A Great 4K blu ray Set, but a lackluster film

As the final installment to the Skywalker Saga, Rise of Skywalker falls short for me. While brilliantly executed from a filmmaking and production standpoint as the film is gorgeously photographed with top of the line special and practical effects, the story is an utter mess. It’s clear that they didn’t have a clear destination or road map when they set out to make this trilogy, and it’s ultimately caught up with them here in this film because several story arcs and character arcs are either rushed through or abandoned quickly. In some cases (like a certain central antagonist) are thrown in out of left field because they had no other creative directions to go.
I’d say if you’re a Star Wars fan and want to complete your collection, then this is a worthy set to purchase. The 2 hr documentary makes it worth it alone if you’re a filmmaking buff. But I’d say if you’re just a casual fan, then I’m not sure if you’ll like the film.

A Great Thrill Ride

Having seen so many Marvel movies at this point, it’s good to finally see the Justice League come together on th big screen. While rushed in a few places and lacking a singular tone, Justice League is still wholly enjoyable. It’s fun, colorful, and provides a good sense of adventure and world building.
The special features on this set are more geared towards the comics and less on the production of the movie which is a bit of a bummer. I do like the 30 min long feature on the making of the suits though!! This set also comes with a free digital redemption code.

This has been the movie we’ve all been waiting for. With more than 15 films leading up to it, Infinity War brings together the entire MCU in a collective battle against Thanos that will rock the universe to the core.
This is not a true 4K transfer and is really just an upscale, but that doesn’t hinder this set. I was a bit disappointed by the subpar special features as I would’ve liked some more behind the scenes details on the making of the movie, but I’m used to that by now with these Marvel releases. If you’re a fan of the Marvel movies, this is a MUST-OWN.

If you enjoyed Deadpool 1, you’ll probably love Deadpool 2. This set comes complete with separate 4K disc for the theatrical and extended cut of the film and also 2 additional blu ray discs (1 for the theatrical cut and one for the extended cut).
The set comes with a slew of special features including an in depth commentary track and also a digital redemption code for the movie. This is 110% with picking up if you don’t own it already.

Let’s face it: this movie came out about 15 years too late and doesn’t quite measure up to the quality of the first film. It has a few likable elements, mostly coming from the performance of Dan Akroyd.
If you’re a fan of the first movie, this is worth watching. But if you have extremely high expectations, it may leave you a bit underwhelmed. The set itself is pretty barebones and doesn’t offer a whole lot in terms of special features. But it’s pretty good for the price.

Superman Red Son is one of the most beloved comic storylines for Superman fans as an “elseworlds” tale that complete subverts how we’ve all known Superman and look at him as an icon of Americana.
This animated film adapts and celebrates all the best components of the book and doesn’t change things for the sake of changing them like adding more action sequences or things like that. It’s loyal to the source material while providing a great new way for fans of the original comic to get something new out of the story without tarnishing what they love about it.
This set also comes with a free digital redemption code and several special features including a new animated short of the Phantom Stranger and a behind the scenes look at the next upcoming animated movie Justice League Dark Apocalypse War.

A Decent Second Season

This series has had some rough spots throughout these first 2 seasons. While the costumes and characters are all great, the fundamental flaw lies in the storytelling. Titans Season 2 suffers from ADD where you’ll feel like you’re ping ponging mindlessly from plot point to plot point, often with no explanation. The other issue is conflicts being resolved WAY too quickly, and this is painfully evident in the season finale episode.
If you’re a fan of these characters, I would say it’s a set worth picking up, but I can’t help but say you’ll likely be disappointed with where the season ends. I’d also say if you don’t binge watch the season, it could be difficult to follow the sequence of events.
Lastly, there isn’t much in the way of special features like there was on the Season One set.
