After reading reviews about the clarity and performance of the Mini LED TVs, I've been wanting to get one to replace an outdated (8 yr old) TV. This Hisense TV is a great bargain without needing to spend $2-3K.
You do need two people to unbox and get the TV setup. Since we were going to sit it on the table, we attached the legs (it is also setup to mount on the wall). You have the option of putting the legs closer together (in case your table isn't wide enough for the legs being put closer to the edge of the TV). I thought that was a nice option for people upgrading from smaller TVs that may have tables sized for the smaller TV.
Setting up the TV took longer than I expected. From the time we powered it on to the time it was usable was about 30-35 minutes. The reason for this was the multiple downloads and installs you need to do get the TV up to date. This isn't a big deal since it is a one time process and you don't have to actively do anything while it is downloading and installing the updates.
On to the important stuff...the picture quality. WOW! Watching 4K content on this TV is incredible. I have the 4K add-on for YoutubeTV and watched a few nature episodes filmed in 4K. Incredible clarity! We are sitting about 7 feet from the TV which allows you to see image in outstanding detail. A+ for the picture at the price point of this TV.
The big challenge with 4K is the availability of content. I'm expecting UHD content to be more and more prevalent over the next few years. At this point, many of your big sporting events are filmed or upscaled to 4K and there is 4K content from various providers (YoutubeTV and Netflix for example); however, the majority of what you watch will still be in HD (1080 or 720). This TV does a great job with that content as well.
For those that are sports enthusiasts, this TV has all 60Hz inputs. For fast motion, 120Hz is better but you also have to bump up in price to get it. For the value, this set does a nice job with fast motion sports (ball being thrown, people running, etc.). You do see some shadowing on it while the TV tries to keep up with the motion, but I didn't feel that it detracted from the viewing experience.
Overall, this is a great TV for the price point and I would recommend it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've been using these sleep earbuds for about a week now and overall I like them, but there are some opportunities for improvements. Lets cover some of the positives first.
When you open the box, you'll see some odd shaped silicon earbud cap options. They are rather long to fit inside your ear better and to keep them in place while you sleep. They look similar to form fitted earplugs you may get at work in a factory. You find the size that fits your ear the best...this may take some trial and error until you find the right one.
After getting the right size cover put on, pairing with a phone was simple and similar to pairing any other Bluetooth earphones. When I first tried them on, running water sounds were playing. It was a calming sound, but I usually go to sleep to music so you can set that up as well.
One of my concerns with Bluetooth headsets for sleep was the comfort. I tend to sleep on my side a lot and if the earbud would put pressure on the ear, they probably wouldn't work. This was not an issue. The earbuds were comfortable laying on my side or my back. Another concern was whether they would stay in my ear with my turning from side to side. Another non-issue since they stayed in place throughout the night. The last concern I had was the battery making it through the night. This also was not an issue as the buds were still working in the morning when I got up.
You can use these buds during the day as well, but you may need to swap out the silicon caps to ones that are more comfortable for walking or running. I haven't been using them for anything but sleep since I want to make sure they are charged in the evening before bed time.
The one challenge with these (and many other earbuds) are the tap controls you need to memorize to move to the next song or switch from water sounds to Bluetooth, etc. I haven't had a set of earbuds that did this well and these fall in that camp as well. Two taps on the right bud to do something and then three on the left. Just too complicated, especially when you have to wake up to change something. I'm not saying I have a better idea on solving this, but it isn't the most straight-forward process.
Overall, I really like these sleep earbuds and would recommend them for sleeping.

The ThermPro TempSpike is a really nice meat thermometer, though there are things that could be better. I've been using Bluetooth thermometers for the past 5 years with my smoker. This one is much easier to use since the Bluetooth radio is built into the probe instead of connecting it via a cable. Not having cables sticking out of your smoker, grill, or oven makes it so much easier.
One minor issue I had was that the probes and booster (base) came very low on battery charge. Not a big deal, but if you bought it to use right away, that wasn't going to happen. Not sure if that is how they ship all of them or mine just drained prior to me using it. Like I said, not a big deal.
First thing you need to do is download the app for iPhone or Android. I have an Apple device so I will be reviewing the iOS version. Pairing the device to the phone worked right away...just open the app (ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone) and press the S button on the booster. In the app, click the Add Device and select your product name. That's it...no issues. The instructions say that the probes are paired with the booster at the factory, but they do tell you how to re-do it if you have any issues there. Mine were already paired when I got it.
When you are ready to use it.you select the type of meat you are cooking in the app (do that for each probe) or set a custom temperature you want to get to. In the app, you can select whether you want the alarm to sound and if you want vibration alerts as well. Each probe also tracks the ambient temperature, so you can select a low or high ambient temp you want it to alarm on.
Insert the probe past the notch into the meat. This was one of the lessons learned I had. I pushed the probe past the notch as indicated, but not far enough. When the meat started to shrink back a little, the notch was exposed and the temperature alarmed way too early. I guessed the issue and pushed it further into the meat and the temp went back down to the internal meat temp.
I frequently smoke multiple cuts of meat at a time, which is where the first opportunity for improvement comes in. This device is limited to the two probes (one white and one black). It would be nice to get a version with 4-6 probes like many of the Bluetooth thermometers available.
Overall, I really like this product and look forward to using it again. It was easy to setup and straight-forward to use. I would recommend this for anyone that wants to track temperatures while cooking.

I received the Ninja XL coffee maker about a week ago and overall we love it. My wife is a big coffee drinker and usually has about 3-4 cups a day so this gets a good workout.
The Ninja XL is really a breeze to get started. You fill the tank with enough water for the amount of coffee you plan to make, select the amount you are making, press Classic or Rich (stronger tasting coffee), and off it goes. When Classic is selected, the coffee comes out pretty quickly. The coffee takes a little longer in Rich mode.
The iced coffee was relatively easy to make. We filled the carafe with ice and selected Classic style for the brew type and let it run. Very straight-forward. If you are making just one cup, there is pull out stand to pour directly into a cup or mug also.
One nice feature that we really liked was the ability to stop the flow at any time. Our previous coffee maker would stop when you pulled out the carafe, but some extra would always drip on the heating tray. With the slide stop on the Ninja, no coffee drips on the heating tray...much better for keeping it clean.
One of the challenges with this coffee maker is that the it doesn't go by standard cups, and instead uses custom sizes. For example, a "Small Cup" is 8.5 oz, "Cup" is 9.5 oz, "Travel Mug" is 14 oz, etc. However, the machine shows ounces so you have to either memorize the conversion to standard cups or keep the instruction manual close by at the beginning. You get used to your normal amount pretty quickly, but need to look back at the manual when you have company for a large batch.
Overall, we really love this coffee machine. There are additional features that our old maker didn't have, so more experimenting over the next couple of weeks. I would highly recommend this coffee maker.

I've been wanting to get a pressure washer to help with little chores around the house, like washing the car. This Greenworks pressure washer is easy to use and does a great job of foaming up the car and rinsing it clean afterwards.
The box includes the pressure washer base, a wand to connect foam bottle and rinse nozzle, a couple nozzle adapters for various pressure streams, and a circular concrete cleaner. Getting things together is pretty straight forward, though I did have to watch a video to make sure I was putting the attachments correctly on the wand. When I first tried attaching the spray nozzle onto the wand, it wouldn't twist (the nozzle has an insert and twist connector). I didn't want to break it by twisting too hard, so I had to do a quick web search to see a video to make sure I was doing it right. What I found it that you need to put some pressure to push it in before you twist it. Once I did that, it connected without a problem.
When using it to clean your car, first add car soap to the bottle and connect it to the water source. The foam started coming out right away, but it took a full minute before the foam was thick. Not sure if that is normal but it worked fine for me even with the foam not being as thick initially. Once the car is all foamed up, disconnect the bottle and connect the nozzle adapter with the correct tip to avoid using too strong of a jet on the paint. No idea if it will strip the paint and I wasn't going to try it.
There were a couple of rough areas that I needed to use the nozzle pretty close to the vehicle since the dirt/bugs were on pretty thick. The washer did a good job of getting most of it off, with only a couple of locations that I needed extra care with a cloth.
I don't have any discolored concrete or moldy deck to use the circular attachment...bummer. I really wanted to try that out to see if it is easier than using the wand.
Overall, I am really happy with the Greenworks Pressure washer. It worked well and is easy to use and move around. I would highly recommend this for washing the car or easy cleaning of outdoor walls and floors.

I've been reviewing products for years now and this is one of the toughest products I've reviewed. With most skincare products, you need to use it for more than a week to really see a difference and this product is no different. I've been using it regularly for about a week and haven't seen any noticeable results but that should be expected as most products take 6-12 weeks of continuous use to see results.
That being said, this product does have some features that I think work well. For example, the facial massage does relax you. At first, I didn't believe that it was that relaxing, but I nearly fell asleep after the nine minute light and massage therapy. I now use it right before I go to sleep to help relax me.
The light therapy uses red, blue, and infrared LEDs to help firm up the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The nine minute daily routine cycles through the three types of lights, while also providing the facial massage.
It is easy to use and comes with a USB-C charger and stand. It does look a little like a cross between a Michael Myers hockey mask and Groot, so maybe it can double as a Halloween mask. :)
There is an option to just use the vibration massage without the lights, since it is recommended to only use the LEDs daily, so you can still get a massage without the lights. There is also an eye shield that can be removed if you plan to use it with your eyes closed. I personally wouldn't recommend taking the shield off unless you are closing your eyes.
The one challenge I've had is that the head straps could use a little longer strip of velcro. I didn't think I had that small of a head but I am tightening it right to end of the velcro.
Overall, I will continue to use it daily for the next 5-10 weeks to see if there is a difference in my skin texture and minor wrinkles. I do like the vibration massage feature and will continue to use that before bedtime. That being said, I have a hard time recommending this product without seeing changes in my skin tone in the one week I've used it. If you read the science articles about LED lights, this is supposed to work and is recommended by the FDA, so maybe it is just a matter of time before it works...and it is an expensive item to go on faith that it will eventually work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Meet the new Shark Detect Pro Cordless Stick Vacuum. Its ultra-intelligent detect suite gives you 4 deep-cleaning technologies that detect & react to their surroundings. DirtDetect senses the hidden dirt that hides in your home, and automatically boosts power to pull it in. EdgeDetect senses edges and corners and doubles suction* power for more powerful cleaning* (vs. ECO mode). FloorDetect senses carpets and hard floors around your home, and optimizes your vacuum’s performance based on the floor type. Lastly, LightDetect automatically illuminates dark spaces, so you can easily track down hidden dirt. All four of these technologies combine in the Shark Detect Pro to give you up to 50% better* dirt pickup (*Based on ASTMF608, eco vs. boost). Never swap nozzles with the QuadClean Multi-Surface brush roll that tackles four cleaning targets: fine dust, pet hair, large debris, and dust along edges. For incredible maneuverability, Detect Pro gives you full-sized* cordless power, in a 30% lighter** frame (*vs. IZ862H, **Based on ASTMF608, vs IZ540H). Change the way you clean with the new Shark Detect Pro Cordless Stick Vacuum.

I got this Shark cordless vacuum to replace a corded vacuum and was happily surprised by the features and length of time the charge lasted. The vacuum has a sensor to identify when there is more dirt on the floor and automatically turns up the suction.
We have a two story and although lugging the corded vacuum wasn't a big deal, this one is much more convenient to use. You don't have to continually unplug and move the cord to a new location when you switch rooms. That alone saves time on the overall cleaning regimen. I was able to vacuum the entire house without running out of charge also, so 30-40 minutes shouldn't be a problem.
I've owned a couple of cordless vacuums over the years and most of them lack the suction of a corded vacuum. Although that is true of this one also, the difference isn't as big as my previous vacuums have been. Add on the extra suction when extra dirt is detected and this one performs well against it's corded competition.
Another nice feature I wasn't sure I would like was the handle. This handle is more akin to a cordless drill than a typical vacuum cleaner. I quickly got used to it and actually like this better than the alternative...maybe because I am much more familiar with a drill than a vacuum cleaner (at least that is what my wife would say).
As with most stick vacuums, there is an option to use a shorter attachment to clean in tight places. One thing this one doesn't have is a brush attachment. I don't use it frequently but that would come in handy cleaning in your car or the sofa.
Overall, I really like this cordless vacuum and would recommend it. Probably won't get your really deep down dirt, but for normal day to day use, it does the job well.

I got these Sony headphones about a week ago and have been testing them since then. I primarily got these since I had lost my previous workout headphones. I usually don’t get the earbuds since they tend to fall out when I workout, but thought I would give them a try.
My previous headphones had an ear loop to ensure they stayed in place while working out. Despite these being earbuds, they stayed in place very well, though I did have to push them back in from time to time…usually after doing fast motions like jumping. The buds come with multiple silicone tip sizes so I tested out multiple sizes until I found one that was comfortable and stayed in place pretty well.
What I was really impressed with for these earbuds was the noise canceling. I really wasn’t expecting them to work as well as it did. The first time I tried the earbuds was while watching tv in the background. I had forgotten about the active noise canceling (ANC) until I put them in and couldn’t hear the tv any longer. Wow! Best noise canceling headphones I’ve ever used. I usually use over the ear ANC whenever I fly (which is just about every week) and these worked better than those high dollar headphones. I tested them on my last flight and was really impressed.
The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is that I could not get them to connect to the app (connected to phone without a problem). I tried multiple times, deleting then reloading the app, resetting the earbuds, restarting the phone, etc. I searched online for a solution and tried multiple ideas with nothing working. I kept getting an error that said “Cannot connect to YY2968. Check that the power of the device is on.” That was really the only downside to these headphones and they work fine without the app.
These Sony earbuds exceeded my expectations for comfort, ANC, and staying in place for most workouts. I recommend these earbuds highly, especially if I can figure out how to get the app to connect to the buds.

I have been using this robot vacuum/mopper for about 3 days now and I really like it. The robot is setup on the main floor of our condo and vacuums two bedrooms (carpet) and vaccums/mops the kitchen, family room and bathrooms (wood floors and LVT).
First, setup was fairly straight-forward, though I did have a challenge getting it connected via the app/wireless at the beginning. Not a big deal, but probably took about 15 minutes and multiple tries to get it setup. I'm comfortable with technology so it was just a nuisance and hasn't been a recurring issue.
Another area that isn't as easy as it should be is the app. As soon as I got it connected, there is a button to start the robot to allow it to map the house. That part went well and it was easy to start, stop, and return the robot home from the main page. What I couldn't find easily was setting up a schedule. It really should have been somewhere linked from the first page...instead, you click run, click the 3 dots at the top right, and select scheduling. I still have to search through the screens a couple times to remember where that is located.
Next, this does both mopping and vacuuming so you want to make sure you aren't spraying water on your carpets or rugs. That's easy to setup in the map area of the app. You can select areas you don't want the robot to go when you are mopping by blocking that area off. You can also block off areas that you don't want it to go when vacuuming. I really like this feature since I can't count the number of times my old robot would get stuck under a piece of furniture, behind the sofa or get stuck on a thick rug. The map is my favorite feature in the app since you can see exactly where the robot cleaned and how many square feet it cleaned.
When mopping, you just add water to the reservoir and send it on it's way. There are settings in the app to say how much water or suction to use, but I just kept the default settings for now and it worked perfectly.
The one other challenge that I had was determining how to change it from mopping to vacuuming. I had trouble trying to figure out how to get it out of mopping mode. You have to remove the mop pad in order switch to vacuum mode. As a result, you can't do both mopping and vacuuming without someone being there to switch back and forth. Not a big deal if you are home, but can't setup schedules to do both without someone making that switch on the robot.
At the end of a run, it auto empties the robot. You still need to empty the reservoir after mopping and clean the dust bin on the robot from time to time, but having it auto-empty into the base takes away most of the cleanup.
Overall, despite a few minor issues, I really like this robot. The option of mopping and vacuuming is a big plus as well. I would recommend this one for doing both.

When the Oura Rings first came out, I was really interested in getting one. I've been using health tracking wearables for over 14 years now and have been using a health watch since 2014. However, I really don't like wearing jewelry (or watches...I haven't worn my wedding band in over 20 years), so I was interested in seeing if I could put up with a fitness ring.
First, and probably most important, take Oura's recommendation of wearing the sizing ring for a couple of days to make sure you get the right size. I didn't wear it continuously and I got the wrong size ring for my index finger. Not a big deal since it fits correctly on my other hand. When I tried the sizer ring, it felt like the correct size but if I would have worn it longer I think I would have gone down a size.
Once you get your Oura, the first thing I did was download the app for my iPhone. Pretty straight-forward and connecting the ring to the phone was quick as well. Instructions provided were self-explanatory, but I never had to use them since I've connected dozens of things to my phone in the past and it wasn't any different.
First thoughts when wearing the ring is that it is really big! I mean, I don't like wearing my wedding band because it annoys me and it isn't as big as the Oura. I really had concerns whether I would use it long term since it was so big.
The next thing I noticed is that the band isn't completely round...one side is flattened a little which helps identify the side that needs to stay on the palm side of your finger (where the sensors are). If you get one size too large, the ring will keep spinning on your finger and the sensors won't be aligned correctly. I had this problem initially until I switched to the other hand where the ring fits correctly. It still spins a little but not too bad and it's easy to figure out the correct way to place it with the flat side out.
The ring comes with a free month of service and it costs $5.99 per month if you choose to subscribe. Per the Oura site, if you don't extend the trial period you still "have access to 3 simple daily scores: Sleep, Readiness, and Activity, as well as interactive and educational Explore content." I haven't seen what I would have access to if I don't extend, so can't really comment much on that.
The app is intuitive to use, even with a lot of content. There are 5 content areas: Home, Readiness, Sleep, Activity, and Explore that you can navigate with at the bottom. I would rate the app as a 5 since it is easy to get around and quickly find what you are looking for.
The three areas I found most useful are the Readiness, Sleep, and Activity scores. Essentially, those three numbers give you an idea of where you need to focus. My activity scores are always in Optimal zone, but my sleep score hasn't hit that level yet. Readiness tells you whether you are ready for another workout or whether you should take it a little easier. It seems like the algorithm takes a few days to understand what your typical day is to determine what is optimal for you.
Overall, I rated this four stars since I think they did a great job of identifying the features that are important to track from a health perspective. What I don't like about it is that it is still pretty big and you will notice it on your finger. Since I do not like wearing jewelry, I knew this was going to be a problem for me but I will keep wearing it for the foreseeable future (it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be). Before signing up for the service, I plan to see what comes for free and make my decision after that.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will this work on a metal security screen door?

I doubt it. All the screen doors I have seen are too thin to allow for the mechanism to sit inside the door.

NETGEAR - RangeMax N600 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router - Black
Choose this NETGEAR router and receive high level wireless security, the ability to share photos, music and more, and a way to keep track of your kids’ activity online. Plus, with easy installation for tablets, smartphones and computers, you’ll be able to start enjoying Wi-Fi throughout your home right away.

Is it possible to have a separate modem for gaming on a PS4 system, than the modem that I already have set up for the rest of the household? I have satellite Internet service, and unfortunately there is considerable lag.

If you mean setting up a separate cable modem, my guess is you would have to pay for a separate incoming service for that modem. Your bandwidth issues are probably due to the satellite connection limitations.

If you mean setting up a separate router (for wifi or ethernet connection), you can do it, but you would still be limited by the incoming satellite connection.

Hope this helps.

Fitbit - Charge HR Heart Rate and Activity Tracker + Sleep Wristband (Large) - Black
Fitbit - Charge HR Heart Rate and Activity Tracker + Sleep Wristband (Large) - Black
Fitbit Charge HR Wireless Heart Rate + Activity Wristband: This heart rate and activity tracking wristband is built to capture your movements and health patterns all day long. Easily monitor your heart rate so you can maximize your workouts, learn about your sleep quality and monitor progress on your goals.

Can two different persons use the same fitbit charge HR?

Multiple people can wear it, but you wouldn't be able to separate the data unless you setup the device every time you switch users. That would seem to be quite a lot of overhead and probably isn't an option for the long term.

I would say you need one device per person to make it usable.
