Quality well built product

So this is the second robot vacuum that I have used, and in comparison to the other one this works much better. For reference, I use this in an area of about 1000 sq ft of wood floor on the main level of my home.
First and foremost, you can feel that this is a well built product. The instructions and set up are clear and easy and the vacuum works almost independently as if it has a job to do. It seems to have pretty good suction and navigates the flooring that includes area rugs without much of an issue. I do have a Persian rug that has the fringe sides and it does tend to get caught up on that a little. Also, you need to make sure that there are no power cords that could be in the way. My iRobot got caught up on a power cord running behind a couch and got high centered until it timed out. The remedy for that is to use the included wall barrier so it knows were to stop and turn around.
I have kids, so they leave things out constantly. That said, you need to make sure that things are picked up so you don't have an issue with the iRobot. There are some toys it would push out of the way, but at times it would suck things up and get caught up. This is expected from any self cleaning product, and is more of a reminder vice a complaint.
Another consideration is that the iRobot is mainly a surface cleaning product. It does not clean deeply to get the deep down dirt that can get tracked into your home. That is why I use it on the wooded floors. There it gets awesome traction and in my home there are much less obstacles (again with my kids). But that is just my personal preference. It works just as well on the carpeted floors, but I needed it for the wood floors.
The App is very cool. I have it set to work at a certain time I know nobody will be home and it won't bother anything or anyone. If I need it to run a second time I just go to the app and as long as it had enough time to charge it is good to go.
All and all, this is much nicer than the Bissell product I used before. It definitely works better and is more intuitive when it encounters problems or obstacles in it's path. I would definitely add this to a smart home, it is a simple and effective product and works well for the everyday touch ups you don't have time to do.

Amazing Multi-tasker 2 in 1

Before getting this laptop, I was using an old laptop what had a regular 256 GB HD and 2 GB of RAM. So you can only imagine my excitement when I got this thing in my hands and started seeing the difference!
First off, the screen resolution is amazing. Whatever you use this computer for, be it photography or watching videos, it has amazing detail. Near perfect resolution, and comparable to any high end computer on the market. Personally, I use it for a little bit of everything, to include work related presentations and drafting paperwork in Word. Plus, the screen is a touch screen, which still blows my mind. You never know how much you will use a touch screen until you have one. It give the computer a bit of a tablet feel to it, and I really love the idea of being able to touch the screen to pause a movie or search for a song to play. That is a very cool feature. The picture also goes right to the edges of the screen, so there is no wasted space. Great use of space for sure. Although I have not tried it yet, I am sure it will work with a stylus.
So with the SSD, and increased RAM , this thing moves a lot faster than my old computer. Plus, if you are like me you enjoy doing more than one thing at a time on the computer. So, with the dual core processor it really allows you to multi task without sacrificing performance. It is super fast and says fast for all you fellow multi taskers.
Another cool feature is the fact that you can fold the keyboard onto the back of the monitor part and create a sort of tablet. Since it is so light and thin that it really has the feel of a tablet, and it functions well as a tablet since it works on the same Windows 10 platform some tablets use these days.
The speakers on the computer are pretty decent, and the sound can be pretty loud with little if any distortion. There is not a lot room for speakers in this thing, so the sound is just that much more impressive.
At first thought, I was thinking I would have issues with it because it doesn't have a DVD/CD drive in it. It is set up for USB-C and Thunderbolt connections with is really the way of the future. I do have a lot of things on CDs or DVDs like family pictures, so I would have liked to have that feature. It just means that I will have to get those pictures uploaded to the cloud somewhere since DVD players in the computer are a way of the past. After looking at all the other computers at Best Buy, none of them have DVD drives either, so I guess that is the way things go now. I will likely look for a external device to play the DVDs and see about getting them into the cloud.
I am a fan of biometric security, so when I saw the fingerprint scanner I thought that was a cool feature as well. It is a great substitute for typing your password all the time.
Of course the screen lights up and you can adjust that to meet your needs. But know that the keyboard also has light coming through it which is really cool. It allow you to work in the dark or in areas without much light. Something unexpected, but something I now really like.
Lastly, it has a really decent forward facing camera. It works well for Facetime or Skype, and depending on your connection speed its awesome.
All in all, this is a great computer that is a strong work horse for someone that needs a computer to perform a variety of tasks. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Whole Home Automation

The Samsung Connect 3-Pack is a great way to create a smart home with compatible products. The only catch is that the system will now work with many of the existing products on the market. The ones it works with is a narrow list, so make sure to read it on the Smartthings website to see what will work.
For me, I have a Samsung washer and dryer, 4K TV, and an Amazon Echo. All of these products work will through the three smart hubs installed in my home.
Set up is simple, once you download the app and establish what wifi signal you want to use. Me, I was using Comcast which has a signal big enough to fill a small apartment and has somewhat limited coverage in my home. I say apartment, because I used to live in an apartment at the signal was not strong in that apartment. It is obviously worse in the home I live in, even with a somewhat open floor plan.
What I noticed right away after install was that the signal upstairs (2 floors in my residence) is the same as it is downstairs. This was huge. I placed one hub downstairs off the living room, and one in the opposite corner of the home to link the washer and dryer. The Echo in the kitchen feeds off the hub in the living room. The third hub is in the upstairs loft, which is pretty much centered between all the bedrooms. The connection is solid and reliable. I was really impressed.
My only problem with the system is the fact I cannot connect my security system to it. Samsung has options for alarm systems, but nothing that has home monitoring. You just get a text on your phone and that is it. I might use those to trigger little things like doors the kids should not be in, like the gun safe.
I have a Simplisafe alarm, and I wish the could link to it since it is a wifi/cellular based system. I also want to add a wifi linked door lock and the ones that work with this system are limited to two options I believe. There is only one option for the thermostat, and Nest is not one of them.
I imaging there will be more options with time, but in the meantime I am limited to what Samsung deems worth to be part of their networks. The list is not too bad, but I wish there were more options (hence the four stars). I just got a Garmin watch, so I want to see how that works if it does at all.
All that said, I would still recommend it for its reliability and entire home coverage. That is impressive.

Great Father/Son (or Daughter) Project

My son is big into tech, and I can't say I am not the same way. Also, I am a big Bose fan, as their products are excellent quality for the price. They also make a large variety of products, and to date I have not purchased a single thing that I was not amazed by.
So, in keeping in that mindset, I decided to try out the Bosebuild Speaker Cube as a fun project for my son and I. He loves listening to music and of course like any 12 year old he is really big into YouTube and the like.
So the speaker itself is a simplified deconstructed version of what I would think would be a product they already make. What is unique about this product is the fact you get to put everything together to include the housing box. Then, you get to program it with your iPhone to a certain extent. Most specifically, you get to change the color that emanates from the speaker, and the colors actually play along with the music. Pretty cool effect and nice simple custom design for the novice electronics enthusiast.
You can also change out the paper patterns you place on the speaker in which the light shows through. So at the end of things, you have a custom, high quality, bluetooth speaker that is pretty good size.
And honestly, the best part of all this? The sound quality is definitely on par with their other product lines. The sound is crystal clear and a solid balance of highs, mids and bass. I was expecting it to be a little less quality, more because if the chance of imperfections created by either myself or my son when making it, but it was actually impressive.
For $150 there are a lot of things you can do with your kid. But this is just another option you have to do something truly unique and we enjoyed it. I recommend it to anyone what wants to spend some quality time with their son or daughter.

Extremely versatile quality product

The Lifeproof AQ10 is a quality speaker. I have purchased a few different speakers that have Bluetooth capabilities, and they were Harman Kardon and Bose. When you buy something from those companies, you are going to spend some money, but you are also going to expect a good looking product rich with features and superior sound. The AQ10 is on par with those companies and their products.
Out of the box, the AQ10 feels rugged and has a little bit of a texture to it. Sort of like a spray on bed liner on a pickup, but not as abrasive and definitely more attractive. It has some weight to it, but it is very solid as well. I have accidentally dropped it on a carpeted surface, and once on linoleum, but nothing happened to it at all. I am very careful with things, but it is nice to know it will take a licking if an accident occurs.
As far as the water resistance, I have not tested that to its full ability yet. When something costs $199, you tend to air on the side of caution a little bit. I did try splashing it, but half-heartedly to be honest. But, this past Mother’s Day weekend, I did have it outside playing for hours in the humidity and it never had an issue. I also have used it in the bathroom numerous times without an issue while I showered or while giving the kid a bath. The humidity did not affect anything then either. It is supposed to float, but I have not tried that. Also, I have not tried submerging it under water, but it says it is supposed to work under water as well. The water-proof pocket is a cool idea, but it does not hold a lot. The larger model if this speaker will hold a cellphone they say, but this one hold a lot less. I could see putting an iPod Nano in there to make it a self-contained boom box, that or some case or some credit cards.
The Bluetooth connectivity is flawless. The speaker responds to the button presses instantly and it feels very precise and durable. It is very responsive. The other cool thing is that you can use this thing as a speaker phone for your cellphone! Most on the market will do that now, if you buy something high end. The speaker picks up my voice very clearly, and the person on the other side hears me well. That is one of my favorite features.
The battery life claims to be 13 hours, and I can say I have not come close to that mark yet. I currently have it at about 10 hours of use, and I have not recharged it yet. I am sure it will reach close to the 13 hour mark, and being at 10 is more than enough for me for sure. The battery will last longer than you will, that is for sure.
Finally, the most important part of any speaker is the quality of the sound. This hits the mark, and I would place it right now to any high end speaker on the market. The highs are super crisp, and the bass is something you can actually feel. The mids are very clear as well, so this speaker truly does work flawlessly at all levels. I am not exaggerating; it really does what they say it will and more. If I was going to buy this just for a speaker, it would be worth the price paid for it regardless of it having any of the other features. If you turn the speaker all the way up, you don’t get distortion which is impressive in itself. I really am happy with the sound, and it beats the pants off my Harman Kardon speaker that was a little more expensive. I think this is a great outside or pool side option for someone that has a need or want for that. I would recommend it to anyone that wants a strong, quality and versatile speaker.

Quality Product that is effective

Let me begin by saying this is the Oral B 6000 toothbrush is the first product I have owned by this company as far as toothbrushes, but I have owned many products made by Braun, their parent company that also is a strong household name. This toothbrush replaced a Sonicare one I have used for years. The main difference I feel between the two is that the Oral B toothbrush feels a bit more mechanical, while the Sonicare feels like it vibrates so fast and hard that it shoots the pulse between the teeth. Between the two, I feel they clean about the same, with a slight edge going to the Oral B 6000. I think the rounded head on the Oral B 6000 is able to reach a few more hard to reach areas, specifically the back of my last molars along the gum line and a few areas where plaque tends to build up in my mouth. Also, I feel it reaches in between my teeth a little more than the Sonicare toothbrush.
The biggest difference though is the fact that this toothbrush has Bluetooth and there is an Oral B App that goes along with the toothbrush. The app itself is not as intuitive as it should be, but it is easy enough to work as soon as you try it a few times. The first time I used the toothbrush, I did not have the app on, so I figured it would just register my session and I could look it up later to see the results. No so much. I looked it up afterwards and it did not register the session. So, if you want to use the app, you need to go to timer mode and it will track your session while you brush. That actually is pretty cool, and I like the instant feedback. I especially like the feedback in regards to the pressure sensor as well as the reminders to floss, brush your tongue, and to use mouthwash. There is also an adapter you can buy (does not come with this brush) where you can use the front camera on your and attach your phone to the mirror in your bathroom and get a more specific and individual feedback session for each brushing. I am sure it will work with a car adapter that has a suction cup that will stick on the mirror, but I have not tired this setting yet since I have neither style holder. I am interested in trying it to see what kind of feedback you get and how accurate it is. Pretty cool idea in theory, and I look forward to seeing how well it works.
So far, I have not experimented with the modes, not more than to just cycle through them to feel the difference between the settings. The daily cleaning session is the standard one and it feels great to me and does not apply too much pressure, nor does it feel too abrasive.
You are able to use the same brush for multiple people. Specifically you switch out the toothbrush head. You can individualize your settings, so the brush displays a different color for you when you are brushing, versus your spouse’s settings. I have blue on mine, and when I buy another head, I will set my wife up with a different color. It is completely sanitary as no part of the toothbrush will enter your mouth, just the individual head unit. When you finish, the charging station has four covered holding areas for the brush heads, so no dust or debris will get on your brush head. It is extremely sanitary and safe. Also, the toothbrush heads are easy to switch out, and the charging station will set up on any flat surface and is not obtrusive at all.
I mentioned the charging station, which is a nice part of the package you receive. The second thing you get is the travel case, which also works extremely well and is ideal for travel. It will hold two toothbrush heads and the brushing unit itself with ease. It is functional and durable.
The bottom line for me, is whether or not I would recommend this to a friend over some other brand? I indeed would, based both on experience with a competitor’s product, and through my own individual use. This toothbrush may feel a bit more mechanical, but you cannot argue with the results. You get the fresh from the dentist feeling, and the app will keep you honest and encourage you to brush, floss, brush your tongue, and use mouth wash. It is a great piece of equipment, and a great investment for your oral hygiene.

Top of the Line

I am a big watch person. I liked having an Apple watch, but it I hate a square watch and it felt limited in the tracking department as far as exercise. I liked lots of the different Android wear products, but being a loyal iPhone user they were limited on the features that could be used even when they made the app for the iPhone. I was not going to get a google email account just so I could get a handful of extra notifications.
So, it was between this watch and the Misfit Vapor which is not going to be released until this summer 2017 now. I went and looked at the other Misfit watch that currently is on the market, and they don't even sell it at Best Buy or any other retailors. You can get it online or at Kohls. That was a huge red flag for me, so I decided on the Garmin after checking out the Fenix 3 HR at Best Buy. Seeing the additional features that were being added to the 5X, it was a no brainer.
For a digital watch, it is not very dressy and I am a suit and tie guy by day. I am looking forward to getting a leather band for it for just that reason, but in the meantime it is very comfortable and it tracks everything you need very accurately. I wore a Misfit Ray (great fitness tracker for the money and quality) for a few days with the watch and they were within a 100 steps of each other.
I am still experimenting with the maps on this thing, but wow is it amazing! No wonder these things are so hard to find right now. It is clear why this is the best fitness watch on the market right now.

Welcomed Upgrade

This is my first Dyson, and the V7 Motorhead is a monster inside a small package. There are many things I like about this vacuum, and I will get into that. To give you a little idea about this customer, I live in condo with wood floors with my wife and daughter. I don’t have pets and the main reason I wanted this vacuum is because of how small it is and I have heard good things about Dyson products.
Immediately, the main thing I like about the V7 is the ability to work on a variety of surfaces. It handles the wood floors just as well as the carpet without making any adjustments. It has a long reach, and goes right under tables and the couches with ease. The head swivels intuitively adjusting to the angle you direct it in.
Those are the main things I can say about the inside use, so I decided to try this bad boy out in the car. First, it is portable and you can take the long neck part off the vacuum and use it as a handheld. It is extremely light, and the short extension allows you to get under the seats with ease as well as in the difficult folds and crevasses. Best of all, it actually gets all the dirt because the suction power is very strong. My only comparison is the vacuum you pay $2.00 for 5 minutes worth of time at the car wash. It is just as strong if not stronger, and you are not dragging that nasty hose all over the inside of your newly cleaned car. It cleaned the inside of my car like a champ, and I was extremely impressed.
I mentioned the vacuum was light, which makes it very comfortable to use. We don’t have a lot of area to clean in our place, but wood flooring looks dirty quickly if you leave it alone. Using a upright vacuum before, is a pain because they are very heavy and cumbersome. This is a welcomed replacement. Additionally, the V7 is so quiet! I was using a standard dirt devil handheld vacuum for small messes and crumbs. It is significantly more quiet than that small handheld, and infinitely more quiet than my soon to go in the garbage upright. My daughter is very sensitive to noise, and usually covers her ears when we vacuum. She was fine with the V7 being used in the house and I really liked that.
One thing I really never thought about was the fact this vacuum runs on a battery. This of course means NO CORD! No moving from outlet to outlet to get the whole place clean. No trip hazards as well. Plus, it comes with a docking station you can mount to the wall. I have not had a chance to mount it yet, as I plan to move in the near future. But, the V7 connects easily to the dock and the connection is precise. It is a quality piece of equipment and you can tell the difference in craftsmanship and engineering. The box says the battery will last for 30 minutes, but I have not tested it to that extent yet. I can say it cleaned the whole house, and then I took it to clean the car on one charge. I imagine I use it for at least 20 of those 30 minutes and it did not lose suction.
You know when you have to empty normal handheld vacuums? When you pull out the filter and then you have to peel off all the nasty dust and fuzz as you try and get all of it in the garbage can without making a dust bomb cloud? This vacuum eliminates that. You simply pop the bottom open with one touch and you don’t have to handle the dirt of shake out the container. So far it does not seem to trap dirt inside the container, and it empties without the cloud. I like this because it is much more sanitary.
The price of this vacuum was $399.99 when I got mine, and that puts it in the high category for me. It is in line with some of the better made Shark products. As for the value/dollar ratio, I think this is better than the Shark product line. Mainly because it just feels more substantial and durable. I have not tried the Shark products, but neck to neck that was the deciding factor for me.
I would recommend this vacuum to anyone, it is a great investment and you get what you are paying for.

Simply amazing...

The Logitech Spotlight Presentation remote is something new to me. I have always done presentations standing in front of a computer screen, and I may or may not have had a laser pointer to work with, depending on the venue. In my current position, I do a lot of presentations and typically they are very straight forward power point personations and I have videos in some of them. That said, based on my personal experiences in doing these presentations, this was a game changer for me.
First things first, I tend to walk around a room when I present and get the audience involved. Usually it is not a large room, and the groups ranged between 25-50 people. Keeping that in mind, I can go anywhere in a room and control the presentation. I am not stuck behind a podium hitting the forward key on a keyboard or telling my assistant “next.” And it says 100 feet in the instructions manual, I think I got a little more than that when I was testing it out the first time. I think we tried it at about 120-125.
So, when you use a typical pointer it is usually a laser style pointer. This one is a little different and gives more of a highlight or spotlight effect on the screen. To be honest, it is much more professional looking and gives your presentation a more polished look to it. The first time I tried it, I immediately got compliments on it. Also, my wife immediately stole it from me and is using it at her school in her presentations now!
My favorite option is the ability to play the imbedded videos with ease. It seems like something so simple right? But all of us have seen presentations conducted by professional instructors when they minimize the presentation to play a video they can’t get to work in their hyperlink. Even when the hyperlink is connected properly, they still don’t work half the time. Why can’t you just make the video play right on the screen from a remote? You can with this remote and it is awesome. Again, giving it a polished look to your presentation that others just don’t have.
Finally, depending one what I am presenting, sometimes I can be on a very specific schedule and that means finishing within the allotted time limit. Nothing makes me more upset then the jerk presenting in front of you taking an extra 15 minutes and eating into your time. It is not professional and it can always be avoided. With this remote, you can set reminders for yourself and they come in the form of the remote softly vibrating in your hand. It is not noticeable to your audience and you keep rolling without skipping a beat. So if you know you need to be on slide 20 when you feel the first vibration you placed for the half way marker, you know you are right on time or if you need to speed up or slow down a bit. This is my FAVORITE feature. So subtle, so helpful, and so discrete.
In the beginning of my review, I stated this is a game changer for me. It truly is, and I consider myself to be a good presenter. This really just makes your presentation more interactive as far as bridging the gap between you and the screen it is showing on. Everything that seems logical is now easily done on a device that feels comfortable in your hand. So if you are a presenter, whether it is a regular thing for you or if you work on a team that does a lot of presentations such as HR or a training department. This is a must have tool to have in your tool box. I will never go back to the old way, it would be like taking back my iPhone and carrying a pager. I recommend this to anyone, it is an amazing product.

This is my second pair of wireless earphones, the first being the Bose SoundSport model without the ability to check your pulse. The two vary greatly, so I will do my best to tell you the differences so you can make up your own mind.
Price: The Bose I have cost $150, and if you want to get the model with the pulse checker ability you will pay $200. So they are exactly the same with that respect.
Accessories: Both pairs come with three different earbud sizes, and they both are easy to switch out. They both also come with a handy carrying case to secure the earphones when you are not using them. They are very handy if you want to throw them in a bag and they won’t get dirty or touch anything directly that way. After all, these go in your ears and ears are gross sometimes!
Comfort: Both companies make a great product and the earphones lock into the ear in a very similar manner. The difference is, the JBL’s have the added ear loop that really holds them in place when you do more intense work outs. They REALLY hold. Both are really comfortable and will stay in when you run.
Both products are really light. I love how light they are and they just feel natural and don’t get in your way. The one thing the Bose have that I liked was the length of the cord. The cord is just too short on the JBL’s for me. I like how the Bose have the shirt clip that attach to the back of your collar in case you have one pop out on the extremely rare occasion.
For the JBL’s, the battery is in the microphone located on the cord. It has a 5 hour battery just like the Bose, and there is not much weight to it. The Bose have the battery in the ear pieces, which makes them stick out a little more than the JBL’s. To me, it really makes no difference since the battery is exactly the same.
Pulse: The pulse feature is cool and works really well. I will be honest, I have no way of comparing it to anything else to check it’s accuracy. For me, I am not a super athelete, but the feature is really cool if this is something you require in your work out.
Sound quality: This is what separates the two, as there is really no comparison here. The Bose SoundSports simply have obvious better sound. They have crystal clear highs, mids and bass, and they complement any type of music you listen to from spoken word to Rock or R&B. The JBL’s have solid mids with “okay” highs, and completely non-existent bass. To make sure, I tried adjusting the settings on both my computer and iPhone to see if I could get better sound. Nothing. The sound is equal to some of the high end models of Skull Candy. They are nowhere in the ballpark with Bose or Beats.
The three stars is really just for the sound. With them being the same price as others that have superior sound, they just don’t make it to the same level. I would recommend another brand to a friend for that reason.

Can I pick up merchandise at Best Buy the same day I purchase online
If your local store has it in stock. You will be able to tell that when you go through the online check out process and select the store you want to pick up at. Better chance at a larger store, like the ones that have a huge appliance section. Otherwise, you will have to wait for it to get to the store after you order. And it that case, it would probably better to ship it to your home.

What is the process for making a latte? Is there a separate reservoir for cream or milk and if so, can powdered creamer be used since it won't spoil?
The milk frother (shown in the photo on this site) is a separate device. It is a one serving at a time sort of think. Fill it, pour it, clean it, repeat. So no worry about spoiling or powdered anything. It actually works really well. I was really surprised.

can this accommodate 12 muffins pan?
No. Look at the product page for it on the website. At the bottom it shows the dimensions of the trays it uses. Off the top of my head, I think they are 13" wide. So maybe a half dozen size pan at the most, but definitely not a dozen.

Are the volume and lock buttons easy to push with the case on?
They are super easy to use. I had an otterbox before and those buttons tend to be a little stiff. These are not. They protect the buttons well without compromising ease of use. You will be happy with it.
