Super Tablet that Satisfies

This is another one of those products that if you see it in stock you had best just grab it while you can. The Nexus 7 has already established a reputation as an outstanding tablet, quick, powerful, very good battery life, crisp clear screen quality, but this new model takes it to the next level. My only modest complaint is the price. I do wish it would drop just a bit but is nevertheless quite worth the investment. If you are looking for an android device that will handle every application from games to productivity, you have found it in the Nexus 7. I have not yet found the case for this product but am certain it is soon to follow. Step up to this new model and I am certain you will not be disappointed. Oh, I do recommend the 32gb because you can never have too much storage space.

You are a reader and when you pick up a book, you do not want to be distracted by email arrival chimes, game updates, or any such thing - you just want to read a book undisturbed. If that is you, the Nook Simple Touch may be just what you are seeking. This Nook will not let you check your email, view YouTube videos, or play Angry Birds. The kids will not beg you to let them play with it. It is all about one thing, and only one thing - reading books. It has a battery life in the neighborhood of a month and a clear, crisp screen. It has no color, just like the pages of a real novel. It has no backlight, just like a real book. If you want to read at night, you will have to sit in a well-lit room or under a lamp. It is perfect for outside reading too. On this device you can store hundreds of books, books which are also kept safely for you in the Barnes and Noble cloud. This means that if your Nook is ever broken or lost, you can put all of your books on another one without losing a single page. In a WiFi environment, you can buy books and have them ready to read in only seconds. The price of these ebooks is generally several dollars less than the paper counterparts. Did I fail to mention that you can adjust the type size so reading is easy for anyone. I highly recommend the Nook Simple Touch for the person who wants to read novels, reference books, you name it. At this price you cannot go wrong. Also remember that Best Buy has a return policy that allows you to take the product back for a full refund if you are not satisfied with it. Give it a go and I bet you will love it.

Nice, Compact, Well Built

I recently received my Stanton - DJ CD Player with MP3 Playback and am quite pleased. Let me begin by saying it is a rugged unit with a wealth of features. If you are just experimenting with DJing it is a great tool for learning. In all sincerity, if you wish to use this professionally, I would say that you are going to need two of these units, linked together, or buy the Stanton that already has dual platters. I like the sound quality and the sheer fun of using it to play music for myself and friends. It is small and portable, but does require an electric outlet -- I wish there was a battery or USB option but it probably just requires too much juice for that. It could a also use a proper dock for an iPod and an input port for a standard stereo cable. If does have sufficient input and output jacks if you have the proper cables and adaptors. I do not mean to characterize it as a toy, in that it is a serious instrument, with a serious price tag. With a CD player and two USB inputs, you will be able to connect a sufficient amount of storage devices to allow access to all of your music. I find that it has an very satisfactory processing speed, being able to read your jump drives very quickly. In short, if you are looking for a single-platter to add to an existing system or to use for yourself, your friends, and light DJing, it is a very capable unit.

I have enjoyed writing, playing, and listening to music for many years. It has always been an important part of my life. Since my musical tastes are not always the same as everyone else in the house, I find it impossible to crank up the speakers and really enjoy the tunes. I made a decision to go out and buy the best sounding earphones that I could find so I could crank up the music and truly hear everything. When I put on the Beats Pro, I knew I had found my answer. The price was a bit high, but cheaper than an amp, speakers, tuner, etc., which I cannot fully enjoy anyway. These are the answer for the true music lover who wants studio quality in privacy. The sound reproduction is very impressive, and although I do not know the frequency ranges and so forth for these headphones, let's just say it is like hearing music for the first time. I am not a DJ, but with these phones, I feel ready to do a little scratching! Super product, and even with the sticker-shock price tag, I am delighted with the headphones - not to mention the looks and attention this sweet headset gets. I highly recommend. You only live once so why miss half of the music.

Difficult to Beat this for the Price

After researching this product and consulting with a professional DJ friend of mine, who uses this model much of the time, my choice was actually quite easy. At first blush I was impressed by the feel of the machine. Quite obviously some serious engineering went into making it have the feel of a dual turn-table unit. The next observation was the many modes of input afforded by the Stanton Digital DJ Mixstation. Thirdly, I was impressed by the intuitive operation. Not only does the mixstation allow the DJ to create and even record mixes for later burning to a CD of other means of transfer, but it also has an auto-pilot mode that comes in great when the DJ needs a brief break. Since no computer is needed, setup can be accomplished in literally 60 seconds or less. A computer can be brought alone and songs transferred quickly from the computer to the mixstation with a simple jumpdrive. Since the device supports multiple modes of input from a hard drive to any other USB device, accessing a vast library of music is a breeze. Overall, I am impressed with the unit and delighted that I followed the advice of my friend and took the leap to the Stanton. With BestBuy's liberal return policy, it is a no-brainer to give this unit a try. Whether for professional use or just to entertain yourself and your friends, this unit will not disappoint.

An Excellent Camera and So Much More!

On a recent trip to London I first saw this camera and was intrigued. The price, in pounds, was a bit outrageous. I returned to the States, headed to Best Buy and found this very reasonably-priced impressive camera in stock. First, the camera itself has a 21X optical (not digital) zoom. This means that you are actually zooming optically, rather than simply digitally cropping the image. Aside from this fantastic lens, the camera has not only simple automatic settings but a wide range of manual ones which put it at a professional level in my estimation. Having been a professional photographer, I am very picky about my cameras and this one passes all my scrutiny with flying colors. Note that the camera also shoots video at amazing quality. With the addition of a 32GB micro SD card, you can shoot till you drop. Now, given that this is am amazing 16.3-Megapixel camera, add to that Android OS with the ability to connect to WiFi, download and run apps, and yes, upload photos directly from the camera to any number of photo services from Picasa to Instagram and everything in between. The huge display on the back of the camera makes running any apps, such as photo editing ones, a snap. You must read more about the camera's features and view the promo videos to get a true taste of this camera's capabilities. I can now shoot, with a multitude of options, edit the photos with photo-editing apps, and send it right along by email, or to any photo service. This unit will far exceed your expectations as you continue to discover more and more it can do. I highly recommend.

What's not so great: It is just a bit bulky

Inexpensive Android Device

I must preface this review by stating that I think a $59 android device with a touch screen is amazing in itself. You must also realize that for that price you should not be expecting a Samsung Note. I have found the device acceptable for checking my email, listening to MP3s, and playing an android game or two - such as Angry Birds. Many of my android apps simply will not run on this device so do not expect every app to perform on the Trio. If you want a little MP3 / Angry Bird player with photo and video capabilities for your child, or a little backup device for yourself to check the mail and peek at the internet or even watch a You Tube video, you may be satisfied. If you are looking for a powerful android device, you should look elsewhere, and expect to pay considerably more. I love gadgets and find it a fun device but would hate to ever rely on it as my primary unit. My suggestion is that if you are interested, buy it, try it, and return it if it does not meet your needs.

This keyboard is an excellent addition for your Samsung ATIV PC Tablet. It is quite easy to attach (after removing the two snap-in plugs on the bottom of the tablet. It is also easy to remove - requiring the push of only one button. It is rugged and well built, yet still slim enough so that your tablet will still probably fit in that case you already are using. One problem with most keyboards that attach to tablets is once you attach it, you never want to go to the trouble to detach it and now you have an ultrabook of sorts. With this keyboard, that should not happen since with the touch of one button, your table is undocked and you are free-wheeling Bob once more. Very nice, high quality keyboard that is ready when you need to do some serious typing and ready to detach when you want your tablet back. Nice product!

SUPER PC TABLET AT THIS PRICE

Sure, there are more powerful PC tablets, but for this price, I am delighted. I connected an external CD/DVD player to it to load software and am now running ACID PRO and DREAMWEAVER, to name a couple. I am delighted by the machine, the responsiveness, the overall quality. I am a power user so I do understand the limitations of this device but given the limited internal storage, and the fact that the OS resides there taking some of it, it is a super machine for loading a few major applications and being productive wherever you find yourself. I recently added the keyboard for those times when I need to type - like now. Overall, I am quite pleased. No, it is not a thousand dollar Windows Pro but it will get the job done when you treat it as a tablet PC, not your main computer. Hats off to Samsung for this little beauty.

If you already have Apple TV or a similar little black box for playing Netflix, etc. etc. then you are going to wish you had gotten this one instead. Not only does it let you play all of the standard streaming services through your TV but this little unit has one extra feature that sets it head and shoulders above the rest - a USB input. This means that you can connect a hard drive, thumb drive, etc. to it and view your ripped movies or photos or music from it. I have a 1TB pocket sized HD that is full of movies that I have connected to this box. It means that the kids can watch any of our DVD collection from the little HD without the need for finding the DVDs and putting them in a DVD player. Basically, anything that sends out an audio or video signal and connects with a USB port can be played through this box. I also use the box for streaming my SlingBox to my TVs in my office at work. That saves one extra cable TV bill. It is an all-around excellent device and the longer you have it the more uses you will find for it. I am delighted with it.

I imagine that a Microsoft store could help you with that but a simpler solution may be to pick up a book for beginners explaining the Surface Pro. There are some wonderful ones out there for those just getting started. Good success with your new computer. I have that model also and have very much enjoyed it.

What to buy
What would you suggest buying a samsunf 2014 or a surface. My husbaand is on the computer alot watchin videos and amoazon along with a few others
I would compare the battery life of the two units you are considering. Since he likes to watch a lot of videos, the one with longer battery life may be the one for him. All the best!

Can the nook get used by a 6 year old for reading and learning purposes?
Books appropriate for all ages are available through B&N. If you want color and sound, as many children's books may offer, you should consider a color Nook, such as the Nook HD or HD+. Get a good protective case in case the child drops the device.

Yes. You will have to get the ebook in a format that Nook can read. Loading books into the Nook that are not from B&N is not a complicated task. Do a Google search and you will find many sites that explain the process, step by step.

Do all Barnes & Nobles Ebooks work on the simple touch?
Barnes & Nobles has thousands and thousands of ebooks and I would doubt that every single one will work. For example, the device would not be suitable for books where color is necessary or important to enjoy the book. Novels, history books, etc. will work just fine. I personally have yet to find a book that will not work on the Nook Simple Touch and I have literally hundreds of books.

how can u only dowload books and other media without unlimited access to internet
.I don't want middle school child to have access to internet.
You need to be somewhere where WiFi is available - such as a Barnes and Noble store, a McDonalds, a Starbucks and thousands of other locations. You can also use the WiFi in your home if you have it. There is no charge for downloading books to the Nook through WiFi.

Is This Just For Books ?
Will this work as a stand alone TABLET, without any of the book stuff ?
Most of the devices in this genre can be "rooted" and used as an android device. I am not sure about the Nook Simple Touch specifically, but out of the box it is a reader. It is not capable of playing games like Angry Birds. It is a monochrome screen so you would probably prefer a color device if you wish to play games too.

DOES IT TALK the books ?
Id like to have it READ BOOKS to me while I drive, etc,,,, Can it read the books, or is there a APP Download ?
The Nook Simple Touch cannot read a book audibly. The Nook HD and HD+ can, but the best voice I have found in a reader comes with the Kindle HD. It is not a robotic voice. Stop by Best Buy and listen to the different readers and you decide what you prefer.
