The battery door broke off while I was lifting it up to put the battery back in. I didn't hear a snap, and just thought that it came off the hinge at first. This happened today, my exchange period lapsed yesterday! What do I need to do?

The battery door on the HERO10 Black is removable. It's designed that way so the HERO10 can be used with accessories like the Media Mod. You should see a slot in the hinge part of the door. Line that up with the metal bar on the HERO10 and it should snap back on.

Does this come with a protective case

The HERO8 Black does not come with a separate protective housing, but for most activities, a separate housing is not needed. On its own, the HERO8 Black is waterproof down to 33 feet. If you want to go deeper than that, there is a protective housing available separately.

I live in Europe but want to buy a Go Pro while I’m in the US. Will it entail any potential consequences in the future that I haven’t bought the Go Pro in my home country? Or is there a form of international insurance?

GoPro cameras use a safety technique called chaptering, which breaks longer video recordings into smaller files that can be joined together in editing to make a single shot. That way, if there is an issue with the recording, you wouldn't lose all of the footage you shot. With the HERO9 Black, chapters are set up approximately every 4GB of data. Depending on the settings you're using, that means new chapters will be made every 5 to 8 minutes. The total length of a video depends on the size of your SD card and the settings you choose. For example, with a 128GB card you should be able to record for nearly four hours or more in most settings.

The HERO9 Black and the HERO10 Black use a specialized rechargeable battery developed by GoPro specifically for these cameras. There is not a standard or stock battery, or a non-rechargeable battery that will work with these cameras.

Yes, the HERO9 Black is waterproof on its own down to 33 feet. If you plan to go deeper than that, there is a separate protective housing that you can use with the HERO9 Black that allows it to go down to 196 feet.

Will this work for me if I’m looking to use it for action videos? For example: recording horses running? Does it stay in focus well when moving it and when on a tripod?

What is the battery life for this model

Battery life depends on the settings you choose for your recordings. Higher resolutions and higher frame rates typically require more power than lower frame rates and resolutions. For example, at 2.7k and 120 fps you can get about 45 minutes of recording time. At 1080p and 60 fps though you can get about 80 minutes of recording time on a single charge.
