Best for small offices and work from home, the Brother HL-L2480DW Wireless Compact Black & White (Monochrome) Multi-Function Laser Printer is the affordable 3-in-1 option for exceptionally efficient printing, copying, and scanning. This compact, multi-function wireless printer is an effective, time-saving addition to any home or small workspace. As quick as it is efficient, the HL-L2480DW consistently produces crisp, easy-to-read black & white prints at speeds up to 36 ISO pages per minute (1) (ppm). Automatic duplex printing saves time and reduces paper waste, while the 250-sheet capacity paper tray (2) decreases paper refill frequency. With an integrated 2.7” touchscreen, navigation is simple and straightforward, and the touchscreen allows you to print-from and scan-to popular cloud-based apps. (3) Flexible connection options include dual-band wireless, Ethernet, and USB 2.0 interfaces. Plus, advanced security features help protect your information and maintain secure connections while you're printing

Great moderate use multifunction laser printer
on January 2, 2024
Posted by: TrueReviews20
After trying a few different models of inkjet and laser printers over the years, Brother continues to take the cake with it's models, particularly the laser printers. I would say most households should really move to laser printers only if they can forego color printing. Even if that's a must a good deal is out there for color models and the longevity and cost work out much better in the long term.
For this model, I use it for mixed household, academic, and business use.
In terms of printing, it's fast, good quality, and after printing over 500 pages so far, no issues.
My primary interest was how the auto-duplex and scanning would work out. It worked quite well and didn't have to repeat pages or worry about jams.
The size of the printer is on the bigger side overall. However, it is more compact than the lift top models with separate feeders.
The cost of toner is very reasonable for Brother, another huge plus.
Overall, this is as good as advertised. It's simple to set up, works great, and has little issues. I would have no issue recommending this to home users or up to moderate sized businesses.
I have always been a fan of the ease of set up for Brother machines. Some other companies have seriously cumbersome setups and this is very quick and easy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Another throwback hit
on November 12, 2023
Posted by: TrueReviews20
After owning and gifting away the first generation model, I was excited for this new release. The general tech updates are modest in real life experience but the new add-ons such as the lens filters and app connectivity are a nice addition that makes it worth every penny.
Set up/App: The setup to the app is fairly straightforward. I'd overall happy with the app experience and it was not glitchy on my Apple device. It adds on the ability to take multiple photos, set timer, modify aperture, etc. It has a nice and simple layout.
Film: Film there's not much to say other than it's easy to load. Not terribly expensive but of course this is a novelty item and you are going to pay the price for it.
Camera features: On the camera itself you are able to set a timer, double exposure, and modify the aperture. It has a very nice retro look to it (as it did previously). I am a big fan of the newly included lens filters. They are just fun to mess around with and adds a bit of novelty. Personally, they are only useful is very well-lit environments. They do decrease the quality of the picture and don't do so great on dark skin tones compared to light. They updated the auto focus which I believe has made the photos at least a little better quality.
Prints: They are definitely better than the original. The updated flash is better at producing nicer prints but this diminishes greatly at distances greater than ~6-8 feet. The dimmer the lighting the poorer quality capture and print. Overall, I still think you need to set your expectations in a world of very high quality cameras, this is not for your professional headshot or wedding photo shoot.
Overall: This is a great update. Priced as a novelty item, I do believe you are not necessarily getting what you paid for in results but in the novelty. I am not sure whether its worth upgrading from a previous model but I would highly recommend this over any leftover first gen models.

Has most of what you want
on October 13, 2023

Given this was my first baby monitoring system I had no idea what to expect. This is a big deal nowadays and there are many options. VTech is a long-standing brand and this model seemed to have the important features and flexibility I was looking for.
Safety was my number one concern. There has been numerous devices that have been hacked in to or otherwise, typically related to the user but I wanted to have a safe device. There's nothing special about how VTech maintains safety of camera hacking on the user end but overall the experience seemed trusting. I have my house on a VPN and smart devices isolated from the main network to assist with this.
The cameras are good quality. 1080p is okay but there's not a lot better at a reasonable price. When placed within 10-15 feet at less than 8 ft height (no more than 5 feet from baby), the day light/lights on quality was good. We're obviously not looking for a pristine view, but need to be able to clearly see positioning and breathing. At night, the quality was about 7/10. Could be better but it was good enough.
The video screen is small and the quality is 7/10. 5" is nice and compact but it is on the smaller side.
The pan/tilt feature is very nice. Remote access wasn't an issue at all.

Great scanner, loaded with features, decent price
on October 5, 2023
Posted by: TrueReviews20
I've been in the market for a good document scanner for a while and hadn't been able to commit to any specific one. It wasn't an absolute necessity and there were enough options that I hadn't taken the leap. Cost was also a factor since some of the best seemed a little to steep in price for the value. Then I came across Epson model. It is packed with features, easy to use, and a relatively good price point. This is aimed for the small business user but I think it would be good for most households that have multiple properties, large families, etc.
Setup: This is a wireless device. Huge plus. You can keep it out or hide it away. I have even travelled with it. You also have to option of wired. I installed the included Epson app.
Scanning: I performed 20 page loads, double sided. I wanted to really see if it could hold up. I have no issues with paper jams, missed scans, or any other issues. It did see maxed at 20 using 21lb paper. I wouldn't think have paper would do as well. The clarity is fairly good. It's not the best resolution I've seen but better than my phone or multi-function printer's scanner.
Software: This is a pretty good software. Good amount of options in regards to scanning features, file types, and organization. I'll keep using it for now.
Wired/wireless: I tried both. Functions pretty closely whether wired or wireless is chosen but there is less lag of course with the wired setup and more stability than dealing with WiFi but I didn't have major issues.
Overall: I can't go back to any other way of scanning. This makes life so much easier and now I can keep records of anything forever. It's a good and reliable unit. I will definitely recommend this purchase.

Meet the new Shark Cordless Detect Pro Stick Vacuum. It features an ultra-intelligent Detect performance suite—4 deep-cleaning technologies that detect & react to your home to capture hidden dirt on every surface, corner, edge, and crevice. DirtDetect senses the hidden dirt that hides in your home, and automatically boosts power to pull it in. EdgeDetect senses edges and corners and doubles suction* power for more powerful cleaning* (vs. ECO mode). FloorDetect senses carpets and hard floors around your home, and optimizes your vacuum’s performance based on the floor type. Lastly, LightDetect automatically illuminates dark spaces, so you can easily track down hidden dirt. All four of these technologies combine in the Shark Detect Pro to give you up to 50% better* dirt pickup (*Based on ASTMF608, eco vs. boost). Plus, the QuadClean Multi-Surface brushroll tackles four cleaning targets: fine dust, pet hair, large debris, and dust along edges. After every clean, Detect Pro Auto-Empty System brings you the ultimate convenience—it empties on its own. Return it to its base, and it charges and empties automatically, sealing in up to 30 days worth of dust & debris, so you can forget about emptying for up to a month, and leave behind the trips to the trash can after every use. Inside the base, Odor Neutralizer Technology guards against bad odors, for a fresh-smelling home. Change the way you clean with the Shark Cordless Detect Pro Auto-Empty System—the dirt-detecting cordless that empties itself.

Great vacuum, high priced
on September 28, 2023
Posted by: TrueReviews20
Owning a few higher end cordless vacuums, I was excited to try Shark's newest model. At a lower price point, it offers much of the benefits of the higher end competitors such as Dyson and LG. Overall I would recommend it as an option but I do believe it comes at a high price point.
Setup: Unboxing is quick and easy. The stand is easy to put together and is overall sleek and can hide well with the white color. It's a compact unit overall so it can be placed in may areas without taking up too much space.
Vacuum: Vacuuming is about a 7-8/10. It picks up small debris and dust pretty easily with one sweep but some larger things tend to take multiple passes. It can be difficult to get edges and under cabinets cleaned without the assistance of a broom or using another vacuum. You can also use an attachment to help with this but it doesn't feel as effective. The roller style helps with avoid hair clogs. If you are using this vacuum regularly or just for light to medium "in-between" cleaning, it is a good choice. For a primary vacuum, I would look for something more robust. Generally speaking this is a good light to medium duty cordless vacuum.
Battery: 60 minutes max reported. Probably get about 30-45 minutes absolute max at full power. Enough to get a small home or large apartment up to 1200-1500 sq ft if there isn't much dirt. Overall not the best battery time.
Auto-empty: This is a great feature. It really integrates well into the stand. I really give this 5 stars for no bags. Complete waste on other systems and robo vacs.
Attachments: minimal provided. Would like to see more.
Overall: I would recommend taking a look at this cordless vacuum as an option. I believe the price point is a bit high when compared to some other competitors with higher end vacuums. Nonetheless a good option to consider

Another solid product from Yale, buttons odd
on September 20, 2023
Posted by: TrueReviews20
Yale is one of, if not the, best smart lock companies. It has a long history in locks and delivers a good product overall. I would highly recommend the Assure Lock 2 but I do have a few minimal qualms that aren't deal breakers.
Price: Overall quite competitive in the price market. As a brand new model is can be steep but it's not more than the top locks. Overtime, sales typically out this lock into a great price zone. Compared to an August lock, I would definitely pick this lock.
Setup: The setup is immensely easy but can be cumbersome if you have not experience or limited ability to perform basic handy work. I would say the majority of people should have no difficulty installing this with the in depth guides and videos available to setup and install. Most homes will be able to seamlessly transition from their existing lock to the Yale lock. The length of install time will be quite variable depending on existing hardware.
Features: I'm a huge fan of auto-lock. You can set the deadbolt to lock automatically once it's closed. If you pay for the upgrade to WiFi you have endless abilities to receive notifications, check status, and play around with access on the fly. This is great for those managing properties and frequently with access but personally I think bluetooth is typically your safest option in terms of the risk of some malicious access to the lock, which has yet to happen in the best smartlock companies. Eufy has been hacked before.
Lock: Works well and seems secure. It's no Medeco. However, the no key option makes it much safer overall.
Keypad: I have the button style model. I'm not sure why a button version was even created. For $20 difference it seems it would have made more sense to eliminate this option and I couldn't find a good reason why it's sold.
Overall, I highly recommend this lock. The key-less, bluetooth only, and touchscreen option would be my personal recommendation.

Great updates, best amongst cordless options
on July 19, 2023
Posted by: TrueReviews20
The new CordZero Vacuum makes some essential upgrades to design, batteries, and accessories. It is definitely a top notch cordless vac that competes well with Dyson. There are some areas where I'd say this comes in second, such as maneuverability and tech but I only have the V11 to compared to. In terms of my older LG, this has many updates that make it more refined.
Setup is easy. It's a cordless vacuum, there is not much to it.
Unboxing: The look is sleek and is higher end than previously. It is larger and takes more space because it has the auto-empty accessory now. It includes a few attachments that store nicely.
Value: This is a high price point. It has a lot more features included which is nice. However, the fact there are many additional attachments available for purchase but not included is highly disappointment at this level of cost.
Battery life: excellent. I've not had any issue doing a full vacuum on moderately dirty floors in a ~2500 sq ft space. As long as you are keeping it charge there will be no issues.
Vacuum: Cleans wells. Picks up 80% of debris in one pass. It does struggle with some large things but that's fairly standard. I was disappointed in the edge cleaning. The attachments are nice but it's not really easy on a long stick. The not-included attachments for purchase have a short flexible hose option which should really be included. The mini nozzle is nice for cars. Overall, I am happy but the edge cleaning and overall maneuverability could be better.
Overall: This is a good vacuum. I would definitely look at other options before making a final decision given the price point. But overall I would recommend this one.

Great basic wine cooler for simple purposes
on June 1, 2023
Posted by: TrueReviews20
This is a no frills wine cooler that will keep your wine at a relatively consistent temperature. It has nothing special. I am using it to keep bottles in appropriate temperature at a secondary apartment that I don't keep my main collection.
There is not much to the setup. Take it out, plug it in, let it cool to temp. It uses a knob to control so it's not as nice and fancy as a higher end unit. However, it's unlikely that's what people looking at something like this desire.
It keeps the temperature within about 2-3 degrees of the set temperature. It must absolutely be kept indoors or any climate controlled area. It will not be able to stay to temp in a very cold garage for example. I haven't tried it in excessive heat but my assumption is that it will not well in the long run.
I only have 10 bottles to try it out with, a mix of red/white/champagne, and it fit them well. I could see it maxing out at 10 if you have a lot of champagne or odd shaped bottles.
Overall, this will get the job done for cheap and I would recommend it. If you need something to store mostly $70+ bottles of wine this is not the right unit for you.

Great potential and a lots of good data
on May 16, 2023
Posted by: TrueReviews20
After owning a smart watch for many years I was excited to take the next leap in health technology. There are not many good options out there that combine the many different aspects of health monitoring and data in the same way as the Oura.
Look/feel: This is a bulky ring and on smaller hands, such as women's hands, the ring will stand out. I understand the amount of tech and battery needs of this device but it is not going to be unnoticed or sleek. It is supposed to be very resistant to scratches but it does scratch fairly easy. I have the silver Horizon which is fairly bland in look and overall not as appealing as some of the other colors. This is a disappoint for a product at this level. It also doesn't feel like the best quality but it is very light.
Battery: Lasts about 3 days and it gives you a heads up to recharge before you go to sleep so you don't miss a night of data. It comes with a charger but you have to use the included charger.
App/data: The app is fairly easy to use and the ring is easy to set up. There is a lot of data and over a few weeks I was able to learn a lot about my sleep data and it captures things like steps quite accurately. I really appreciate the extensive articles and videos Oura provides on learning more about the ring and the data it is collecting. This helps me process what I am looking at into more tangible information.
Subscription: Unfortunately, this product requires a subscription after a free trial. I did not know this ahead of time and I believe they are not really transparent about it. This is a major downside of this product and easily knocked down one star. This is an expensive product and the need to charge a subscription in addition is a huge miss for me.
Overall: Nice product, lots of data, but huge misses on design and required subscription.

Great lock, easy set up, looks good.
on November 1, 2022
Posted by: TrueReviews20
Yale is likely the best brand is smart/electronic locks. The new Assure lock 2 does not disappoint. I have the WiFi enabled version in Satin.
Setup and Installation: Overall, the set up is easy and the directions are easy to follow. Am I an advanced installer so for me I was done from unboxing to completion in less than an hour which was nice to see. Fortunately, I did not need to make any modifications to my door which makes a huge difference. They include extensive guides and videos to help you through the process. I did feel like the measurement guides and instructions could be more clear/better designed. Otherwise, I commend the easy process.
Functionality:
Pros
-Easy to add users
-AirBnB function if needed
-PIN or direct access
-Simple to use
Cons
-There is a sensor for auto-lock that detects the door is open or closed. I deducted a star for this because I went with the flush mount system and the lock inconsistently auto-locks the door. When I check the app, it shows the door is open or closed but for some reason it does not consistently auto-lock and now it doesn't at all.
-If your door has the slightest offset the motor does not have the power to add a little extra force and you will have to hold it tight and assist. There should be improvement here.
-There is no NFC communication so you have to GeoFence the auto-open which I don't prefer Yale constantly tracking my location.
Design: Looks great, I enjoy the light up numbers. Inside portion is definitely better looking than most but still larger than some of the other brands.
Overall: I would recommend this lock but there are some issues that could be improved on. It would also be nice to have included z-wave.

Does Google Earth or Wander work well with this? Can you move around in street view better than the previous version?

Google Earth works great. Very fine controls and immersive. Image quality is mediocre but best you can get these days. Streetview is relatively easy to control but definitely lags

Always know what’s happening at your door with the SimpliSafe Video Doorbell Pro. Its crystal-clear 1080p HD video and 162° field of view give you a clear shot of your property 24/7. Two-way audio lets you hear and speak to unwanted guests (and welcomed ones too) - even when you're not home. Have the SimpliSafe App? The Video Doorbell Pro will send instant alerts whenever someone approaches. And with Smart Person Detection, it can tell the difference between people, vehicles and animals. That means you only get the alerts that matter. Plus, when backed by 24/7 professional monitoring, you’ll have experts who are ready to request emergency dispatch when you need it most. This camera is designed for all weather extremes—so you're still protected in rain and snow. (Compatible with the SimpliSafe Gen 3 security system. Requires Wi-Fi (2.4GHz) and existing wired doorbell setup with mechanical chime and a transformer with 8-24 VAC, 30VA max. Not compatible with digital chimes.)

So if I have a receptacle right under to power the doorbell but do not have a existing chime or transformer would the doorbell work?

If you have a receptacle you would be able to wire in a new transformer. You don't necessarily need to have a chime. However, without a transformer wired up to where you're mounting the doorbell camera, you will not be able to use this. There is no included power supply. You need to buy a transformer that can wire into that Power or plug into it. Then run a wire up to the camera. However you'd be defeating the purpose of this camera because it could easily be unplugged rendering it completely useless.

Stream your favorite shows on this 60-inch Hisense television. Its 3840 x 2160 resolution and 8 ms response time bring scenes to life, and 4K upscaling transforms lower quality video into HD resolution. This Hisense television is equipped with HDMI inputs to connect to a gaming console or Blu-ray player.

Owned 1 month and tv is very sluggish when flipping thru channels, & now it will freeze up on a channel, and I physically have to unplug the tv power cord to get it to shut off. Also volume will randomly go from 0-50 without touching a button. ????

It is very likely the remote itself, unless it's the IR receiver. Change your remote batteries and clean it. Make sure no buttons are sticking. I'd also contact Hisense warranty support even if you're outside the warranty period. Hope this helps.

Listen to music for up to 10 hours with this black JBL portable speaker. It has a built-in Google Assistant that responds to voice commands, and it delivers rich stereo sound while you stream music via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. This water-resistant JBL portable speaker is made of durable materials, so you can use it outdoors safely.

My speaker does not talk back to me...why?

It has to connect to the app and WiFi. Make sure the WiFi light at the bottom is on and the speaker has connect to your phone. If the 4 lights at the top are flashing, it means it has not connected. Sometimes you have to turn it off, launch the app, then turn back on and give it a few minutes.

Does the Garmin require a SIM Card? Or does it connect to the internet through your cell phone?

No SIM required, it uses your phone for everything including internet connection. It relies on the app.
