A Cool and Supportive Pillow
on October 8, 2021
Posted by: BPTech
from Ventura, CA
I suffer from terrible neck pain that frequently causes me headaches weekly. I also run very hot at night and always have a fan on and window open. I have tried many pillows over the years from memory foam, down alternative, D-Core pillows from the chiropractor, and none ever seemed to fit the bill. Then comes this pillow. The first few nights sleeping on it, I woke up the most energized I have ever been! I had such a good nights sleep, and no neck pain. Still a couple weeks later, no neck pain after sleeping on this pillow.
The pillow has two sides, a firmer side, and a softer side. I use the softer side mostly, but if I feel off at all, I use the firm side. This is a really nice bonus so you can turn it over to the side that suits you most that night. Also, this thing truly does stay cool. Obviously with a pillow case you don't get that effect as much, but without it, wow, its ice cold. Also appreciate that the cover comes off for easy washing.
I hope this thing lasts for over a year! If so, I will definitely be buying more when they start to lose their shape.

Decent Headphones for the Price
on September 24, 2021

I would like to start off by mentioning I am an audophile so I may be a little more harsh in my review. With that, for the average Joe/Jill, these headphones will most likely fit the bill for you if you are looking for something to wear on a walk, while cleaning around the house etc. But if you are picky like me, then you will most likely pass on these. Here are the pro's and cons.
PROS:
- Nice carrying case and long battery life off one charge.
- Memory foam option for the earbud tips is nice, they were my favorite out of the selections available that came with the product.
- Bluetooth 5.0 is always a plus
- Pretty decent mids and highs.
CONS
- Terrible using it outside for phone conversations. I was on a phone call with these in, and no one could hear me, they said I was quiet, they could hear everything outside, do not recommend for this.
- Lack of bass. Yeah they are earbuds but I have other earbuds with much more oopmh than these. These thing barely output bass.
- Sound quality is average at best. It is a little bit small of a sound coming out of these, would be nice to have bigger drivers.
- They don't stay in my ear very well. I am constantly having to adjust these and when I do, it pauses my music or activates some feature I did not want.
- Touch bar is finnicky. Just a mere accidental touch does something to your music.

Interesting Concept with some Flaws
on August 31, 2021

I suffer from chronic pain in my neck and back and shoulders. I also have issues with my wrists from having a desk job and typing all day. So I was excited to see a product that might help with that pain that I experience. I will start by saying that it does work for some bouts of pain, but not everything.
On my wrists, this worked very well, it definitely lowered the pain level and my wrists felt great after. Also on my elbow it helped quite a bit with some muscle tension. On my neck.... eh? It was ok, it didn't help that much but a little bit, but my neck is very stubborn. This device is hard to use on different areas of the body with the adhesive they provide. For me, it doesn't stick that well, maybe it's user error.
Also, the bracelet they provide is very weird in design. It does not clasp very well and I find it just randomly falling off because the clasp comes loose. I have tried fussing with it, but it has a mind of its own! It definitely needs a redesigned bracelet for it to be very useful.
The battery life is good, lasts about an hour before a full charge so you can get a few uses out of it on different body parts before a charge is needed.
I also wish for the price you got two of these, it would be a lot more useful to have 2 to target two areas at once.
Perhaps a newer revision of the product in the future will yield better results, but for now, if you are desperate for pain relief and willing to try anything, give it a shot, it's not for everyone, but a interesting concept none the less.

An Essential for any Gamer/WFH Setup
on July 23, 2021

I have been needing a battery backup for ages, especially this year since I pretty much WFH all the time now and also built a new gaming set up and desk. Then comes along this APC gaming battery backup... in WHITE!! Thank you APC for making a version in white, as my entire gaming set up is a cool white with RGB. Now aside from how sleek and sexy this thing is and how it has RGB on it in the front and back (so nice) lets talk about what it is actually used for, protecting your equipment and surviving an outage.
You have 10 outlets, 6 of which are backed up by the battery, so I plug my router and modem into it along with a monitor and my gaming rig (and work laptop). With all that running at once, I am getting 20-25 minutes of battery time which is pretty good for a tiny portable unit like this, I am very impressed. I of course have tested it in many ways, first, the built in battery test, no hiccups at all. I then unplugged the unit from the wall, not a hiccup. Next I turned the power off on my circuit breaker, same thing, no issue, everything kept running as intended. Next will just be a real power outage!
Also, the front USB ports are very nice to have, I can charge my phone and my type-c wireless headphones at the same time which is sweet.
It also comes with a data cable to transfer power readings to a computer, but I have not tested this, but pretty sweet feature.
This is definitely the best battery backup on the market for any gamer or for anyone who WFH now, it is aesthetically pleasing and works like a champ and is covered by a great company with a long history in this technology and a great warranty.

Great Way to Stretch the Back
on July 20, 2021
Posted by: BPTech
from Ventura, CA
I suffer from chronic back and neck pain, and have for a decade. I see a chiropractor every two weeks, have other home treatments, do tai chi, you name it, I do it to help my back and neck. I have a slight case of scoliosis as well that contributes to issues.
I have wanted the chirp wheel for quite a while and was quite jazzed to get it. One of the biggest things I needed was something to stretch the muscles in the back to help the spine move more easily. Using a towel just didn't really do the trick and didn't give me the stretch and openness I needed.
These things are great to just lay on and roll around for a few minutes every day to loosen the back and strengthen the muscles. It actually really does work your core as well, I notice when I am rolling on the wheels, I can feel my core activate, which always leads to better spinal support.
The large wheel is my favorite, along with the medium. The large one I use on my lower to mid back, medium one on the upper back and shoulders (boy it gets my scapula good). Have not found much use for the smallest wheel, still trying to figure it out, sometimes I just lay on it on my neck to stretch it, it also can be used as a posture adjustment in the chair which I have not tried yet.
All in all, great for anyone with chronic back issues.

Decent Entry Level Gaming Headset

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I got these headphones. I am a gamer, and use a sound card as well for gaming because I am also an audiophile. I wasn't expecting top notch audio quality and stunning surround sound, but the only thing that these headphones had lacking was any bass. These are very focused on the higher frequencies such as 15khz+, I mean they have a frequency response rate up to 100khz which is pretty high. It doesn't suit my taste when gaming, it makes everything sound thin and tin like and I don't like that. I want to be immersed in the sound content. I get why they do it, but it's not for me.
The microphone on the headset is good, pretty clear quality with no issues and you can move it up when not using.
Comfort wise, they are pretty comfortable. The headband is very comfortable and they have a cool fabric design. The ear cups, I would not say are the most comfortable things in the world, but I can go a couple hours without too much fatigue. I have had more comfortable headsets that I could wear for much longer.

Blazing Fast Speeds
on June 21, 2021
Posted by: BPTech
from Ventura, CA
So I have a new gaming rig I built last year, but was using an old Samsung NVME SSD (the 980 pro) which only is PCI 3. While it still works amazingly well, I wanted something that would utilize the new PCI 4 capability of my computer. I have a Ryzen 5600X as well and needed something to pair nicely with this. This Samsung NVME drive hits the sweet spot in meeting that mark.
I will admit, I did have issues getting my motherboard to properly read the PCI 4 on all 4 lanes, I had to troubleshoot and found that it was because I swapped it out from PCI3 to 4 in that NVME slot on my mobo, so it confused it, I had to just remove all NVME drives out my computer, boot it, then reseat and voila.
After everything was settled, I used the Samsung data migration tool to migrate my old NVME to the new one. To clone about 500gb of data, it only took 11 minutes which is incredibly fast.
After it was up and running, the benchmarks blew my mind. Getting about 7000 read 5200 write on a constant basis. But honestly, in terms of boot time, not a big difference between PCI3 and 4, and same with loading times of applications. But in terms of game load times, a slight improvement, and also when working with large sets of data to transfer, this thing blows PCI3 cards out of the water.
If you do a lot of gaming, video editing, music production, or just want a future proof massive NVME drive, then this is the drive for you.

SAD is real (seasonal affective disorder) especially when you live by the coast. Sometimes it is gloomy all the time and can really put a downer on things. Especially during DST time. This little lamp provides plenty of lumins, like an absurd amount of them. This thing is BRIGHT! Definitely follow the directions and use it as directed. I use it in the morning when I wake up in the home office to waken up. It definitely helps!

The Best Air Purifier I've Owned
on June 2, 2021
Posted by: BPTech
from Ventura, CA
I am what you would call an air purifier connoisseur. I've had numerous brands and types over the years because I suffer from year long allergies. This however, is my favorite air purifier that I have owned. The air always smells clean, crisp, and pure. The ionizer in this thing helps to eliminate odors from whatever it sinking up your room. The UV will help kill germs and bacteria that also cause odor and illness. The low fan speed on it is very quiet, and high is fairly loud, but I use it to sleep at night which is great in my case. It has an auto mode which detects the air quality and will adjust speed accordingly. This is also a very sleek looking unit. It has a modern aesthetic making it fit into any decor scheme which is a nice bonus. Definitely will be purchasing this brand of air purifiers in the future.

For the Price, needs to be 1440p...
on May 6, 2021
Posted by: BPTech
from Ventura, CA
I am an avid PC gamer, have used gaming monitors for a long time now, and I am very picky about them! I was hesitant about this monitor, solely because it is a 27 inch IPS monitor at only 1080p. I just think 1080p is antiquated now and days, the future is heading towards 1440p and 4k. Once you go to these resolutions, going back to 1080p is a slap in the face.
Let me start off by saying, this monitor took A LOT of tweaking to get right. More than I am used to. The monitor settings themselves leave a lot to be desired. You really don't have much control on the hardware side of editing color tuning, sharpness etc. Really, all you can do is adjust brightness and contrast and color temp and that's it. Frustrating at the least. All the tuning had to be done in the OS level using the Windows color tuner and NVIDIA settings. So after many hours tuning it, I got it to a setting that looked good.
The Bad:
- Not 1440p, only 1080p. Come on, for all the features and size and price point, I do not understand why it is not 1440p.
- Shadows and black levels leave a lot to be desired. This monitor does not handle black levels that well, they tend to be very washed out and light no matter how you adjust your gamma.
- Lack of tuning on the monitor itself
- Wish the buttons were not on the side, would've been nice to have them on the bottom, makes it a pain in a dual monitor VESA set up.
- Painstaking tuning process on the OS.
- The sharpness is not as good as I would like to see on a gaming monitor. In some games, it is difficult to parse text, while on my other (different brand) gaming monitor, the text is very crisp and clear in a good way.
The Good:
- The latency is great, I mean 1ms, 240HZ, you can't get better than that, you won't have any issues in gaming.
- 240 HZ is just beautiful when you are browsing the web. You really aren't going to get benefit from 240HZ while gaming unless you happen to be pulling 240+ FPS on max settings, which I guess you could at 1080p easily now n days.
- Color is indeed vivid with HDR gaming, Cyberpunk 2077 loooks gorgeous.
- VESA mounting on dual monitor arms was a breeze and works great.
All in all, I honestly give it 3.5 stars, but had to round down. I just really am bummed about no 1440p, it really does damper gaming in 2021. And the quality of using the monitor for non-gaming items like office work and web browsing, it is not good at all for that, yes it is a gaming monitor, but it needs to have some versatility too and better handling of shadows and black levels.

Can the OS windows 8 be uninstalled and replaced with windows 7?

I really would like to buy the surface pro 3. I do t like the windows 8 OS, before I buy the product I want to make sure I can uninstall the 8 and replaced it with the 7.
No it isn't possible because of drivers and its a special image of Windows 8.1 the surface uses. Why would you want to put an OS like Windows 7 on a tablet? 8.1 was built for something like this. I was like you once all against 7, but trust me, this device was optimized and built for windows 8.1 and you won't be disappointed.
