Great everyday vacuum without strings attached

I received the Rocket Complete last year and was so impressed with its compact size, features, and cleaning ability, but wished it was not tethered down by an electric cord. The Shark IONFlex DuoClean offered a chance to vacuum freely, and I was curious how it would compare with the Rocket Complete. I ended up being pretty impressed with this cordless vacuum.
Assembly/preperation
As with most modern vacuums, no tools are required for assembly. There is a quick start guide, but it is not really necessary.
The batteries must be charged before use and discharged fully before recharging to condition the batteries. There are two batteries included and 3 different ways to charge them: in the unit, on the charging base, or directly to the charging cable. I noticed the manual states that all three lights will be lit once fully charged, but this is inaccurate. All three led lights will become dark and no longer blink once fully charged (see photo).

I first used the vacuum on the Carpet/Max Power setting on medium length carpet, and one battery lasted about 13 minutes. I found the suction power was very good and it picked up about as much dust/dirt as any corded vacuum.

I then used the vacuum on the hard floors using Floor/Extend Runtime, but did not determine the battery life due to completing the task. I like how the spinning brushes turn at a slow rate to loosen dirt, but not fast enough to scratch the floor surface. This allows this vacuum to clean better than any corded vacuum I have used with the brush turned off.
Storage/Maintenance
The problem with many stick vacuums is that they cannot stand upright. With Shark’s Multiflex lock, you can fold the vacuum in half and leave it standing or carry it to the next room with the built in handle. This is a great improvement over the Rocket Complete, where you must remove the vacuum from the wand or hang it on the wall.

I was disappointed to find this vacuum does not have a quick pull-release for the hard bristle spinning brush like the corded Rocket Complete has. I have to often remove hair wrapped around the brush and removing the brush made this task a lot easier.

Overall I would recommend this vacuum for everyday cleaning. It cleans as well as corded vacuums on carpet and even better on hard surfaces. Even though the battery does not last long, Shark provided two batteries, unlike its competitor. The two batteries combined should last long enough to do a deep cleaning for about 4 good sized rooms.

Blends quietly and thoroughly, but made of plastic

I was very excited to receive this blender since I was no longer happy with my Black & Decker blender. Even though my previous blender was made of quality materials, such as a solid metal base and glass canister, it was very loud and it would take a lot of shaking/stirring to ensure the ice was completely crushed. The Vitamix Explorian Series blender solved this problem.

I have only made smoothies with this blender so far, so I won’t be able to review its soup making abilities. I have made frozen coffee and banana smoothies and was amazed at how well this blender crushed the ice and how quiet it was. I did not even have to tap the canister or use the tamper. I am a little puzzled why this blender has an on/off switch, since you are supposed to start the blender at the lowest setting and gradually increase the speed. It just adds one extra step when slowing the blender down to then turn it off. I would prefer for the dial to start at zero and gradually increase the speed from there.

I was mostly disappointed in the quality of materials Vitamix decided to use on this blender. For such a premium product, I would expect a metal blender and glass canister, but the base and canister/lid is made of plastic and rubber.

I was also disappointed in the use of rubber hooks on each side of the canister to hold the lid in place. I’d prefer to be able to remove the lid with one hand, and despite the two hooks, the lid is not watertight.
I should mention that the canister sits on the base without any mechanism to hold it in place, requiring a hand to hold the canister down. I did not find this to be a problem since the blender crushed the ice so quickly.

I would recommend this blender to anyone who wants a quiet, powerful blender. Even though I criticize the company for using flimsy materials, I applaud them on the superior engineering. This has been the best blender I have used, just not the best looking.

Good Blu-Ray Player, But Lacks Many Features

Setup was a breeze, with easy-to-follow menus. You can connect via Ethernet or WiFi. There are two HDMI outputs: one for newer receivers and TVs and one for older receivers to connect audio only.
For an entry-level Blu-Ray player, this does a great job of making movies look better, compared to my previous players. It was also quiet and loaded discs quickly.
I was disappointed in the lack of apps and ability to stream from other sources. Since I already have a TV that includes these features, this was not an issue for me, but I wanted to note this just in case you expect this Blu-Ray player to upgrade your entertainment center.

Fair Workout Bluetooth Headset

I own multiple pairs of Bluetooth and corded headphones; each serves a different and specific function. Throughout my search for the best headphones, I’ve found that there is not one set of headphones that will suit everyone’s needs.
JLab has done a nice job at designing these headphones to fit the space of the ear without sticking out, and the cord neatly wraps around the ears to create a secure and comfortable fit. I was able to wear sunglasses without the cord interfering with the sunglass stems. The drivers deliver a full and clean sound, but lack hard hitting bass. I believe if JLab used silicone ear pieces with wings like Bose and Sony have, it would greatly improve the bass.
The first set of headphones I received was not balanced, with over 10dB difference between them. The tech support was very helpful and sent a replacement pair quickly, with a hand written apology note. It is nice to have a company really stand behind its product.
The headphones connected quickly and easily. I read that these use a skip-proof technology, but I still had a few issues with my music skipping. They did a better-than-average job at not skipping though.
The headphones are supposed to last over 12 hours, and I would believe it. I listened to music for a couple days and never received a low battery warning. I would rather hear a percentage of battery life or an indicator on my phone, but it was a not big deal since the battery life is great anyway. I made a few phone calls using the headphones, but would prefer a Bluetooth headset instead of headphones for this use. The caller told me I sounded far away, and I thought the same of the caller.
The most disappointing thing about these headphones was the app. I used the burn-in program to break in my headphones, but after a couple days the app stopped working, with the alert, “JLab Audio Burn-in App keeps stopping.” I tried un- and reinstalling the program, but nothing has worked. I would have liked to see what other things the app could offer, but I never had the chance to explore.

I like these headphones and will continue to use them while running, but I worry about the long-term quality of these since my first headphones were defective, and now the app no longer works. Since these are reasonably priced and the company seems to stand behind their product, I would still recommend giving these a try.

A Great Improvement On an Already Great Mouse

When I purchased my original Logitech Anywhere MX, I was blown away. It was just the right size, and I liked the functionality of the buttons and how the mouse could be used on just about any surface. Thus I was very excited to discover what advances a few years would bring to this mouse, and I was not disappointed.
Logitech has done a great job of improving this already great mouse. If you download the Logitech Options program at http://support.logitech.com/en_us/software/options, you can program the functions of the buttons to meet your individual needs. If you install this program on other computers, regardless whether they operate on Windows or Mac, you can use Logitech Flow to move the mouse from one monitor to another for up to three devices. I could copy a file from one device and move it to another. I found this feature to be mind blowing! I was hoping I could use this option on my phone, but there is no Logitech Flow or Options app in the Play Store.
As for the claim that this mouse is more accurate on more surfaces than it predecessors, I never had a problem using the original Anywhere MX mouse on multiple surfaces, nor did I experience any problems with MX Anywhere 2S. I did noticed the unifying receiver has shrunk to half its size (see photo), and it is nice to know that you can just use Bluetooth instead.
I am most happy with the rechargeable internal battery, which is advertised to last up to 70 days, but I have not owned this mouse long enough to test that claim.
I would recommend this mouse to anyone. It works very well, is not bulky, can be configured to suit any need, can be used to share files for up to three computers, can connect to just about any device via Bluetooth (even a phone), has a long-life rechargeable battery, and can be used anywhere. The only things that could be improved is adding a Logitech Flow/Option app, making the power switch on the bottom a little easier to toggle, having a place to store the unifying receiver on the mouse, and including a nice zip-up case, as the previous version did (see photo).

Great Bluetooth speaker with power bank

This Bluetooth speaker almost has it all. It is a little on the large side, but I believe the sound quality would be impacted if it were any smaller. I read a few reviews complaining about the weight, but it is less than 8 pounds, and I thought it felt light. This Bluetooth speaker claims to be able to maintain a connection up to 100 feet, but I noticed the music cutting out at 50 feet.

I listened to various types of music and noticed one flaw: even though this unit has two tweeters, two mid ranged speakers (drivers), and one subwoofer, I had a hard time noticing the drivers. It seems as if Nyne tuned the drivers to the lower end to compliment the subwoofer. I don’t consider this a big negative, but I kept feeling like something within the music was missing.

Conclusion
Even though this Bluetooth speaker does not have a full sound, in my opinion, and has no app to personalize the listening experience, I would recommend this speaker. I love the power bank, the loud volume it can produce, and that it is rugged. These features combined with the reasonable price make it worth owning.

Great sound system with many features

I am very pleased with this sound system: the speaker is well made, with a sleek remote to control it.
Set up:
The user manual is abbreviated, but is well written with QR barcodes linked to the full manual. There is also a QR barcode to download the Samsung Multiroom app via Google Play or the Apple App Store. I quickly connected my phone to the speaker via Bluetooth and WiFi and connected the TV to the soundbar via the provided optical cable. Using a WiFi connection within the app, I was able to update the soundbar software and link my Amazon music. I was pleased to discover the app had an equalizer, since many speaker apps I have downloaded lack this feature. The app even allowed me to play the sound from another TV in a different room connected to WiFi. I am not sure when I would use this, but it is a neat feature.
Sound:
The sound was great for a soundbar, but I did not feel as wrapped around in sound as with my 5.1 system, which was not a surprise. The incorporated subwoofer didn’t have an earth shaking sound that a 12 inch subwoofer would produce, but the mids and highs were full and clear. I read that you can connect an external subwoofer to this soundbar wirelessly, but I am not planning on doing this.
Conclusion:
This soundbar is a great alternative to individual speakers connected to a receiver, if you want a simple setup without wires. I would recommend this system for a bedroom or living room to produce a clean look with great sound, but I would stick to a receiver/speaker system for a home theater room.

Awesome grill and griddle in one

I really enjoyed using this grill. It has so many features that I used this to replace my old griddle.
How I used it so far
For breakfast I used the flat plates and opened the hinge so that I could cook pancakes (see photo). I was able to easily fit 3 pancakes (1/4 cup batter) on each plate. Both plates were set to 300°F and the griddle signaled when each plate reached the desired temperature. I noticed that the pancakes cooked at the same rate, no matter where it was located on either plate.
For dinner, I used the grill plates to make steak fajitas. I set the grill to 450°F and cooked both sides at once, with the lid closed, in under 6 minutes. The steak was expertly well done, with picture-perfect sear marks. The grill did steam quite a bit, so I would recommend cooking under a vented hood or open space.
We also plan to purchase the sold-separately waffle plates, although due to the design we wouldn’t be able to make the traditional flipped Belgian waffle.
App
DeLonghi has a very nice app that gives ideas for the proper settings and cook times for many different kinds of foods. There are even recipes and preparation instructions, but I noticed the INGREDIENTS tab only has the picture of the food with a cook time and serving size. I assume DeLonghi plans to update the app soon to include the actual ingredients.

Cleanup
The drip pan did a great job of catching the dripping from both plates. The plates were very easy to wash, since the plates have a Teflon coating. I did notice some splatter on the controls, but it was easily wiped off with a damp washcloth.

To summarize, I highly recommend this grill. It cooks evenly, is easy to clean up, and is very versatile. Really the only con I can think of is that the waffle plates weren’t included on this model and that they aren’t Belgian waffles.

The best BT headphones for easy listening

I own many different headphones, and use each one depending on activity and music genre. This is my first over-the-ear type headphone, and I was very impressed. I am not an audiophile, but I do appreciate a great music listening experience, and these deliver.
These are promoted as being the first all digital Bluetooth headphones without relying on digital to analog conversion. Even though I cannot say if this technology makes music sound better, I can say these headphones sound amazingly crystal clear. The sound was so great, that many songs sounded as if they were remastered or even rerecorded. I read that these headphones can reproduce Hi-Res audio when connected to a computer or other digital playback device using the included USB cable, but I didn’t notice a difference.
These headphones are now my first pick to listen to classic rock and instrumental music. I could not believe how much better those songs sounded compared to the other headphones I own.
The adjustable band allows these headphones to fit any size. The Bluetooth connection is made easy with NFC (narrow field communication). Just touch your NTC enabled phone to the NFC symbol and you are all set up. The controls are easy to use and well placed, but I would accidentally hit the pause/play/phone sensor if I lifted the ear pad to have a conversation. The volume up/down buttons can be held in place to skip or repeat a song. The LED lights on the side can mean so many things (you can read about this in the manual), but I use them only to see how much battery is left.
There are a few improvements I would like to see Audio-Technica make:
1. An optional 3.5 mm stereo connector added.
2. Another driver for bass.
3. Allow wall-charging while using (charge while listening on the computer).

Even though you can use these for a phone call, I would recommend a Bluetooth headset instead. The caller sounded distant and said I sounded the same. I would not use my Jawbone to listen to music, nor would I use these on a conference call, but it is a nice feature if needed.

These headphones are pricey, but worth the money. I would recommend these for easy listening and passive sound blocking. However, do not purchase these if you are looking for a lot of bass and distortion.

Works great after frustrating Wi-Fi setup

Wall installation was easy and straightforward if you have basic electrical knowledge. It is important to know this dimmer can only be used on a single pole light switch (one switch controls one set of lights). Installation is as follows:
1. Turn off breaker to light switch.
2. Take off face plate and unscrew old switch.
3. Test for any other live wires within box using voltage detector to prevent electrocution.
4. Remove wires from old switch.
5. Attach green wire to bare copper wire (ground).
6. Attach white wire to white wire (neutral).
7. Attach the black wire with the lighting bolt icon to black wire for power source.
8. Attach the other black wire with light bulb to black wire to light source (load).
9. Carefully push all wires back in place, replace screws and turn breaker back on.

Note: Wires in your home may be different colors or even wired incorrectly. If in doubt, hire a professional.
After testing to make sure the light turns on manually, download the WEMO app. I had a glitch occur during initial setup and was very frustrated with the setup process. In order to prevent others from being equally frustrated, I would perform the following before connecting your phone to the dimmer, via a temporary Wi-Fi signal, and opening the app on your phone.
1. Forget all your WiFi networks on your phone. (Note: Dimmer uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi)
2. Turn off smart connect (feature which phone auto connects to cellular data when no internet is detected).
3. Unplug/turn off any router extenders. (setup app does not show “_ext” and I think I selected the router extender which may have caused the glitch)
4. Disable cellular connection.
5. Disable Bluetooth.

The glitch during setup caused no devices to show up within the app. I followed the directions within the WEMO app to “Reset Your Dimmer’s Wi-Fi” and “Factory Restore Your Dimmer,” and neither reset fixed the problem. After speaking with a service representative, it occurred to me that you must also clear the WEMO app’s “Cache” and “Data” in the apps setting. Even though I should have known this, I think the company should include that in the reset directions.
After a successful app install, I found the app easy to use and very responsive to commands on Wi-Fi. I did notice a couple second delay when I used the cellular connection, but that was to be expected. The app has many features to customize the lights, such as an adjustable timer to fade out to sleep, a night mode, a programmable “Rule” control, and a manual dimmer and off button. You can even do more customizations by connecting to IFTTT and Nest.
I would not recommend this product since the WEMO uses Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth for setup and so many steps need to be completed to be successful. Another option WEMO could have used was the WPS on the router to establish the connection. I did select to save the Wi-Fi settings, so maybe I would not have to go through this again for additional devices.

Are you able to put your eye prescription on the frames?
You can have prescription lenses installed. However, you must have Ray-Ban install the lenses for the warranty to remain valid (per Ray-Ban website).

There is no need for a dimmer for this unit. The app allows you to dim the light without the need for a switch.

what does the medium size mean? for heights 5'4 - 6'3?
If your height is between 5 foot 4 inches and 6 foot 3 inches, then the medium boots should be the correct size. If the boot size is too small, the compression will not reach the upper thigh. If too long, then I would imagine the boot would push down on the feet and pushing too high on the inner thigh.

When using the charging case to obtain a wired signal such as PC or a laptop, is the internal microphone still operative?
Your question is awesome and made me want to find out. To test, I made a Duo call to my wife using my laptop. I thought disabling my laptop's mic would cause no sound to be transmitted, so I kept it active and walked 30 feet away from my computer into another room. I could hear my wife fine, but she could not hear me. So, in this test, I can conclude the mic on these earbuds do not work while there is an active Bluetooth connection with the charging case.

The question prior was asked if this is for a pair of dumbbells. An individual stated they reached the company and was for a set. Does that mean a set is a pair? Or a set is individual dumbbell set? Please clarify. The website is poorly written.
You receive two complete dumbells (two dumbbells which BOTH have up to 50lbs each). The box it came in weighed over 100lbs. I hope this makes it clear.

Will the dumbells function if there's a power failure with battery depletion?
If for some reason you had a blackout and the base was depleted, then there would be no way for the base to move the inner rod of the dumbbell. You could still use whatever weight was already selected before the depletion and power outage. To be honest, I would not think this should be a concern. If I ran into this situation, I would just hook up the base to a laptop or powerbank to keep the workout going.

Do these take internet?
The dumbbells do not require the internet and connect via Bluetooth via the app on a phone or tablet. If you wanted to do a live training session, your phone or tablet would need to have internet.
