Good System But Could Use a Design Update
on November 5, 2017
Posted by: mikeheel
from NC
The SimpliSafe Defend Wireless Home Security System is ridiculously easy to install and seems to work consistently well. It is a little behind the times in terms of design language.
The system includes a base station, which looks somewhat like a lava lamp solidified in white plastic. The base station communicates with all the individual components of the system. It comes with 4 rechargeable batteries already installed, a wall outlet power cable, and two jacks for phone lines. You do not need to use phone lines for the system to work. The base station has a speaker to provide voice directions and warnings, but it is not interactive.
The wall unit looks somewhat like a toddler's toy. The buttons are small, as is the monochrome display screen. But it works fine.
The system includes two motion sensors. The sensors are supposed to be mounted 5 feet above the floor and have basically a 180-degree field of view from side to side. The field extends out 30 feet and also goes down at a 45-degree slope. If you have pets that stay inside, a cheat is that you can mount the motion sensors upside down.  We installed ours at roughly 3 feet above the floor upside down.  They seem to work perfectly fine, and our dogs stay a bit more sane.
The system also comes with one key fob that lets you arm or disarm the system. It works fine, but again, it's not an attractive unit.
The box also includes a user-friendly set of instructions as well as a sign to place in your yard or window.
The system includes 6 entry sensors, which are pretty easy to mount to a door or window. They are a bit more bulky than it seems they need to be, but they work very well.
Overall, that's the primary theme for the system. It works well but needs a serious design refresh.  Frankly, the design looks inspired more by children's toys than by any modern systems.
in term of plans, for about $15/mo, you get basic monitoring, which is a great deal. Add in another $10/mo, and you get smartphone access to settings and managinng your system. I was a bit disappointed there was not an option for free monitoring via cell phone.  Regardless, the plans seem like strong values when compared to other monitoring services out there. Also, there are no contracts; your service is month-to-month.
You can add onto the system with cameras, other sensors, and a variety of other safety sensors (such as smoke, water, or carbon monoxide detectors). That's pretty nice, but the system doesn't play nice with smartthings or a smarthouse setup, which is a shame.
The quick summary is that the system is flexible and functions well but is simply unattractive and doesn't integrate with a smarthome. Fortunately, the appearance of the system does not in any way negatively affect the ability of the system to offer a solid home security option. And that's what this is: a solid home security option. If it were reasonably attractive and had the ability to integrate with any smarthome system, I'd really love it.

I am glad I decided to try out the MyQ Smart Garage Hub by Chamberlain. It works flawlessly thus far, although setup took longer than expected.
The packaging is decent, but the instructions are scant. For instance, nowhere in the printed instructions does it tell you to use wifi on your phone or tablet to connect to the MyQ Hub. It just says to follow the instructions in the app. Unfortunately, the app also lacks helpful instructions, and I resorted to just poking around in the app to try to figure it out. For the record, I was using an Android phone running Oreo.
Speaking of the app, you have to download the MyQ app in order to use the MyQ Hub. Operation can be as simple as just opening and closing the door, or you can set up schedules. You can also tailor how (or if) you receive any alerts about the garage door being open or closed, or both.
Despite a frustrating start with getting setup, once it is up and running, it works great with my Chamberlain garage door opener.
One note, the instructions show that you should mount the Hub on the garage ceiling. That is not necessary. I put in a secure shelf high along the wall, since my garage ceiling is 12 feet high. I felt like it would actually have a better line of sight connection with the sensor that way, and it has worked perfectly.
Once you are up and running, the app takes a little exploration to know how to do things, but it's not too bad to figure out - a lot easier than initial setup!
I like that I can check my garage remotely and close it when I'm away if someone happened to leave it open accidentally. The MyQ provides cheap peace of mind, and for that, I am appreciative.

Awesome Ninja System
on October 22, 2017
Posted by: mikeheel
from NC
I have an older Ninja that has served my family well for several years but was intrigued by the new Ninja Intelli-Sense version. What an amazing kitchen appliance!
Of course, as a Ninja, the system has tons of power and does a tremendous job chopping, dicing, and blending. Ninja has always made a high-quality device, and this is no different in that regard.
But where this is different is the brains behind the unit. I have to admit, I was a little intimidated by the blank face of the touchscreen at first when I peeled of the helpful sticker that showed where all the controls would be.
Turn it on, place one of many included container options on the base, and the Ninja will automatically sense what type of operation you're trying to perform and specific options will light up.
For instance, when I placed the smaller cup on the base, one of the options was "Smoothie," which was exactly what I wanted. I simply pressed the smoothie display on the screen, and the Ninja did the rest. It pulsed off and on for about 45 seconds such that the ice and all other ingrediants were finely blended. It was actually very impressive.
Side note, the smoothie cup with the new Intelli-Sense system is larger than the cups with the older Ninja systems. The contact area on the base is also larger, so you should know attachments from prior systems will not fit on the new Intellli-Sense base.
Of course, you can still use manual controls, which is what I'm used to with my older Ninja. But I can happily report the automatic controls with the Intelli-Sense work as advertised. And the smooth touch-screen face makes for easy wipe-down if you spill anything.
Another slight change is how well the Intelli-Sense locks down on whatever surface it is on. I sat it on the hutch and absently tried to pick it up. It stayed put, and the hutch moved. Unlike prior generations, this one locks down automatically. You unlock it by levers built into the bottom sides. It's actually very natural to pick it up in a way that instantly released the lockdown mode.
Of course, it comes with a ton of options:
- Auto-Spiralizer™
- Ninja Intelli-Sense Kitchen System
- Owner's manual
- Precision Processor™
- Precision processing blade assembly and Dough blade assembly
- Single-serve cup with Pro Extractor Blades® assembly (24-ounce)
- Spaghetti blade disc and Fettuccine blade disc
- Spiralizer cleaning brush
- Spout lid
- Total Crushing® pitcher with stacked blade assembly (72 oz., 64 oz. max liquid capacity)
You can use the Ninja to make anything from smoothies, to mixed drinks, to pasta, to dough, to nut butters, and everything in between. It really is quite an amazing device.
I wish there was an adapter to use componants from older Ninjas, but this is a terrific all-around system, and we absolutely love it.

Chop Chop

The Philips Viva Multi Chopper is an interesting little thing that has, IMO, limited purpose.
It is great for making salsa or guacomole. It's easy to clean. And it is an interesting design.
However, it is not actually all that great for cutting vegatables. This is largely because the instructions tell you to cut the vegatables into small squares yourself before placing them in the Viva. One or two more quick knife cuts would accomplish the same thing, and I'd have one less item to clean.
There are really only two sizes: small and fine. That's better than other devices where the settings are really random and paste. At least the Viva is consistent. It that regard, it is a cut above the other food choppers out there.
If it could get the same results without needing everything to be pre-cut so small, I'd love it. However, that's not the case; so it's value is limited. It is very good at making salsa and guac, but I don't see a lot value in it, otherwise.
As long as you know that, I can recommend it.

Excellent Sound
on October 22, 2017

Wow.
The Sony 1000X headphones are impressive on many levels.
First, sound. This is what headphones are about, after all. And Sony delivers in a major way. These earbud style headphones are a worthy addition to Sony's premium 1000X line. The bass rich and deep. The highs are without distortion. The mids are clear and distinct. As with many headphones these deays, you can customize your sound profile via an app. In this case, the app is the Sony Headphone Connect, available on iOS and Android. The 1000X supports hi-res audio.
Customization. Speaking of the app, there are a lot of cool things you can do. In addition to customizing the type of sound field, you can also customize how you want the noise canceling feature to work. That's pretty cool. There also also two full sets of earbud options included, so you can choose size and and color. That's a pretty nice extra.
Noise Canceling. These little guys do a wondeful job of noise cancelation. I was quite impressed. The noise canceling ability can be custmoized to different environments or even turned off. The amount of noise the 1000X earbuds can block is really eye opening. When paired with the app, the noise canceling function can also adapt to your actvity. It's pretty wild to have the noise canceling dynamicaly adjust as you go from sitting to standing to walking. Of course, you can control that feature or turn it off, if you want.
Form factor. The 1000X earbuds come attached to a wireless neckband. I'm generally not a fan of neckbands, but this is the best neckband syle headphone I've had the pleasure of trying. The band itself is light and comfortably padded. After a minute or two, I no longer noticed it was there. One nice benefit of this style is that the battery, sensors, drivers, etc are stashed in the band rather than being crammed in the earbud itself, which means you get more power and lighter earbuds. Note, the cords to the earbuds do not retract into the band. The cord can we slotted into a groove around the band for storage, but you still have some dangle at the end with the earbuds. I'd rather see the cords retract, but this way works as well as earbuds that don't have a neckband.
Features. In addition to te noise canceling ability, the 1000X have dual drivers, dual microphones, and an industry first: a barometric pressure sensor. This is supposed to adjust both the sound drivers and how the microphone operates on a plane, for instance.
I am very impressed and highly recommend the Sony 1000X Behind-the-Neck Wireless Headphones.

Pour wine without removing the cork by using the Coravin Model Two wine system. The durable needle pierces the cork so you can pour, and then the cork reseals when the needle is removed to preserve the remaining wine. This Coravin Model Two wine system comes with two capsules that let you pour up to 30 glasses of wine.

I really wasn't sure what to think about the Coravin Model Two Wine System, but I am glad I decided to give it a try.
It works as advertised. You use it to pour wine without removing the cork. You place the Coravin on the bottle, press down to insert a long "needle" through the cork, tip the bottle, press the gas release to pour (more presses equals faster and more sustained pour, but you have to find your pace because you have to let it keep pouring until it stops). Then retact the needle, remove the Coravin from the bottle, and rinse it.
Using the Coravin allows you to drink part of a bottle and leave it corked for later consumption. There opens a variety of options. You could sample a rare wine bottle without having to drink the entire thing. You can drink a small amount of several differet wines and not worry about having to finish them off or dump them out.
Personally, I am not huge on wine but enjoy a little from time to time. This means I will feel more comfortable buying more expenisve bottles, since I can easily keep them sealed.
The system is easy to use and easy to clean.
A few minor quibbles:
1. The argon gas cylinders are an ongoing cost.
2. If you want just a few sips, you're going to have a very slow pour.
3. Concerning the instructions, some graphics would benefit from better written explanation.
Other than that, it's a nifty and useful device.

Terrific Inexpensive Projector
on September 30, 2017

I am very pleased with the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 1060 1080p 3LCD Projector. It is a tremenous system, especially for the price.
One thing I particularly appreciated was how bright the image is. It shows up well in bright light and even on colored surfaces.
Video is clear at various ranges and sizes. Of course, it is sharpest at about the equivalent of a 50" screen, but it still looks very good a much larger sizes.
There is no motion blur, even with sports or movies with fight scenes.
The brightness of the image also leads to rich colors and deep blacks. This aids in the clarity of the image.
Sound from the system's speaker, while not tremendous, is much better than I anticipated. Regardless, the audio out works great with a home theater sound system.
Overall, this is a strong value and an excellent system.

Handy But Limited

The Bissell Pet Stain Eraser Bagless Cordless Hand Vac is a handy little thing but lacks the power of larger units.
The small size and easy portability make it ideal for quickly cleaning small messes. Unfortunately, it just doesn't have the power to thoroughly clean larger messes or fully suck liquids from a carpet.
It works great for small spills and accidents that you address immediately. Just know that it can't handle larger jobs or something that has set in.
For the price, it's a good deal and does a good job. If you need to clean heavy-duty stains, you'll need to spend more money for one of Bissell's more muscular cleaners. But this little guy does a good job and should be your first line of defense for everyday messes.

Comfortable Headphones With Great Sound
on September 28, 2017
Posted by: mikeheel
from NC
The Beoplay H4 by Bang & Olufson is a pretty good set of bluetooth headphones with a couple of mild disappointments. I'll start with the good stuff that keep it from being a 5-star product. But the question with headphones is how they sound, and B&O does a very nice job in that regard.
The sound is what B&O calls "Pure Sound" and is extremely good across all ranges, but the H4 really shine in the bass range. Fortunately, the H4 also do a very strong job with vocals and lighter instruments. If the bass weren't so rich, the rest of the range would be strong enough to shine on most headphones. The sound is clean and distinct, albeit not pristine. Overall, listening to any genre of music on the H4 is an enjoyable experience.
Battery life seems very strong, which is also nice.

The Beoplay app allows you to customize the sound field with a digital equalizer, but I found the basic preset to be the best overall sound, anyway.
Charging is via micro USB. I'd prefer USB-C at this point, but that's not a big deal.
The sturdy metal headband is covered with comfortable leather and cloth. The soft over-the-ear cups are wonderfully comfortable and well-marked to make sure you know which side is which. For a full-sized BT headphone, the H4 is pretty light. I did not worry at all about ear fatigue wearing the H4.
Call quality, while not excellent, is acceptable. I'd prefer dual mics with noise cancellation, but it gets the job done.
As for the few negatives:
1. The headphones would not update properly despite several attempts.
2. Initial pairing was a problem until I found a trick online that was not listed anywhere in the instructions. Basically, hold both volume buttons in for 5 seconds, and the headphone will pair easily. Prior to that, it wouldn't pair no matter what I did. As seems to be the norm these days, the included instructions were not especially helpful.
3. The power button has too many functions. Press it to turn on. Press it to bring up Google Assistant or Siri. Press it to answer a phone call. Press and hold it to shut down. Pretty much every time I try to shut down, it pops Google Assistant open on my phone in the process.
4. While the headphones twist flat to lie against your neck, the do not fold up and there is no carrying case. At this price point, I expect both.
5. There is only passive noise canceling. It would be very nice to get active noise canceling.
6. There is not a noise-canceling second mic for phone calls.
7. The package does not include a wall plug, so you either have to pirate one from somewhere else or plug it into a USB outlet.
I know that sounds like I'm very critical of these headphones, but I still rate them as a 4-star product. The sound and comfort are worth 5 stars. The lack of noise canceling and storage options drop it to a four. The power button is an annoyance, but livable once you're up and running.
I'd definitely buy these for the sound if they're on sale. Even if not on sale, the sound quality is strong enough that you won't regret buying them, if you can live with the minor inconveniences noted.

Some Nice Features
on September 20, 2017
Posted by: mikeheel
from NC
The D-Link Omna 180 Cam HD is pretty interesting. It seems clearly designed to blend into the Apple ecosystem (works well with HomeKit), but it now works with Android, too. It's a pretty decent little camera, but it lacks some basic features that reduce its overall value.
First, let me me say setup was unusually difficult. I actually gave up the first day after an hour of trying. It seemed even the reset button didn't work. My plan was to try again the next day and then call the help desk. The last time I called a help desk was more than five years ago now; I can almost always get things to work. The mere fact I was seriously prepared to call the help desk is an indicator of a real problem with setup. To be fair, the Omna works better with Apple products, and I was using my Android phone rather than my iPad.
Once it was up and running, it operates fine. Controls are relatively limited, though. The interface is reasonably intuitive if you use any modern technology. If you're not up to speed with current tech, you should be aware the documentation is very sparse and this might not be the camera for you.
The 180-degree field of view is pretty nice. I was impressed with how much area the camera covers. The camera shoots in 1080p, but I'd say image quality is just ok. It is good enough to do what it needs to do. It does have night-vision, which is helpful. And it has two-way audio, so you can communicate, when necessary.
In order to save video, you have to use a micro-SD card. I would have strongly preferred a cloud storage options. Other similar cameras offer tiered cloud storage options, which comes in very handy. The video only saves in 20-second clips, which seems too short for some situations. Also, the camera is pretty conspicuous. If someone broke in, all they'd have to do is take the camera or the SD card, and you'd have no video.
So, is it worth it? I guess that depends.
The size is good; it's fairly small. It's also attractive, at least in my opinion. Video quality is reasonable. Image quality is good, although there is a dramatic fishbowl effect with the 180-degree view. The lack of cloud storage is an issue. I wouldn't dock it too much for setup despite my complaint above since I don't know if that was an issue with Android or just a random issue; plus it's operated perfectly once setup was complete.
It also doesn't have any sort of battery backup system. So, if your power is off, so is your camera.
Due to the cylindrical design, the Omna is not suited for wall mounting. It needs to sit on a flat surface, which might somewhat limit where you can place it.
You can set it for automatic motion detection, but there is not a geo-fencing option; so you have to change that setting manually every time you want it active. There is also not a timer or a scheduling feature.
Anyway, it works as a basic security camera, but it doesn't wow me and it lacks too many features to make it something I could confidently recommend.

For $200 (on sale) it's well worth the price
By Outlander0088 from Columbus,OH
I bought this tablet for $200 to play around with a Windows 8 tablet. I already have an iPad, iPhone, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. and wanted to give a Windows tablet a try.
I will say I am impressed even though its Windows 8.1, I'm not a fan of 8.1. In desktop mode its easier than I thought it would be navigate with just your finger. However, I would strongly recommend using a stylus.
One big NOTE: It DOESN'T come with Office 2013 Home / Student. You can try Office 365 but then you have to purchase the application. I called Best Buy and Lenovo but they were no help.
I would recommend buying it for the price but don't expect Microsoft Office.
Office
March 8, 2014
I also just purchased this device at BB for $200. If you look through the paperwork inside the box, you should find a paper with an activation code for Office. I used that code and was able to fully active Office. Most Win 8.1 devices, like my Surface Pro, include only a trial, but this actually includes Office. Please correct your review.

Phenomal Deal on a Small Win 8 Tab
By mikeheel from NC
I have been eyeing various 8-inch Windows tablets as they have been released. I was looking for a complimentary device to go along with my Surface Pro. As usual when I am in BB, I walked by the tablet display area and was surprised to see the Miix 2 on sale for $200. After taking a day or two to mull it over, I decided the deal was too good to pass up despite the skimpy memory.
Performance is much better than I expected. The Miix responds quickly and smoothly. Apps and programs open without lag.
The screen was also a pleasant surprise. It is not 1080, so my expectations were a bit low. However, color is very good. Video and pictures render very well.
I saw some reviews that complained about touch response. I have not had any issues in several days of heavy use. I presume there was a software update that addressed that issue, but I have not confirmed that.
Several reviews here at BB seemed confused about Office. The box contains an activation key for Office. It may fool some people into thinking it is the key for Windows itself, but it is for Office. So it does include Office Home & Student for no additional cost.
I also noticed the BB site listed the Miix 2 8 as an RT device. It is not RT; it runs full Windows 8.1.
The tablet itself is attractive and feels relatively well made. I'm not a fan of the stickers on the back, but they can be easily removed. For those who wonder, it does fit in the back pocket of men's jeans or most sport coat pockets.
My only complaint is the 32gb of memory. Of course, I knew that when I purchased it, so I added a 32gb SD card, which helps. The only negative is that Windows does not give you the option to save apps on the memory card. But the combination of the SD card and OneDrive makes even 32gb palatable.
So, the Lenovo Miix 2 8 with full Win 8.1, included Office, snappy performance, and a decent display for just $200 is a solid winner.
If you are the market for a smaller tablet that runs full Windows 8.1, I strongly recommend the Lenovo Miix 2 8.

That key is the same one for Office. If you look just above the sticker, it will say Windows and Office are included. It is confusing, so that's why a lot of folks have thought it did not include Office.
PS: I'm still laughing at myself for the typo on the header. Ugh.

Wanted to Love but Didn't
By mikeheel
I wanted to love the Netgear Orbi system. I really did. But, alas, it was not meant to be.
First, the positives:
1. Impressive speed and wifi coverage. If that's all you're looking for, then the Orbi is a strong contender.
2. Relatively attractive appearance.
3. MU-MIMO ability.
4. USB port and a few LAN ports.
5. Print server function.
6. The satellite unit does make a big difference in terms of signal strength in areas of the house further from the primary router.
The negatives:
1. No guest network. Seriously? I had a hard time believing this was correct, but that's what the setup software said, and there was no way to override or change it.
2. Horrendous management app and software. I've used a lot of modems in my day. The Netgear app and UI is far behind other top routers, IMO.
3. Setup process is automated and had to be restarted several times before it actually worked. Even registration didn't work. I would have preferred a manual setup option.
The lack of flexibility in terms of secondary networks is a killer for me. I really did not think there were wireless routers being sold in 2016 that could not accommodate a guest network. Yet, the Netgear is a new product in a new niche - the home mesh network. The idea seems to have a lot of merit, but this attempt isn't worth the price, IMO.
I was provided this router for review. My normal router is a Linksys EA9500. I must admit the signal strength for the Netgear exceeded the Linksys, and both were equal in terms of speed. That's saying something, because the Linksys is the best router I've ever used. That's part of why I think the home mesh network idea has merit.
But the Netgear was not good enough to make me want to switch. Improve the UI, and add guest network capacity, and maybe I'd reconsider.
Might Adjust Later
September 20, 2016
I just learned the Orbi is due to be updated to allow a guest network later this year. Assuming that happens, I'd move this up to at least a 4-star review. I'd still like to see improvement in the UI, but it is functional as-is, and the range and speed on the Orbi mesh system is excellent.

Prevent dead zones around your home with the help of this Linksys Wi-Fi range extender. It works with all types of Wi-Fi routers, and it uses multi-user MIMO for speed and efficiency. This Linksys Wi-Fi range extender can be used to create a different access point or to extend the field of the router’s connection.

Bonus Wi-Fi Range
By mikeheel
The specs for this new wi-fi range extender are impressive. I appreciate the beamforming technology. It also supports all current (and prior) wi-fi standards: 802.11ac, 802.11n, 802.11a/g, and 802.11b.
Unboxing:
The extender is a fairly basic white box that mounts directly via plug into a power outlet. It looks fairly generic, like a carbon monoxide detector or such.
Setup:
I have a fairly new Linksys (AC1900) router. The extender is also an AC1900 device. I pressed the WPS button on the router to initiate pairing and then, per instructions, the WPS button on the extender. Failure. I went through the process several times but never could establish connection with my router from a distance of 5 feet. I then abandoned the WPS setup instructions and switched to web setup, which went smoothly for both 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz bands.
Once it was up and running, it gave me a good analysis of the proper location via spot finder. That was helpful.
The instructions recommend giving the extended network a different name than your primary network, such as adding "ext" to the end of your network name. I actually forced it to use the same name as my primary network, since all my devices are new enough to switch seamlessly. If you have older devices, I would suggest you follow the naming directions provided with the extender.
Function:
So far, so good. As I mentioned earlier, the specs are very strong for this extender, and it lives up to my expectations. My devices connect and stay connected seamlessly. The extender offers a range of an additional 10000 square feet (roughly 100 x 100 feet, if that helps give a better idea). I'm a big fan of MI-MIMU, which seems to work well here, too. I use a ton of wireless devices - multiple streaming devices across the house, several gaming consoles, a selection of laptops, tablets, and mobile devices, and a few other connected household devices (thermostats and such). Everything works well.
I now have a very strong signal throughout both floors of the house (router is on top floor, extender on first floor) as well as my yard. In fact, I have decent signal just past the end of my cul-de-sac.
I should note it also includes a 1 GB ethernet port, which could be handy for certain devices.
Wrap Up:
I am pleased with the function and appearance of the device. My only gripe was that the WPS setup failed multiple times. For that reason, I can't give it 5 stars.
Update
September 20, 2016
For some reason, I cannot edit my review above. However, I realized subsequent to posting that I am an idiot. The WPS would not work because I was trying to connect with a hidden network. Doh! So, this should truly be a 5-star review.
Further, i have conducted several recent speed and signal strength tests both with and without the Repeater on the network, and the results are clear that the Repeater makes a significant difference in speed and signal strength in the parts of the house furthest from my primary router.
So, please read this as a 5-star review. My apologies.

Sleep better. Cover unwanted noise with soothing sounds. Bose noise-masking sleepbuds™ are uniquely designed for sleep. They don’t stream music or have acoustic noise cancellation. Instead, these tiny, wireless earbuds use pre-loaded, soothing sounds to cover up unwanted noises, so you can get to sleep — and stay asleep. Plus, unlike traditional earplugs, they’re super comfortable and made to stay in place all night long, even if you sleep on your side. 1. Choose your sound, 2. Set an alarm, 3. Fall asleep without unwanted noise.

I can’t use the Bose -noise-masking-sleepbuds-white to Make phone call.

The Sleepbuds are not for music or phone calls. Their only purpose is to help mask outside noise in hopes of providing a better sleep environment.

Q I am looking for1 Orbi router and 3 Orbi satellites for my big home, since Netgear is not giving the option to buy satellites individually ,will I be able to order two boxes of Orbi and be able to use one of Orbi router as a satellite ,? interchange

I saw no way to use the primary as a satellite when setting up the Orbi system. Netgear will be selling Satellites separately, though. I'd suggest waiting on that. Also, "big home" means different things to different people. I don't know if you're talking about 15,000sf or 4000sf. If closer to 4k, then the single base and satellite may be sufficient.

Will this product cover a 2000 sq. ft., one level house with only one (1) WiFi Name? The reason for this question is I'm currently using an extension to my router which has given the front of the house a different wifi name from the back of the house.

Yes, The Orbi has a primary base and a satellite, but it is one mesh network with one network name. It is not the same as a range extender (although, I should also note you can usually give a range extender the same name as your primary wifi network). However, the Orbi may be overkill for a 2000sf home.
