Is this hero 8 waterproof proof model a new model or the same as the previous hero 8 waterproof?

All HERO8 Black cameras are the same version. It is waterproof on its own down to 33 feet.

The HERO10 Black does have improved low light performance. The GoPro does not include a flash, but additional lights like the GoPro Light Mod.

Yes, this mount can be used underwater. If you use it in salt water, you'll want to rinse it with fresh water once you're done for the day.

I have the GoPro drone and it has been discontinued; would this camera fit in the harness? The drone currently comes with the Hero4 or 5 I believe

The HERO8 Black will not work with the Karma drone.

Can I hook up an external microphone to the camera?

You can connect external mics to the HERO8 Black, but you will need an adapter. You can use either the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter or the Media Mod for the HERO8.

I have a gopro 10 and I want to make YouTube videos but YouTube doesn't do hvec videos. Can I change a setting on my gopro? Thanks

If you shoot video on your GoPro that uses HEVC and want to play it on a device or upload it to a platform that doesn't support that format, you can convert videos to other formats using the free Handbrake app. We have instructions on the GoPro website for how to do that. In regards to YouTube though, I do believe YouTube now accepts uploads in the HEVC (h265) format.

Yes. There are a couple of ways to get the videos onto your laptop from the GoPro. Many people transfer the content directly from the SD card you use in the camera by connecting the card to the laptop through a USB port with an adapter.

Is it just the camera? Or does it come with any kind of attachment

The HERO8 Black does come with an adhesive mount as well as a quick release buckle that can be use to connect to other mounts that are not included.
