Great printer, but could use some upgrades.
on May 7, 2023
Posted by: 91preludesi
My previous printer was a complete pain to use. If not used often enough, the print heads would clog and I would have to print 3-5 pages after cleaning the print heads to get it to print properly. The Canon doesn't have that issue.
First, setup was quick and easy. I set it in position, turned it on and it had me download the app. The app walks you through setup, which involves filling the ink tanks and installing a couple of print heads. This is where Canon did it right. Each color bottle has a unique "key" so they only fit their color. Filling the tanks was as easy as taking the cap off the bottle and turning it upside down on it's color. Once that was done I connected it to WiFi. This process was quick and I didn't have any issues.
The print quality is great. I initially printed a few copies from the templates menu (a blank calendar sheet and a couple of checklist sheets). Printing was very fast. My wife then needed to print something for work, which was in color. The colors were sharp and perfect. Canon states that this printer can get 6,000 pages of black and 7,700 pages of color out of the cartridges. That's very economical. With the cost of ink, I try to get as much out of it as I can.
It prints up to 11 ppm black and 6 ppm in color, which is more than enough for us. It prints great photos. As an amateur photographer it comes in handy and can print up to 8.5" x 11" photos.
The one drawback that I see is that the screen is quite small and not adjustable. My old printer had a larger, full color display that you could also tilt to get the viewing angle right. The Canon's display is flat against the printer and black and white. It is not easy to read if you're not directly in line with it. I wish that it was larger and the front control panel had the ability to tilt. Hopefully, in the future they will correct that.
Overall, it's a great printer for home/home office use.

Great way to keep cool!
on April 28, 2023

As someone who hates the heat (and lives in Georgia), I'm always looking for ways to keep cool. I had previously used the cooling towels that you wet and then wear around your neck. While they worked, they always left me soaked even after wringing them out. I've seen people wearing neck air conditioners and always wondered if they worked. I don't know about others, but the TORRAS Coolify 2s definitely works.
It arrived with 80% charge on the battery. I used it for a little while at work when I first got it and it cooled me down significantly. My next use was for cutting the grass. That was a game changer! I set it to cool at fan speed 3 (the highest) and stayed a lot cooler than not having it or wearing a cooling towel. The plates that sit against your neck get cool and you have cool air blowing upwards out of the side vents. I will say that in a quiet situation that fan speed can get a little noisy, but if you're outside it's not that noticeable. The cooling is very quick. You start to feel it as soon as you put it on and turn it on. Although I didn't need it, I tried the heat setting as well. It works great and I could see it being useful in the colder months. I grill year round and it will be perfect for that. It will definitely help during the summer standing over a 300+ degree grill in the Georgia heat.
It looks like it would be heavy, but it's not. It's quite comfortable to wear and you won't even notice you have it on after a few minutes. The soft piece at the back allows it to open and adjust to your neck size. There are buttons on either side. One controls the setting (cool, fan or heat) and the other is the on/off and fan speed buttons. There is a digital battery readout on the side so you always know how much battery you have remaining. I will say that I have a long beard and turning my head slightly will allow some of my beard hair into the openings. The only thing that happens is that I can hear my hair getting hit by the fan. It has never pulled a single hair. A huge plus in my book. The travel case is great. You can toss it in your suitcase and not worry about it getting damaged. Overall, I'm really impress with the Coolify 2s. It works great.

Perfect for keeping warm while grilling.
on April 3, 2023
Posted by: 91preludesi
I got this patio heater mainly for my wife who is always freezing, even when it's 70 degrees outside, but I use it while I'm grilling. I grill all year and it will be perfect for me when it's 20 degrees outside and I'm spending an hour at the grill.
First, it comes well packaged. With that said, it comes in many parts and assembly will take a while. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The top reflector comes in three pieces that you have to assemble. Easy enough. However, they come wrapped in a blue protective film. It's great for protecting it from scratches during shipping. I peeled back a small corner and started pulling expecting to get it off in one satisfying sheet. What I got was about a 1" square piece that came off. That wasn't a fluke, the entirety of the three pieces were this way. About 30 minutes of the assembly time were spent just pulling the blue protective film off. It was extremely frustrating. Beyond that, assembly wasn't too bad.
Once assembled I started it for the first time. The igniter uses a AA battery (included) and it starts quickly the first time. The instructions stated to keep it on low for five minutes before adjusting the flame to a higher setting. Once that was done, I set it to high. They rate it at 48,000 BTUs. It puts out a lot of heat. I put it about 10 feet from my grill and got warm enough that I had to turn it down. It definitely puts out good heat. My wife loves it. Before we had the little portable propane heater with the disposable bottles that my wife used. She used to have to sit in a chair and lean towards it to feel the heat. Not with this thing! She can stand 10 feet away from it and be quite warm.
Overall, it looks great, heats very well and will be used a lot. The only downside to it is removing the blue protective film and it needs a slightly bigger wheels. If it wasn't for fighting the plastic film I would easily give this five stars. Hopefully they will fix that. When I roll it into the garage, the wheels are a little small to get over the seam of the concrete so I have to go in at an angle with one wheel first, then the second while slightly lifting the entire thing.

Perfect helmet cam
on December 21, 2022
Posted by: 91preludesi
I've wanted a GoPro for a long time. I've always wanted to have one for when I ride my Harley. The HERO11 Mini is the perfect size. It's very compact and with the included mount, fits perfectly on my helmet.
After charging the camera and downloading the GoPro Quik app, I went for a short 20 minute ride. The conditions weren't ideal as it was overcast and misting. I wasn't expecting a lot and I've always worried about the wind noise with the camera on my helmet, facing the wind. After getting back home and going through the GoPro Quik app, I found the video of my ride ready to watch. It also made a short edited video of the ride which was 1:48 seconds. It just found highlights of the ride and stitched them together automatically. I didn't have to do anything. You can also edit your videos yourself if you want to. The app can automatically upload your videos to the cloud with their subscription service.
I was amazed at the complete lack of wind noise. Trying the camera for the first time, I made sure to turn my head a lot during the ride to not only check the wind noise at different angles, but also to see how smooth the video would be. At 60 mph, straight on, there was virtually no wind noise. Only after I turned my head past roughly 20 degrees did you get the wind noise. As far as the smoothness, it can't be beat. For being on a Harley that is vibrating like crazy, plus my head movements and being jostled around in the wind, the video couldn't be any smoother. When I rode over the curb at the driveway the video was perfectly smooth. It looked like I just floated over it even though it is a sharp bump.
I wear the smallest and lightest helmet (half helmet) and didn't notice any weight difference with the camera mounted. You could wear it for hours without getting fatigued. The video quality is exceptional. You can record up to 5k video, however, I set mine to 4k | 120 | wide. I'm using a 128GB SD card and after the 20:48 video it shows I still have 3.5 hours of space left on the card. Honestly, a 64GB card would be plenty. You want to offload your videos often anyway to prevent losing data if anything ever happens to the card.
Shooting options include: Standard (normal video), TimeWarp (time lapse with HyperSmooth), Star Trails (for capturing star movement), Light Painting (paint a picture with a flashlight), Vehicle Lights (captures headlight/taillight trails from cars with a time lapse), Time Lapse, and Night Lapse. I haven't tried anything other than standard video yet as it has been raining here since I got the camera. I'm definitely looking forward to star trails and night lapse though.
Being a "mini" it doesn't have a large screen. There is only a small screen on the top to navigate the menus. With only two buttons, it is very simple to use. The buttons are large enough to be used easily with gloves on. A perk for me since I always ride with gloves on. One button goes to the next menu selection and the other is basically the "OK" button. The small screen is bright enough to be seen in daylight. However, I would just recommend using the app to adjust settings and make any changes. I do like the fact that I can just press the record button and it turns on and starts recording immediately, which is great if I'm already wearing the helmet and have my phone in my inside jacket pocket. Another perk is the back mount option, which is what I use to keep the camera low on my helmet.
One downside is that it has a permanent battery. Not having a removable battery means that you have to stop using it and charge it before you can keep recording video. Whereas you could just quickly swap a removable battery and keep filming. Also, once the battery has reached the end of its lifespan, the camera is done. I've seen a lot of people complaining of overheating (as GoPros often do). I haven't experienced it, however, with it exposed to 60 mph wind in 40 degree weather, I don't imagine that it will. 100 degree summers in Georgia may prove otherwise.
Overall, I absolutely love the GoPro HERO11 Mini. It's exactly what I was looking for and perfect for the job.

Great camera at a reasonable price point
on November 22, 2022
Posted by: 91preludesi
I got this camera to put in our living room to keep an eye on the dog while we're at work. First thing out of the box, I had to figure out the cover on the bottom of the camera (where the pan-tilt mount goes). There's virtually nothing as far as instructions on that part. I pulled on the little plastic cover, but it was extremely tight. To avoid breaking anything on a brand new camera, I searched for it and found a video that shows it just pops off when you pull it. It took A LOT of force to remove that plastic cover. Once off, the camera simply snaps into the pan-tilt mount. One power cable runs to the mount and then there is a short cable that runs from the mount to the camera itself. Once I downloaded the app and scanned the QR code, the camera was linked with the app and a software update was installed. Setup was a breeze. The camera will run through its full range of motion initially. This is great for it, but also allows you to make sure that it won't bump into anything when you're controlling it. I initially had it too close to something on the mantle and had to move it forward slightly.
The image quality is pretty good, especially for a camera at this price point. You can zoom in and there are several options for monitoring. For example, it has motion detection, activity zones and the ability to flip the video if you need to mount it upside down. In the app, when viewing live, a control circle appears on screen. This allows you to control the movement of the camera. There is also a button for a 360 degree scan. This pans the camera at its current vertical height 180 degrees to the right, then 180 degrees to the left and the returns to centered. What I really like is that there is a "home" button. Once you get the camera centered where you want it, you can update the "home" location. Pressing the home button will return the camera to that spot so you never have to worry about moving it back manually.
There are couple of downsides for me with this camera. One, in writing this review, I pulled up the camera to check a few settings. The app told me that the pan-tilt mount wasn't connected and to check the power cable. I knew it was connected since the camera was working and it gets its power through the pan-tilt mount. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and everything was fine. I think my biggest gripe is that they don't have multiple users for the camera. For example, my other cameras allow me to have authorized users that I can send an invite to so that my wife can also see and use them. The Blink camera doesn't have that. They tell you to give them your login info and that is how they can view/use the camera. Why not be able to have multiple users for one camera? Everyone else can.
Overall, for the price, you can't beat it. Having the ability to pan/tilt the camera is great, and not something you usually see in this price range. I recommend it. The few downsides are not major, and the benefits of this camera far outweigh them.

Great camera for vlogging or photos
on October 17, 2022
Posted by: 91preludesi
I have always used a competitor brand of cameras since that's what my dad always used. In fact, I still use his old film camera that he had when I was born (I'm 41). I had since bought a DSLR from that brand and have enjoyed using it over the years. However, it is meant to just be a still camera. It can do video, but it's focus is still shots. As such, being a larger DSLR, it is heavier and more cumbersome.
The Nikon Z30 is basically meant to be a vlogging camera first, and a still camera second. A key factor in that is weight. The Z30, being a mirrorless camera, is lighter by far. This makes a huge difference when vlogging. Watch a YouTube channel that shows a lot of content of the creator with the camera pointing at them. They're holding it at nearly arms length when filming themselves. Holding a lot of weight like that for extended periods is tiresome. The Z30 combats that issue by being less than one pound without a lens. The screen flips around to be viewed from the front and the camera has a recording light on the front so you never have to guess if it's actively recording. The screen is also a touchscreen. This feature can be turned off. I noticed that while walking around, the screen would touch me and the camera would take a shot. If you use this camera for stills and wear it around your neck and end up with a ton of pictures that you don't remember taking, that is what is happening.
I received this camera with the Creator's Accessory Kit, which includes the ML-L7 remote, SmallRig tripod/grip, and Rode microphone. Although I didn't keep any recorded video, I carried the camera around for a while just walking around and filming. I can say, that the camera's light weight really showed. It wasn't tiring at all. The Rode microphone worked great at recording audio and really kept wind noise to a minimum. It's great that the remote seats into the grip (using a magnet) and is perfectly positioned to use while vlogging.
Both the camera and remote have "Function 1" and "Function 2" buttons which are programmable to do what you want. The grip feels great in the hand. Your index finger sits right under the top pivot point naturally giving you extra stability. Both camera and video capture buttons are perfectly positioned for your thumb.
The 4k resolution is great for videos, however, 30fps just doesn't quite seem enough. Even my phone records 4k at 60fps, so it seems that this camera should have that capability too. I will say that videos are perfectly clear and it's not a deal-breaker for me. The auto focus is quick to adapt to changing scenery or if you hold something up to the camera.
As far as photos, the Z30 is still great for still shots. The camera's auto focus will track the eyes of the subject (including people, dogs and cats). The screen will show a yellow box around the eye and if the subject moves their eyes, it will track them. I have mainly used this camera in "Auto" mode. It seems to know what I'm trying to do with the shot and adapts instantly. I have included a picture of a little flower. The camera focused on it and left the background perfectly blurry. Another shot of my car is in lower light conditions. It's clear and sunny outside, but both the car (in the shade) and the very bright background are perfectly clear and balanced. You can still see all of the details in the shade.
One feature that I wish the camera had was the ability to take a picture while recording video. This would be great for thumbnails for videos. Even if you're not actively recording, if you're in video mode, you can't take a picture. I understand why it doesn't, but it seems like a feature that would be possible to have since my phone can do it.
Overall, this is a great camera. Both for photos and vlogging. It's perfect for someone just starting out with vlogging. I would definitely recommend it with the Creator's Accessory Kit.

Purified and heated air!
on October 13, 2022
Posted by: 91preludesi
I had another brand's air purifier that was a massive eyesore. While it worked to purify the air, it was a huge white rectangle in the room and at high speeds it was incredibly loud. I got the Shark Air Purifier Max because it is a 3-in-1 unit. One of the key features for me was the addition of heat. My wife is a diabetic and is constantly cold.
Out of the box, setup is as easy as removing it from the box, removing the plastic covering on the unit, and the plastic covering the filter. Then, just plug it in and turn it on. The three modes are purified air, purified heat and purified fan. There is an adjustment knob on the side to switch between modes. When forward the unit is in purified air or heat mode. When switched back, the unit is in purified air mode. This mode maximizes the air purifying. A huge bonus with heat mode is that it has a thermostat. You can set it up to 86 degrees, or "HI" heat. If you set it to a specified temperature, say 78 degrees, it will maintain that temperature. The front display will show you the current room temperature. The display is easy to read and changes in real time. The outer ring changes colors based on the current air quality. Blue is good, orange/yellow is moderate, and red is poor. It also gives you a percentage reading as well. I've watched it change as our dog walks by it after coming in from outside. You'll see the percentage drop and watch the ring change colors. The Clean Sense IQ automatically tracks air quality and adjusts the power as needed to maintain clean, purified air. The HEPA filter captures allergens, dust and dander.
I placed it next to the couch so that my wife can enjoy the heat. With it sitting about 18" away from the couch and the fan at full speed, you can barely hear it. My laptop fan is louder than this thing! I can also feel the air coming out of it sitting on the other side of the couch. It moves a good amount of air and purifies up to 1,000 square feet. It can also oscillate. There are buttons on top of the unit to control all of the settings, but they went a step further and included a remote. The remote is great. It's round and sits in a depression on top of the unit and has a magnet to hold it in place. It's nice to not have to get up to change settings. If you have it in a bedroom, or just don't want the display bright, you can dim it or turn the screen off completely.
If you're looking for an air purifier, this is the way to go. It is feature rich and I highly recommend it!

For those looking for the best in the latest television technologies, the U8H should be a top contender. The most exciting 2022 upgrade is Mini-LED. With Mini-LEDs that are 50x smaller than traditional LED lights, local dimming and contrast control reproduce incredible black and white levels within the same scene like never before in the series. The U8H is now compatible with the Wifi 6e router protocol. Streaming from the wide selection of Google TV apps is now easier and smoother when connected to a dedicated router channel that won~t be competing with other connected devices on the same router. For gamers, the U8H now comes equipped with Dolby Vision Gaming and FreeSync Premium Pro for enhanced gaming picture contrast and even smoother, tear-free motion. And lastly, the U8H now comes with a 2-year warranty and is available in a 75~ screen size. 2021 was a huge year for the Hisense U8H series and with so many upgrades, 2022 looks to be just as promising.

Outstanding TV/Gaming TV
on September 15, 2022
Posted by: 91preludesi
This TV replaced our Hisense A6G 65" TV. While that is a great TV, this U8H is miles ahead of it in every way. Setup is quick and easy. I will say that the legs are very long at almost 15". You will need a deep TV stand so they don't hang off the edges. The first thing you notice is how bright and vibrant this TV is. The colors are amazing and really pop on the screen. The mini-LEDs allow for a lot of contrast in a very small area. While I use a 9.1 soundbar, I did use the TVs speakers for a couple of days and they are better than any other TV that I have heard. This TV has a small integrated subwoofer that really helps with the lower tones. The remote has quick buttons for Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Disney+, Tubi and Peacock.
This TV is incredible for gaming. I had been using my PS5 on my A6G TV and it worked great, but this TV is so much faster that I had to change my controller's sensitivity settings. I had grown used to the small input lag that most regular TVs have. This TVs input lag is so minute that my aim was way off in FPS games. The speed of this TV is getting close to dedicated gaming monitors. It's insane how fast it is.
You can't beat this TV, especially at this price point. I would put it up against the big names in TVs. I believe you would have to pay double for the big name TVs to get what this TV offers. I can't recommend this TV enough!

Great watch with many features.
on August 28, 2022
Posted by: 91preludesi
I've had the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier since new and have always loved it. It still performs great, but it was time for an upgrade to access more features.
This watch is a little larger than my previous S3 Frontier, but it doesn't feel like it while wearing it. It took me a minute to figure out the band (D-buckle Sport Band). You slide one side into the other and then it latches closed, so it took several times to get the fit just right. The plus side is that once it's set, it will always be set. You just open the clasp and take it off. Put it back on and close the clasp. However, this brings up and interesting problem. The watch comes with the little round charger that magnetically attaches to the back to charge the watch (it doesn't come with the wall plug, just the USB-C to USB-C charging cable). This is fine if you just want to set it on its side and charge it, but a lot of people use wireless chargers that need the watch to lay flat, which you can't do with this band without taking it apart every time you need to charge it. This means each time you would have to get the band back into the perfect position to wear it.
This is a feature-rich watch. It can take an ECG, monitor your sleep, track your steps and workouts, check your BMI and stress levels. It has a lot of features for outdoor activities (walking, hiking, biking, etc.). My wife and I go hiking fairly often with our dog, although I haven't had a chance yet to use the GPS features for hiking. It's been raining since I got the watch. It has the ability to use .gpx files for hiking trails and can leave breadcrumbs so that you can always find your way back.
After the initial charge I started wearing the watch around the clock. I don't normally wear my watch to bed, but I wanted to test the sleep feature. It tracks the exact time that you slept, how many calories you burned, how long you were awake, how much was REM/light/deep sleep as well as your blood oxygen level and how long you snored. The next morning I used the GPS feature on my trip to work. Before each turn the watch would vibrate to let me know that a turn/exit was coming up and showed it on the watch.
The screen is bright and easy to see, even outside. Samsung tried to keep the rotating bezel but instead of it being a physical piece on the watch, you swipe around the outside edge of the screen. It works, but I just miss the actual bezel. There's just something satisfying about rotating an actual bezel that I will always miss.
I honestly can't speak to the durability of the screen itself. I haven't hit it on anything yet. Although I can say that my Gear S3 Frontier had many things hit the screen over the years and it doesn't have a single scratch and this glass is supposed to be even tougher than that. Also, the raised edge should help to protect the glass as well.
I've been getting about two days of battery life. I've been wearing it 24-hours a day and being new, I've been playing with it a lot. Samsung claims 80 hours of battery life, but I doubt most people will see that. I'm currently at 71% battery and if I were to turn on "Watch Only" mode which turns off everything except the watch face when you press the home key, it shows that I can get 20 days and 5 hours of battery life. At my current rate (everything on: bluetooth, GPS, and screen at full brightness, etc.), it shows I have 2 days and 1 hour left. I'm sure it will get a little better after I've had the watch for a little while and stop playing with it as much, but for me two days is reasonable.
Overall, I love it and would definitely recommend it. My only complaint is that they should have put a rotating bezel on it, or at least had that as an option. If I decide to use a wireless charger with this watch, I will just change out the band.

Blazing fast router with great coverage.

I am always on the hunt for a better router. I've had everything from standard routers of the past, to the latest mesh networks. I have a lot of devices connected to my router and need fast speeds to keep up with everything as well as good coverage. We have a smaller house at 1,400 sq. ft., and it is anything but an open floor plan. Each room is closed off to the next.
You will need to download the Nighthawk app for setup and to use the features of the router. The app includes a device manager to see your full list of devices, speed test, parental controls, WiFi analytics (signal strength, speed tests for different rooms of your house, settings for each of the three bands, guest WiFi and a traffic meter). It also comes with a 30-day free trial of Armor Security, you can pay for the yearly subscription after the trial if you wish.
At any given time we have around 30 devices connected to the network. (There are several more, but these are the ones that are always on and connected). The tri-band is extremely helpful. I can split the devices connected between the three bands based on my needs. For example, my phone stays on the 6GHz band, while my smart-home devices stay on the base band (2.4GHz).
My old router was in the master bedroom and I had nodes in various places throughout the house/garage. It still didn't have the best coverage. With this router, I decided to move it to the center of the house in the living room. I put it in what should be a bad spot signal wise. I have it on the bottom shelf of our TV stand behind a door. With everything so close to it, and it being almost on the floor behind a door, I figured it might struggle to get a signal out, but it does great. I live on one acre and I have strong signal all over the property and my outdoor cameras have a full signal. I have my PS5 and my JBL Bar 9.1 soundbar wired to the router.
I will say that this router is quite large (13.6" wide, 6.47" high and 8.16" deep) and will be harder to hide than most current routers. I don't mind the size as it is hidden away and fits in my TV stand.
As far as some of the devices connected and where they are, I have three TVs connected (each with a FireStick), one TV is in the garage. Four smartphones, three smart watches, three Alexa Shows, many light bulbs, two outdoor cameras (one on the front porch and one outside the garage), two laptops, a doorbell and security system. I never have any lag while gaming and no buffering while streaming TV.
This router is great if you have a larger space and many devices connected. I've finally found a router that checks all of the boxes and covers all of my needs. I highly recommend this router.

Keep the competition in your kill zone, as you enter your comfort zone with the Razer Iskur~an ergonomic gaming chair designed for posture-perfect hardcore gaming. Fitted with an adjustable, ergonomic lumbar support system, we~ve got your back when it comes to keeping you in prime gaming form.

Is this the all-black edition Iskur chair? I asked support and they said it was, but right before ordering, I decided to double-check the model number. When comparing to another site, it seems this is the Black/Green Edition. Which is it?

It is black with lime green accents.

#1) do you have to purchase mounts separately or is the mounting system included? #2) what do you mean by park mode? #3) does this camera system record a rear-end accident or is it just cabin recording?

1) The mounts are included. 2) Parking mode is when the camera will come on and start recording automatically, even when the vehicle is off. This way, if you're in a store and someone bumps into your vehicle it will record the incident. 3) You could choose to mount the rear camera in the front for cabin recording, but there is so much cable length that it is meant to go in the rear windshield to record a rear-end accident. The camera screen overlays the rear camera onto the front camera, however, in the recordings, they will be two separate files.

The three-axis gimbal stabilizes the 48.0MP camera for stunning photos and clear videos, while the 3500 mAh battery delivers dependable power for every flight. This DJI Mavic Air 2 drone features FocusTrack technology for advanced obstacle avoidance and target tracking.

When using the new DJI Mavic 2 Air Do you need an adapter to use a galaxy s9plus with a case on it

I have the Galaxy S8+ with the Otterbox defender case and I have to remove it to fly. The phone/case fit in the controller fine, but the connector is too short to reach through the case and get to the charging port.

DJI offers a crash and damage replacement warranty for 79.00 - the only warranty I see here is GS for 2yr 350.00 Is the DJI warranty not available if bought through BB?

I received an offer through the DJI Fly app after connecting my drone to purchase their warranty.

I have the Samsung s9+, and have heard and read about compatibility issues with Android phones. Has this been resolved so the app works with Android phones now. They seem to have a 5 star drone and a 2 star +- app. Thx

I have the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and have no issues at all. The app works perfectly for me. I have had zero issues.

How does this headset connect to a ps4 slim? Does it still require the optical cords? Is there anything extra needed to be purchased to make this compatable for a ps4 slim?

I was told that you can connect the optical cable to the TV since the slim doesn't have an optical cable port. However, I've been using mine without the optical cable at all and they work perfectly.

Is this a light headset? If not, will it cause any head pain or anything? Im using this for long term use.

These are fairly light. I just used them for 4 hours with no fatigue. They're not hot on the ears either. My Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2s would get very hot on my ears.
