Great features, very poor sound.

When the Lifeproof AQ10 Bluetooth Speaker arrived, I was really impressed with the packaging. At the price point of this speaker, it needs to tick ALL the boxed. The design of the packaging was very inviting and refreshing. Opening up the half cut box, depicting water spilling out of it, you are greeted with a nice cyan interior to the box.
The speaker is bright and vibrant in it's 'Obsidian Sand and Lime Green' guise. It's a nice, hefty unit and is really well put together. It feels sturdy and looks like it would survive it's claimed 1.2m drop test. There is a waterproof cap to cover the power outlet and USB charging port, but I wasn't convinced that it would remain in place if the speaker was to be bobbing around in water. The back watertight storage area does look to be nice and solidly sealed tho and items will remain dry when placed in there. A nice feature is the back lit buttons, with a motion or light sensor built in so that they light up as your hand moves towards the speaker. That was a really nice touch!
Just like most bluetooth devices on the market now, it was very easy to pair up with my iPhone and start playing music. However, that is where my excitement for this speaker wained. The sound quality is really not very good at all, especially at this price point. I understand that different technology is required to achieve the waterproof status of the speaker, which allows it to be submersed in 1m of water for 30 mins, or to float around in a pool, but it really is at a detriment to the speaker itself. It has great features, but not great sound.
I used it while washing my car, testing out it's waterproof ability and it worked very well. It was sprayed with a hose while sat on top of the car and continued to play music just fine. No water go inside of it at all.
However, the sound quality just wasn't there. The volume itself of the speaker is very low compared to my go-to bluetooth speaker, so I had to turn the volume up a lot. And when I did that, the sound distorted badly, to the point that I had to stop using the speaker altogether. Using it outdoors, in my garage while I washed my car on the driveway was a perfect scenario of how I would use this speaker, and it failed at that task. I returned to my go-to splash-proof speaker and continued with what I was doing.
When I received the speaker, I had really high hopes for it, considering all the features, being waterproof, shockproof, actually lifeproof, but the sound quality really let this speaker down, when at the end of the day, you are buying it to have good sound, and the extras are nice to have features. There are better sounding speakers out there for the price.

Ergonomic shaver, not the best.

First off, when ordering the product, the description said 'Black'. When the product arrived, it is navy blue. That put it on the back foot right away. An odd color for an electric shaver, compared to the traditional blacks and silver you see.
The big clear plastic cover over the blades took a second to work out how to get it off with out breaking it the first time. It seems a little overkill, and when it did come off, it took the shaver foils with it as well. So before even powering it up, I had to put it back together.
Once put back together, the shaver is well put together and very ergonomic in your hand. It fits nicely and the material has a good grip to it, whether dry or wet. The shaver also powered up right away, so it did come with some charge in it from the factory, which is a plus.
On to the shaving. I first tried a dry shave on day old stubble. Wasn't sure what to expect, but the foils felt good on the skin, no sharpness or tugging from the foils/blades. However, it took quite some time to get a closeness I was looking for, tightening my skin helped with this, but I had to go over the same spot several times to make sure it was taken care of.
The shaver works a lot better when combined with some shaving foam. The next day I put a thin layer of shaving foam on first, to try it's wet ability and surprisingly I got a much better shave the second day using it wet, than I did the first day using it dry.
The trimmer is a little awkward to access, the button to eject it for use are a little fiddly, and it doesn't protrude from the shaver that much for accurate trimming.
After shaving, the unit comes apart easily to wash the blades and foils.
Charging the unit is a little sketchy in my opinion. The charger mounts to the wall in the electrical socket, suspended by itself. And then the shaver clicks into the holder. I wasn't keen on the strain to the electrical socket while the unit charges. However, when the charger is out of the wall socket, it sits on your countertop and holds the shaver well.

The little bag that comes with this is pretty much a throwaway, as the shaver doesn't totally fit in it! I've tried it tail first and nose first, both ways it doesn't really fit in there.
Overall, the shaver does what it's intended for, that is shave. And it seems to only do a decent job when wet/using foam. The dry shave just didn't seem up to par with other brands I have used in the past. It is very ergonomic in the hand, so the design is on point, but I came away a little disappointed in the performance.

Impressive sound for the size!

I was excited to open the Sony SRS XB30, as my previous bluetooth speaker was relatively cheap, and left a lot to be desired, sound-wise.
So, opening up the box, which in itself is nice and tactile, you are greeted straight away by the speaker. No messing around. Pulled it out and powered it up. The indicator in the SongPal app (I'll get to that later) showed 50% charge, so that was great, meant I could use it right out of the box.
Sync'd it to my phone (without instructions) by pressing the big bluetooth button and then looking for it on my phone (just like you would with any other bluetooth device). Paired up really quickly.
Chose my first song to play through it and away I went. Bam! The little speaker had a nice punch, straight out of the gate! I was very impressed, almost taken aback as I checked it out. Turned the volume up and it sounded great. Then, as anyone would, you HAVE to press the EXTRA BASS button. When you do, dual passive radiators work together with stereo full-range speakers to enhance the low-end tones, giving bass a nice boost — despite the speakers compact size. Basically, it sounds fantastic!
However, I found that the speaker sounds fantastic, at a lower volume and when you are close to it. As I stepped away from the speaker and turned up the volume, the bass intensity dropped and more higher end sounds took precedence. I live in a moderately sized home with 25ft ceilings in the living room and the speaker was able to fill the room with sound, but didn't sound quite as bass-backed as it did when the volume was lower and I was closer to it. However, I am still very impressed with what this speaker can do, considering it's size.
On to the SongPal app... I opened it up and got the speaker hooked up to it, and from there you can change many settings on the speaker. It has an illuminated LED ring around it and two strobe lights. You can turn them on and off and you can control certain colors of the ring with predetermined color pattens within the app. But you cannot directly choose the color with a color wheel.
You can also check battery status, power settings, adjust the EXTRA BASS and more. The unit claims a 24 hour battery life (when not using the lights on it) and so far, it's living up to it's claims.
You can connect via bluetooth as mentioned or also via USB.
You can also link speakers, so if you have more than one of them, you can link them for stereo sounds. And if you want more, you can link up to 10 of them together for a full on party atmosphere!
The speaker is also water-resistant, not completely waterproof. So don't drop it in the pool and expect it to work, but it is splash proof and spill proof, so you can take it and use it at the beach as long as you make sure that the internal components cover is securely fastened, as Sony mentions many times in the instruction manual!
You can connect up to three devices to it as well, although I haven't tried this feature as I would only use it with my phone.
I would love to see a power indicator on my phone as to how much power is left in the speaker. I use a pair of Sony Bluetooth Headphones (MDR-XB70BT) every day and they provide a little icon showing how much charge is left in them on my phone. That would be useful with the speaker, as I may not always use the SongPal app when using the speaker.
As for the SongPal app, I had an issue with the speaker connecting twice to it, and then not registering either of them. I had to erase the speakers and reconnect them. Not a deal breaker but it made the SongPal app feel a little clunky.
It would be nice to have a color wheel to choose individual colors for the LED ring around the speaker, but again, not a deal breaker, but a nice to have feature.
Overall I am very impressed with the Sony SRS XB30 Bluetooth Speaker and I would recommend it to my friends without hesitation.

Uncomfortable, with poor sound quality.

I was excited to open these JBL headphones, leaning on my past knowledge of great JBL products.
First, the product packaging is very nice. Very tactile and high quality. I opened the packaging and inside there are the headphones, 4 ear 'plugs', 3 ear 'buds', a charging cord, a carry case and instructions.
I charged up the headphones, turned them on and paired them with my iPhone. I cued up one of my favorite songs, and set about pairing the right ear plugs with the right ear buds.
That is where my problems started. The large plug blocked out the ambient sound, but held the ear pieces too far out of my ear, leaving the sound very tinny and underwhelming. Trying the subsequent smaller plugs and smaller buds resulted in slightly better sound, but headphones that wouldn't stay in my ear.
The only way I could get 'decent' sound, I had to put pressure on the headphones in my ears. That was uncomfortable and not how I should have to use them.
So in summary, I wasn't able to get a good fit with these headphones no matter what combination of plug and bud I used. And the sound quality was nowhere near what I expected it to be from JBL. I have some wireless headphones from a well known brand and the sound quality is night and day.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend these headphones. Too uncomfortable to wear, and unable to attain great sound quality from them.

I've had 6 standard Arlo cameras for about 4 months now. Love the product. Recently I picked up the two pack of Arlo Pro cameras with the new 'Siren' base station.
First off, as a professional designer, the packaging is very attractive. The products are very visible and you can see them in 360 degrees. As a consumer, however, the packaging is not very easy to get into. It takes me longer to get into it, than I feel that it should.
Once into the packaging and having the products in front of me, they are very well put together. Very tactile as well. Sitting the Pro next to the original Arlo cameras, you can see that these new units are about 25% larger. This will be to facilitate the new rechargeable battery and the new 2-way audio capabilities. But they are not cumbersome in their size.
I chose to replace two of my standard cameras with the Pro cameras out front of my house and at the back door. In order to set up the new cameras, I needed to take down all of my cameras and sync them to the new base station.
The sync set up is the same as the previous version of the cameras, press the sync button on the base station and then press the sync button on the camera for 2 seconds and wait.
The cameras synced quickly each time without any trouble at all. My issue came when in app, I was told that the camera needed an update. One worked fine. The other one showed it was updating, but then stopped doing anything and would then tell me that I had an update to do. Same thing, would do the update, it would go back to the start and tell me I had an update to do. I continued on and set up the camera.
The cameras mount on their proprietary mounts, which for some reason there isn't an outdoor mount included in this set. The previous standard 2 camera pack and 4 camera pack that I had purchased included the magnetic bases but also 1 outdoor mount. There isn't one in this Pro 2 pack.
Setting up the cameras is easy. A simple screw mount attaches them to the outdoor mount (which I purchased separately) and then positioning is done through the Arlo app. You can turn the image 180 degrees, if you are mounting the camera upside down, under your eaves or the like. This is where I have a little contention. There is only the option for 0 degrees or 180 degrees. No other rotation options. I would like to have 90 degrees as an option, for narrower hallways. Otherwise you have to turn your head 90 degrees to view your video on screen, be it a laptop or within the Arlo app.
The video quality is excellent. Detection time for the motion sensor is very good as well. The only drawback is that the camera is essentially asleep and needs motion to wake it, so there is a delay from the wake up to the start of the recording. It's not much, but it's the difference between catching the front and catching the back of a car driving past your house.
New in the Pro version is 2-way talk. The sound pick up of the camera in my opinion is fantastic. My front camera is in my entry way. I was talking to my neighbor at the edge of my property line and could hear the conversation on playback clear as day. Testing out the 2-way talk, there is a little delay on 'set up' i.e. triggering the speaking capability, but it works flawlessly in the time that I have tried it.
I am very happy with the cameras and their functionality, the only issues I have are with the initial software updates that didn't seem to work on one of the cameras, and then the lack of functionality to rotate the camera view to 90 degrees. Obviously you can angle the camera however you want, but the video view cannot be changed apart from 0 degrees or 180 degrees.
The video quality is superb, battery life is really good in the short time I've owned them, but the standard cameras batteries are lasting very well indeed. Signal is strong around my 4,000ft home, I don't have any connection issues with them at all. I have not tested out the siren functionality at this moment in time.
Overall, great cameras with much needed and welcomed functionality.

I've always thought it would be cool to not choke myself whenever I moved while wearing headphones. That has always been my experience, especially sitting in an office.
Now that I have these SONY Xb70bt Extra Bass Wireless In-ear headphones, I don't ever have to gasp for air again.
Sure, I was skeptical about how good they would be, but all of my fears have been alleviated. I've used Skull Candy headphones in the past, they sound great, but the wires are a continual source for static noises, unwanted sounds and just general annoyance. These SONY headphones have added a whole new dimension to my in ear listening experience with the Extra Bass that they provide. They do a good job of canceling surrounding noise as well, even tho they aren't dedicated noise canceling headphones. The wearable 'band' wasn't intuitive at first, finally I settled on tucking it under my collar on my polo shirts, but now that I've used it for a few days, it's very simple to use and command. Been using them for a week so far, sporadically on and off and haven't needed to recharge them yet!
I've tested their range and can walk completely to the other side of the office without them cutting out, a distance of well over 80ft. Means I can get up to the coffee machine without strangling myself, and without having to unplug my phone from the charger either. I know these are first world problems, but it is totally nice to not have to do that!
The sound is nice and crisp and clear (I am by no means and Audiophile, I mean come on, I'm listening to Hardwired by Metallica!). But I do appreciate good sound. Are these the best I've ever heard? No. Do they do a decent job at reproducing what you want to hear. Absolutely. There is a nice thump to the bass, without busting your ear drums, vocals, as mentioned are crisp and clear. Guitar work and mid range can seem to merge a little, coming across a little fuzzy.
I have very small ear canals and have had issues in the past, especially with Apple's headphones, with them being painful to wear. The SONY headphones come with a variety of different 'socks' to go over the ear piece and they are very comfortable indeed. Very well designed in that respect. They get 5 stars just for being super comfortable to wear!
My only negative would be the little flap for the charging port, that rubber seal is not the easiest to get open, but then I haven't had to charge them up a whole lot either, so it may or may not be an inconvenience to some.
Overall, very happy with the quality and the sound of these headphones.

Doesn't do everything you'd expect.

I was interested in seeing just how good this 'multigroomer' was, especially when it seemed to offer everything a man would need to remain neatly groomed.
Alas, in my experience, that wasn't to be.
What I need from a multigroomer is to do exactly that, groom EVERYTHING that I need grooming. It's biggest let down, the fact that it won't do a very good job on your face, when trying to get a clean shave. It simply won't do that. It's not designed for that and there isn't an attachment to get you a completely smooth shave.
It is designed for you to groom arm hair, armpit hair, chest hair, even groin hair. It will 'shape' your beard, it will shave you down to varying lengths of stubble, but it is just not good at leaving a nice smooth finish.
So, going back to the shaping and trimming. It does a decent job of that... but not perfect. I still needed to finish off with my trusty wet razor. The guides for shaving varying lengths of stubble work fine, and do their job. The turbo function does make the blades move faster, with no noticeable drain in battery.
This unit does charge quickly, and seem to hold a charge for a decent length of time, which is a definitely plus. There are a nice assortment of attachments as well, so you're able tame the hair on the rest of your body, just not your chin!
If this 'groomer' could give me a nice close shave, it would a 5 stars perfect. However, without that functionality, it dings the product pretty severely. I don't know many, if any of my friends that I would recommend this product to.

The Arlo camera kit I purchase had two cameras, but only one outdoor mount, and I wanted both of these cameras to be outside.
Hence purchasing an additional Arlo Camera Mount. Comes with all the necessary hardware to mount to the outside of the house.
Sturdy, durable and waterproof, this is going to stand the test of time, as long as it doesn't rust!
Only complaint would be that they are only available in white, so on a brick house, they stand out like a sore thumb. Sure, you can spray paint them the color you want them, but it wouldn't be bad to offer other colors from the get go.

Since they have come down in price due to the game being discontinued and supported, they have become a viable addition for my son.

No, this machine does not do cold drinks. It has 5 pre-set coffee settings, and a hot water setting. It brews single cups at a time, so won't brew a whole pot at one time.

Yes you can. Using the app, you are able to control them from anywhere in the world. And I have done! While on vacation to the UK, from the US, I would monitor my house through my video cameras and then adjust the schedules of my lights, randomizing them and checking them from almost 5000 miles away. Worked really well.

Yes, it's fine. I have mine installed in a bar area in my media room. Not had any problems in the month that I've had it there.
