Which connection gives better sound hdmi arc or optical? I tried to use both at the same time to see the difference , but it didn't work.

Hi Murat! HDMI ARC is the best connection for both audio quality and device control. Using HDMI allows the TV remote to quickly change the volume of the soundbar, as well as provides a wider range of audio formats and surround sound support when connected to the TV. ^Tim

This has a subwoofer, front speaker bar and two rear speakers but it says its 2.1 channel. So the rear speakers are not on their own channels for 4.1? For most systems the rear speakers have their own rear channel so you have the spacial effect. Thanks

Hi upsnowman! The HW-T450 does not include the rear speakers, just the soundbar and the subwoofer providing a 2.1ch solution. The SWA-8500s is a rear speaker kit sold separate that pairs with the soundbar to provide full surround sound. Connected this through optical cord and it consistently drops sound when watching 4K/BluRays/DVDs or 4K/Dolby Vision content at any volume. Why is this happening? “DJIN” displays on front of equipment and I have Optical selected for Audio on TV.

Every once in a while the sound bar makes a kind of "chirping" sound that is very annoying. This happens in the middle of a show. The audio also cuts out every so often. The firmware is up to date.

Does my TV have to have Earc to get DTS-X?

Hi Cam! eARC allows for uncompressed audio signals to pass from a TV to a soundbar, without eARC, you cannot achieve lossless DTS-X or Dolby Atmos. If the TV does not support eARC, I suggest connecting the device direct to the soundbar, then using HDMI passthrough to connect to the TV to achieve optimal audio quality. ^Tim

My 7 series TV keeps disconnecting from Wifi. I have to reboot and enter my wifi information every day.
