Such a Great Sequel

Many people criticize this movie for not being AS good as the first film, but I feel this is a strong continuation of the story and creates some really great character moments along with some of The most impressive creature effects done in modern cinema.
Seeing this movie on crystal clear 4K really is a great new way to experience the film, especially with the bright reds, organges, and greens that really pop off the screen.
This set comes packed with hours of special features that every fan of the series will love as well as a digital redemption code.

Amazing Anniversary Set!!

If you grew up in the ‘90s, then Batman The Animated Series was no doubt a huge part of your childhood. So when the series creators branches out to bring about an entirely original series set 40 years in the future with all new characters, it was a monumentally awesome experience to see the stories continued.
Back in the days of cell-drawn animation, there was a greater level of care and detail incorporated into these shows, but they suffered (or were enhanced depending on how you look at it) by the unpolished and rough animation and color of standard definition. Seeing Batman Beyond cleaned up in its entirety is a real treat for all fans of the series and brings back so many great memories.
Not only does this set come packed with every episode of the original series, but also includes a copy of the feature length movie Return of the Joker, and exclusive special features disc with new extras, a digital redemption code for the whole series, but also an exclusive Batman Beyond FunkoPOP figure celebrating the 80th anniversary of Batman!!
If you’re a fan of the DCAU or even just a fan of great stories and animation that you can watch with your friends or introduce your kids to, this is an amazing set to own and well worth every cent!!

A Lackluster Original Film

DC Comics has long been able to hang its hat on being the best in animated features and animated series, but not all their animated movies are hits. Unfortunately, I found Wonder Woman: Bloodlines to be one of those lackluster movies.
The story is constantly jumping all over the place because they overflow it with too many characters, the dialogue is extremely wooden from all characters/actors involved, and there seems to be a real lack of character motivations. The biggest hampering being that it tries to re-tell Wonder Woman’s origin again that was clearly done better in the 2007 animated film and even more greatly surpassed in the 2017 live action film.
This movie just felt rushed and the story wasn’t fully fleshed out to be worth telling. The animation and action are decent enough and the picture/color is great. The special features are interesting and provide some cool insights.
You also get a free digital copy as well in this release.

Hellboy was one of those secret treasures when it first came out and has since become a cult classic. Combining fun with horror elements, it’s a fantastic adaptation that oozes with charisma from the cast and great action set pieces.
This is quite literally the ultimate set as not only does it Upgrade the sound and picture to the 4K standard we’ve now become accustomed to, but also includes the theatrical and director’s cuts, over 3 hours of special features both from the original home video release and also a couple of new features for this set, and it includes a free digital copy.
If you don’t own this movie or if you’re thinking about upgrading to 4K, this is most definitely a worthwhile purchase!!

This is a pretty great rom-com with a cool concept: what if you were a struggling musician who was the only one who remembered the Beatles?
With amazing performances and stellar music, this is a truly fantastic film! I’m not all too sure how many times I’ll rewatch it, but it’s very fun. It’s also PACKED with special features that go behind the scenes of the process of making the film!!

Not a True 4K Transfer

I’ve said this before in other 4K Marvel movie releases, so it’s not so much a surprise for me, but this is not a true 4K transfer and is actually an upscale.
Another non-surprise (but still bitter disappointment) is that this is a bare bones, standard re-release of GOTG that has the exact same special features as the original release. Given that my purpose for rebuying these movies at this point is just to have all of them be in 4K, I got the basic of what I wanted from the purchase, but I’m still very disappointed in Disney and Marvel that they couldn’t treat their fans a bit better with these releases.
And now seeing that they’re about to release entire Infinity Saga 4K collector’s set for $599 which comes with other features is incredibly infuriating.

A True Masterpiece

I should first say I own Blade Runner 2049 on 4K UHD and would unequivocally say that the 4K version the best way to watch it. I should also say that there are very few films I feel the need to desire to also own on 3D.
BR 2049 is such an amazingly beautiful and well shot masterpiece that the 3D presentation is well worth it. Yes, many of the scenes don’t really pop, but in the bigger action sequences and especially in the city and landscape sequences, the 3D really blows you away!!
I wouldn’t say it hugely advances the film, but if you’re a fan of in-Home 3D movies and want something visually captivating, this is a great title to add to your 3D collection. If you have the choice though for only one version, I would most highly recommend the 4K edition.

With that said, if you’re a hardcore horror movie fan and love the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, this is the PERFECT documentary. It quite literally covers everything. From the initial conception of the first film all the way up to the recent remake. Everything and anything you could want to know about the series is covered in this incredibly thorough documentary.
It’s extremely educational both from a filmmaking point of view and a box office/money making point of view. Hugely recommended for all horror fans!

With that said, if you’re a hardcore horror movie fan and love the Friday franchise, this is the PERFECT documentary. It quite literally covers everything. From the initial conception of the first film all the way up to the recent remake. Everything and anything you could want to know about the series is covered in this incredibly thorough documentary.

As a huge fan of ‘80s horror movies, the Nightmare on Elm Street films hold a special place that other franchises like Friday the 13th and Halloween don’t.
