I think if you strapped it lightly to the passenger seat or had a passenger keeping an eye on it, you'd be fine. It seems like it might roll around if you take a turn too fast for it or if you slam on the brakes. I wouldn't necessarily do it. Maybe only if you're on the highway for miles and miles.
This actually works very well in your car. Just plug the USb port to you cigarette lighter and into your phone and it will recognise it and start playing.
Since it has a built-in battery you could use it in a car. You'd have to bring it inside to charge it. I'm also not sure about whether there is a convenient way to safely secure it. It could be a fairly substantial projectile in extreme driving conditions so leave it at home if you are driving your Lamborghini.
i just purchase this unit and charge it over night but only get just about 40 min of playing time what is the actual playing time on a fully charge unit..
It will play for 4-5 hours, depending on how loudly you have the volume. Then, the volume will gradually fade until the speaker dies. If you have a plug or a mini USB to USB charging cable, you can plug it in to a wall or car charger, though.
Unless your desktop has Bluetooth, you can't. There are Bluetooth dongles that use a usb port on your desktop that could pair it. Check the owner's manual on HK's web site.
If this computer does not have Bluetooth, you will need to purchase a Bluetooth adapter. I don't have the speaker in front of me. Not sure if it has audio in jacks
your pc has to have blutooth pairing capabilities ,which should be in the pc settings and it has to be enabled if you have it then you do asearch and connect .
If your computer has Bluetooth it connects like any other bluetooth device. If not, you might out of luck. I don't own this particular speaker but from the reviews I have read it seems to use some odd combination of both bluetooth and WiFi to connect and play music. I have talked to many audio engineers who have told me that WiFi speakers offer much better quality than bluetooth. While bluetooth is easier to connect to most devices, WiFi offers more bandwidth and less "jitter" in the continuity of streaming. Of course all of this is relevant to the environment in which the equipment is being used. I hope this helps.

Press the Blue Tooth Pairing button on the left upper side of the speaker then search for compatible devices on your Mac, It should pair from this point.
If your Mac has Bluetooth and WiFi it connects like any other bluetooth device. If not, you be might out of luck. I think Macs use airplay, a propriety WiFi format so you may have to get a bridge device of some type to transpose AirPlay to WiFi. Also, try connecting it to both bluetooth and WiFi simultaneously. I use with my Mac all the time. Click on Bluetooth in your system preferences and then click "setup device" make sure your speaker is in pairing mode which can be done by pressing and holding the Bluetooth button for 3 seconds until it beeps and starts flashing
Just turn the Bluetooth on your macbook and also on the speaker then from your MacBook pair with the speaker then you need to go to sound settings on your MacBook and choose harman kadron as your speaker then you are good to go everytime you connect your MacBook it will automatically choose the speaker.
The battery does not last as long as advertised. Possibly the battery needs replacing, even though I just bought these speakers...? So if anyone knows how to change the batter I would appreciate hearing from you...
Well that's the issues, its not replaceable...But i bet if you contacted Harmon/Kardon about the problem they would give you a solution odds are they would send you a new one or something like that
I have found the battery lasts about as long as advertised with normal volume use. The battery well obviously last less time than advertised at increased volumes. I'm not sure about how to take the battery out and if that is possible as I have not found the need after a couple of years yet.
The suggested battery life is normally if you're listening to it at the lowest level. If your listening to your speaker off the battery reserve for an extended period of time, I would recommend listening to it at a lower problem.
Hi, The best advice I can give would be to contact the manufacturer directly. Possibly email tech-support for advice. If your product is under warranty have that info available for them. Hope this helps.
Go into the settings on your samsung and turn bluetooth on. Then hold down the bluetooth button on the speaker until you hear a ping. Once you hear the ping, go into the bluetooth settings on your device and hit the harmon kardon speaker and your connected! Enjoy the tunes!
go in tablet settings under blue tooth make sure its enabled then do a search ,make sure you pressed the search on the onyx at the same time which is on the left hold it down till it sounds like an echo and release ,the 2 should then link .
Press on hold the Blue Tooth button on the speaker for a few seconds then open the blue tooth menu on your tablet and search for devices. It will ask if you want to pair with the speaker device.
first you must push and hold the pairing button on the speaker until the light on the speaker begins to flash then you must pull the drop down menu by sliding your finger from the top of the screen to the bottom and you will see a Bluetooth button, push and hold that button and select the onyx studio speaker from the list
Unfortunately no, this particular speaker only has bluetooth connectivity. Although, they do make versions of these speakers that will allow Wifi and AUX playback capabilities.
