Why is Q990b not able to connect to the new apple tv 4k via bluetooth?

The HW-Q990B Soundbar will be able to connect to a smart device via Bluetooth, or an iOS device using AirPlay. For your Apple 4K TV device you will need to connect to a 4K TV using an HDMI cable, and then connect the HW-Q990B Soundbar to the TV itself using the TV ARC/eARC port using a HDMI cable.

I bought a wireless soundbar, but the optical cable has to be connected from the soundbar to the back of the tv, even though it's using wifi. Do you have to plug this into the tv or can it be plugged into the wall across the other side of the room?

You will not be required to connect any cables from the HW-S60B Soundbar to a compatible Samsung TV when using Wi-Fi. Follow the steps below on how to set this feature up.

Pre-connection Checklist
• Wi-Fi connection is available only on Samsung TV.
• Check whether the wireless router (Wi-Fi) is turned on and the TV is connected to the router.
• The TV and Soundbar must be connected to the same wireless network (Wi-Fi).

Change the input source of the TV by using the Audio menu to Soundbar.
• Samsung TVs released in 2017 or later
Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Sound > Sound Output > [AV] Samsung Soundbar S60B

You are also able to use the SmartThings app to connect both your TV and Soundbar to the same Wi-Fi network and pair them together.

Hi, I have an older TV with standard HDMI ports, not HDMI-arc and no optical port. Will this work? I have tried another brand with HDMI-arc and it did not work for me.

The HW-B650 Soundbar will be able to connect using HDMI, but you will need to use the remote from your soundbar instead of only using the TV remote to control both.
