Great release of one of the MCU's best

I'm not the biggest MCU fan as a whole, but Winter Soldier, which takes the 1970's flick THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR and puts a superhero sheen on it, is one of the absolute best films they've done. From themes down to the various beats in the story. Plus Robert Redford!
This release is pretty fantastic - the 4K HDR is a big upgrade on the bluray, the Atmos mix is solid but you'll have to turn it up some more than your normal levels (like all Disney releases) and the steelbook is some pretty rad artwork.

This release is great, the 4K HDR just POPS and the colors are great, the Atmos mix is solid though in Disney fashion you have to turn it up a little more than most studios releases. The film itself is kinda just meh for me though, sorry fans. The big moments in these feel less like emotional punches and more like cop outs for the sake of continuing the story into yet another film so more money can be made.

I honestly don't like Civil War as much as a lot of other MCU fans do. It feels a little too much like Winter Soldier (aka 3 Days of the Condor Marvel edition) part II. It didn't add enough new stuff for me, and the airport scene is extremely poorly staged and photographed for the simple sake of "this will be a cool shot for comic fans." Still a solid entry, I just felt it was a little repetitive in it's themes.
This new release has awesome artwork on the steelbook, the HDR on the 4K pops, and the Atmos sound mix is pretty great though, in typical Disney fashion, requires you to turn it up a little more than most releases.

Nice release of a fun Comic flick

Before the MCU kinda got their formula down, they tried some different things. This Rocketeer (same director in fact) flavored WWII flick is a lot of fun and very nostalgic to older America.
This new release has an awesome steelbook and new HDR 4K, the Atmos sound mix is pretty great but unlike other studios releases, requires you to turn it up a little more than you typically do.

Field of Dreams is stone cold classic at this point, both in the sense of baseball/sports films, and fantasy dramas to boot. Costner has never been as approachable and the story continues to touch. The steelbook art is great, the 4K HDR remaster looks truly filmic and organic and the new sound mix sounds great.

Coming from someone who spent years and year with plasmas talking about their blacks and contrast ratios and general uniformity, it took me a lot of looking around to find a 4K to replace my plasma days with. Yes, I can spend (substantially) more money and get a bit better pic quality, but in the price range, nothing touches these. If you dial in the settings (including the "secret" expert settings on the roku phone app) you can get great blacks and contrast for these. Blacks only beaten by OLED, and you have dolby vision support in addition to regular HDR10.

There's nothing I can say, you most likely love these movies or just haven't seen them. The steelbook is awesome, the 4K remasters are, while grainy (and true to the source), as good as these will ever look. Dolby Atmos sound, and new bonus material like long lost deleted scenes.

Underrated Action Epic gets it's 4K due

Waterworld is mostly remembered for being a trouble big budget production (which it was) and for being a box office bomb (which it actually wasn't) but it's actually a fun post apocalyptic action flick with some practical stuns that are absolutely insane and would be all CGI today.
The new 4K transfer looks good and the new DTS X audio track COOKS.

Best release ever for the classic '89 Bats!

Warner brothers, though with some occasional missteps, is typically in the upper echelon of studios when it comes to taking care of their back catalogue with various remasters and such. The new 4K UHD of the '89 BATMAN is no exception, with an excellent new video transfer that takes away the warm tint of VHS and DVD era masters, and makes the film look like it does on 35mm.
The new atmos mix brings new life as well, as they've finally been able to "finish" the sound mix. Originally they rushed and had to use already created fx from Aliens and other projects instead of creating their own sound for the film.

I really dig the simple but fun artwork and inner screenshots for the steelbooks of the trilogy, though I hope the eventual steelbook for 4 also matches. The movies all look better than ever, even with them being technically uprez from 2K master files, and the HDR really POPS all the colors, and the Atmos sound mix gets the most out of them, even if you have to turn it up a few notches higher than typically, cause how Disney masters things.
