I am extremely impressed with my Eufy Smart Lock Touch & Wi-Fi deadbolt. It started when I picked the box up and realized that this unit had the heft that I associate with a serious security product like a door lock.
It continued when I opened the box. Everything you need is included and the inside is divided up into numbered sections that match the included instructions.
The only hiccup I encountered was that I initially installed the wrong app on my android phone - make sure that you download the Eufy SECURITY app or you won't be able register your device which is the critical first step to completing the device configuration and setup. Unlike many other "smart" products that I own this one immediately connected to my home Wi-Fi and everything about the configuration process just worked.
I removed my existing deadbolt and completed the physical install in about thirty minutes. All of the necessary hardware is included and the step-by-step instructions were very easy to follow.
I now have an Internet connected front door entry system that allows me to use the illuminated keypad, or the fingerprint reader, or the smartphone app, or my Google smart speaker to lock and unlock my door! It even keeps a log of all of the lock/unlock events.
If you are even mildly interested in a security solution for your entry ways, you owe it to yourself to a look at Eufy's Smart Lock Touch & Wi-Fi door lock.

Good looking appliance but don't get burned!

We got the GE Calrod 6-Slice Toaster Oven with Convection Bake hoping to consolidate several other appliances and reclaim some counter space.
My first impressions were very good - the unit comes double boxed and packed in Styrofoam for protection and the stainless steel construction is modern looking and sleek.
I also appreciated the controls which are analog style knobs and buttons that can both turn and be pressed to choose your settings and initiate the cooking modes. There is also a small but comprehensive digital display that shows your selected cooking mode and includes a timer and a progress bar that is very useful.
The unit comes with a cooking rack and a baking tray and also an odd looking tool that turns out to be a critical device for removing the hot rack from the toaster oven!
I appreciate that the unit can top out at 450 degrees. My other counter top appliances stop at 400 and the extra heat is useful for broiling or searing food. There are two cooking elements, one at the top and one on the bottom of the oven. The unit will decide which to use based on the cooking mode you select. The convection function has its own button and can be toggled on or off.
My main caution to you is to be VERY careful when the unit is running. The exterior surfaces get extremely hot. Be careful not to burn yourself and make sure that you have lots of clearance around the oven.
Overall this unit is quite versatile and the included convection function allows me to whip things up without having to resort to my full size stove. The GE Toaster oven deserves a spot on your shortlist!

I got the Epson EF11 to use for outdoor movie nights this summer. It is extremely compact with an impressive array of features. This is a 1080p, 16:9 aspect ratio, "Full-HD" projector with two small built-in speakers that do a decent job with your audio. Alternatively, there is an audio output jack you can use to feed an external speaker system. There is a single HDMI, HDCP 1.4, input and one user-accessible USB-A port. Video input abilities through the USB port are very limited.
The light source is a "multi-array" laser diode but the light output is pretty modest - 1000 lumens. I found that it was fairly easy to overwhelm the picture brightness with even a modest amount of ambient light on my 84" Elite screen. I think it will be OK if I wait until well after sundown this summer!
The second limitation that I found is that the manual focus can be difficult to get dialed in. This can result in a slightly soft picture - not unwatchable but not tack sharp either.
The final thing to be aware of is that projector placement is crucial. You must get the projector in just the right spot to fill your screen without having to resort to electronic skew correction. On several occasions I have had to prop a magazine under a section of the rear portion of the projector to get the picture aligned and uniformly focused.
The projector has an impressive array of color adjustments and other tweaks that you can make although it does provide a handful of presets for viewing specific content.
I have mixed feelings about recommending this projector. I do believe that I can overcome the obstacles and have fun with outdoor movies this summer but I would advise anyone considering purchase to make sure you can return it just in case it doesn't fit your expectations.

The Arlo Pro 4 security camera is solidly built and offers a twist - it is truly, completely wireless. Featuring WiFi connectivity and a rechargeable battery that boasts 6 months of battery life(!) the unit can be mounted without regard to network wiring or available power outlets.
The mount is also novel; the two piece assembly features a wall mount base with an incredibly strong magnet that connects to the camera body. This has two major advantages - you can point the camera quickly and easily in almost any direction and it is easy to unmount the unit for charging.
The feature set is rich and comprehensive. The video quality is very good and even though the viewing angle is fairly wide the fish-eye effect has been minimized. Although the camera can stand alone it's advanced features come into play with a subscription to the "Arlo Smart" service. A three month trial is included.
A couple of quick notes - the Arlo App is pretty good although trying to make out details on a smartphone screen can be challenging. One VERY important item is that this device will ONLY connect to a 2.4GHz network. Make sure to change your phone over to the appropriate SSID before you try installing the product. Your frustration level will grow rapidly if you miss this requirement.
Overall the product exceeded my expectations and I would recommend you to put it on your short-list if you are looking for security products.

Crisp, uncolored sound with very good bass.

The Bowers and Wilkens 600 series is their entry level speaker but that doesn't mean that it is compromised. These are solidly built and sound quite impressive.
The combination of a 5" main driver with a Bowers designed decoupled tweeter offers a smooth transition from substantial bass all the way up to the top end. The flat response might take some getting used to but what that meant for me was a completely clean pallet that I could tune in to my personal taste. By applying some EQ from my AV amplifier I was able to easily dial in the perfect sound for my room. These speakers also include a two piece foam bung that you can use in the rear port to further tweak bass in the event that it gets to "boomy" for your space.
My only quibble with these speakers is that the magnets securing the grilles are very weak and they can easily become dislodged. BTW - make sure that you give these some break-in time after you install them. I could actually hear them open up over the course of the first week's listening.
I am so impressed with the sonic fidelity of these that I intend to use them as monitors in my studio. But for now they will stay in my living room for listening to holiday music!
Definitely worth a listen!

Quality build with a futuristic feature set

I've been looking to upgrade my aging, existing smartwatch and the Withings Scanwatch caught my eye. I like the blending of an analog watch face with the small embedded digital display. Unlike my existing watch the Scanwatch is water resistant which is a big plus for me. The black face and band also lend an understated elegance in an age where most smart watches seem to scream "look at me!".
However, the watch's understated exterior does not mean that it's capabilities are limited at all. In fact it includes all the expected workout aids and metrics with pretty good smartphone integration plus a host of forward looking health monitoring features.
You can monitor breathing, heartrate, SPO2 and it even offers an ECG function!
The latter two measurements can be performed anytime by simply holding your hand on the watch face for 30 seconds or so. All of the metrics are captured by the Withings app and can be shared with your healthcare professional.
The watch also monitors your sleep to see if you are getting enough quality rest and also watches for breathing irregularities.
I do have a couple of minor issues with the device The rubber watchband can be a bit uncomfortable and can bind on the clasp when you are trying to put the watch on your wrist. Also, the watch's step-count function varies significantly from both my existing watch and my smartphone app. Withings support FAQ offers an explanation but it is still disconcerting!
Since the watch's software is easily upgraded through the app I am looking forward to additional functionality in the future.
If you're in the market for an advanced smartwatch this one deserves your consideration!

I got the Hoover PowerDash GO because I have a beloved aging cat with a sensitive tummy. She also doesn't always make it back to her litterbox in time. I was looking for something portable that I could quickly grab to clean up her accidents and Hoover has delivered just what I needed.
The unit is well designed and we had it assembled and up and running in minutes after we unboxed it. I am used to a full sized carpet cleaner so at first I was a bit confused by the lack of a clean water tank however once I understood that the cleaning solution was premixed I was ready to go.
We tackled several stains (some that were a couple of days old) to test the unit's cleaning power. The PowerDash offers a generous length electrical cord and hose. The unit boasts great suction and offers two different brush heads for the handheld attachment. You squeeze a handle mounted trigger to dispense the cleaning solution, scrub the stained area and tilt the head slightly forward to suck up the waste water. We were impressed by how well the unit worked.
Everything breaks down easily to rinse things out and there are on-unit areas for securing the hose and the electrical cord when you store it.
The main downside is that the GO uses up cleaning fluid at a pretty good clip. It is also a bit loud while running but I feel that is a fair compromise for the suction power it provides.
In conclusion - this is the product we were looking for and I recommend it for anyone who has similar needs.

I am blown away by Google's Pixel Buds. I have tried several brands in search of the best in-ear product for me but hadn't found them - until now!
The product has the best fit-and-finish of anything I have seen. There is a satisfying heft and shape to the storage/charging case. The hinge feels extremely robust and clicks shut securely. A very important feature when you are carrying them in your pocket. The earbuds themselves snuggle securely into their sockets and are secured magnetically. There are indicator lights both inside and outside the case to indicate charging status. Speaking of charging - you charge the case with a USB-C connection and the case keeps the buds charged.
Google has finally cracked the code with getting the earbuds to fit snugly into your ears. A clever combination of optional ear-tips and a "wing" that you can rotate into the cleft of you ear offers the most comfortable and secure fit I have experienced.
This was the most seamless and easiest Bluetooth pairing I have seen from an app. Granted I was pairing to my PixelXL phone but the experience was utterly flawless. Other vendors need to take a page from Google on this one.
The app is clean and provides all of the status and control I could want (except possibly for providing some equalizer capability) and also keeps the firmware up to date automatically.
The earbuds have no buttons, you control the functions by tapping or swiping and were extremely easy to use. On occasion I do mistime a gesture and inadvertently pause a stream while adjusting the volume but I am getting better with practice.
The sound quality? Very good. Although these earbuds do not offer ANC the snug fit offsets the need for it in my experience. The app does provide an optional feature that conservatively adjusts the volume to accommodate for external noise but I mostly leave it disabled. One option that I do engage is a bass boost that I feel elevates the listening experience a notch. Sound quality is rich and engaging and the earbuds are comfortable for extended listening sessions.
Call handling is simple via touch controls and the built in microphones do an excellent job with your voice.
The personal assistant integration and the notifications options all worked well and add a welcome level of interaction.
In summary - the Pixel Buds are the product I have been waiting for and I highly recommend that you take a look!

Sennheiser has a reputation for quality sound and these headphones do not disappoint! The 450BTs are solidly built and come with everything you need in the box. They also offer good battery life - I have yet to have them go dead on me even after a couple of days of steady use. I really appreciate the USB C power connection as almost everything I have now uses that style of supply.
The app loaded and worked fine the first time around. The ability to fine tune via the equalizer function is very good although I found the "normal" setting sounded great! These headphones won't blow you away with exaggerated bass but I actually preferred their more neutral sound. The headband is comfortable and can be easily adjusted.
Sennheiser needs to make a few improvements to really make these a winner. The ear cup openings are on the smallish side. They tend to crowd my ears and thus can get uncomfortably warm and snug if I wear them too long. All of the controls are mounted on the bottom of the right ear and are quite small. You will definitely want to download the Users Manual from the website as the included quick-start guide is really not sufficient to even get you started.
There is also occasionally a very low level hiss when the ANC is engaged. The ANC itself is alright but not reference quality.
Finally, there can be a distinct delay between button presses and the actual function occurring. On certain content I have also encountered some lip sync issues but that tended to disappear if I turned off the equalizing functions.
Overall, these headphones offer quality sound with a long battery life. Make sure you can try them out to decide if their fit will be comfortable for you before you buy.

I am very happy with my Lorex - Indoor 1080p Wi-Fi Network Security Camera. The product comes with everything you need in the box and the on-line setup and app worked first time out! I was able to register the device, do a firmware update and connect to my Wi-Fi without any issues. I was able to go from box to fully functioning in about 15 minutes!
The device offers high definition, wide-angle video that you can view in real time in the app AND record to an internal (provided) memory card that is expandable. This is great because it means you don't have to buy an expensive monitoring service in order to use the camera.
The body is made out of high impact plastic and can be mounted in a variety of ways. All of the hardware you need for that is included. You also get two vinyl stickers for your windows to warn the bad guys that you have video surveillance deployed.
You should be aware of a couple of things - the provided power cable is generous but still limits how far you can place the camera from an outlet. Also, if you enable the motion auto-detect capability the app can flood your phone with notifications if anything moves. This can be easily disabled but be aware that the default is to have it on.
Overall the folks at Lorex have created a very good security solution at an excellent price.

There is no mic stand included. There is a mic mount that follows the familiar U shaped broadcast format. It has both a standard thread and an adapter for smaller mount points.

The unit has Wi-Fi built in. It connected to my 2.4Ghz network without any issues. No special bridging hardware was needed.

The battery is easily removable and has a mini-usb style charging port. I believe it is Lithium Ion and no separate charging stand is needed.

what are the dimensions of the keypad side? my front door has some designs on it that might be in the way of the keypad.

Does the bolt come out on the right side or the left? My door opens to the left, so I need it to come out on the right side of the outside piece.
The design allows for both right hand and left hand doors. The bolt is notated with an "up" stamp and the mechanism has a locking knob that has emblems on both sides of the interior panel so that you can twist it either clockwise or counter-clockwise to work the bolt.
