Seems like a nimor upgrade from the QC 35 II headset with an "Aware" feature that allows you to hear a little better when walking around, say, traffic. ANC is its usual awesomeness, as is the Bluetooth set of features.
Deducting one star as my particular pair had a bad wired input and had to ship them back a week ago as of this writing. Bose emailed me today to tell me they received them and eill email me again when its replacement is shipped back out. This matters to me as I also use them for connectovity to my computer sound card.

Yes. You need to be connected to the internet first in order to "route" the information through the router, i.e., you should have your DSL or cable modem working before setting this up.

Microsoft officially stopped doing this a couple of years ago as you know, but unofficially they're still supporting it. This article (dated June 2019) will show you how to do it.

My 570 graphics card requires an 8-pin power plug. I see the picture that looks like two 4 pins can be inserted together to create an 8. Is this correct?
This is correct. Any combination of power pins can be used for a GPU, as long as the GPU doesn't exceed what the supply can provide. That said, I would recommend having at least 100 watts more in a power supply than you actually need as it's always a good idea to have some headroom.
