longer than your standard candelabra bulb...

Summary: It's another great bulb for the Hue system, but I wish I could give it 4.5 stars because it's slightly longer than any of our existing candelabra bulbs and sticks out of the lamps in a funny way where our old bulbs didn't... If you have a different lamp with a slightly bigger shade, then this is definitely a 5 star product for you.
When I bought my starter pack of hue bulbs a few years ago, I had no idea how much I was going to fall in love with the system. Slowly, room by room, I've been converting the house to Hue. However I've been waiting years for Philips to release a candelabra base bulb in the US, and I ordered as soon as they were available. They just arrived and I was eager to swap them out so I could finally get some smart dimming into the bedroom...
Setup:
I ordered three bulbs and all of them were synced to the app within a minute. Setting up Hue bulbs is always the easiest smart device setup- no changing wifi networks or entering passwords. You just open the app, tap on Search, and a few moments later they show up. I'm pretty sure the longest part of the process is me figuring out what to name the bulb.

"Homework. Cheerleading practice. Killing vampires

Many people forget that this gloriously cheesy, lovely movie was the world's introduction to Buffy, the Vampire Slayer (albeit a less dark and serious version than fans of the tv show may be used to), and a product of Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV), Angel (TV), Firefly (TV), Dr. Horrible, The Avengers, etc....) as well as the triumphant return of Paul Reubens, aka Pee-wee Herman. I love that classic actors like Rutger Hauer and Donald Sutherland get in on the fun, with Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry, Hilary Swank, David Arquette , and Stephen Root (remember Milton, from Office Space? Not to mention a huge list of acting and voice credits), really making this campy vampire movie classic.
If you're looking for "serious" vampire flicks, this isn't for you. If you're looking for some laughs, great one-liners and the story of a classic, early 90's valley girl, turned the latest in a long-line of initially reluctant Slayers, give this a try. If you look carefully, you might also see the tiny cameos from Ben Affleck, Alexis Arquette, Seth Green, Ricki Lake and even Slash, from Guns N Roses!

Classic 80's teen angst

I have a soft spot in my heart for the movies of the '80s -- "The Blues Brothers," "Ferris Beuller's Day Off," "Wargames," "Back to the Future," etc. Somehow the films of this era feel more "real" and "honest" than modern cinema, with actors who could be comedic without feeling fake or over-the-top and an overall feel to said movies that seemed more realistic and less contrived than most modern films. Granted, many of these films have become classics while other films of the '80s have fallen into obscurity, but there's a reason they've endured as classics, and I would rather re-watch one of these films than suffer through another mindless "comedy" put out by Hollywood's current crop of actors and directors.
"The Breakfast Club" is a rather dark comedy/drama, especially in contrast with John Hughes' usual body of work. But it's still a poignant and unflinching look at high school and its cliques, and how youth are shaped by their parents, teachers, and other adults... for better or for worse.
It's Saturday at a Chicago high school, and five students have shown up for a full day of detention for various infractions of the rules. They represent a variety of traditional high school cliques -- Andrew, a star wrestler and the quintessential jock; Brian, a quiet but well-meaning young genius; Claire, an aloof and slightly snobbish prom queen and popular girl; Bender, a foul-mouthed rebel who constantly butts heads with the school principal who oversees the detention; and Allison, a silent and eccentric artist who occasionally acts out for attention. At first the five students bicker and hassle one another, chafing under the jerkish principal's vigil and finding ways to push one another's buttons. But as hijinks ensue and secrets, pasts, and revelations come to light, the students realize they have far more in common than they realized... and the lines between cliques are never as clear-cut as they seem.
Writer/director John Hughes is know for having a fairly light tone in his movies -- "Ferris Beuller's Day Off," "Home Alone," "Sixteen Candles," etc. -- so "Breakfast Club's" darker and even bleak tone may come off as a shock to those used to his sillier comedies. But this tone works for this particular movie, as it's not afraid to deconstruct the typical high school comedy and the various stereotypes that tend to populate said comedies. And it probes deeper into what shapes and influences teenagers than most teen movies do, even if the picture it paints isn't very pretty -- as characters in the film say, "Are we all going to grow up to be like our parents?" and "When you get older, your heart dies." That's not to say the movie isn't without its funny moments, though -- it still elicits plenty of laughs, even if the mood sometimes whiplashes between light and dark and some of the humor is of the "black comedy" variety.
The acting in this film is pretty strong as well. It stars members of the "Brat Pack," a group of young actors especially popular in the '80s -- Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, and Anthony Michael Hall. All of them slip into their respective roles almost effortlessly, and bring genuine pathos to their characters. It would have been all too easy for them to fall into the usual stereotypes, but here even the characters that should be unlikable, like Nelson's foul-mouthed and belligerent Bender, are made sympathetic and relatable. Paul Gleason is deliciously unlikable as the harsh and slightly corrupt Principal Vernon, but I found the janitor character (pretty much the only other notable character in the movie) to be somewhat forgettable.
A well-deserved classic, far more honest and in-depth than most other teen movies. Probably best for ages 15 and up due to swearing, drug use, sexual conversation, and a very blatant (but funny) panty shot.

Perfect!

Wickedly funny performances from Michael Caine, Steve Martin and Glenn Headley make this 80's comedy timeless. Caine's continental con-man gives Martin's grifter a master class in sophistication, culture, European manners and running a big con. You will not regret watching 'Ruprecht' hammering his pots and pans while yelling "Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma"- one of this film's many highlights. Glenn Headley is the love interest with a heart of gold- don't miss it!

Came in factory sealed in a beautiful sleeve for all 5 movies with the individual movies themselves also came factory sealed and all in perfect condition. The only "problem" that I had with this was the fact that I got the Ultra-Violet code for all five movies as advertised as well as Retribution coming with an Ultra-Violet code for that movie. Not exactly a problem, but compared to some of these reviews that's nothing.

All three seasons of the series Hannibal are included in this collection, along with more than 20-hours' worth of extras. Based on the characters made famous by author Thomas Harris, the series stars Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fiswhburne and Mads Mikkelsen.

The best TV shows that not many people watched

It's been a week since this particular box set was released with no reviews posted, which probably says something about how little this fantastic TV show was viewed when it aired on NBC. I was one of those people also, and did not watch it until about a month ago thanks to Amazon Prime, and what an amazing show this is.
Everything from the acting, music, writing, and imagery is top notch, and had the series not been cancelled too soon (a revival is still possible), it would have been the definitive adaptation of Hannibal.
This box set, as far as packaging goes, takes the previous three Blu-ray releases and gives it a slip case to house it altogether. Everything is identical to those releases, and all previous special features are still here. Nothing new is added here. This is a great option for those who have not seen the show or for the fans who haven't bought the previous sets.

"Desire is irrelevant, I am a machine..."

Okay, I admit, this movie is a bit of a turkey (at least compared to 1 & 2--which were off-the-chain AWESOME!!!) but, the original trilogy needed to close so the new level of post-Judgement Day movies could begin. That being said, my only real beef with this movie was that the kid John Conner in T2 seemed to have a bigger pair than Nick Stahl (I think I spelled that wrong--but who cares?) The point, they could have made him a tad more hardened---it couldn't have hurt the movie any more & it might have actually improved it--but I digress...
This show WAS needed to tie-up loose ends, but it could've been better. I did purchase the DVD version to complete my T-collection and the price was right. I thoroughly enjoyed the free watch on Amazon instant video that came with my purchase,
But, I gave this flick a 3-star because it wasn't quite as good as 1 & 2 which straight-up 5-stars and 3 deserved a 3-star and Salvation would be 4 1/2 stars due to it's epic story premise where the whole resistance/Terminator fight comes full-circle where man & machine must put everything on the line... that is the story.
But, don't take my word for it---check them all out for yourself.

A fittend end to the franchise

Fitting end for the Resident Evil movie franchise. I admit my interest in watching these movies has been decreasing after each installment that has been released. So I am very happy that before these movies ran our of a budget they were able to make one final installment to this movie franchise. The action was great in this movie and had several fitting call-backs/reference to all the movies that preceded it. This final chapter does fans right, but was still not as great as I wished it would be.
*Slight Spoilers Below Beware*
I was very disappointed that the franchise wasn't able to get all the actors/characters back into this final movie, as many stories were either abruptly ended or left unanswered (kind of). I was sad that all the characters who were in the previous movie all ended up in the same place and all basically had the same anticlimactic fate that we find out about at the start. It seems like a disappointing move, but it is understandable considering this was the final installment. I'm not sure if it was a creative decision or if simply most of the actors declined to return. Either way, I still enjoyed this final chapter as I'm sure most fans did as well. I was just hoping it would end on a higher note. But definitely still a must watch for any fan!

Great Coming if Age film

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is a truly moving story about Charlie, a freshman in high school, who is by no means popular. He is very shy, but that all comes down to a mental issue that occurred because of something that happened when he was younger, which you will get the gist of later on in the book. The author, Stephen Chbosky, has plotted this story very well. It isn't your average book set up - Charlie writes letters to an anonymous reader known as 'Friend'. Charlie tells this person everything he does and feels, who he meets and loves. Charlie meets two outgoing outsiders that are much cooler than him, but they accept him and he finally feels included. Patrick, a gay, happy and outgoing teen, and Sam, a beautiful young woman, introduce Charlie to a new world filled with sex, drugs and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. They also show Charlie the power of music and Charlie becomes more and more music savvy. He particularly likes The Smiths and the song ‘Asleep’. Charlie goes on a rollercoaster ride full of emotions, and learns that he has the greatest friends he could wish for. If you read this story you will laugh, cry and keep reading on. It is not to be missed. Charlie will show you that high school can be enjoyed if you have the right friends and becoming a teenager isn't as scary as you think, even though it seems that way. Although, I could not relate to any of the characters in the book, it was interesting to learn about what other people might be going through. This book really opened my eyes, and made me realize that people might seem fine on the outside, but there are often bigger things going on in their lives. Charlie's story touched me, because I feel like many authors don't like to talk about the things that Charlie went through as a kid. It was a refreshingly new way of writing. I would most definitely recommend this book to a friend because I think that everyone would enjoy reading this book. If I could change something about this book, I wouldn’t change anything. Although some parts were sad, I think that the book wouldn't be half as good if anything was changed in it. All in all, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is an easy and fun read, and I highly recommend picking it up.

Amazing film! Girl-Power Meets 1940's Class!

This is another great classic! If you are a fan of old.movies, I'm sure you'll love it! If you are a fan of the First Wives Club, I think you will really enjoy it as well! It has all the girl-power of the modern day, with all the class of the 1940's! It's a great film for a Girl's Night In! The most amazing thing about this movie to me is that it has an almost all female cast. You never see the men the women are discussing, loving, fighting for/about, & yet, their characters are just as involved & part of the story as the women you see throughout the film! It's must-watch masterpiece from the golden age of the silver screen!
