I’ve got plenty of smart devices but a lock is the one I wanted to wait awhile before trying, and with the Level lock+ I should have waited a little longer. Starting off with the good, the lock looks nice and easily matched the hardware I already had nicely. If you’ve installed one deadbolt, you’ve installed a hundred and this one is no different even though it’s a smart lock. Once you’ve installed the deadbolt pairing it with the app is quick and easy.
The app itself is good and connects with the lock quickly 99% of the time, turning on the boost feature gives you extended range. This allowed me to operate the lock on the third floor of my house sometimes depending on where I am on the third floor. The problem I have and the big selling point of this device is HomeKit integration. I tried numerous times and multiple devices and could not get the lock setup on HomeKit, I’m running iOS 16.5.1(c) on a 14 Pro Max. I don’t completely blame Level for this as I’ve not been the biggest fan of HomeKit, even though I have all Apple products and thought it would be great when they first announced it. Every product I’ve tried with HomeKit I’ve removed as I preferred the functionality better without it. I couldn’t find the Bluetooth version Level actually uses with this but it can’t be the latest, because if it was it would have much better range without needing to use the boost function. Without having WiFi this is not a device that can be locked or unlocked away from home. Apple says that functionality can be used in HomeKit but you have to have an Apple TV or HomePod. The nfc tags are nice to have and can be deactivated easily if lost.
Smart devices are great when they function like advertised and and an absolute headache when they don’t. The Level lock+ doesn’t fall into the complete headache category but its smart functionality with HomeKit could be better.

The Bissell Crosswave Hydrosteam makes daily life with two big fluffy Siberian cats a little easier. Having cats that are furry comes with some unexpected accidents sometimes after they use the bathroom as stuff will get stuck to their fur and land where it’s not supposed to! Being able to quickly sanitize and steam clean both carpets and hardwood floors if this happens is a big plus. The Crosswave has three separate cleaning modes, hard floor, steam wash and area rug. With a push of a button on the handle you can switch between the three different modes. When you pull the button to dispense the formula the front light will get brighter letting you see the area better and know you’re dispensing formula.
The machine comes with three trial size bottles of formula. One hard floor, one multi surface and one clean out formula for the machine. The multi surface is the best smelling carpet/multi surface cleaner I’ve ever smelled. We have one area rug that is a light beige/white and needs spot cleaning a lot, everything I’ve ever used will make this carpet have an unpleasant smell for a little while after you clean it. The multi surface cleaner is the first cleaner that hasn’t done that.
When you’re done with the machine, the compartment that collects the dirty water has a nice pull out tray/filter that will collect any debris that’s in the dirty water. It also comes with a storage tray that when you’re done, you pour some of the clean out formula in, sit the machine in, press a button and it runs a clean out cycle that gets any debris out of the machine. If you’re looking for a machine that can make life’s little messes a little easier to clean, the Bissell Crosswave has you covered.

My girlfriend likes to run marathons, not outside, but the ones inside on the phone! I have tried to get her to use numerous Bluetooth headsets to make her life easier so she could multitask and not hold the phone. She has tried numerous ones and could never find one she liked, the BlueParrot is the first headset that did not bother her. She never could get use to the in ear type of earbuds because she doesn’t like things in here ear. The M300 sits just in the ear and doesn’t have to be wedged in like earbuds.
She is a realtor so she is constantly on the phone with clients and such, so clarity is important. When she used the BlueParrot M300 to talk to clients she had no complaints from them about call quality or how she sounded. She was able to hear them clearly also and the noise canceling helps her do things without causing too much noise on their end. Having Bluetooth 5.1 gives you a more stable connection and allows you to be further away from your phone and keep a connection. The headset changes with a USB-C and comes with a charge cable but no brick. It comes with a S,M and Large ear tip and can be worn on either your left or right ear. The app allows you to customize the BlueParrot button on the side of the headset.
If you’re looking for a good headset and don’t like earbuds, the BlueParrot M300 is an excellent budget friendly option. The only knock I would have is I would have liked to see a small carrying case included for travel. Beside that, I’m glad I finally have found something that makes her life easier so she can get more done.

The XV800 delivers big sound no matter where you are and now that they’ve put wheels on the back it’s even easier to take it with you. If moving it up and down flights of stairs it may be a two person move depending on how strong you are, as it’s definitely not light in a good way though. The speaker comes with a digital optical cable which allows you to use this as a sound bar also for your tv. This is the first Bluetooth speaker I’ve used that does that and the difference this thing makes is huge when using it like that. There’s some sound bars that don’t have a sub woofer included that’s almost as expensive or even more expensive as this speaker alone. Having this feature just adds so much versatility to this speaker. My only issue with using it hooked up to your tv is the fact you have to control the sound with the Sony music app. As good as the app is, I would have liked to have seen Sony include a small remote for this feature.
And speaking of apps, the Sony music center app is how you control the speaker when using it. The one knock I have of the app is the fact you can turn the speaker off with it, but you can’t turn it on. I have the XP500 and it’s the same way with that one also. When you want to get your rock star on, the fiestable app controls the functionality and customization doing karaoke. The XV800 delivers big sound but the party chain function gives you the ability to connect other Sony speakers if it’s not enough. The speaker uses Bluetooth 5.3 so you don’t have to worry about audio and video being out of sync when watching videos and using a Bluetooth connection.
The XV800 can be your party speaker, karaoke machine, sound bar and even charge your device while doing it. And when you want to use it untethered and take it with you, you get up to 25 hours of battery life. I’ve been using battery powered mowers for 6 to 7 years now, so I’m not new to the battery powered outdoor equipment. This mower is replacing a Ryobi battery powered mower and though it has been a good mower, this Greenworks mower is much better. For starters, the fact the Greenworks has a metal deck like a traditional mower makes it feel like a much better product. With the metal deck, I also get a much broader range of deck height. With my old mower I had to cut the grass on the second highest setting and with the Greenworks I use the second lowest with 5 additional settings left. This just gives me more flexibility if I don’t have time to cut the grass right away and it gets a little longer.
I’ve got a fairly decent size yard, don’t know exact size but it’s between 1/4 to 1/3 of an acre (pics included). I’m able to cut the whole yard while using the self propelled feature about 30% of the time, maybe a little more. This is the same I got from my previous mower without self propelled. While using it, the Greenworks might have to ramp up power maybe 10% of the time while cutting the grass compared to about 50 to 60% for my old mower. The self propelled feature gives plenty of power and I’ve found right in the middle to be the perfect speed. It would have definitely been nice to have more than one battery, but it is nice it fully charges in an hour.
Some people like the “environmental” aspect of using battery powered outdoor equipment, I personally like the fact I don’t have to worry about if I got gas for my equipment or not. Battery powered equipment keeps getting better and better and really your biggest expense will be an extra battery after purchase. This Greenworks mower gives you the performance of a gas powered mower with few if any compromises.

Great as a watch with limited smart functionality

If you’re looking for a watch with some smart functionality the Citizen CZ smartwatch may be for you. The watch is very attractive to me, though the band is not my favorite and unfortunately according to Citizens website it’s not swappable. I’m sure you have to be able to replace it but maybe not as easy as other smartwatch bands, I mean if it goes on it has to come off! Connecting the watch to my 14 pro max was easy and honestly has more functionality than I thought it would mainly due to Apples ecosystem. The citizen app where you can customize the watch is is good and allows for limited customization as the watch doesn’t have a color display so, it will allow you to use your own pics as a background but they’ll be in black and white.
In terms of smart functionality, it’s a mixed bag for me coming from an Apple Watch. You’ll get notifications but the display doesn’t light up when you get a notification. The display has a backlight that will light up when you double tap the display, it’s sufficient but not very bright. There’s not a lot of watch faces to choose from, like I said it will allow you to use a pic, but it’ll be in black and white. In terms of battery life the thing is amazing, dropping only 13 percent since a full charge after three days of use. When synced to your phone and a call comes in, you’ll get a notification on the watch to answer or reject, but you can’t take the call on your watch. When you press the answer button it sends it to your phone. The watch does a good job though with activity tracking and you can set one of the side buttons to quick launch a workout or other functions.
The Citizen CZ hybrid smartwatch is for the person that is looking for that classic watch look with some smart functions . If you don’t want or need all the stuff of a full blown smartwatch, it’s an attractive watch with great battery.

The Logitech G Pro X 2 is a great headset that delivers everything you need with a classic headset look. The Pro X 2 has more the look of traditional headphones than that of most gaming headsets. Unlike some gaming headsets that have RGB lights or bright colors, the simple black and silver of the X2 gives off the classic audiophile headphone vibe. Looks aside, the most important part of any headset is the sound it delivers when gaming and the Pro X 2’s deliver big time! The sound especially on pc is highly customizable and the 7.1 surround sound just adds that extra depth to games and movies. Even though you only get stereo sound on other platforms such as PS5, the sound they deliver is still really good. The Logitech G HUB software on PC allows for a lot of customization when using these on PC.
The headset comes with a Bluetooth dongle, USB-A to USB-C charging cable, 3.5 headphone jack cable, detachable mic, extra ear cups and a nice carrying bag. The detachable mic delivers great flexibility and clear voice communication and even voice customization on the G HUB software on PC. The headset for me is very comfortable, especially when I use the soft fabric ear cups. I have a large head, if you have an extra large to a really large head they might not be as comfortable. The PRO X 2’s deliver great sound and customization without all the flash.

Adding extra memory can be a quick and easy way to increase the performance of your computer. Some computers can be a little more involved but for the most part, memory is the easiest performance upgrade even for the novice. Crucial by Micron has long been one of those names you know you can count on when it comes to memory and that’s still so. My girlfriends 13 year old son is a huge pc gamer so any advantage he can get when it comes to gaming he will take it! He has a gaming tower that has 4 easily accessible memory slots and is upgradeable to 64gb.
The machine came with 16gb from the factory so going from 16 to 48gb, this gave him a noticeable increase in frame rate and overall performance. When he started gaming two years ago on this machine the 16gb worked fine, but as he got into more graphically intense games he definitely noticed a difference. Stepping up to 48gb, he’s noticed an increase in load times and graphics as the frame rates are higher and much more steady especially when he puts the settings to max. If you’re computer needs a performance boost, the quickest and easiest way is a memory upgrade and Crucial is a name you can trust.

Smart this and smart that, it seems everything is smart today including your scale! The Withings smart scale is definitely a product I’m glad I’ve finally experienced. Just jumping on a scale and seeing your weight is one thing, but being able to see how you’ve progressed is another. If your weight has fluctuated during a few days the scale will show you that in graph form after you initially weigh yourself. And this is just one of many measurements it will show you once you’ve set it up.
And speaking of setup, it’s thankfully very simple and quick and that’s in large part due to the excellent Withings app. Once you download the app and turn the scale on the app walks you thru the whole process. The app works flawlessly with Apple health, so if you allow it, it will import your health data from the health app into the Withings app. This allows you to monitor all your health data and the measurements from the scale within the Withings app. The scale will measure bmi,fat,lean mass & water,visceral fat, your heart rate and will even give you the weather and air quality index! You can store up to 8 users profiles on the scale and it even has an “eyes closed mode”, instead of numbers it gives you inspirational messages! The Withings body smart is an example of when “smart” is done right (product and app functionality work flawlessly together), it really can make day to day life better.

This lens gives me the flexibility to carry less and not have to compromise. I got into photography a few years back and though most of it is for pleasure, occasionally I do some real estate photography for my girlfriend. With 20 mm I get the wide angle to capture more detail for inside photos. This lens is a perfect match for my A7c as it’s just the right size for travel. It gives me just enough zoom when I need it, and if I feel like I want more I’ll pair it with my a6400. Using it with my a6400 allows me to reach out to 105mm, which gets me close enough to the 135mm of the kit lens of the a6400, but with a lens that will produce sharper results. Doing this allows me to carry just one lens with the two camera bodies.
The lens feels very robust and well made, exactly what I expect from Sony and why they’re my main camera brand. I love the AF/MF button on the body along with the iris lock out ring that allows you to quickly set the aperture or lock it out. Like other Sony lenses I’ve used you hear no noise when the lens is focusing. I’ve got lenses from other brands and though they’re great lenses, you can hear the motors on some when focusing. The 20mm-70mm is now my go to lens when I want to travel light, but still be able to get the shot from a distance.

Googles first attempt at their own phone (software/ hardware developed by Google) is a solid homerun, even though it has a few shortcomings!
The hardware; at least to me is absolutely beautiful and on par with any of the top cellphone manufacturers out there. The software; is so smooth and buttery, there literally is no lag! It reminds me of iOS in the early days. The screen at 5 inches is a sweet spot, though I love bigger screens, it's a nice comprise especially if you want a big screen but dont have big hands.
If you are a died in the wool Android person, this phone is an excellent choice when considering a new phone. The price could be a shortcoming for some, and the lack of headphones baffles me especially when you're competing with the big manufacturers. 32 gb may not seem like a lot of storage these days, but Google gives you unlimited photo and video cloud storage for all taken on the Pixel.
Google should be very proud of this phone and anyone should put it on their short list when searching for a phone.

I understand and know there has been Nexus devices for years that run stock android. But all reports from plenty of sources ( The Verge, Andriod Central, Droid Life and so on) have indicated that the Pixel is the FIRST phone where Google designed the hardware and software to work together like Apple does with the iPhone. Even though HTC made the hardware.

I got my first Bluetooth headphones 2 years ago with the Beats solo2 headset. As much as I liked them having the wire between the two could still be a pain at times depending on what you're doing. The new AirPods are phenomenal from the sound quality, ease of use and just the general quality. These are my new go to headphones, I love the fact I can just use one at a time if I want and the fact the case is a battery also so it charges them when you place them in the case. Worth every cent!

Until Apple fixes the issue with these disconnecting from calls while using a 6s and 6s plus avoid these. I'm on my second pair and they both would randomly disconnect while talking.

How does this system work without the monthly monitoring. Can I get alerts on my phone without the monitoring?
Without the monitoring the system with simply make the alarm sound from the base station or siren if you add that. To control it with the phone it requires the 24.95 a month plan.

Can this system be set so if your home and someone comes in it will go off and warn you
Yes, when setting it to home only the door and window sensors will be aramed. Unless you change that in the settings to where the motion sensors are armed when choosing home mode.

What are the differences between Xbox 360 and Playstation 3?
I am trying to decide if I should buy a Xbox 360 or a Playstation 3? I wanted to know the differences between them
I have both and barely play the ps3. The differences between the two are, The ps3 has built in wifi, has the ability to browse the web, bluray, and online is free. 360- you have to pay for xbox live gold membership(silver membership is free) it is worth it though. The 360 has a much better controller, after a while the ps3 controller buttons start to stick. The 360 has better exclusives ( though there are some potentially good ones coming to the ps3).Xbox live marketplace is second to none, netflix tons of arcade games and just all around more fun.
