Incredible Compression on the Go
on September 6, 2022
Posted by: BPTech
I love Hyperice products, I have their Hyperice Hypervolt Pro 2 which is a fantastic massage gun, so I was very excited to try out the Hyperice Normatetc Go's. I honestly had not much insight into the Normatec products besides knowing that they were compression therapy products, and looked to be quite the cumbersome set up. But these Normatec Go's are most definitely the farthest thing from cumbersome. I can not believe how portable and light and simple this device is, yet how powerful the compression therapy it provides. I brought these on a trip to San Francisco and they fit in my luggage with ease, they fold down to basically flat (besides the electronic box on top of the sleeve) and relived my tired legs after a full day of traveling. The battery life on these is pretty impressive, I am able to get 7-8 15 minute sessions without having to recharge. I LOVE that these are USB type C to charge, this is great as it makes charging these on the go easy, especially how lots of products now are USB C, very ease to charge these wherever. Now these are designed to go on your calves, however, I like to also use these on my forearm. I have tendonitis in my forearms and these really do help a ton in providing night-time relief for that on my arms. The only issue I have with these is that they are hard to snugly put on (legs or arms). I still have been trying to find the best/easiest way to put them on with a snug fit without the help of someone else. The velcro just gets caught very easy on itself making wrapping this thing hard. But, that is really the only complaint I have, other than that, this is a fantastic product that works extremely well. My legs and arms have never felt so refreshed and it has helped improve my sleep since I use these before bed.

Pretty Good Gaming Headset
on June 21, 2022
Posted by: BPTech
I have been through the ringer with gaming headsets, tried many over the years. This one still has not replaced my favorite headset, but it was probably the one that came closest to giving it a run for it's money. I have a fair amount of Corsair products in my computer build, so it is nice to have a headset that matches and that you can use the iCue software with. However, the software as many know is buggy at times and sometimes your lighting scenes don't work well. Luckily, the build I am on now, the scenes method works and the RGB syncs with my computer to the headset.
As far as audio quality, this is not a bad headset. It does not have as much bass as I would like and I feel like it is just a little too muddy for my likes. The microphone is good though, pretty clear and crisp audio and no complaints from squad mates! Don't really know how to utilize the dolby audio part, EQ is lack luster in iCue.
My biggest problem with this headset is that it doesn't have a 3.5mm cable. Like. Come on??? USB only is not good, there should always be a 3.5mm option in case USB goes bad. Also, I like to use sound card features and this can only be done with a 3.5mm cable.
If you want 3.5mm don't get this, if you don't care or are on console, go for it.

A Small Vacuum With Big Power
on June 21, 2022
Posted by: BPTech
Everyone knows that Dyson vacuums are the creme de la creme of vacuum cleaners today for the consumer. Dyson continues to innovate in this area and invent new features that I never knew a vacuum could have! This Dyson v12 slim cordless vacuum is a great example of this.
In my house, I have hard wood flooring throughout and only carpet in the bedrooms. This is kind of my biggest gripe with this vacuum is that the roller with the laser is ONLY designed for hardwood floors or tile. So what this means, is when I am done cleaning my hard floors, I have to switch the head out with the one designed for carpets (and hard floors). It would've been really nice if they could just bake the laser tech in with a hybrid roller so you don't have to switch back and forth when cleaning. Besides that, the vacuum works great. The laser is very cool because you truly do see dirt/debris that you can't see with the naked eye (see photos). Also, Dyson has a new technology where it detects how many allergens, dust particles, dust mites and sugar that you pick up every time you use it. It just is more validation that you are getting a good clean. Also, it is nice how in auto mode the vacuum will automatically adjust suction power based on how much dirt/allergens are detected, taking the guess work out.
The mounting kit that is included is nifty, I love being able to store all the attachments on the vacuum and mounting kit and have it charge.
The battery life is ok, I get about 35 minutes on auto mode, sometimes 40, not the best, but it is enough to do a cleaning of my 1000 sqft home on one charge.
The cleaning power is great on this thing, it picks up dirt and dust I never knew existed, even after going over it with my old vacuum, new dirt was found!

Cool RGB Lights with lots of Options
on June 2, 2022
Posted by: BPTech
I have always been a big fan of bias lighting behind TVs. It just adds to the contrast levels of your TV, especially in low lighting such as night time. So I was excited to upgrade my cheap basic RGB one that you can get anywhere really to a smart enabled one. Setting up the strip was very easy, it has very good adhesive that actually you could take off and move around and it still has good sticking action. I have a 65" Vizio and it was able to completely surround the back of the TV with no shortage of coverage, it was the perfect amount. The controller also sticks to the back of the TV and you can mount it anywhere to fit your needs.
Now to the camera functionality. I thought it was kind of odd that a camera would sit on top of my TV and basically watch TV to adjust colors (if set to that mode). It looks like some robot from the 60's portrayed on television, and quite frankly, it is a little concerning having a camera always active, especially now and days with security exploits galore. I don't trust it to be honest, I do not trust that this thing is impenetrable to a hack, and quite frankly, the feature is just gimmicky to me. Did it work? Yes, but not in the way I wanted it to. Sometimes it would be too much and distracting and honestly hurt your eyes depending on what you were watching. Really, it is just a personal preference.
The music sync is cool, you can adjust it as well the lighting schemes, everything is extremely customizable, almost to a fault with how much you can customize the lighting, it gets kind of cumbersome.
The smart home feature with Alexa doesn't work. It worked once, then it just never worked again despite disabling and re-enabling the skill, it just is too unreliable, a real shame. This is the big reason I am knocking off a star, they need to fix this integration so it is more reliable.
Overall, if you love watching movies, TV or having a cool party trick when you're playing music and want a little light show for your guests, you should check this out.

Good Headphones but Quite Uncomfortable...
on May 19, 2022
Posted by: BPTech
I love going to the gym, going for walks, and listening to the music at the same time. I am always on the prowl for a good set of wireless ANC workout earbuds, so I figured to try these new models from Adidas. Just FYI that I am quite an audiophile and specific with how things sound and respond. With that, let's go over the pros and cons of these earbuds.
PROS:
- Easy to set up and use. Set up was a breeze, just unboxed it, opened the lid, it synced automatically to my phone and was ready to use. The touch controls seem to work well, no issues with configuring it in the app or using tap touch features.
- Sound quality is good. Is it great? No, but for workout earbuds with ANC they are pretty good, I would give the quality a 7/10 for sound. The mids just sound a little muddy to me and not as crisp as I would like. Good low end though.
- Auto pause mode when you take one ear bud out. This is nice especially at the gym when you need to take an earbud out to talk to someone, it will automatically pause the music and not do the dreaded mono mode.
- They don't fall out when you work out. While weight lifting and doing cardio never had an issue with these falling out or having to constantly adjust them.
CONS
- Ugh, these get very painful to wear after about 45 min - 1 hour of use. This is quite annoying because my workout's are at least an hour or more, so towards the end of my workout, my inner ear is super sore from the hard plastic these earbuds are made of. The shell just kind of digs into your ear with how it was designed and leaves you wanting to throw these on the floor after they get uncomfortable which is a shame. This is really what prevented this from being a 5 star product in my book.
- The app is buggy. It works for the most part, but for example the EQ feature on the app will not work for me, no matter what I can not adjust the levels.
- Low battery life. Compared to other earbuds I have used with the same features, this has about HALF the battery life. Other brands I own offer 25-40 hours of life and 5 hours per charge on the buds themselves and the rest in the case. This only gives you 15 hours total with 4 in the buds. For the price I expected better battery life.
- Not designed to make phone calls. While I am able to hold a conversation with someone on the other end pretty well, if there is any external noise, like a car, music, even someone talking, they are going to hear it all, there is no active noise cancellation when speaking which I feel should be a feature of headphones this caliber.

The Best Gaming Mouse
on May 4, 2022
Posted by: BPTech
This is truly a one-of-a-kind gaming mouse!! There has been much hype around this mouse and I can see why. The amount of customization on this mouse is, honestly, overwhelming, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you are good with customizing gaming mice to your game and loading profiles, then you won't have any issues here, if you aren't, you will still be able to use the mouse in basic functionality and still have stellar performance with tracking and ease of use. The great thing about this mouse is its versatility. It can be wired, it can be wireless via a dongle or Bluetooth, leaving you with 3 options for your setup. I like using it wirelessly with the dongle, there is basically no latency at all and I have yet to have any issues with using the dongle. The mouse is extremely lightweight (so light that it takes a while to get accustomed to). You can charge it via USB C as well for wireless function which is great. The amount of settings for RGB is insane, you can customize this mouse to look exactly how you want. The best part of all, my KD ratio has gone up since using the mouse ;)

A Good Smart Lock
on May 3, 2022
Posted by: BPTech
If you're like me, you hate having to fumble through your keys to find the key to unlock the deadbolt, or maybe you are also like me and always forget if you locked the door or not, especially on vacations! Well, the Eufy smart lock takes care of both of those problems for me! All in all, this is a pretty great solid smart door lock with a few flaws that prevented me from going out and giving this product 5 stars. I'll highlight the pros and cons to further explain....
PROS:
- 1 year battery life. Now obviously I can not attest if that is true, but if it holds up, that is great.
- Retro-fit install. This is very nice, the only thing you have to do is take off your interior deadbolt lever and place this over it with one of the adapters and that is really it. As long as your deadbolt (without this device) is able to lock without getting caught on something, you won't have an issue with this device.
- Keypad, this is a nice feature and it is nice that you can really put it anywhere you want. You can lock and unlock the door and even scramble the passcode for an extra layer of security.
- Simple to use. You have many options to opening your door with this lock, you can still use your key if lets say the power is out or battery died, you can use your smart watch, you can use your smart phone, you can use the keypad, you can use Alexa, you can utilize geofencing, you can do it all!
CONS:
- The construction of the lock seems slightly cheap. I know everything is going towards plastic now and days because of new laws, but, still.... for a door lock I want it to feel hefty and secure, I worry how long the plastic outer casing will last, but the inner workings are metal.
- The app is buggy... The geofencing technology even though I have it set to always allow my location, works maybe half the time. Sometimes I will come home and the door is still locked and I will have to manually use a code or key which is annoying. Also, the apple watch integration is not good at all, quite frankly it is poo. It rarely displays the correct status of the lock. Example, if the door is unlocked, my watch says it is locked and vice versa. This makes using the watch feature impossible and frustrating. If they can fix these bugs, it would greatly enhance the use of this product.
- I do not like how the batteries are not rechargeable, instead they are C or D batteries, I can not recall which, but that is annoying that you have to yearly change out batteries instead of opting for lithium ion.
Overall, I think most of the issues with this product are something that can easily be resolved with some firmware/software updates. This lock is great for anyone looking for the convenience of coming home and not having to fuss with keys.

A very firm mattress with little give
on February 14, 2022
Posted by: BPTech
from Ventura CA
So I have suffered from chronic back and neck pain for over a decade now and I was excited to try a new mattress that could possibly help alleviate these issues. From the description of the bed, it seemed like a good fit for me and my girlfriend. However, upon receiving the mattress and taking it out of the box and unwrapping it, boy this thing was FIRM like a rock. So we waited 24 hours, it softened up a little but not much. 48 hours went by and it was marginally less firm, but I would give this an 8.5/10 on the firmness scale. If you are looking for plush, this is not your mattress. The top layer of memory foam is just incredibly hard, it does sink, but it's by no means "comfortable" We both did not sleep well and tried out the bed for 1 week but always woke up sore and tired. We switched back to our other memory foam mattress in a box which is much more plush but still supportive. So just a warning, if you hate firm or anything close to firm, do not get this. If you love rock hard beds then this will be for you. However, I can not reccommend it to anyone else, too much pain and loss of sleep caused by it. Also, this mattress is not 10" when I measured it was 8.5-9 depending on the area you measured, which isn't cool. My other mattress from a competitor is 10" and actually measures to this. Also the stiching and the quality of the fabric is not that great, it looks on the cheaper end and the under of the bed just is a wrinkly piece of fabric and the corners not very tight, very loose and floppy stiching.

Great to Protect your Little Ones Ears
on January 27, 2022
Posted by: BPTech
These headphones are pretty well built. They feel nice and solid and they seem that in the hands of a child, they would be able to withstand drops and the occasional throwing of them by a baby. The bluetooth pairing worked well with no issues. The 6 month old seems to love them! The fact that they are volume limited is a great feature to protect young sensitive ears. The blinking light when they are on is also a nice feature to know when the device is on or off. The only downside is that these headphones are a little heavier, most likely due to all the technology in them, but the baby was able to wear them without any fuss.

Not Worth the Price
on December 22, 2021

They are case fans... they should not be $45 a piece. These do not offer a significant advantage for my PC setup in terms of cooling. I have these configured as 3 exhaust fans on the top of the case, they are sleek, but that is about it. Even at an RPM of about 1200, they emit this high pitch hum, its feint, but annoying. They are louder than the OEM case fans that came with my case even at quiet RPMs. When they are at above 1500 RPM, they are LOUD. I can tell they are moving lots of air and I can hear how much pressure is generated, which is good, but man, it's loud. I had to adjust the fan settings in BIOS to get these to run at a lower RPM.
The RGB too is lackluster. It literally is just one single halo ring and that is it of RGB. Nothing on the center piece of the fan motor like most other case fans, nor on the inside of the fan wall, just a single little circle of RGB. Pretty boring, and very dim.
Just get yourself some cheaper RGB fans from other brands that are trusted for half the price...

Can the OS windows 8 be uninstalled and replaced with windows 7?

I really would like to buy the surface pro 3. I do t like the windows 8 OS, before I buy the product I want to make sure I can uninstall the 8 and replaced it with the 7.
No it isn't possible because of drivers and its a special image of Windows 8.1 the surface uses. Why would you want to put an OS like Windows 7 on a tablet? 8.1 was built for something like this. I was like you once all against 7, but trust me, this device was optimized and built for windows 8.1 and you won't be disappointed.
