A snappy upgrade for a great price.

Coming from a Pixel 6 Pro (Px6P) the 7a is a welcomed upgrade at a comfortable price point. The past several phones I have used, have been Pro sized, because big hands, and is usually a factor in my next upgrade. I have used 'normal' sized phones for work (no choice in size of phone), and this was bigger than my old work cell..
The 7a has the new G2 Tensor processor and the speed is noticeably faster compared to my Px6P, and the display is bright, colorful and crisp. I love how it adapts quickly to ambient light, inside to outside.
I was pleasantly surprised by the camera, however I wouldn't expect less from Google. Their software hasn't ceased to amaze me. My favorite feature is the magic eraser that wipes out selected nuisances. I also love the portrait mode, as my dog is very photogenic.
That being said, battery life is hard to gauge for me, as the Pro / Max models have a bigger batteries. The 7a will last me eight hours on a single charge. Or I find my self plugging in more frequently, and there's Qi charging so if you have Qi pads about, this will work with them.
Security is tight, I use a finger print/pass-code combo because I have work related items on my device and I do take security in mind. I rest easy knowing my work access is secure. The finger print scanner is hit or miss, but it only allows two or three attempts before it requires a numeric code. It has a neat security center that gives you info on
Call quality is okay, depending on network, but one feature I have grown to love is the spam screen call feature. It answers the call for you and tells the caller that you are screening this call. So far everyone hangs up and my voicemail isn't clogged with robo-calls.
And it's PURE Android. No bloat-ware that duplicates what the base apps already do. Setup from my Px6P was easy, I just connected the USB-C cable to both phones, hit a few buttons and and watched as the two talked to each other and transferred my data over without a second though.

A very significant upgrade in haircare
on April 12, 2023

I am very impressed with technology these days, but the fact that we now have cordless clippers makes me so happy. One of my biggest issues, was getting tied up in the power cord while trying to trim and shave my hair and beard and it would get so frustrating.
The handle is actual metal, with a textured grip so if your hands get wet, you won't have to worry about these slipping out, the grip feels a lot better than my old pair, and despite it being battery operated, it's not super heavy to where if you work with these professionally, they won't tire out your hands.
The motor is surprisingly quieter than my old pair as well, as evidenced by my dog who can't stand the sound. So if for some reason your doing your hair at 2 am while your partner is sleeping, don't worry about these being super loud.
That being said, the rest of the clippers are standard: cleaning brush, starter oil tube, trim scissors, and your standard range of clipper guards. Everything snaps into place easily, and comes off without a hitch, cleaning the unit is easy with the brush.
The clippers come with a charge block and USB cord as well, and only took an hour or two for a full charge. The charge will last you a few sessions, I've only had to trim up once since getting these and the battery hasn't faltered.
For the price, this cordless set of clippers are well worth it!

Small footprint, Big power.
on January 4, 2023

I needed a computer for quick day use or guest usage, and this sits on my formerly useless breakfast bar in my apartment. First thing noticed, was how light the entire thing is. Compared to a fruit labeled computer, this was much lighter, and I liked that. The plug is nice too, it reminds me of my laptop's brick like charger. Same concept here. The 24 inch touch screen is a nice mat-finish, Bonus for the touch screen, and lack of finger prints get left. The mouse and keyboard are wireless, and the only minor annoyance is that there is no on/off switch to conserve battery.
Speed wise, it's snappy. I don't like MS Edge and prefer Chrome. No issues in lag with the ram and process speed. Storage is storage. In this day and age, a 1tb drive should be standard, but here we are on a 512 gb SSD. The only major downside to AIO's is the lack of self-repair ability with the physical unit. I work on my rigs, and this one is sealed tight. Sooo consider a warranty! Sound quality is pretty good for the built in speakers: another bonus, as the sound is pretty good. All the ports are in the back, 4 USB 3.0, and HDMI input and output. As this acts as a TV.

The premium vacuum and mop solution like no other. It’s the only 2-in-1 with D.R.I. (Dry Rug Intelligence) means the Roomba Combo™ j7+ uses carpet detection and the Auto Retract Mopping System that lifts itself to the top of the robot, completely away from carpet preventing wet messes entirely. On hard floors, it vacuums and mops at the same time. The 4-Stage Cleaning system combines our Edge-Sweeping Brush, Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes, Power-Lifting Suction and first-of-its-kind mopping with added pressure for a thorough clean. It's all designed to keep your carpet and hard floors cleaner while avoiding obstacles at the same time—so you can live your life.

The perfect assistant for really busy people

I've had two previous robo-vacs from different manufactures, and by far this one has been the most thoughtfully designed botvac. From it's ability to switch dry vac to mop vac modes with out having to do anything, to it's ability to empty it's own waste canister. The Roomba J7 has me thoroughly impressed.
In the box, you get the docking station with rubbish canister, two canister bags, the robot unit, two mop pads, and samples of the cleaning solution they recommend, and extra pieces/parts as needed.
Setup is fairly easy. Place the docking station in an open area near an outlet and make sure the cannister bag is in place, turn on the bot and it will find the docking station or you can place it on the dock. It will charge and while it does, you can set up the app. BE CAREFUL not to grab the mop bar on top of the unit, it is NOT a handle. At first I was confused as to how it worked, but it will only lift up partially so you can replace the mop pad.
And that's the coolest feature. The mop pad will deploy when needed automatically by the bot, the bar moves from above the bot to the floor during the cleaning process. It's one of those things that.

The bot's onboard waste bin doubles as its water tank. This is where I am not sure if I love it or hate it. The fill limit is 210 mls which isn't a lot, and the intake hole is a bit awkward. I recommend measuring out everything in a separate container, 50 mls of cleaning solution and 160 mls of water seems to be a decent ratio.
The bot itself is pretty quiet, while running, the only loudness from the unit is when the bot docks and transfers waste from bot to the docking station, so make sure you're not on the phone when that happens.
The mapping system is a bit weird but at least you can see on the app, what the bot 'thinks' your layout is, and it's kind of trippy, but at least you can see it, my other two robos didn't have that feature. The app itself is fairly easy to use, it shows the bot's current charge level, waste bin and water levels, and will alert you if the water tank is low. You can set schedules and configure it for dry run, wet run, both, and spot cleaning.

A great multifunctional purifier!
on October 16, 2022
Posted by: RAK9008
I live in a dry, dusty environment, and my old purifier's air filters cost over a hundred and fifty dollars to replace. . . every six months, and so it now sits abandoned in my walk in closet. And then I came across this Shark air purifier. I had believed it was a two in one, only to find out it has the added bonus of a space heater.
The unit covers 500 sq feet, comes with a remote, and clean air filter. That's it. Let's talk about the remote though, because it is a love/hate relationship and I have a warning for future buyers.
So the remote is this neat disc that sits on top of the unit in a cradle-like depression that you won't be able to knock off easily, and you can set it down in such a manner that the magnet 'snaps' it into place. The cradle has an IR receiver so that you can use it without having to pick up the remote. I took a star away because my remote's battery slot is not secure, and it won't click back into place. I believe something happened because (Here's that warning!) when taking the battery tab off the remote, be mindful. I was a little eager and pulled the tab, and didn't realize it took the battery out with it, and when I tried to use the remote, and it wasn't responding, I didn't know I had yanked the battery completely out. Beside that point, the remote is actually well thought out.
Now the unit itself: I like how it has a large display to see from across my living room, with a LED ring around it that indicates air quality in three colors: Blue, Yellow, Red. It has a touch sensitive power button separate from the remote (You can use either) and then an odd little knob on the right side that sets it into that “Air Purifing” mode, meaning the air direction will blow out of the back, and not in your face.
If you turn it, it redirects the airflow through the front and enables the Fan and Space heater modes.
The space heater that I didn't even know it came with until I got it, which I find to be really handy, except I live in Arizona, where it rarely gets cold. You can use the remote to change temps, turn on the oscillator, set timers, or just set it to Auto and leave it. The heater does have your standard safety features: Tip it over and it shuts down.
The filters are easy to install, just pop the back cover off and stuff it in there, carefully. The great thing is: The filters don't cost a hundred and fifty a pop! For the fantastic price of 75 USD, you can easily obtain a new one.
If you live in a variable climate, with a lot of allergens, or a pet and want a device to do more than just scrub the air, I certainly recommend this unit.

Great for quick cleaning!

I have a two year old German Shepherd dog, and she SHEDS, well Tineco pet cordless stick delivers. The best feature about this vac, is the multiple cleaning attachments it comes with. The pet eraser definitely picks up on the suede couch, and the battery life lasts long enough to clean the vinly floored areas of my 750sqft apartment on max setting.
One of the drawbacks I didn't like was that it -has- to be wall mounted, and so it's mounted in my utility room, but an extension cord was needed for power. Other than that, I really love how I can just snag this off the wall to do quick spot cleaning before guests come over.
It has an interesting trigger system to activate it, and a trigger lock to keep the vac from powering down for longer usage, and the main powered brush head has an LED that definitely highlights the pet hair. Empying and cleaning the dust canister is easy, flip switch and dump it into the garbage bin.
It does have room for a second battery, but the unit only comes with one, so if you need to clean a bigger space, you will want to purchase a separate battery.

A solid, portable rig.
on August 13, 2022
Posted by: RAK9008
So far this laptop has been great to work with. I am envious of its multicolor keyboard which my prior laptop did not have. However, what’s even greater is the numeric pad, which I am not used to, in any of my laptops. The keys are responsive enough, and I am sure with some ergo pads, my wrists won't hurt. The display is … eh. The refresh is right, but the resolution is standard HD, but what it lacks in onboard display, it makes up with mini display port 2.0 and USB-C.Oh and a webcam? Again my other laptop doesn’t even have USB C. . And three storage slots total, so feel free to grab a bigger SSD (it uses M2 and SATA formfactors)
UserBenchmarks: Game 65%, Desk 96%, Work 62%
CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H - 92.7%
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3050-Ti (Laptop) - 67.4%
SSD: Gigabyte AG4512G-SI B10 512GB - 334.1%
RAM: Crucial CT8G4SFS832A.M8FR 1x8GB - 51.8%
MBD: Gigabyte GA-G5 MD
So I ran a benchmark test, this runs it against competitors and even similar spec units, you can easily run demanding games, I always recommend getting a cooling pad, laptops don’t move air like gaming towers. If you’re looking to avoid busting the bank, and get a solid mobile gaming and content creating platform
If you are looking for a solid gaming or multimedia rig with some nice portability, and a price tag that won’t strangle your bank account, make sure you consider this laptop.

The Steelcase Series 1 chair has a LiveBack flexor system in the backrest which conforms to your body and moves with you to support the spine as you change postures. The tilt mechanism is synchronized; the seat and back work in harmony with each other, keeping the body securely supported in the chair and feet firmly planted on the floor so you can recline without leaving your optimal zone for seeing and reaching your work. Feature set includes an adjustable seat depth, fully adjustable arms, adjustable lumbar, pneumatic seat height adjustment, recline tension adjustment (weight activated with adjustment and lock), flexing back with mesh upholstery, upholstered seat and wheels for hard flooring. The seat features strong yet pliable foam which conforms to the body and creates pressure-free comfort. Flexible seat edge offers a bit of bend, right where you need it – relieving pressure points under your thighs. This chair will arrive unassembled and require some assembly and is covered by a 12-year warranty.

Fastest chair set up ever.
on June 11, 2022
Posted by: RAK9008
I needed to replace my old gaming chair that was all pleather and unbreathable with something that especially let my back breathe, since I work from home full time now, I am parked in this chair eight + hours a day. This chair also helps with posture, as it doesn't have that weird seat tilt feature, and forces me to sit up-right more and not slouch. There's adjustable lumbar which is nice, and the seat pad slides forward or back to accomodate sitting styles?
THE COOLEST thing about this aside from the arm rests that slide out from the frame, is that I got this assembled in less than ten minutes. It all snap, crackle, pops into place. I assembled it on my lunch break and was working in it for the rest of the day. It's operation is simple, there's a stick, that has a knob bilt in and that unlocks the seat back for reclining, which i find my self doing more these days. I like to figit. There is a small slide lever that unlocks the seat pad to slide away from or closer to the seat back, and that was a nice adjustment ability.
I took a star away however, the armrest 'pads' are the plastic-y rubbery feel and they SLIDE. So don't use the armrests to try and push off, it slides and then your hands are positioned weirdly. I'd like to see at least a gel insert where my arms sit on those arm pads.
Any chair is really going to have a nag point.. my old chair, the one before that, I all have nags about them but this one was just easy to assemble and while it may not look super sturdy, it is.

Great for beginners to PC gaming.
on May 1, 2022
Posted by: RAK9008
from Phoenix, AZ
The Asus G10CE- I51660 Is a solid rig for those who are wanting to get into PC gaming without having to go through the hassle of building their own rig or spending their life savings to get into gaming.
I have built two rigs personally, and generally prefer to have custom specs, but after my last rig took a fall and damaged the CPU socket, well let’s just say this has replaced it and I am fairly happy with it. For people who aren’t computer savvy here is a brief dictionary:
CPU: Central Processing Unit, GPU: Graphics Processing Unit, RAM: Memory, SSD: Solid State Drive - no moving parts, faster than HDD, but more expensive. HDD: Hard Disk Drive - has disks, a little slower, but more cost effective.
The good: It’s a budget system, it will run whatever you throw at it for the most part, it comes with a keyboard and mouse, to get up and running faster.
The bad: NVIDIA 1660 Ti instead of a 20 or 30 card and no optical audio port
The ugly: No USB-C ports? In this day and age?!
The chassis (Computer case) Asus has a pleasant design with some RGB lighting, which can make your gaming space more personalized. The case itself was smaller than I expected, and it’s nice to have it sitting up on my file cabinet instead of the floor. It comes with the metal cover panel installed, and an optional clear-plastic cover so you can see the lights and inside of the tower. It does pretty good with airflow, which is critical in keeping your system running fast.
The Specs:
>The CPU is an 11th Gen Intel i5-11400F which runs at 2.60GHz, which is a great mid-range processor with six cores, and 12 threads, so the processing power is there and I generally prefer Intel chips over AMD. The F indicates there is no integrated GPU capability, but really, if you are gaming, you have an independent GPU anyways.
The GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti which rivals a 1770, and this is where I am disappointed. NVIDIA is on the 4th Gen of cards (the RTX 40 series) and yet the 10 series is STILL going despite all the advances of the 20/30/40 series. This is kind of a marker for a budget gaming rig, but I think they should have gone 20 or at least a 30 series card since 40 is right around the corner. No ray tracing and the games I play still look good on the MSI monitor I have.
>Memory: 16 Gbs of RAM is a good amount of RAM and with gaming it will keep things moving quickly.
>Storage size: 512GB on a SSD (Solid State Drive). This size is fine for running the OS and MAYBE one or two games. I had a HDD (Hard Disk Drive) that was 1 TB and added that in because I have more games than what this can hold.

Great for travel or guest rooms!
on February 27, 2022
Posted by: RAK9008
from Phoenix AZ
This device is one of the best travel items to have. I travel frequently for work and hotels usually lock their TVs down so streaming isn’t always available, but this allows you to cast your computer’s screen to the TV it is hooked up to. It supports almost all modes of casting: Airplay for Apple users, ChromeCast for Android users, and Miracast for PC users.
Set up is easy, you plug the HDMI port into the TV. If your TV has a USB port, you can use that, but if not, it just needs USB for power, so plug it into one of the thousands of USB blocks we most likely have laying around. Mine is plugged into the TV at this rate and it works just fine.
The Setup was a little confusing at first. Would have helped if I could have referred to the directions but I lost them so, if that happens; THINGS TO KNOW:
**The password for connecting to the device’s wifi is on the screen. Power it on and it will tell you the SSID and password. I would have appreciated that being more noticeable but, figured it out!
**Easiest to set up using a laptop, I used my surface pro to get in and configure
The only time you really need to be going in there is to run a firmware update and connect the actual transceiver to the wifi network. After that, there’s other settings and what not in there but the defaults are fine.
Check the J5’s website for when firmware updates drop. I don’t know if it auto updates.
Once that setup process is complete. I have tested both Miracast from my surface and Google Cast via my Pixel 6 Pro. And there is some latency and lag, but it’s only going to be a problem if you try to play video games with it. The hz that this transmits is unknown, as I looked at the website and it was not listed.
Overall if you want to use this to duplicate your computer or phone screen while traveling or have a guest room with a TV in it, the guests will surely appreciate it!

Love this Laptop

Love everything about this laptop but was curious if anyone else had issues with the warning I attached a picture of? It Reads: Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8 (R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered...Keep getting this and have updated drivers and have been in touch with Dell...Thought it was fixed but I keep getting it...I have also spoken to The Geek Squad...Considering exchanging it while I still can but concerned I will have the same issues...My question is why am I getting message for Windows 8 when I thought this unit was preloaded with Windows 10???

I got that with my old laptop and it was running AMD chipsets. I had to wipe all the graphic drivers and re-install, but it only reduced the amount of times it happened. Something Windows has to fix I am guessing.

How can I connect a wireless mouse and external storage to the surface pro 8, without any USB ports? Is there something you recommend using?

I use logitech mice and some can connect via bluetooth, I've had an old microsoft arc mouse that was bluetooth and it worked just fine.

Is this a duplex printer? I like printing on both sides of paper? And is it quiet? I have a pixma 860 still works great but not compatible with windows 10. Do you have a set up disk for my pixma 860

Is this printer compatible with a mac, the scanning function too? Also, anyone have any experience with the brother inkvestment and like it less, or better than this canon printer? Thank you

This printer is compatible with Mac OS and Windows OS, the setup is only slightly different, but just as easy.

Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control, this Sonos Beam compact smart soundbar lets you control the volume and power with the just sound of your voice.

can I disconnect the alexa on the beam and still use it, I don't want anything to do with a listening device in my personal space

Yes, you can, in the Sonos App, you are asked to set it up, you can skip this step. If you have already set up Alexa Voice Services, go to the Sonos App>More>Settings>Room Settings>Select the room you want to disable> Tap "Amazon Alexa" at the top under "Voice Services"> and select "Remove Amazon Alexa from this room."

Can it be hung on the wall?

Are the stands detachable to hook up on wall?
Yes, does not include mounting hardware. I have a TV stand with built in mount and it's pretty light!
