What do you attach the GoPro to?

The HERO8 Black has mounting fingers that pull out from the bottom of the camera. Those fingers can then connect to nearly every GoPro mount that's made.

Can the camera be operated remotely from the iphone app? i.e. start/stop record, and take still shots. Also can you veiw the image on the phone?

Yes, once you've paired the GoPro to your phone using the GoPro app, you can adjust the settings you want to use, start and stop recordings and take photos, and review the videos and photos you've shot directly from your phone.

To use a GoPro as a webcam for platforms like Zoom, the best option currently is to use a GoPro that has a micro-HDMI port. The MAX does not have that port, but the HERO8 Black and several other HERO models can support this type of connection. can it stream wired at 1080p 60fps?

It should be possible. You'd want to use the Media Mod, an HDMI-to-USB converter, and the corresponding cables. For the HDMI-to-USB converter, we recommend Magewell or Elgato Cam Link 4k because they enable streaming at 1080p 60fps and offer offers low-latency, meaning minimal delay in the live video that’s being transmitted. Note though that not all streaming platforms support 60fps, so you'll want to confirm that your platform can support that frame rate.

The MAX can stream to Twitch, YouTube (if you meet their requirements), and to Facebook. For Zoom, the better option would be to use the HERO8 Black.

how long does the battery last on 8 black

Battery life depends on the settings you select - higher frame rates and higher resolutions use more power than lower ones. Depending on what you select, you should get between about 45 minutes (higher settings) and about 80 minutes (lower settings) on a full charge.

Can the GoPro HERO7 be connected to a MacBook Pro via USB as the camera input for a Zoom conference and record to SD card at the same time?
