Is there a "better" woofer that is compatible with the HW-B550? I'd like to extend the mid- and lower-end frequency response and sensitivity; I already have the optional rear speakers and like them. Thanks, Paul S.

Can the mount be used to mount the sound bar above the television?

Hi AC,

Using the fixed wall mount that the Soundbar comes with, you can mount it above the television, but it is not recommended. You will want to have the Soundbar placed in such a way that it projects the audio at near eye level so you will be able to clearly enjoy audio from your content.

Can the Q990C be used in a multi-room system? Play the same music on speakers on the same network in different rooms?

I recently purchased HW-Q990C sound bar w/ 85" QN-900C 8K TV. It worked great initially. But now, the surround speakers have a clicking/popping sound when in use. Also, the audio from the surround speakers is very low volume. Any known issues/fixes?

Hi Ebbcity,

There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.

First update the software of your Soundbar. There are two different ways you can accomplish this, either by downloading the update on to a USB thumb drive or using the SmartThings app to set the Soundbar to automatically keep itself updated.

You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-Q990C under Q Series.

Alternatively, download SmartThings to your smart device, it is compatible with both iOS and Android. Setup your Soundbar to Wi-Fi using SmartThings and then press the three dots in the top right corner, then information and from here you can set the Soundbar to automatically update or manually search for an update.

Next, try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.

If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

Would there be any issue if the rear surround speakers are wall mounted about 8ft high? vs at sitting head level? Reason I am looking to mount them high, is because of a window on side and I want to keep them aligned at same height with each other

Keep in mind that the rear speakers do have top-firing Dolby Atmos speakers that will bounce off the ceiling and then back down to you. Make sure that the tops of the rear speakers are not too close to the ceiling.

Does this watch or any other Samsung model watch have the ability to make phone calls on its own. Does it have a SIM or a eSim so that is is a separate free standing phone or must you always have your rsmartphone nearby
