A nice gaming keyboard but not great

Logitech - G513 GX Red Carbon Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard with RGB Backlighting - Gray
I wanted to like the Logitech G513 since I have had great luck over the years with most every Logitech product I have ever owned. And there is a lot to like with the G513. It’s aluminum build quality is very good and is quite good looking. The weight keeps it in place during gaming and I do like the GX mechanical red keys. They are not as quiet as some other Cherry Red mechanical keys I have reviewed but there very smooth and a pleasure for both gaming and everyday office use. Also the Logitech G Hub software is very easy to use and syncs very well with other Logitech products you might have. The RGB lighting is done very well and looks great with plenty of default and custom lighting options. I also like the addition of the removal keys that are included. They have an indentation so there easy to find from the other keys when gaming. But there are some design choices here that keep me from giving the G513 my highest rating. I have other Logitech RBG keyboards that get by with one USB connection. Since the G513 has a USB passthrough it has the dreaded heavy USB braided cable that requires two USB ports for full functionality. I personally don’t need this additional port but if you do then that’s pretty much what is needed. Logitech is famous for their energy efficient keyboards and mice so if they could have given me the passthrough without the heavy cable and need for the extra port that would have been very impressive. Also there are no dedicated media keys which is very unusual for a keyboard at this price point. Finally the wrist pad is very nice but if you don’t want to use it, the front of the keyboard is almost sharp. It fits fine even though its not actually connected but I find there are times wrist pads can cause fatigue so it’s nice to use them but also nice to remove them from time to time. Typing without the wrist pad is just not comfortable. If your a Logitech fan you might overlook these few minor issues but if your not committed to the Logitech universe there are more choices for RGB mechanical gaming keyboards than ever before and it seems more each day.

A modern well equipped desktop computer

Dell - Inspiron 23.8" Touch-Screen All-In-One - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Silver
My wife is a big fan of All-In-One computers. On several occasions I have tried to get her to go with a more conventional desktop or notebook but this is the format she likes. Her current All-In-One has become dated over the years, so the timing of this Dell was perfect. She has been doing a lot of video editing lately and her older computer was struggling. Well that’s not a problem with this Dell. With the 10th generation Intel i7 and M.2 SSD drive this computer is very fast. She went from a dual core processor to the new Intel i7 that has four cores with hyperthreading. A big upgrade from her three year old Intel i5. One nice change on this computer is the stand is open on the bottom which frees up desk space. This is a welcome addition since her desk has a hutch so desk space is a premium. With a very new Intel chip comes with some nice features such as a very nice selection of USB ports including the USB Type C. The wireless keyboard and mouse are really just of average quality that maybe just fine for most users but Dell could have done a little better. For the most part Dell has equipped this model very well. With the fast SSD, the most up to date USB ports, 16GBs of ram, SD Card reader and a nice sound bar. Although I was not impressed with the display. Its fine but not up to the other specifications you get. It’s not bad, it just doesn’t have the color pop that most people like, it's not a bad display but it’s not special either. The setup was typical of Windows 10 and was very quick with very little software bloat. The popup camera works very well and should support the Microsoft face login if you want but is otherwise hidden for security. Overall this is a very well designed package that also has both HDMI in and out connections. So although it's not a gaming computer you could connect it to a console or add a second monitor. This makes this All-In-One a good option for expansion which you don’t expect in this form factor. It’s been very quiet and we didn’t experience any problems with it going to sleep and coming right back up. This is expected and one of the features she uses since she never turns her computer off. Overall this is a very easy All-In-One to recommend and my past experience with Dell support has been very positive. There is a 27” display version of this computer that would make a great dorm room addition. This All-In-One is perfect for those that want a modern plug and play computer that should provide years of service.

Surprising nice RGB Keyboard

The AW510K RGB Mechanical was quite a surprise to me. I have been a dedicated fan of mechanical keyboard since they first became a thing for gaming some years back. So although I have had different Cherry key types I never tried the red switches. I kind of depend on the click you associate with mechanical keys but the red keys are mostly silent without the click. But these keys were so smooth I really ended up liking them a lot. In this Dell version the key travel is almost notebook like. But in gaming I found these keys not just very smooth but also very fast. It didn’t take long before I really liked the feel. And as can be expected this keyboard is also great for office work. Maybe better than most because of how quiet it is. This was also my first white keyboard or as Dell calls is Lunar Light. When lit up they lighting seems to make the whole keyboard feel almost neon. The keyboard is well equipped although you do have to use the function keys for the media keys. The keyboard has a few onboard lighting modes without using the Alienware software. I mostly left it on a rolling color that matches the lighting on my PC. I do have one issue that is very common for keyboards with a USB passthrough and that is the cable. It's a heavy braided two wire USB connection. I have other RGB keyboards that are a single connection but they lack the USB passthrough. So I guess this is the price you pay for this feature. I also have long term concerns on what the white will look like overtime. But out of the box this keyboard is a joy to use and game with. The lighting is bright and at least in the white version very unique as the lighting seems to make the whole keyboard glow unlike most RGB keyboards where, just the keys themselves light up.

Nice quality RGB Mousepad

The first thing you notice when you open the box for this mousepad is how nice the packing is. Its a real nice simple presentation. The mousepad sits on a dense foam with the manual and USB cable sitting nicely under it with the cable laid out in a molded channel. The USB cable connects to the mousepad with an industrial looking metal connector and looks very cool. The USB cable is braided and unlike some desktop RGB peripherals only needs a simple USB port to work. No heavy cable or dual connectors which is really nice. This is another large mousepad at just under 14”L x 10”W and because of the way the USB cable attaches you can really only orientate the mousepad one way. So be sure you have the space it will take. The mousepad has an integrated metal structure with nice size rubber pads on the bottom which did a very good job of keeping the mousepad in place. The mouse surface appears to be some type of texture material but its not metal. It is also not smooth but worked very well and while gaming I never thought about it. Which to me is exactly what a mouse surface should do. Then there's the RGB lighting. It runs around the outside edge of the mousepad. There is a fingerprint screen printed at the top of the mousepad that allows you to change the lighting effects. The options are simple 7 single solid colors, 1 with the colors changing around the edge and 1 is a breathing affect. It’s not intended to sync with other RGB devices you may have. The colors are distinct but not overly bright. I did like that it stays lit as long as you have a powered USB connection. Oh and you can turn it off entirely if you want. About the only thing I can really bring up is at the very edge of the pad and the mouse surface you fell where they come together. It’s not smooth and had a little bit of a rough feel to it. It makes you think the surface is cloth but I don’t think it is. You would have to go looking for it and it's nothing you would ever feel in use. I went to the Lexip website but they don’t really say much about it. Finally if you want an RGB mousepad and have the space for it, the Lexip B5 is built very well, looks very well and plays very well.

A very nice gaming mouse

ROCCAT - Kain 200 AIMO Wireless Optical Gaming Mouse - Black
When it comes to PC gaming mouse you have lots of choices. The Kain 200 is very competitive with the more established brands. The RGB lighting is done very well, its comfortable and it has a solid build quality. It also looks very good and I like the feel of the material in my hand. The clicks feel good on all of the buttons. I especially like where the DPI setting is right at the top. At first I thought it might get clicked by accident but that never was a problem. In fact I like the placement better than most other gaming mouse and I found myself using it more often. Other gaming mouse make you lean where the DPI button is but the Kain mouse puts it so you always know where to find it. The layout of all of the button is very logical and it doesn’t waste buttons that you might not use. However if your a person who likes lots of button the Kain might not be for you. I like mine to be simple so it fit my gaming style very well. I also like my mouse to be lite so when I get one with weights I almost always end up taking the weights out. The Kain is very light and that helps make it feel very fast. Roccat claims to have 30 hours of battery life. It’s always hard to confirm a number like that but over several days and gaming sessions I never experienced a problem with the battery. If I had one complaint it would be the USB connection. The cable is braided and feels good but it’s the old style micro USB. The industry needs to move away from the micro USB standard and move to the type C USB connection. Also the shape of the connector fits deep into the mouse so some cables might not fit the narrow path where it plugs in. Not a deal breaker but I do wish the type C connector was used so we can finally move away from this older connector. I like the Kain 200, it every bit as good as any of the top gaming mouse in it price class.

The Adobe Premiere Elements is a very powerful video editor and has many features to make your movie creation have a professional look. But video editing is one of those computer uses that takes time to learn to get good results. All of the tools are here for both the beginner and vetran use alike. For those new to video editing Premiere has wizards like features that do a good job and can give you a good start. But be prepared to spend time learning. There is a quick edit mode for those projects where you just want to do some basic cropping or join videos together. A guided edit mode for more detailed edits such as transitions, adding titles and correcting the images such as for brightness color and contrast. And an expert section for more advanced projects. There are helpful tutorial for those times when you might get stuck so you should take the time to take advantage of. Video editing is also one of those tasks that can make what you thought was your fast web browsing computer come to a crawl. This is a mature software by the industry leader. Just take the time to learn it and you will get out of it what you put into it.

Some very good features, but average build quality

Turtle Beach - Elite Atlas Aero Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset for PC with Waves Nx 3D Audio - Black/Silver
The Turtle Beach - Elite Atlas Aero Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset has some things I like very much but it misses the mark on some of the things that might make it a top choice. First off the presentation during the unboxing is done very well. Included in the box is just about everything you need for both use as a PC gaming headset and a mobile headset. You get a USB wireless adapter which can be placed under the right ear pad for storage. All wireless headsets should have something like this, especially since this can be a mobile headset. The fact that the earpad can be removed so easy might suggest you could get replacements. It comes with very nicely padded pleather that is comfortable. Another interesting feature when you remove the ear pads there is a rubber adjustment that you pull out and it creates a space in the earpad for your glasses. Again a very unique feature and its actually works very well. My only complaint is how to use it in the very short setup instructions isn’t clear but it does work and I don’t recall seeing a feature like this before. All of the controls on the headset itself can be found on the left earphone. They are very easy to access and feel and work just fine. The ability to increase the mic volume so you can hear your voice is not something I use much but it does work exactly as claimed. The power button is easy to feel along with a button for what Turtle Beach calls there Superhuman feature. You will also find a Mic monitoring adjustment that along with the Super Hearing buttons can be remapped. Although I didn’t feel the need to change them. But thats is another nice options for those that do. You will also find a USB charging port and AUX connection. I do wish the charging port was a USB type C in place of a micro USB since its a better connector but I can overlook that. Finally you have a removable mic. The mic mute is on the ear pad. Probably a good enough location one you get used to it. It does make for a busy right ear piece but all of the controls are easy to find and use. The software utility or as Turtle Beach calls it is the Control Station must be downloaded and it one of the most complete headphone utilities I have ever seen. I could spend this whole review just talking about all of the options you have. You can set the Mic monitoring volume or turn it off completely. The mic works very well according to my online friends and in fact I was told my voice was more natural then my other gaming headsets. This is always a plus for any gaming headset. There are pre-set sound, options and full control of the Superhuman hearing feature. Turtle Beach has also incorporated Waves NX 3D Audio. Any 3D audio can be hard to explain and your results may vary. But the Waves NX 3D audio is found in some very high end gaming headsets and is considered one of the best attempts to bring back 3D audio to PC gaming. I played PUBG and the new Boarderlands 3 and it was in PUBG that it did seem to help the most. That is if I could have lasted long enough. In the software you will also find a ten band equalizer that can be set to be unique for the Game EQ, Chat EQ and Microphone EQ. There is where you will also find the available options for assigning macros. As I said before there is a load of configuration options in the Control Studio software. Another interesting feature I found was when I listened to the headphone on my mobile phone with the AUX connection I was able to turn the power on or off and it didn’t affect the sound. Thats was a surprise since in most cases its either or on a wireless headset if it will play back with the power off. Again a very nice feature if you do use this as a mobile headset. So with all of this my only complaint is the build quality. It is not bad but it is not great either. The headset doesn’t feel cheap but it doesn’t feel have the feel that all of the feature here deserve. It uses a single spring band over your head and this is a very common design but a bit more padding would have been nice. Also the height adjustment doesn’t inspire confidence it will hold up. It didn’t cause me any problems it just didn’t have that solid feel it should. And the material used for the earphones doesn’t match up the the feature set or the nice padding. Finally, at least for me they are a bit tight on the head. I could never wear them for the claimed 30 hours battery life. It could be my head which is usually quite average in size for most headsets. I also was not very impressed with the range of the wireless signal compared to other wireless headsets I have used and reviewed. Not an issue at the desk but for those quick breaks I did lose the signal that came right back as I got closer to the receiver. Also I found myself setting the sound on its maximum setting with both my PC gaming and pretty close to that on my mobile phone. That can be a good thing for your hearing but it is always nice to have more and turn it down then to have to max it out. If the build quality was up to the feature set this headset would be a sure winner. You do get a lot of value here and I have been stretching it a bit to reduce the clamping pressure. So far that hasn’t made much of a difference but it is not to bad just a tad too much. I have never had a Turtle Beach headphone before and I am impressed with most of what you get. I would suggest if your looking for a wireless PC gaming headset you should take a look as it does have a lot of offer.
The Turtle Beach - Elite Atlas Aero Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset has some things I like very much but it misses the mark on some of the things that might make it a top choice. First off the presentation during the unboxing is done very well. Included in the box is just about everything you need for both use as a PC gaming headset and a mobile headset. You get a USB wireless adapter which can be placed under the right ear pad for storage. All wireless headsets should have something like this, especially since this can be a mobile headset. The fact that the earpad can be removed so easy might suggest you could get replacements. It comes with very nicely padded pleather that is comfortable. Another interesting feature when you remove the ear pads there is a rubber adjustment that you pull out and it creates a space in the earpad for your glasses. Again a very unique feature and its actually works very well. My only complaint is how to use it in the very short setup instructions isn’t clear but it does work and I don’t recall seeing a feature like this before. All of the controls on the headset itself can be found on the left earphone. They are very easy to access and feel and work just fine. The ability to increase the mic volume so you can hear your voice is not something I use much but it does work exactly as claimed. The power button is easy to feel along with a button for what Turtle Beach calls there Superhuman feature. You will also find a Mic monitoring adjustment that along with the Super Hearing buttons can be remapped. Although I didn’t feel the need to change them. But thats is another nice options for those that do. You will also find a USB charging port and AUX connection. I do wish the charging port was a USB type C in place of a micro USB since its a better connector but I can overlook that. Finally you have a removable mic. The mic mute is on the ear pad. Probably a good enough location one you get used to it. It does make for a busy right ear piece but all of the controls are easy to find and use. The software utility or as Turtle Beach calls it is the Control Station must be downloaded and it one of the most complete headphone utilities I have ever seen. I could spend this whole review just talking about all of the options you have. You can set the Mic monitoring volume or turn it off completely. The mic works very well according to my online friends and in fact I was told my voice was more natural then my other gaming headsets. This is always a plus for any gaming headset. There are pre-set sound, options and full control of the Superhuman hearing feature. Turtle Beach has also incorporated Waves NX 3D Audio. Any 3D audio can be hard to explain and your results may vary. But the Waves NX 3D audio is found in some very high end gaming headsets and is considered one of the best attempts to bring back 3D audio to PC gaming. I played PUBG and the new Boarderlands 3 and it was in PUBG that it did seem to help the most. That is if I could have lasted long enough. In the software you will also find a ten band equalizer that can be set to be unique for the Game EQ, Chat EQ and Microphone EQ. There is where you will also find the available options for assigning macros. As I said before there is a load of configuration options in the Control Studio software. Another interesting feature I found was when I listened to the headphone on my mobile phone with the AUX connection I was able to turn the power on or off and it didn’t affect the sound. Thats was a surprise since in most cases its either or on a wireless headset if it will play back with the power off. Again a very nice feature if you do use this as a mobile headset. So with all of this my only complaint is the build quality. It is not bad but it is not great either. Like most everyone else I know my wife and I both have long commutes and full time jobs. So we are always looking for ways to make our downtime our own. And like most people we don’t have downtime until we're done with dinner. So when you get the opportunity to not just save time in the kitchen but also can quickly make a great dinner it really is a nice addition not just to our cooking options but to our day. The Chefman Toaster Oven has been a real pleasure to use and the options it gives us has been a real value for us. It opens up so many options from roasting a full chicken to warming up leftovers. I will admit we still have a lot to learn to take advantage of all the options available in this oven. But we can already tell that as we learn more it is going to be even easier to use and explore better ways to take advantage of all it has to offer. Since we have had this oven we haven’t even used our bigger oven. Having it sit on the counter top makes it so easy to both use but also keep clean and it also looks great. The oven comes with a cookbook but it's really more of a way to get you started. We will be looking for a more comprehensive cookbook since the options available are more then I would even try to list here. The oven includes pretty much all of the accessories you will need so right out of the box we were able to put it to use. The controls are easy to use and the internal lighting is a nice touch. This is especially true as new users who are not quite sure when your first steaks are done broiling. With this toaster oven I am pretty sure our bigger oven will not be used much which will save us time, money and it will stay cleaner. Great vacuum with improving software

Shark IQ Robot™ Vacuum - RV1001
I have reviewed a few robot vacuums over the last few years. Most have impressed me but they didn’t perform over the long haul like most appliances should. And the newer vacuums all want to connect to your home network and by doing so can become more complicated than necessary. I am mostly fine with that as long as it can work as expected offline. It does give you choices and that is a good thing. If you want to tell your current assistant or phone app to run your vacuum and it works that's a nice option. But like all robot vacuums you do have to pick up lose thing so the vacuum doesn’t get stuck. Well I have to say of all the robot vacuums I have had and reviewed the Shark IQ was the most resilient to either not get stuck in the first place or to find a way to get out of a situation that looked like it should. And it’s path, especially as it learns your floor plan does pretty much prove where it got the IQ in its name. This is one impressive device to show how a consumer artificial intelligence appliance can make life easier. It’s not perfect but impressive nonetheless. It does an excellent job not just getting around but with it corner brush and suction. It does a very good job on my wooden floors. It has no problems with my floor rugs and its not nearly as loud as others I have had. The bin could be bigger but its very easy to empty. The vacuum worked wll every not being connected to my home network which was a good thing because that's where Shark needs to get better. The Android app failed to finish running the network configuration setup. So for much of my testing I didn’t have a working app. Which as I said doesn’t prevent the vacuum from working but it does impact the out of the box experience. I was able to contact Shark support fairly quickly on a Tuesday morning. The support wasn’t able to fix the app but he said he would send me to a higher support with another call back. I didn’t get a call back that same day but I did get a call back the next day. The same tech I spoke to told me the App had been updated and should fix my connection problem. Later I uninstalled the App and reinstalled it. It did fix the problem and I got another call back the next day with this same tech asking me if I still had any problems. I was happy to report that I didn’t. The App has scheduling functions, you can start the vacuum or send it back to its dock anytime you want. And this vacuum does an excellent job of getting back to its base. It will build a floor plan of what it has been mapping but unfortunately I never got to actually have the app show the map. I did mention this to the tech and he said it can take up to five full vacuums before the map become available in the app. He also went on to say that if you move the base even a small amount it can cause you to lose the map and the vacuum will redo a new one. I am looking forward to what options I have once I do get a full map but my experience so far has been very positive. For an appliance like this I always recommend looking at adding an extended warranty.

Logitech - G815 LIGHTSYNC RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with GL Clicky Switch
The Logitech 815 is a new design I have not seem from Logitech before. It is clearly a gaming keyboard with it individual RGB lighting, macro keys and ability to defeat the windows key. It also includes a USB passthrough and some very easy to use multimedia keys. The new design is the thin low profile format that is both modern looking and a departure from the standard designs we have had forever. My current gaming keyboard has a padded wrist rest. The logitech with its low profile doesn’t need a wrist rest which is nice and frees up room on your desktop. An interesting feature is also the G815 can be had with three different types of Logitech’s GL mechanical keys. The version I have is called the GL Clicky. This has a pleasant audible click and tactile feedback. They also offer GL Tactile with a bump when pressing down and a GL Linear that is claimed as completely smooth. I do like the Logitech GL mechanical keys and I use one daily in my office. If there is one thing I wish Logitech would have changed is the need to use up two USB ports. Some smaller computers might not have the extra USB port. And it also makes the cable thicker. I have another Logitech keyboard with full RBG lighting that works just fine using one USB connection. I suppose the second one is needed for the USB passthrough.The Logitech G815 looks great, has some of the nicest mechanical keys of any manufacturer and is a pleasure to use. The price does put it at the higher end level although, I am a big proponent of using quality peripherals for computers and especially gaming. Your keyboard, mouse and monitor are mostly what you interact with on a PC and can really make a difference that a slightly faster CPU might not even be noticed. And can also last through several upgrade cycles so choose them carefully. With Logitech products you almost can’t go wrong and now the options are even better.

Can you add a SSD or NVME to the 528? Specs show an internal SSD PCIE! No pictures of the insides or specs anywhere online. Also looks like a 4 or 5 TORX for the back cover. Two screws near the hinge look like they are separate form the back cover????
The user guide makes no mention of being able to add additional storage.

The Pixel 5G is an Android phone and not a Windows phone. There is no new phones using Windows and hasn't been for years. The most current phone from Microsoft uses the Android operating system.

The lack of review might be due to it being a very new product. It can be found on the Turtle Beach website. The ear cups are a very soft pleather. You are not likely to see full leather ear cups at this price range or even higher. The mic is removable and the mute button is on the left headphone. The mic works very well.

It is neither. It is a full 3D sound environment and not separate channels. You can find this feature in some higher end headphones. It seems to work well but its not your average 5.1 or 7.1 surround channel that we think of. Go look for Waives NX 3D audio to find out more about this technology.

Using the USB connection it should work. But I won't say for sure since I haven't tried it.

It works very good on Discord. The mic is very good on this headset.
