DJI has knocked it out of the park with their new flagship drone. The Mavic 3 is the most sophisticated video content creator's tool ever. And that is saying something given the long lineage of successful, category-leading, products that have preceded the Mavic 3.
The product really melds two very sophisticated technologies in a user-friendly solution that allows anyone with even modest skills to produce amazing photos and video content from vantage points that are impossible to achieve without a stable, multi-axis, aerial camera platform.
Let's start with the drone itself. It is stunning how DJI has managed to incorporate state-of-the-art technologies into a user-friendly remote control platform. The DJI Fly app is feature rich yet clean and intuitive to use.
A short list of the advanced technologies that DJI has stuffed into this tiny package include GPS positioning, automatic take-off, landing, and return-to-home functions, precision remote controlled gimbal control, collision avoidance and pilot assistance via multiple visual sensors, automated flight maneuvers for special visual effects, full incorporation of smart phones (IOS or Android) as visual control panels with realtime video displays, enhanced multiband WiFi for control and aircraft-to-controller video feeds.
A short list of the advanced technologies that DJI has stuffed into this tiny package include GPS positioning, automatic take-off, landing, and return-to-home functions, precision remote controlled gimbal control, collision avoidance and pilot assistance via multiple visual sensors, automated flight maneuvers for special visual effects, full incorporation of smart phones (IOS or Android) as visual control panels with realtime video displays, enhanced multiband WiFi for control and aircraft-to-controller video feeds.
And, this bird can fly! With three flight modes - Cine, Normal and Sport - you can choose the performance level that you need and even switch between modes at will! I use Sport mode to get to my desired location quickly then switch to the Cinema mode for butter smooth, super stable camera shots.
The new Intelligent Flight Batteries are wonderful. If you buy the Fly More package (highly recommended) you will receive three batteries and a compact charging hub that allows you to charge multiple batteries at the same time. Because the Mavic 3 sports motors that are a bit more robust than its predecessors it can support a bigger, slightly heavier battery that translates into better flight time. The literature lists 46 minutes but my real-world experience put it closer to 35 minutes. But it is common for drone manufacturers to be "optomistic" about their quoted flight times and I am not aware of any other drones in the Mavic 3's class that can match, let alone beat, its time. One final observation about charging, I really appreciate that everything - the controller, the charging hub and the drone itself sport USB C connectors. (Yes, you can charge the battery while it is in the drone without having to remove it. Very handy!) I have used a number of chargers (wall plug and car based) and they all worked flawlessly!
One final observation on the quadcopter platform - DJI has done some impressive work to lower the sound levels emitted by this drone. I believe it is a combination of the new prop design and maybe the motors, but in any case you'll be pleasantly surprised at the reduced noise levels.
The second, and argueably most important, component of the Mavic 3 is the Hasselblad camera "complex". DJI's tagline is "Imaging Above Everything" and the Mavic boasts a class-leading 4/3, 20 megapixel main camera. That is a HUGE sensor and allows superb low-light abilities. I flew at sunset and was amazed at the detail in the video. I referred to the "complex" because the surprise is the inclusion of a second camera lens to provide zoom capabilities! This lens has a 1/2 inch sensor that provides for stepped (not continous) optical and digital zoom levels equivilant to a 160mm telephoto lens.
The camera provides for both still images and video. Consistent with the Hasselblad reputation the still image quality is stellar. The 20 megapixel resolution provides all the detail you could ask for along with a formidable selection of features including selectable aperture, auto focus, automatic exposure bracketing, selectable ISO range, and selectable electronic shutter speed. You can also choose between JPEG and DNG (raw) formats. I was able to shoot effortlessly under varying lighting conditions and the images were consistently detailed and crisp.
Video capabilities are overwhelming! With resolutions as high as 5.1k at 50 frames per second, bit rates up to 200Mbps (see caveat below), and the ability to choose your codec (MPEG-4 AVC H.264 or HEVC H.265) you can meet even your most demanding video requirements. One quick observation - the onboard 8GB of RAM that the Mavic 3 offers is not sufficient for even modest filming at these resolutions. I ran out of memory after about 2 minutes of filming. The good news is that the drone supports an external SD card and I was able to easily add an additional 256GB of storage.
DJI is justifiably proud of this drone's video capabilities. I learn something new every time I fly it and very much look forward to the content that I am going to be able to create.
There are a few issues that I encountered with the product. Initially I had a devil of a time getting the DJI Fly app to download and install. I have three different Android devices and ultimately was only able to make it work on my oldest platform! In retrospect, this may have been an Android permissions problem. The devices seemed to object to the format of the apk file.
Also, be aware that the initial firmware upgrades can take a long time to complete. DJI's documentation mentions this. Patience grasshopper.....
Finally, and perhaps most frustratingly, there are a number features not yet available that are promised in a future firmware upgrade. Some are a bit arcane but some, like Quickshots and Active Track are available on older models and are heavily used.
Also, be aware that the initial firmware upgrades can take a long time to complete. DJI's documentation mentions this. Patience grasshopper.....
Finally, and perhaps most frustratingly, there are a number features not yet available that are promised in a future firmware upgrade. Some are a bit arcane but some, like Quickshots and Active Track are available on older models and are heavily used.
A few thoughts on the price of the Mavic 3. I have heard complaints about the significant increase in price between the prior drones and the new drone. However, I believe that if you consider the strides that DJI has made in the area of safety (much improved sensor coverage) and the improvements in the camera (that 4/3 sensor and the second zoom element) this is a fair price for a superior experience.
Put the Mavic 3 on your short list!

I got this router to replace an older dual-band router from the same manufacturer that just couldn't provide the speed or coverage in our shop. Even though we currently don't own any WiFi6 devices we are planning to upgrade our phones soon and we wanted a little future-proofing too.
The router setup was pretty straight forward although I was surprised to see that it doesn't use the app that prior generations were requiring. This setup reminded me of the olden days in that you access the router's administration through a web browser. Once there, the screens are cleanly laid out and pretty basic. That's not to say that the feature set is not comprehensive - it is quite good.
One of the first steps that the initial setup requires is to update the firmware if needed (it was). The modem required a power cycle after the update before I could connect to it again.
Once installed I tested both reach and performance and am pleased to tell you that both exceeded my expectations. Even with pre-WiFi6 equipment there was a speed improvement of about 25% and I was able to reach areas in my shop that I could not connect to before. Better yet - the improved speed was maintained even in those areas that I couldn't even use before!
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I now have to remember to manage this router differently than the other Linksys routers that I use. Perhaps they are planning a future firmware upgrade to address this.

Ninja has nailed it with their new personal blender! The design and operation is dead simple, they provide you with three large, sturdy, dishwasher-safe tumblers with lids and the motorized base is compact and extremely powerful.
We are having a blast experimenting with all kinds of creative smoothies and shakes and even saving money by incorporating some overly-ripe fruits and veggies into delicious, nutritious drinks. Its also super simple to throw something together that you can take with you when you don't have time to prepare a full meal.
Can't recommend this product enough!

I am in love with Ninja products. So, when the Foodi OL500 became available I jumped at the opportunity to add it to our kitchen arsenal.
We own dedicated pressure cookers, air fryers and countertop ovens so the idea of a single solution for all of these functions is very appealing.
Let me just say that this thing just works. Each of the functions we have used is simple and efficient. If you've never done "simple" tasks such as hard boiled eggs or Jasmine rice in a pressure cooker - run, don't walk, to get one of these!
Air frying is similarly delightful. Ninja has provided a flexible rack and "cook and crisp" plate that are critical to positioning your food at the right height while allowing the heat to circulate evenly around your dish. Burgers, fries, frozen food - it all comes out great!
I am still experimenting with the steam-and-crisp function but the included cook book and the extensive on-line community means I'll be spending a lot more time trying out new dishes!
I need to tip my hat to the control panel design. This is how all appliances should be controlled! Simple, comprehensive, large displays and appropriate audio cues make this thing an absolute joy to use!
Downsides? This appliance is huge! You'll need to make sure that you have plenty of free counter space and brace yourself when you lift it up. Another interesting design choice is that the lid hinges open sideways (from left to right) rather than the traditional front-to-back. Two observations about that - it can make accessing the inside of the unit awkward if you are left-handed. It is also more of a challenge to reach down into the unit to work with or remove your food. Be careful, things get very hot inside these cookers and you can get burned.
These observations notwithstanding, this appliance is another hit for for the Ninja team and I highly recommend you have a look!

This is my first GoPro camera and I am blown away! The camera is extremely sophisticated with too many features to count (I am still learning about its advanced capabilities) but can be used right away by even a novice like me!
The video options are comprehensive and the high definition HDR footage is really impressive. I particularly appreciate the stabilization and automatic horizon features which eliminate the jittery, vertigo inducing video that using a camera while in motion can produce.
The GoPro app is comprehensive and fairly easy to navigate and provides you with remote access to the camera's capabilities. There are a few features that I am still trying to access but I'm guessing that it is the operator and not the device!
A few quick notes - when you first fire up the app it will want to do a software update. The camera must be charged to at least 20% before that can happen. So follow the directions - charge first THEN start up the app. Also be aware that the basic kit does not include an SSD card. Refer to the documentation so that you get a memory card with sufficient performance specs to support the high performance video modes. Also, don't skimp on the size of the card - high def video produces some pretty big files.
In summary - should you buy the GoPro Hero 10? Absolutely!

JVC is offering memory foam tips that provide a very effective ear seal that cancels outside interference and provides for comfortable listening sessions.
The earbuds come with an attractive case design that offers additional charging for the earbuds and secure magnetic pockets for the earbuds to nestle into. The case has a satisfying heft and latches securely. Bluetooth pairing was flawless with our Samsung phone.
Sound quality is good but there is a noticeable lack of low-end to my ears. Volume is more than adequate and the superior ear seal helps to elevate the overall experience.
Each bud has its own control button. The button functions vary so be sure to download and read the on-line manual. Phone and audio functions worked as advertised. JVC does offer a "Touch and Talk" feature that lowers the volume and mixes in some outside sound so that you can carry on a conversation without having to remove an earbud. Very handy!

The Acer model 311 Chromebook is a serviceable offering but won't knock your socks off. The specs are typical for the category and the product arrived with everything you need in the box to get up and running quickly. The 11.6 inch screen is adequate and clear if not particularly bright or colorful. Off axis viewing is dim but that is typical for a product like this.
The bigger issue for me is overall build quality. The case seems a bit thin and the keyboard and trackpad don't seem to be very durable.
My intent is carry this in my travel bag to gigs and I hope that it can hold up to the wear and tear.
I don't want to end this review on a negative note. The product offers the expected suite of features and performance. But I would strongly suggest that you get it into your hands to decide about its durability for yourself.
The bigger issue for me is overall build quality. The case seems a bit thin and the keyboard and trackpad don't seem to be very durable.
My intent is carry this in my travel bag to gigs and I hope that it can hold up to the wear and tear.

The latest Microsoft Surface PC is a stylish, solidly built computing solution in a very compact form factor. This thing is ultra thin and light but still offers excellent features.
I was somewhat concerned about whether the Surface would be underpowered (mine has the i5 processor and 8GB of RAM) but I soon realized that it was running neck-and-neck with my older i7 laptop that was my daily driver. And the battery life was three times longer!
The screen is bright and the colors are good, the keyboard and trackpad provide solid tactile feedback and have a quality feel. I do wish that the lettering on the keys was black rather than white. The increased contrast would be welcome especially in low-light situations.
Although the Surface offers both a USB-A style and a USB-C style port (and a headphone jack, yay!) the performance seemed sluggish with external thumb drives. I believe there is an expansion module available that runs off the proprietary Surface charger/expansion port that may provide better performance.
Speaking of that proprietary port - be aware that you will have to pack Microsoft's charger when you take the Surface with you so the vision of slipping your PC into a bag or briefcase without taking up any additional room is only realizable if you don't need to charge during the day. I've gotten used packing a single USB-C style charger to keep multiple electronics juiced up but that won't work for the Surface.
All in all this product is a pleasure to use and attractive to look at. I recommend that you put this one high on your list if you're looking for a slim-and-light computing solution.

The Bissell Spinwave is an attempt to leverage their extremely effective handheld mop functionality in a robot that also functions as a vacuum.
The unit is solidly built with a satisfying heft and attention to some areas where other robots come up short. The drive wheels are bigger than their competitors and have a very effective tread, In fact, there are times that I wished it would choose to turn and go in another direction but instead it uses its superior traction to forge ahead and that gets it into trouble! (area rugs are this thing's Achilles heel). The exchangeable debris tank and wet tank are well designed and easy to swap. They have included spare brushes and a filter in the box along with a sample size bottle of cleaning fluid which is greatly appreciated.
I was able to unbox the unit, assemble its charging base (which BTW is larger than I was expecting due to needing a plastic pad to park on when it returns with wet and dirty brushes after mopping), load the app and link the robot to my WiFi and have the unit parked and charging in about 20 minutes!
The app is pretty basic and easy to use. It has a scheduling feature and collects historical info on the SpinWave's cleaning.
The navigation needs some work in order to put it on par with competitive units. You really need to be able to define "no-fly zones" in your space in order to trust the automated (unattended) cleaning functions. The unit is solidly built with a satisfying heft and attention to some areas where other robots come up short. The drive wheels are bigger than their competitors and have a very effective tread, In fact, there are times that I wished it would choose to turn and go in another direction but instead it uses its superior traction to forge ahead and that gets it into trouble! (area rugs are this thing's Achilles heel). The exchangeable debris tank and wet tank are well designed and easy to swap. They have included spare brushes and a filter in the box along with a sample size bottle of cleaning fluid which is greatly appreciated.
I was able to unbox the unit, assemble its charging base (which BTW is larger than I was expecting due to needing a plastic pad to park on when it returns with wet and dirty brushes after mopping), load the app and link the robot to my WiFi and have the unit parked and charging in about 20 minutes!
The app is pretty basic and easy to use. It has a scheduling feature and collects historical info on the SpinWave's cleaning.
The navigation needs some work in order to put it on par with competitive units. You really need to be able to define "no-fly zones" in your space in order to trust the automated (unattended) cleaning functions. We were looking for a coffee pot to use at the cabin when I came across the Mr. Coffee Pod + 10 Cup Combo Brewer with Thermal Carafe. I wasn't too sure how the thermal carafe would compare to our existing glass pot with a warming burner but I was attracted to the idea of having the K-cup alternative incorporated into a traditional coffee pot.
The appliance itself is solidly built and I went from box to first cup of coffee in about 20 minutes. The control panel is intuitive and feels good to the touch. I had to scramble to find some paper filters as we were used to a metal mesh filter (which I believe is available as an option). The unit also has a built-in water filter that took a few seconds to suss out but is functional. According to the documentation we will need to replace it every 30 days or 30 pots which will be a bit tedious.
Let me state emphatically that my concerns about the thermal carafe were totally put to rest. This thing keeps your coffee hot for a LONG time! My only complaint is that pouring from it is pretty slow but I'll take that over the spilling that our old glass pot did when it was full!
The K-cup option is less impressive. I don't know what I was expecting but you have to use a special insert that replaces the filter and I can see that becoming a novelty that will become more of a bother than it is worth.
So, overall, this is a good product, easy to use and deserves consideration if you are looking for a good cup of coffee from a name that is synonymous with with quality products.

There is no mic stand included. There is a mic mount that follows the familiar U shaped broadcast format. It has both a standard thread and an adapter for smaller mount points.

The unit has Wi-Fi built in. It connected to my 2.4Ghz network without any issues. No special bridging hardware was needed.

The battery is easily removable and has a mini-usb style charging port. I believe it is Lithium Ion and no separate charging stand is needed.

what are the dimensions of the keypad side? my front door has some designs on it that might be in the way of the keypad.

Does the bolt come out on the right side or the left? My door opens to the left, so I need it to come out on the right side of the outside piece.
The design allows for both right hand and left hand doors. The bolt is notated with an "up" stamp and the mechanism has a locking knob that has emblems on both sides of the interior panel so that you can twist it either clockwise or counter-clockwise to work the bolt.
