredibly powerful, and I don't have a full family that could really make use of Google Home. That being said, I absolutely see this becoming useful in the family room for parents and children, alike. Google Home is bringing the powerful search engine to your home, as well as allowing the Internet Of Things (IOT) to become a reality in your internet-connected home. The home is much smarter than it has ever been before.

Superb router for extending your wireless network.
on October 28, 2016
Posted by: Xephyroth
I've used several Linksys products in the past, so it was no surprise to me that this router would be an excellent addition to my home.
I have a two-story house that also has a basement (upper story, main floor, and basement). My cable modem and a separate router is in the basement, while most of my wireless devices are on upper floor. My house has ethernet set up from the basement all the way to the upper floor.
I've set this router up in bridge-mode so that It would rely on the same gateway and IP-address range that my primary router (in the basement) uses. As a result, I utilize the Linksys router as my primary Wi-Fi connection on the upper story. Had I used this in the basement, I wouldn't have been utilizing its wireless capabilities to its full potential.
Compared to the previous router I was using upstairs, this WRT-AC3200 delivers better signal strength and improved bandwidth to all my devices.
Additionally, the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app allows you to change settings and re-configure your router from anywhere. However, in bridged mode, you may not be able to use certain additional features like OpenVPN or the eSATA integration for network access to an external drive.
Nonetheless, this router has provided excellent connectivity and bandwidth for my wireless home.

Fastest Android yet, but with caveats.
on October 23, 2016
Posted by: Xephyroth
The Pixel is an excellent phone, but can it really hold its own against the plethora of other Android devices out on the market? With tons of other manufacturers using Google’s Android operating system, Android has become a platform for devices with different hardware, designs and features. The Pixel is Google’s first true opinionated take on Android, but it really isn’t much for bells and whistles.
BUILD QUALITY:
The Pixel has a solid build quality. The build is primarily aluminum, and other reviews have shown that Google stepped up the durability, as it holds up against bend tests very well. With a matte aluminum finish, it isn’t as slippery as much of the competition, and the glass panel on the back of the phone also helps improve grip if you leave your index finger mounted on the glass like I often do. Additionally, the edges are chamfered to improve grip on the device, so I don’t feel as though it will drop out of my hand at any moment. That being said, I’ve opted to use a case to prevent scratches, despite feeling more confident in its durability. The power and volume buttons are very tactile, and it didn’t take long to get used to their placement.
It’s been a few years since I’ve had a phone of this size, since I’ve generally opted for phones with larger 5.5”+ displays. That being said, I really do like how ergonomic and comfortable the Pixel is to hold in the hand. It’s great for one-handed use, but still has a screen large enough for plenty of content to be displayed. My only concern is how well the Pixel’s glass panel on the back will stand against more extreme climates (especially during the winter).
DISPLAY:
The Pixel sports a 5” 1080p AMOLED panel. Colors are vibrant and saturated—. It’s a beautiful display to look at. It’s not accurate like the panels on other flagship devices, but Google doesn’t seem to be going for that, here—at least not by default. After enabling sRGB mode in the Developer Options, the Pixel has an incredibly accurate display. Overall, it’s very enjoyable to look at, and this panel makes for a much more enjoyable video/photo viewing experience. That being said, if you’re interested in using the Pixel for VR, it’s important to note that it won’t be as crisp as the Pixel XL which sports a QuadHD display (1440x2560).
CAMERA:
The Pixel may be one of the best 12.3MP cameras I’ve used on a smartphone. It performs better in low-light than other smartphones that I’ve tested. Photos are captured incredibly quickly—faster than any other phone I’ve owned on any platform. Photos come out sharp, detailed, and vibrant. But because there is no optical image stabilization, sometimes photos can come out blurry if you or your subject is shaky. Video looks great in 4K, and the software video stabilization ensures that videos come out smooth. The slow-mo is also a great feature, but is best used in good lighting conditions. If you’re familiar with the Google Camera app, not much needs to be said, as most of these features are available on the last release of Nexus devices. Either way, the sensor and post-processing seems to have improved quite a bit, and it certainly shows in the results. The front-facing camera is an 8MP camera, and while it doesn’t have all the abilities the rear camera has, it definitely succeeds in delivering high-quality selfies.
SOUND:
Good and bad here. The good news is that Google included the 3.5mm headphone jack, and it is able to provide decent amplification for even a set of my more efficient planar magnetic headphones (30 ohms, 102dB/1mW). Volume maxed out, these headphones are at a comfortable listening level. Using more efficient headphones, the integrated amplifier provides plenty of power, so volume can reach past levels of comfortable listening. That being said, there’s nothing exemplary about the sound, here. It’s simply a minor improvement over previous iterations of Google’s smartphone offerings.
The bad news, however, is that there are no front-facing stereo speakers. This seems like a step back for Google, as the Nexus 6P had excellent front-facing stereo speakers. The sound quality is “meh” through the speakers on the Pixel. Watching videos on the Pixel doesn’t offer a complimenting aural experience. It’s less immersive, and even hearing my custom ringtone is not as enjoyable, as a result. Given that I watch videos on my phone fairly frequently, this is a disappointing aspect of the Pixel’s design. With a bit more time, it’s possible that they could have integrated IP67 water resistance and stereo speakers—an actual feature of another 2016 flagship phone.
BATTERY:
With the limited time I’ve had with the phone, the battery life has been surprisingly good compared to other Android devices I’ve owned. I won’t go into all of my settings and all the apps that I use, but as somebody who knows more of the ins and outs of Android, I was able to get 3 hrs 47 mins of screen-on time and 38% battery left with Wi-Fi off, Bluetooth on, and cellular data enabled. If this was a linear drain, that would amount to a projected 6hrs of screen-on time. I’m currently averaging 4hrs 18mins of screen-on time, but it’s important to know that these numbers aren’t indicative of a drain from 100% to 0%, so this could be higher. In terms of charging time, I haven’t tested Google’s claims of 7hrs of battery after a 15min charge, but this phone does charge quickly with its included 18W adapter.
SOFTWARE:
The Pixel’s software experience has been lovely. Due to the improved internal hardware and software optimizations, the Pixel is the fastest Android phone I’ve used. How that will hold up over time—we will have to wait and see. But nonetheless, the software is very responsive.
Google Assistant is one of the highlighting features of the Pixel phone. It essentially replaces Google Now, and for most circumstances, will do a better job answering your questions or performing tasks. I use Google Assistant when I am driving, when I need to reply or send a message hands-free, or inquire about weather and other miscellaneous information. The list goes on. Thus far, I haven’t found it to be substantially better than Google Now on previous Android phones, but it’s contextual awareness is what makes it so much more useful. Gone are the days of having to repeat the context in order to get my question answered.
The new Night Light mode is also great, as it reduces the blue hue in the display, and displays a more halogen hue to prevent eye strain and headaches. As a result, using your phone before sleep won’t cause headaches.
OVERALL:
There is still more that can be said about the Pixel, and improvements to the software will undoubtedly make this phone better even weeks from now. But if you’re looking for an excellent, no-frills Android experience with the most responsive software and ease-of-use, then the Pixel is the phone may be right for you. Made by google—for everybody.

Powerful and maneuverable, but not for everybody
on October 16, 2016
Posted by: Xephyroth
The Shark Rocket Complete Upright Vacuum is a decent performing vacuum with a few caveats.
What I like about this vacuum is that it’s narrow and swivels around corners, making it very easy to reach spots that were not possible to reach before without moving furniture or having to resituate the vacuum in a very odd position. For example, turning around corners or navigating between chair legs is much easier with this vacuum. However, due to its narrow composition, it doesn’t cover as much surface area. That being said, the DuoClean certainly reduces the number of redundant sweeps across the same surface. That’s because this vacuum uses both a bristle brush and a felt brush to help pick up both hair and dust. I have found it to be quite effective.
This vacuum also doubles as an above-floor vacuum for those hard-to-reach places—such as ceiling corners, upholstery, dusty shelves, etc. While I’ve only tested some of this functionality, the vacuum did not displease me.
One thing to notice is that this vacuum is top-heavy. That means that it will fall over unless you have it hanging up or have it leaning against something. Additionally, the amount of drag this vacuum has is substantially more than any other vacuum I’ve used. Which means that since you’ll likely be pulling back towards yourself when you use this vacuum, the vacuum does provide resistance and a bit of arm arm/wrist workout. If you have arthritis or are susceptible to carpel tunnel, I wouldn’t necessarily advise this vacuum, as you’ll be rotating your wrist quite a bit to swivel floor unit, and you’ll be holding a fairly top-heavy unit. Needless to say, it’s not exactly easy on your arm compared to more traditional vacuums that are bottom-heavy.
The cleanup process is also quite easy, as you can release the dirt and dust from a small chamber with the press of a button. Both floor-unit brushes can be ejected from the unit with a few buttons, as well. Shark provides a hair-removal tool (i.e. plastic blade) to remove hair from the bristle brush. This part is practically ingenious, as there is a groove across the brush where you can slide the hair-removal tool. It cuts the hair from the brush, and makes cleanup a lot easier than traditional brushes. I found that the plastic tool allowed me to collect the hair, and I used a real blade to cut it, as the plastic tool was not as effective.
Overall, a quality product from Shark.

Has anyone successfully installed Ubuntu 16.04 LTS?

I have not, but that doesn't even matter because a quick google search of Ubuntu Certified Hardware shows that this model has officially been awarded the status of certified pre-install for Ubuntu. Which means Dell can sell it with Ubuntu pre-installed, and you can just as easily install it.

Complete your HT-Z9F surround system with this Sony rear speaker. Place it on a stand or shelf, or mount it to your wall for unobtrusive performance, and connect to other components wirelessly to keep unsightly cables out of your space. This Sony rear speaker's S-Master amp outputs 50W for powerful rear audio.

What is the length of the power cord for each speaker...do they use a cord or a wall wart?

These are wireless. They communicate wirelessly with the HT-Z9F soundbar. They only require power from your standard 2-prong wall outlet.

Hello, Is it sim free version? If it is not, will it be available to preorder?

Like all Verizon smartphones, this phone is unlocked. Luckily, Google has built in all the radio bands into this phone to allow it to be used on any carrier with proper LTE support—something that most Verizon-branded phones don't do. It is the same hardware in-and-out as the devices being sold on the Google Store. The only difference is that this Verizon version comes with a few Verizon apps (which can be uninstalled) and it also has a locked bootloader. That means that you cannot currently install custom ROMs or "root" your device. This device WILL work on other carriers, and I've tried it with only success.
