We spend 90% of our time indoors where the air is often 2 to 5 times worse than the air outside. Continuous monitoring of indoor air quality is key for minimizing negative health effects, preventing illness and increasing productivity, energy and good health. Airthings, air quality specialists and experts in radon, created the Airthings Wave Plus as the first smart air quality monitor with radon detection. Wave Plus has since won multiple awards for consumer electronics and innovation and was among the 2019 TIME Magazine inventions of the year. It is the perfect solution for homeowners to gain full visibility into six indoor air factors; radon, carbon dioxide (CO2), airborne chemicals (TVOCs), humidity, temperature and air pressure. Airthings Wave Plus includes a free app to connect to your smartphone (iOS/Android) via Bluetooth and an online dashboard with advanced analytics. Battery operated allowing you to install anywhere, with 16 months battery life. Please allow for a 7-Day settling period for the sensors to adjust to their new environment. By monitoring daily and continuously, you can avoid radon side effects, get the best indoor humidity level, low voc levels and low carbon dioxide levels. Made to the best indoor air quality standards, Airthings Wave Plus is essential in every home.

A handy and well thought out air quality sensor.
on November 1, 2022
Posted by: AncientGeek
Setup for the AirThings Wave Plus was easy. As instructed, I downloaded the app and created an account on the AirThings web site. Then I pulled the tab that isolated one battery terminal for storage and shipping. The device started up and I waited for it to stabilize. Once it appeared to be ready, I followed the instructions for adding the device to the app on my phone. That was easy.
The device then needs to go through a 7 day calibration period for several of the sensors, so I placed in on my table and left it there. I was a little concerned at the beginning of the calibration period, when the device reported an elevated radon level. We had done a radon test a few years ago and did not have a problem. Every once in a while I’d wave my hand over the device and it would display yellow (at first) then later red….and after two days…it happily (for me) displayed green. Reported radon level kept dropping over the first few days. I’m still early in the calibration phase, but I’m optimistic about having this device as a long term member of my collection of IoT devices that I use to monitor and control my homes.
I’m not sure if I will use the IFTTT integration offered by this device. I do use IFTTT with some of my other devices, so it is possible I’ll think of something I want to link with this.
If it works out, I may use this device in a few difficult locations that I monitor. If the radon monitor is reliable over the long term, that is particularly interspersed to me.
Update: I’m in day 7 of the calibration phase and radon is once again reporting as slightly elevated and air quality is “RED” as a result. I plan to buy a radon test kit and compare the reading on the kit to the AirThings Wave. If they are similar, I’ll be ordering radon remediation! Fortunately, the pipe was installed when the house was built, so it should be easy to add the fan.
I’m assuming the radon reading is correct at this point, so I didn’t take away any stars. If it turns out to not be correct, I would, of course, be less enthusiastic. Time will tell.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A great battery for wireless & wired charging
on September 1, 2022
Posted by: AncientGeek
Conclusion:
I think the 633 MagGo will be my primary power bank for travel due to the optimization of flexibility, size and capacity. If you want a battery extender you can just attach and forget, the Apple MagSafe battery might be a better option, but if you want a multipurpose battery to use with any of your devices, the 633 MagGo seems like a really nice device. One device with many uses.
Details:
I have enjoyed using Anker chargers, battery packs and cables for many years. When I saw the 633 MagGo battery, I thought it would make a nice addition to my collection. I use a MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone 13 Pro and AirPods Pro. Having a battery pack that will provide backup power when I’m not near a power outlet is very handy when traveling. Though I can plug everything in, it is sometimes handy to have a wireless charging option. The 633 MagGo gives me that option, though wireless charging is slower.
The 633 is just about the size of a deck of playing cards . It has a 10,000 maH battery that I consider to be an optimal size for my needs. My iPhone 13 Pro magnetically attaches to the optimal spot on both the iPhone and battery and is acceptably secure there. I can flip out the handy little kickstand in the back and view my phone in either portrait or landscape mode while the iPhone is charging. I did a few tests and found the 633 will charge my iPhone 13 Pro from 78% to 96% in 45 minutes. It charged my 11” iPad Pro from 26% to 69% in 53 minutes via a USB-C cable. It even charged my 2020 13” MacBook Pro from 70% to 90% in 54 minutes also using the USB-C cable. I forgot to check it sooner, but an hour later it was at 100%. In all of these tests, I was only using the devices very sparingly. I believe wireless charging is always limited by the 7.5 watt power limit on the wireless charging spec. Apple’s MagSafe battery has the same rating.
I like the “Swiss Army Knife” flexibility of having USB-C, USB-A and MagSafe capabilities all in one device. I have an older Anker PowerCore 13,000 maH battery that has the two USB-A ports and one USB-C port, but lacks the MagSafe functionality. I think the MagSafe functionality is worth the loss of one USB-A port. I rarely plug in three devices at the same time, so the flexibility is a win for me. Also the 633 is smaller in size overall.
I also own an Apple MagSafe iPhone battery. The 633 MagGo is about twice as thick and perhaps 15 mm taller than the Apple MagSafe battery. The extra battery capacity and ports, of course, result in a larger device. The Apple MagSafe battery would be good if you don’t want to use it for anything other than your iPhone.

I needed a better pillow and had the chance to pick one up through Best Buy TIN. The Bedgear Glacier pillow looked very interesting to me. I looked up the appropriate size for me and found it was the 2.0. However, the 2.0 was not available, so I decided to try the 3.0.
The pillow appears to be of very high quality. It has a very nice feel and is very comfortable. I sometimes sweat at night, but have not sweat using this pillow yet. I am hopeful it will live up to its name and purpose in this regard. Overall I really like this pillow, but I have decided I really do need the smaller size, so I’ll have to order a 2.0 and use this one elsewhere.
I do recommend this product for people looking for a performance pillow.

They just keep getting better!

This is my 4th GoPro action camera, having used the 4 Silver, 7 Black , and 9 Black previously. I like having two GoPro cameras for versatility and I really wanted two GoPro cameras that use the same batteries and charger cables. The 7 and 9 shared charger cables, but didn’t use the same batteries. The 9 & 10 share both. Since I take these with me when traveling, it is really handy to have two cameras sharing a single system for accessories.
Setup was simple. I started by charging the battery fully and inserting a compatible fast microSD card. Then I opened the app which was already loaded on my iPhone. The app allowed me to add the Hero 10 while keeping my other camera profiles, and immediately offered to update the firmware.
Once the firmware was updated I was able to test it. The controls are simple and compatible with prior GoPro Hero models.
Image quality is excellent and there are options for both resolution and angle. What really impresses me is the image quality and stabilization. I took a selfie and did a 360° spin in my yard. My face was extremely stable in the video. It was as if the selfie stick was permanently affixed to my body. Very cool. Cinematic mode is just beautiful. The microphone is really good. Even distant bird sounds came through clearly. My voice was very clear on videos.
All shooting is easy with the Hero 10. Select the mode and press the button. GoPro has a quick start (rabbit) setting which allows me to start a video or take a photo with a single touch. This allows me to react to photo/video opportunities really quickly. There many options for photos and videos. Resolution, field of view, image stabilization, time lapse light sensitivity. The image will auto rotate unless you don’t want it to do that…it is just a setting.
I have a number of GoPro accessories and just ordered a few more. I keep them in a GoPro case (actually two cases now) so I can just grab these and go. I keep the batteries out of the cameras unless I’m using them, since certain modes keep the Bluetooth and/or wifi active when the camera is “off”, so the remote or phone app can tell the camera to turn on.
I also like the tripod accessories that allow me to connect the GoPro to a standard tripod 1/4” 2.0 screw mount. I have a monopod that I can use as a walking stick and a GoPro mount at the same time. When traveling, I usually take the GoPro 3-way selfie stick, mini extension pole and the hat clip in addition to the tripod mount. That way I have choices about how to hold the camera based on the situation.
I love this camera (and those that came before it). I have the best GoPro setup of my life (and one of my relatives will get a hand-me-down 7 Black in mint condition, that they will also love).
I definitely recommend the GoPro Hero10.

A nice general purpose vacuum

Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum
This is a really nice general purpose vacuum. It is relatively quiet, has good suction and is versatile in terms of configurations for various uses.
Assembly was pretty simple. There are just a few parts and they snap together easily without any tools.
In the “normal” upright configuration, the vacuum is easy to navigate on wood/tile floors or carpet. The rotator brush and suction seem to do well. We picked up quite of bit of dirt and lint in the dirt bin during our test even though it had not been that long since we last vacuumed. The brush head pivots when you rotate your wrist from side to side which makes maneuvering around objects a breeze.
The power unit can quickly be lifted off so the wand and brush head can easily slide under beds. You can then also pop off he rotator brush head and attach the crevice tool or small brush to reach high on a wall or in a hard to reach spot behind a piece of furniture or appliance.
The cord is of ample length to cover an average size room without constantly moving to a different outlet.
The dust bin is very easy to empty. Just be sure not to push the button to open the bin until you have it over a trash can. I made that mistake and had the opportunity to test the vacuum again!

Great Video, Super simple setup.

AVerMedia Live Streamer CAM513
I received the CAM513 through the Best Buy Technical Insider Network. I’m doing quite a few web meetings these days and have wanted to try some camera alternatives.
Summary:
It works right out of the box (I only tested it on a MacBook Pro)
The video quality is very good and audio is also good.
It has a physical camera cover for peace of mind regarding privacy
The CAM513 is very easy to setup for use. My first attempt was with a Apple USB-C to USB-C cable that I had on hand, since my MacBook Pro only has USB-C ports. The camera powered up, but I received an error message on the screen telling me to use a USB 3.0 cable. So, I plugged the USB-C to USB-A cable that came with the camera into my MacBook Pro via a USB-A to USB-C adapter. After I connected it using the provided cable and my adapter cable the CAM513 powered up and was ready to use. There are no drivers or software to load. The camera just appears in the menus for FaceTime and Zoom, ready to be used. (Update: I found an Anker brand USB-C to USB-C cable that I had on hand and that cable worked fine with the CAM513. I am a happy CAMper.
I did some self video exploration and eventually arranged a FaceTime call with a friend. We compared the CAM513 to the embedded camera in a MacBook Pro that I purchased during the summer of 2020. The CAM513 offers a significantly wider field of view than the embedded front camera on my MacBook Pro. For a one on one FaceTime, I actually think the embedded cameras narrower field of view is better. With the CAM513 it was more of a one on “room” FaceTime. I became just part of the image rather than the dominant part of the image. However, I could see where this wider field of view would be good for a multi person (on my end) conversation and for streaming other types of video.
The video quality was significantly better. Though some might argue that being able to see more wrinkles and pores is not an improvement!
The audio is also good as reported by my friend on the other end. He said he thought the embedded MacBook Pro microphone might have delivered slightly deeper audio, than the CAM513, but both were very good.
I like the builtin mechanical privacy shield. I can simply rotate the privacy shield down and the camera lens is physically blocked. This gives some peace of mind that the evil eye isn’t watching us with the help of some hacker, when we are not looking.
One “con” that I noticed, is the camera is just heavy enough to cause my MacBook Pro screen to title backward by itself. If I have the MacBook screen tilted back a little bit, it is OK, but there is a critical point where the center of gravity and weight of the camera causes my screen to fall back to its physical backstop.
I did find there is an application (CamEngine 3.0.) that pairs with this camera on the AVerMedia web site. There is only a LITE version for the Mac. It is still beta software and doesn’t seem to do much yet. In fact, it seems a little sketchy because it requested to capture keystrokes from “any application” which I declined.
So overall, I’d say for most of my purposes my MacBook Pro camera and microphone are adequate for most of my requirements, but this camera should be very handy for certain situations and on my Mac mini which doesn’t have a camera…and should also be a great choice when more than one person wants to participate on the same end of a video call.
I’d recommend it to anyone who needs a camera or better camera than the one embedded in their computer.

Shark Vertex MultiFLEX DuoClean
I like the convenience of this style of vacuum. We have another model Shark that is similar in many ways...the Shark Rocket Pet Pro. We like that one and wanted to get another one like that.
The MultiFLEX DuoClean has some really nice additional features. We really like the convenience of grabbing a battery powered vacuum to make a quick pass around a room of the entire house. We have a central vacuum, but sometimes it seems like a chore to pull out the long hose and drag it around. So a quick grab and go vacuum is really handy.
Suction is adequate and quite good for a battery powered device. There is a turbo button for boosting suction when more is needed. Also when set on the carpet setting, the roller head and suction both seem to go into overdrive.
One nice feature is the articulating wand. You can press a button and flex the wand in the middle like a backward knee. This is really handy for vacuuming under a bed or chairs without having to bend down so far yourself. However, the motorized head is a bit too high to go under our dressers. This was true for the Rocket also.
I found that I really like the LED headlights. I was able to vacuum in the dark with no problem seeing the floor. I actually think the dirt was more visible with the lights off and just using the headlights.
The unit comes with several wand attachments including a soft flat one that looks like it would be for cleaning blinds. I’m not certain, but that’s my guess. All of these can be used on the end of the long wand or directly on the vacuum after removing the long wand. This adds some nice flexibility.
My “acid test” was a tough water absorbing rug in our mud room. I put the vacuum in carpet mode and took my time going over the rug. It did a good job picking up grit and sawdust that came off my shoes after some chainsaw work this afternoon.
When I was done testing, I had quite a bit of dust and dirt in the clear dust bin. I disconnected the long wand, held the unit over a trash receptacle and just pressed a button to dump the dust bin. It was very easy.
The instructions say to charge the battery completely before the first use. I did this before doing my test run. The instructions also say to run the battery all the way down before recharging in order to “condition” the battery. I did quite a bit of vacuuming, but still had a lot of “juice” left, so I placed it in the laundry room and left it running. It ran for quite a while before finally stopping. The instructions say it will run for 30 - 60 minutes depending on the setting, configuration and what you are vacuuming. That seems accurate to me. I vacuumed for quite a while in various modes with the long wand and power head attached and operating.
Overall, I think this is a very handy vacuum and does a fine job.
My only complaint is a fairly loud whine made by the motor. I did a simple sound level test using the NIOSH SLM app. The Multiplex DuoClean registered at nearly 88dB with in the carpet mode. The Rocket Pet Pro was around 85 dB in the same mode. The DuoClean is only 3dB louder (albeit on a logarithmic scale), but it also seems to have a more annoying pitch.
Overall, I give it high marks for everything other than acoustics. It is a bit of a toss up for me whether the articulating wand is a good tradeoff for the louder and somewhat more annoying level of noise. However, I will say I really like the convenience of this style of vacuum for quick cleanups. If you have two minutes to suck up some dirt before visitors arrive, this will allow you to spend the entire two minutes actually vacuuming.
As a bonus...now that we have two similar models. They use the same charger, so we don't have to worry about getting them mixed up. Also, even though the batteries are different models, they are identical in shape and seem to work on either vacuum, so I assume the only difference is runtime.

HP - ENVY x360 2-in-1 13.3" Touchscreen Laptop
This is a very nice looking and well made convertible Windows laptop. The box included the laptop and the power adapter. Physical setup was pretty easy. Cortana prompted me through it all. The volume was initially a bit loud. I had to turn it down.
The touchpad is logically divided with the left side being a left-click and the right side being the right-click.
I have a Microsoft account and use Office 365 so it was easy to connect to OneDrive and office apps. I was hoping to use Windows Face Hello, but it appears to not support that. I went in to Settings and it said the laptop didn’t have the right camera to support this, so I setup Windows Hello Fingerprint and PIN. I always register multiple fingers on both hands to allow for bandaids and other recognition issues
Setup seemed to really want me to sign in to Dropbox. I have a Dropbox account, so I did that.
The laptop comes with a 30 day trial for McAfee, but I use BitDefender, so I made that switch.
After the initial setup, I installed a few apps that I use on my Windows PCs. One is the Axis Camera Companion V4. For some reason, I had a lot of trouble getting that app to work on this laptop. I tried to run the HP Support Assistant to make sure I had all of the latest drivers, but that also would not run. I followed the instructions to restart my PC and ultimately to in-install and re-install Support Assistant. That fixed the SA problem. After that I ran SA and found three drivers that required updates. I updated the WLAN driver, Intel HD Graphics Driver and Realtek CardReader Driver. I was eventually able to get the application running.
I really like the buttons (function keys) for controlling the microphone and camera. Just like the speakers, I can turn them off with the touch of a button.
The HD display is very crisp and clear. Audio has nice fidelity, but lacks bass, most likely due to limitations in the size of the laptop enclosure. However, I did find both audio and video provided for a very nice streaming experience for me. Video was very pleasant to watch and hear.
Though I likely won’t use this as a tablet very often, the mechanics for converting to a tablet work very well and are very smooth. It is trivial to flip the display and start using it as a tablet. The display changes to “auto-rotate” automatically. The laptop doesn’t ship with a pen, so I don’t know how well that works.
Overall, I’d say this is another quality laptop from HP and I would recommend it to others looking for a product like this.
If I could withhold a half a star for shipping with some out of date software directly from China to me, I would do that, but for purposes of this review I’ll assume that is an early release issue and I’ll round up to 5 stars for a highly portable convertible laptop with nice features and attributes.

A solid capsule coffee system
on September 5, 2020
Posted by: AncientGeek
from Sunapee, NH
I have used Nespresso machines from time to time during my travels to Europe and the UK. I always thought it was a good mainstream home espresso pod brewer. When I had the opportunity to select the newer Vertuo Next system through the Best Buy TIN program, I quickly decided to try it.
The Vertuo system expands the Nespresso from espresso only to espresso and coffee in sizes ranging from 1.35 oz to 14 oz servings. The size is determined by the size and the volume of content in the capsule. The bar code on the underside of the rim of the capsule allows the brewer to identify the beverage and adjust the brew cycle parameters to match and optimize the beverage. You can read all about the systems on the Nespresso web site.
My first impression was with the packaging. I was very pleased to see there is no foam packing material and there is even a paper handle rather than the usual plastic handle on the retail box. It was very easy to get the brewer and frother out of the box and I can recycle the whole thing.
While setting up the brewer, I discovered one small crack at the top of my water reservoir. Fortunately it is in a spot that doesn’t matter for the machine function and is out of sight. So I haven’t needed or tried to seek a replacement yet.
The instructions call for setting up the WiFi connection first which is unfortunate since it isn’t used for much and seems to be temperamental at best. I was able to get it connected, but the next day it complained about being disconnected and I couldn’t get it connected with normal actions. I didn’t try to rerun the setup. To be clear, I have just replaced my networks at my homes with more sophisticated components. I have full coverage, over 70 devices on my network and I’m a retired IT professional. So, skill was not the issue. But you don’t need the WiFI connection in any way to use the brewer. It is currently a distraction and unfortunate detractor from Nespresso’s image for this brewer.
Next is an easy cleaning cycle that requires a larger vessel to catch the water. I used a large measuring cup. The cleaning cycle goes through several cycles... pumping up pressure and dispensing out the spout.
While it was cleaning, I studied the sample coffees that came with the brewer. The sample pack looks like pool balls or Christmas tree ornaments. They appear to use a different color for every beverage. I guess once you know the color of your favorite, that works ok. It seems overwhelming at first. But any system that offers a good selection variety will seem overwhelming at the beginning.
Brewing espresso or coffee is very easy. Open the top of the capsule compartment, drop in your capsule, close the top and move the handle to the lock position. Then press the button. The Keurig is a bit easier because the lock motion is an extension of the downward force needed to close (or open) the capsule compartment. This lock is easier with two hands (one to push down and one to slide the lever to the left), but feels very secure. I assume (but do not know) this brewing system uses higher pressure than a Keurig system. I’ve read that the Vertuo does not use the same 19 bar pressure as the original Nespresso brewer. Some aficionados appear to complain about that. I don’t know the strict definition of espresso, so I can’t say for sure if the Vertuo produces true espresso or an espresso like drink.
The brew cycle involves quick a few sounds. I gather that one sound is the capsule spinning around at various points in the brew cycle. Another sound is the pressure pump. Then, of course, the sound of the coffee itself being dispensed. Some people have complained about the noise. I did a side by side comparison with this Breville and a Keurig 2.0 brewer. I used the NIOSH sound level meter iOS app to measure the dB of sound. The two brewers are just about equal, so I’d say it isn’t horrible, but both are not exactly stealth brewing methods.
When you open the brewer, two spring loaded rails lift the capsule out and deliver it to a bin in the rear of the brewer. The bin can be removed on the left side for emptying.
The coffee is a little “dirtier” than a filtered coffee, but some people absolutely prefer that taste profile, so it is personal preference. I like them equally well. The coffee is also nice and hot.
The frother that comes in this model kit, works very well in my brief experience. The “instructions” are horrible...and mostly safety warnings. There are cryptic illustrations that I had to stare at for a few minutes to figure out. If you have to dedicate 90% of a booklet to multiple languages, you may as well tell everyone in those languages how to use and care for the device instead of keeping everyone scratching their heads trying to figure out what the heck that illustration is trying to convey. The point is to inform people who don’t already know how it works...do some usability testing, please.
However, the frother itself seems really nice! Pour in some skim milk and press the button. It seems like a really neat design. The magnetically coupled heating element spins around and creates great froth.
Overall, my first impression is very positive. I’ve ordered a bunch more capsules to continue doing my side by side evaluation. I really like the recycling aspect of the Nespresso capsules. Nespresso provides a postage free bag upon request just like HP does for empty ink (and toner) cartridges rather than having the consumer rely on the local recycling capabilities.
....several days later..
My capsule order arrived. The sleeves are very attractive and fit well on the shelf of an upper cabinet. The recycling bag I ordered was just in time to empty my capsule bin. When I dumped the bin, I discovered there are two parts. The top section holds the capsules and allows drainage into the bottom. The bottom bin holds any liquid that drips out of the capsules. When I dumped the capsules into the mailer bag, I dumped coffee water all over the floor. I’ll be more careful the next time, but this seems to be a design flaw.
Overall, I like the Vertuo Next brewer and the beverages it produces. I like the recycling model Nespresso uses for the capsules. It is a very solid capsule coffee system. I withheld one star. The water reservoir could be a bit small if you use the larger capsules and mine was cracked. The spent capsule bin can dump old coffee on your floor if you are not careful. The WiFi feature seems like a distraction at this point.

Logitech K380 Bluetooth Keyboard
Best Buy TIN had this keyboard as an option.  I decided to try it.  It is a Bluetooth keyboard that is designed for the Mac, iPhone and iPad.  It also reportedly pairs with versions 2 & 3 of the AppleTV.
I paired mine with my 11” iPad Pro and my 2018 Mac Mini. Once paired, I can switch connections with the press of a button. When I power on the K380, an LED momentarily lights up above the pairing key, indicating the device with which the K380 is currently paired.
The layout is nearly identical to the Apple Magic Keyboard without the numeric keypad. Only the top row of keys differs. There are 15 keys in that row on the K380 vs 14 on the AMK that I have. The key functions are very similar, but they are shifted. The K380 can be paired with three devices.  The gray buttons in the top row allow me to select which device I want to communicate with at any given time.   This forced a shift of the normal function key assignments to the right. The shape of the keys also differs in that the K380 key are round or rounded while the AMK keys are square or rectangular.
The keyboard action is really nice, IMHO.  It offers a little springlike resistance that helps with touch typing.  It has a very nice feel. After typing on both keyboards, I realized the K380 feel is very similar to the feel of my older, but equally comfortable Apple Magic Keyboard. I think that speaks very well for the K380.
It is powered by two AAA batteries. Logitech says they will last for 2 years.  It took some care and a little finness, but I was finally able to open the battery compartment to see the batteries. I was concerned that I might break the latch on the battery cover, but I was careful and managed to get it open without doing any damage.
I like that the K380 isn’t connected to the iPad at all.  I can use the iPad normally or grab the keyboard if I want to use it.  Many of the other keyboards are also covers, so when I want to shed the weight of the keyboard, I have to also give up the cover. There are pros and cons to both styles, but “detached” seems to work better for me, personally.
While typing this review in Notes, I powered off the K380 to flip it over. The on-screen keyboard popped up on my iPad Pro immediately. When I powered the K380 back on, the on-screen keyboard dropped out of sight again. I can also use the key on the top right of the keyboard to raise or lower the on-screen keyboard.
Using the K380 reminding me what I miss about a physical keyboard when I use my iPad normally. I like the Command-Tab method of cycling through my open apps and the ability to hold the shift key down while arrowing around to make a text selection very precisely. That is much easier than with my finger or using the space bar on the on-screen keyboard as a touch pad (which is now my second favorite method). I also like the “Delete” key rather than reaching up to touch the trash can icon. Command-V is also easier than touching the right spot on the screen and hoping the paste option shows up on the screen. I can also use a combination of actions like touching the screen where I want to paste a block of text and then using the arrow keys to fine tune where the cursor ended up.
I tried pairing K380 with the 4K version of the AppleTV, I couldn’t get it to pair. I’m not sure if I did something wrong or if it truly only works with the 2nd and 3rd versions of the AppleTV. I would like to be able to use the K380 with my AppleTV because typing text (selecting keys) on the AppleTV controller is horrible, but I usually pull out my iPhone or iPad and use the Remote app for this, so I’ll keep doing that. However, I could see where it would be handy to just press F3 (for example) and use my K380 to type on the AppleTV if I happened to be using the K380 with my iPad while watching AppleTV.
Overall, I think the K380 is a great little keyboard that I will use often. I normally take my iPad on trips and leave my MacBook Pro at home. I could take the K380 more conveniently than my MBP and while it doesn’t make my iPad a true MacBook, it does make typing and navigating my iPad (and any laptop I control remotely using my iPad) much easier.

Capture quality vlogs with this black GoPro HERO10 camera. The removable rechargeable 1720 mAh battery offers long shooting periods, while the rugged, waterproof design allows flexible use on different terrains. This GoPro HERO10 camera features a 1.4-inch screen for framing shots seamlessly, and the 23MP sensor captures 5.3K videos effortlessly.

I got the GoPro Hero 10 camera. Can I use it outdoors without my iPhone, and how do I save videos that I record on it with my SanDisk in it? Can I record a 25 minute long video with it?

Yes. You can use the camera (indoors, outdoors and underwater) completely from the buttons and touch screen interface. No phone or remote control is required. Those other devices just add flexibility.

There are options for saving the video. If you have the app, you can transfer the images via wifi or USB. You should also be able to use an adapter to connect the card to your Mobile device, MacBook or PC and pull the files off the card that way…via a photos app or the file manager.

I’m not certain, but I suspect you can make a video that long. Batty life is the question. I’ve never checked to see how long the batty lasts. It will depend on image quality, I’m certain. GoPro does allow the camera to be powered externally via USB-C, so if the internal battery doesn’t have enough capacity (which it may), you can power the camera from an external source.

The Shark Vertex combines incredible suction power with the convenience of a lightweight cordless stick. Can this vacuum be safely used on vinyl plank floors?

I certainly think so. The power brush head is very soft.

Can I use this with my Windows laptop even though it says it's for Mac? (I have a Dell XPS 2-in-1). If so, can I switch between Windows and Apple devices when using? Thanks!

Yes. However, the issue would be the keyboard layout. The K380 layout is optimized for Apple products. There is no “Backspace” key and several of the keys are labelled differently. (Cmd and Opt for example). If you can live with those differences, it does seem to work in the brief test I just performed on my HP notebook.

Are all go pro 6 accessories still compatible with the 7 ? ThankU

It appears to me that the mounts, grips and batteries would all work with the 7.

Does it use the same battery as the GoPro Hero 6?

I ordered a battery charger and an extra battery for the 7. The specs on the battery and charger indicate that the same battery works in the 5, 6 and 7. I have a 4, which uses the older style battery, so I had to order the new style for the 7.

Will all of the accessories (i.e. batteries, housings, grips, etc) that fit my hero 6 still fit the 7?

I’m not sure about the housing, it might. However, I think the batteries and grips will all work with the 7. From what I discovered, it appears the battery fits the 5,6 and 7. I have a 4 Silver which uses the older battery style. The batteries appear to have changed with the 5 and stayed the same through the 7 so far.

Can it be used as a dash camera

I have a Garmin Dash Camera and I’d say that a DashCam is a specialized device that isn’t easily replaced by an action camera or any other camera. A good DashCam will power on when you start your vehicle and start recording. It saves the files at regular intervals to maximize recoverability after a crash and make future review and retrieval easier. They also have G Sensors that automatically save recordings upon impact. They are really optimized for different purposes. You don’t need the aggressive image stabilization that comes with an action camera. You need good image quality, but not 4K and usually you are optimizing for storage capacity to some extent. High res action camera recordings are very large. That said, you could use voice commands and lower resolution recording with this camera and manage the files yourself. It could be made to work with some manual intervention.

The Back-UPS battery backup offers guaranteed power and surge protection for wireless networks, computers, gaming consoles and other electronics in your home or business. Models supply battery backup during outages and unsafe voltage fluctuations, as well as provide protection from damaging surges and spikes. They're available in 'tower' or 'floor' styles, and together with a variety of standard features, they are the perfect choice to protect your data and keep you connected

Is the cord that plugs into the unit replaceable? I am in need of a 15 foot length cord.

It is not “removable”, so replacing it would require opening the unit up. It would be easiest just to add whatever length extension cord you need.

Monitor your property from your smartphone with this Wi-Fi enabled Guardzilla 360-degree outdoor camera. The 100dB siren warns off potential intruders, while night detection records in dim conditions for enhanced security after sunset. This Guardzilla 360-degree outdoor camera instantly alerts your phone when motion is detected, so you can react quickly.

Is the video resolution at 720p or 1080p?

Neither. This camera has a hemispherical image which doesn’t directly translate to the HD resolutions we see in modern rectangular video products.
