Good cleaning-But better instructions necessary
on April 22, 2023
Posted by: DJSmooth
Overall
This is one of those brands that doesn't really come to mind while shopping for something. Only seeing it lined up on a shelf with other similar products does one usually recall seeing elsewhere. For the most part, this is an advanced feature rich robot vacuum. With various sensors scattered across the front, rear, bottom, and top with push sensors along the front and sides of the vac, it handles navigating your space with little trouble. it pairs with the Ecovaccs Home app and while I see no connection option in-app, there's a Google assistant connector in Google Home. I can only assume you can use with voice commands. But while offering good options for operation, the bot feels a little "half baked" for lack of a better word.
Features
The T9+ comes with an impressive suite of navigation tools. A first run reveals it’s impressive mapping capabilities. Circling around a room reveals its depth of view and it’s accuracy in mapping. Forgot a box on the floor? The Jet Bot will accurately map around it, whether or not you’re on an initial flooring scan or during a cleaning routine.
To get a sense of how well it mapped, right out of the box before pairing with the app i powered it on and got the button on top to start. It was soon rolling down my hallway vacuuming just about everything. The side brushes handle dust and hair from any fur babies you may have. Except, they leave a little to be desired. At least when compared directly to other manufacturers in the same price range. Once completed, connecting it to the app gave out a well made floor plan, even the random box in it's path. With a floor plan, you’ll unlock map customization options such as virtual boundaries, for both mopping and vacuuming, a 3D map function which I honestly could never make work, and room layouts. Additionally, it takes that same map and creates a WiFi coverage map, which never updated past the first map it created or ever improved accuracy. If any portion of that map is incorrect it allows you to easily edit. Did it map the living room, guest bedroom, guest bathroom and office to room 1? If so, editing would allow you to split them into logical spaces. Guest spaces and office to room 1 while living room to room 2. You might be thinking what's the point? Imagine creating a schedule for 10am when kids are at school and everyone else is at work. That could be an opportune time to vacuume the living room. A second schedule can be made for later in the day such as 7pm for both guest spaces and soho office. It allows as much fine tunning as choosing the order in which the rooms would be cleaned. The air freshener function is a really neat trick this packs. Not only can it disperse whatever scent of smell-good you load into it while cleaning, but you can activate it from it's charging station. The mopping tank gives it some added versatility, but they really need to update some areas in the software.
Performance
Cleaning comes with several options. Quiet, standard, max and max+. When moving from a solid to carpeted surface it's power adjusts to reflect that. It would appear to change up to max, but i haven't felt the need to really test max+ to hear the difference. Navigating across multiple surfaces such as carpet, tile, and vinyl proved to be a simple task.
Battery life seems to go well over 2 hours using standard. Once finished cleaning, it returns to the charging base and empties the trash bin automatically.
Issues
The first, and the most annoying. According to the instructions you're supposed to remove the mop tank when charging. This makes schedules useless for the bot as you need to be present to babysit and remove or swap for the air freshening tank. I would take a function that parks the vacuume next to the charging station rather than return to charge. I mean, it's aware the type of tank you have in it by illuminating the start button either white for vacuume or blue for mop.
The next, no matter what it's doing, the spin brushes never stop spinning. This isn't much of a problem but should be causing more than needed wear on them when not really in use. One example, as it drives up the ramp to reach the charging pins, the brushes are spinning brushing against the hard surface of the ramp and digging into the ramp grooves.
The instructions that come with the bot are lacking in several areas.
Specifics to setting up the mop are non-existent. Details to cleaning solutions, i assume water is the only solution but there isn't anything stated anywhere.
Conclusion
This is a very nice cleaning machine in my home. Despite it’s flaws, it can clean what I need really well. There's a few annoyances i can easily work around.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good audio/picture-A no frills Blu-ray player
on April 18, 2023
Posted by: DJSmooth
Overall
it's a Blu-ray player. Unbox, plug-in power, a non supplied optical cable, a non supplied HDMI cable and you are ready to go after 2-3 clicks of setup. There's nothing really spectacular to speak of. Reading times are quick with a 3 second splash screen when going from home to disc contents. With the right cables, both video and audio are clear and precise.
Considerations
Several things i would have preferred or expected at this price point.
Bundled HDMI cable, 2.0 minimum or 2.1.
Bundled Ethernet cable.
WiFi.
Actual purpose to internet besides updates.
The placement of the buttons on the Blu-ray player feel poorly planned. i hit those a few times handling it's placement on the shelf.
The frame/chassis feels weak/cheap. Certainly something far more brittle than a desktop or gaming console. Maybe on par with the cheapest of laptops.
If you're like me, you have a storage location for excess cables such as for audio and video equipment. What you likely don't have are labeled cables to differentiate a 1.0, 1.4, 2.0 or other spec variation of HDMI cable. You either trial and error what comes out of the bin or compare cables until you find something suitable.
WiFi would have been nice. At least in certain parts of my house, I don't keep Ethernet jacks where there isn't much equipment to use it.
Besides updates, there seems to be little if any reason to connect it to internet. Upon setting it up, it presented a prompt or logo for something called BD-Live. My initial response was to check what that meant in the manual. There was an absence to that function there. I then assumed it meant some kind of streaming function to be able to view the video on another device since I've seen similar functionality across AV equipment. In the end, I found no real explanation to it but came to the conclusion that this model had no real use for Ethernet.
Conclusion
As a Blu-ray player, this meets that functionally perfectly. However, this particular unit brings back memories of the old days, when the VHS or DVD were the standard. You purchased a DVD player or VCR to play that medium and nothing more. That feels somewhat out of touch with the times as just about everything else in your entertainment shelf has a secondary functionally.
If all you need is a Blu-ray player, this is perfect.
If you need more, look elsewhere.
This is worth 4-starts.

Looks well made-Could be better
on February 13, 2023
Posted by: DJSmooth
Full disclaimer: I've never been a big fan of many Ring or Blink hardware. For one reason or another, they have always pushed me away. That said this will be an unbiased review of the Blink Floodlight Camera.
I have to give credit where credit is due. Setting up this Blink camera was incredibly simple and quick. With just a few clicks and entering in wifi credentials, this unit connected and was ready to go within minutes. But I have to point out that this process didn't work on an Android device. After scanning the QR code and being promted to pair with the camera, it's own WiFi network, it would always crash with a seemingly generic error message. After 2 attempts at getting it paired on Android I gave the iOS app a shot. Within a minute or two, it was paired and connected to my network. I'm not entirely sure why i couldn't pair with an Android device. Faulty or user error?
Install is a simple 3 wire connection, just like any other light fixture you already have at home, live, neutral, and ground. But if you don't have an existing light fixture to replace with this floodlight, install may take you a little while longer. It supports both ceiling and wall mounting.
Once mounted I configured motion detection to get a feel for both recording quality and light output. This surpassed my expectations as the light is extremely bright and easily travels about 30ft and a bit further. Recording was a bit different however. In daylight it is clear and accurate with colors. In a dark room of my house with it's IR sensors was also good. But outdoors at night, not so good. It's as of it's own IR sensors were blinding it. Or perhaps the ambient lighting from everything else around it including the moon.
Motion recording could also use some work. There would appear to be a second or so delay from when it detects something to when it begins saving the video file.
Overall, I love the quality of the camera. From feel to appearance and daytime video quality. But i cannot speak the same about it's nighttime recording, delayed recording or whatever issue prevented me from pairing with an android device.
As is, this is worth 3-stars.

Fantastic-From razor to electric trimmer
on February 4, 2023
Posted by: DJSmooth
This has been a fantastic experience! The build quality is excellent, waterproof, and good battery life. The shave is precise and efficient.
Going into this review, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I haven't owned one of these electric trimmers in over a decade. My first and last electric trimmer was a base model machine. Maybe it was something about it during that time but it just wasn't great. It didn't trim well and frankly would have thought it was dull as it tend to yank more than cut while new. It sat around for a very long time and eventually went missing. A standard razor blade was certainly a much better experience and finding the clubs that ship you razors never made me look back. Fast forward to January 2023 when this shows up and I'm in awe for it's craftsmanship. It looks nice, feels solid, and the blades have individual movement. The light up screen is a nice touch, it's simple yet easy and clear to read. Plus there's a pop up blade that looked interesting, for reaching those hard to reach areas. I quickly unbox it and run through it's instructions to learn about it while ignoring charging. It worked for a brief 5 minutes and gave out. I figured it would have enough juice for a quick run the way most other electronics such as phones, Bluetooth speakers, etc. show up. This wasn't the case and had to put it down for a charge. If I had given up after this first use this would have been a 1-star product review. That's because after I charged it I proceeded to trim the same way I do with a razor and this shaver was yanking a lot more than cutting. I didn't realize that this machine requires you to trim if you've got anything longer than a few millimeters of beard, guessing the norm for any of these types of machines. After trimming I came back to the Norelco and gave it another whirl. Yep, that was the issue was it went through everything easily. I really like the shaping of the blades as they made it easy to go across the chin easily without cutting off my goatee.
The first run I was a little hesitant to try the trimmer, it's design looks a little intimidating, like it will cut you. After giving it a shot along the sideburns I quickly realized it wasn't the case
According to the instructions this is fully waterproof. My testing concluded that it is under a sink, but it makes mention of running it in the shower. An unlikely place I'll ever be using it as I need the aid of a mirror sitting above a water source, such as a sink. My main concern would be the contacts along the bottom of the trimmer. There isn't any type of protection there. I assume as long as you refrain from putting it through water and plugging it in to charge immediately after would be fine. The contacts are recessed so unless you flip the trimmer upside-down you may never have that issue, but sometimes to be aware of.
Overall, this is an excellent shaving experience. The build is fantastic and quality of the trim is excellent. You can't go wrong with this.
This is definitely a 5-star product.

The Nextbase 320XR and Rear Window Camera is the ideal solution for all-around protection on the roads in full HD quality. The front cam captures every detail in 1080p full HD at 30fps, with the aid of a 140° wide viewing angle. It utilizes the latest 2.5" screen with IPS technology for easy menu selection and playback. The 320XR uses the exclusive Click&Go PRO mount with integrated neodymium magnetic power connectors for easy installation and removal using just one hand. The 320XR Rear Window Camera connects to your front facing Dash Cam via a supplied 6.5m cable. It fits directly to your rear window with an easy to install self-adhesive pad. The magnetic, adjustable fixture means that it's suitable for angled windows in cars or more vertical van windows. The Rear Window Camera records in full 1080p HD with a wide 140 degree viewing angle to guard against everything from hit-and-run impacts to knocks and bumps in a car park. The 320XR also includes Intelligent Parking, which automatically starts recording when motion is detected, keeping your car safe when parked. For this feature, we recommend hardwiring in the Dash Cam using the Nextbase Hardwire Kit. Footage must be played back on a PC/Mac using Mynextbase Player or online using the free MyNextbase Cloud service (minimum requirements: Windows 10/OSX 10.9). The 320XR is not Bluetooth, and will NOT sync directly with the MyNextbase cell phone application.

Good-No frills dashcam
on December 16, 2022
Posted by: DJSmooth
This is a pretty average dashcam combo with a good design. In the box you have everything you would really need. The power cable and rear camera cable are more than enough to get by in most vehicles. The design allows for better cable management as the power source for the front camera plugs into the base of the mount. I do question a few design choices on the camera itself such as the file protect button on the bottom. I feel this would have been a better location for the record button. At the time of writing, this camera sits at under $100. At this price point, this is very much worth it. At its MSRP of $180, absolutely not.
Where this thing suffers a bit is in performance, or better said, media delivery. Both image and audio. You might wonder why audio has much to do here. Over the span of about 6 years when I first started using dashcams. I’ve learned that relying solely on the image can sometimes lead to disappointment. If something goes wrong on the road and you need to get another vehicles license plate#, most if not all dashcams do fair to bad when reading text while in motion. I’ve made it a habit of saying it out loud so that the dashcam will also pick it up in case I forget those 7 characters at my next stop. This dashcam has pretty bad audio and it doesn't quite capture a conversation happening in the car. Music playing in the car also sounds quite distorted that you may not recognize what was playing at that moment.
Video is a whole lot better. With stationary objects, any text is clearly visible. Low light picking up enough detail including some texts. Included are some examples during real world use and a comparison of my current dashcam unit.
Overall, it’s a well made combo dashcam with decent video quality. I would recommend someone in the market to consider this unit.

Fantastic value-Good upgrade from laptop
on December 9, 2022
Posted by: DJSmooth
Nice little webcam/mic combo device. The hardware is solid. The included Type-C cable is of good quality and measures about 5’. More than long enough to clip to your screen and plug into your USB port.
Setting it up seems to be plug and play. Plug it in, configure your software, (in OBS pick “Go Mic Video” or “Camera Mic”) and start recording. On the mic itself, there’s a switch to change the direction of audio the mic is to pick up. Either all around or directly in front.
The clip is strong enough to hold from the bezel of a laptop or the edge of a monitor. If you prefer to not clip it, the backside of the clamp has rubber feet to lay it flat on a desk. Alternatively, the base also has a standard 1/4” thread for a tripod or arm mount.
If I had to nitpick something it would have to be the clamp system. I couldn’t really get it on my surface, not because its too big for it but I didn’t want to bring damage to the screen. I was able to clamp onto my monitor but since the bezel is so thin I had trouble getting it on safely.
Maybe this is just me being overprotective of my electronics and there isn’t any issue.
In the end, it’s a quality mic and cam combo that features a good picture and audio quality. Offers several mounting options for ease of use and versatility. All while housed in a sturdy metal frame. It’s a good upgrade to your on-board mic and cameras found on laptops. This is a 4-star product.

Overall Bright, vivid 4K picture-Issues a pain
on November 28, 2022
Posted by: DJSmooth
Overall
Solid camera! Swann has been typically a reputable brand producing good products. The housing is well made, the lighting is bright and camera sees it all, day or night. What's not to love!
Well there is something. I've had the opportunity of reviewing several Swann products, most recently an 8ch enforcer NVR system and I said the same thing then. What Swann refers to as PIR or True Detect is a lot of smoke and mirrors.
In the Box
In the box you’ve got the spotlight camera sitting on top. Next to it all your paper documents from manual, security sticker sheets, Swann cloud offerings booklet, and welcome pamphlet. Lifting those out your mounting hardware from ties, bracket, and screws.
Issues
The first on this list of rolling issues is an odd hour synchronization issue. No matter how many times a the timezone was set, the clock just wouldn't correct itself. This naturally spanned into how it handled recordings. Indicating a recording done at 2AM while the recorded footage was from the afternoon during the day, which typically showed them for different dates. Using the "sync with handset" wouldn't solve it. Eventually, after many attempts to correct it and resetting the device back to factory, the clock
eventually corrected itself.
This was short lived however, it eventually went back to where it was before.
The next is the big issue. No matter what motion detection settings you use or what sensitivity you pick. This camera picks up everything from what I can only assume bugs and other insects, moving trees, and small animals. Setting detection to the lowest value, does nothing to help it. To add to the detection settings, adjustability is a matter of 3 settings in a radio button. Low, Med, and High. The only setting to offer a slider for more fine tunning is the motion activated spotlight duration.
Where it shines
The spotlights are extremely bright. Being in a dark outdoor environment where the details of an object aren't easily visible. Shining the light makes everything within 25'-30' clearly visible. Low light recording is phenomenal as it is very clear.
The Swann security app is very easy to navigate and figure out without much need for the manual.
Conclusion
It's a quality built camera made to a high degree but falls short in the software area.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple speedy setup-Leaves something to be desired
on October 31, 2022
Posted by: DJSmooth
Setup was a breeze. It’s all done through the app but the process is over in a matter of minutes. As soon as I plugged my unit in and clicked “add printer” in the app the printer appeared and was ready to go. You’ll be waiting for the print tests and the alignment process to compete.
The form factor has changed slightly from older budget printers but this is still relatively a small footprint. Printing is quick, at least for documents.
The color is something of an eggshell white which is nice and modern.
The process of scanning using the top lid, document feeder or apparel extremely convenient for anyone working from home.
The ink cartridge type this unit uses are very small, I’m not entirely sure how many sheets these will print or how many more will an XL model add.
This is an overall nice printer all around but there’s a few areas I need to mention.
The top lid to scan pages has no locking mechanism. You just lift it till gravity takes ever and it stays there. A simple bump from the rear is close to enough force to send the lid closing on you. This might be of concern for users placing this on an island or a desk with foot traffic around it.
The rear paper tray is finicky and loading paper doesn’t slide in all on its own. Most of the time you have to press it down into the printer for the feeder rolls to be able to grab it.
The specifications connectivity section states USB 2.0. This is a Type B USB along the back of the printer. Not really to print off your flash drive. (This USB also isn’t included)
(This last one is an entirely opinionated preference) The longer I use HP+, the less I like it. Going in with it the first time almost 2 years ago I didn’t see as many walled off features. Setting this up once more presented so many disclaimers. Opting out seemingly gives you a “dumb” printer.

Excellent-A premium value earbud
on October 24, 2022
Posted by: DJSmooth
These are great and offer superior comfort. I can wear these for hours without discomfort. The retail packaging these came in felt rather basic with a plastic mold cradling the earbuds. The case feels sturdy and will sit relatively still in my pocket. Opening up the case reveals a pair of buds that sit firmly in the base. Flipping over the case while open does not let them fall out. The inside is lined with your standard plastic-like material that every other earbud usually consists of. Charging is done through an included USB-C cable.
Setting them up through the Soundcore app is almost automatic, if not enabled the app asks to turn on Bluetooth, but other than that there’s really no other user input. The app allows customizing the 3-button presses on the earbuds, single press, double, and 2sec hold. They can be tied to play/pause, volume levels, forward/previous tracks, summoning voice assistants, or selecting ambient sounds.
Music packs a punch! Whether you’re listening to rock, rap, jazz, country, or classical, these hit all the tones for those genres. Use the EQ settings in the app for the best audio possible. Pair them off with 30+ hours of battery life, although to be honest I haven’t been able to confirm the marketing claims but don’t doubt them based on what I’ve seen so far.
My 1 and only complaint, after I paired these with a second phone, I couldn’t seem to get them to pair automatically with my first phone. The only way to get them to pair was by searching my Bluetooth settings and disabling Bluetooth on the other phone. In any case, these were still great earbuds.

Quality bright keyboard-With ABS Keycaps
on October 10, 2022
Posted by: DJSmooth
Overall
This shouldn't need to be said at all but Roccat dropped the ball on this one. You’ll need the Roccat Swarm software to make any customization's to your keyboard. I’m not sure why none of the packaging or manual make any mention of it. There’s just a very small and vague section in the manual that says to visit their download page for updates/drivers. That isn’t very clear either as it asks for your product and device model then gives you a download link. But the downloaded file would be called “xxxxx.swarm.zip”. My last Roccat device prominently displayed logos and messages that read “download Swarm”.
With that out there I’ll add that, at least to me, this keyboard seems to have one of the best RGB effects available. Colors are vibrant, spread well, and blends well with the next key.
Features
A neat thing about this keyboard is its 2 levels of pop-out feet. Follow that same space to the other end and you’ll notice the center is gripped with rubber feet, both top and bottom. It gives the keyboard more stability when using it and prevents any kind of undesired movement. The top metal plate is a nice touch and gives the keyboard a sturdier frame. The best thing, you can now swap in your own keycaps as this keyboard now sports cherry stems. Keys on this board are of a smaller size than standard keys, I’ll just refer to them as low profile. Pairing with the Swarm software brings up this keyboard almost automatically, at least for me, automatic and promoted updates. Swarm allows you to customize the look of your keyboard as well as map any of your keys and customize any kind of flashing pattern. Or just set presets already built-in.
Cons
I have 2 issues with this keyboard. The first, the braided USB this uses to connect with your PC is one of those 2 to 1 splitter cables. So you use 2 USB ports on your PC an 1 on the keyboard, but these don’t act as a pass-thru and you lose 1 port. The second, this comes with ABS keycaps by default, meaning your keys will smudge and begin to fade relatively quickly.
Conclusion
This is an overall beautiful keyboard. Whether you’re just looking to type or game on. It’s quick, looks nice, and gives you some customization options to get your work done. It will serve you well. This is a 4-star product.

will the cellular work in Alaska

As long as either one of these carriers offers cell service in the region it should work. The Vosker V150 supports them.

Play PC games with your Xbox Wireless Controller.

With will allow me to play Elder Scrolls Online with an Xbox One control on a pc that I built, and a wireless headset and microphone for my Spanish class?

I can only clearly answer your first question. That is a yes to playing Elder Scrolls Online with this headset. But in order for you to be able to pair it with your computer you will need an Xbox wireless adaptor that you will pair the headset to.
However, I’m not entirely sure if you’d be able to use it for a class once paired to the Xbox adaptor.

If you’re referring to the documentation. You can download a copy from the chefman website. Alternatively, most manufacturers will gladly send you a replacement if your packaging didn’t include it.

Is this compatible with any hp laptop?

It should be. According to the manufacturer, it's compatible with Windows and Mac along with iOS and Android. As long as your HP laptop falls in one of those operating systems you should be OK.

Whats up with the lack of reviews on this, is this a new product? Are the ear cups leather? Is the mic attached or apart of the headset?

Product released a little over a month ago, so it is still fairly new. I believe the lack of reviews is due to people being hesitant by its overall lack of reviews internet wide, not just best buy.
The mic is detachable, picture attached.
The cups are both a synthetic fabric and a faux like leather. The leather covers the outside and synthetic fabric covers the face (or the side that would press against the side of your head).

Easily hang your existing soundbar beneath your wall-mounted flat-panel TV with this Rocketfish™ RF-SBM101 mount that accommodates most soundbars weighing up to 15 lbs. for sturdy support. Steel material provides a durable design.

Can you mount a sound bar ABOVE a tv with this?

You can, just as long as you stick to the weight limits. I believe it really comes down to the soundbar and actual mounting slots on the back of the TV.
