Based on this website: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/getting-started/surface-pro-2-features it says that it has mini-display port. In that case it should work.
Mini Port Display ports are a standard configuration, and as an industry standard are supposed to be the same device to device and mfgr to mfgr your mileage may vary however
if it has a mini port display output it most likely will, the mini port is a standardized port from system to system, maker to maker thats what industry standards are supposed to be about.
I currently use a USB 2.0 to VGA adapter in addition to a mini display port to HDMI adapter. It allows me to run two monitors in addition to the tablet. You will not have sound through the monitor if you use the VGA. I too use the Surface Pro 3 with docking station. The products that I use are listed.
Products from my answer
j5create - USB 2.0 VGA Display Adapter - Silver
(1,010)
Microsoft - Surface Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI Adapter - Gray
from looking at the specs and the device, the surface pro 3 has the Mini Display port and this would allow you to connect a standard VGA monitor to the Surface 3 pro directly....
so no there is no Mini port on the docking station you would use the one on the side of the tablet
We would be happy to look more into this for you if you can reply with your product model number. We do not have enough information now to adequately address your issue.
I have the HDMI plugged into the proper outlet on my TV and into the DVI... which is then in my only DVI port on my laptop. My laptop screen flashes blue showing there is a connection, and will flash again when I break the connection but nothing shows up on the TV which is also on the correct input.
First this runs from your computer to your TV--so the mini display port should be plugged into your computer then it will feed to your TV. If you are hooking it into a DVI port then you are forcing a VGA into HDMI. Also the HDMI is not correct for the mini display port. Again the mini display port would be on your Mac computer then the VGA will be on your tv. Now if your tv has a DVI and not VGA then you can plug in a converter to transform your VGA to dvi
Not sure but there could a couple of issues, but I think it is the size/resolution of your computer screen vs the projector. There are times that the projector spreads it out which could be what is happening. Also make sure a complete connection is made. The age of the projector could be an issue to. The older the projector the harder the replication
