Would an older Hero housing & batteries work with the 8?

The HERO8 Black is a slightly different size than previous HERO models, so older housings won't work with it, though nearly all mounts will work. Also, the battery for the HERO8 is a little different, so you will want to use only HERO8 batteries in the HERO8 Black.

Will this camera connect to PC and serve as a webcam as well? Don't see such a connection under 'connectivity'.

It's possible, but you would need to use the Media Mod and a separate capture device to feed the signal into your computer.

You could use the HERO8 Black as a webcam, but you would need to use the Media Mod and a separate capture device to stream it through your computer. For live streaming, you can send the feed from your GoPro through your smartphone and a hotspot to channels like Facebook, YouTube (note that YouTube requires at least 1,000 subscribers in order to live stream), and other platforms.

Can this be used when doing a WebEx from a computer?

It can be done, but you would need to use an HDMI cable and a separate device like a video capture card that would allow for your computer to process the HDMI signal coming from the GoPro.

We have a detailed step-by-step guide with screenshots and additional tips on the GoPro website, but here are the key steps you'll want to follow.

1. Open the GoPro app and tap on the camera icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
2. Now tap on the blue button in the center of the screen: Control Your GoPro. This starts Preview.
3. Scroll through the icons on the bottom of the screen, and tap on Live.
4. That icon is now a blue button that says Set Up Live. Underneath it you should see Facebook is listed to let you know which platform you’ll be streaming on.
5. Now tap on Set Up Live.
6. Allow permissions and connect your Facebook account.
