Another audio out question

So, it can send audio out through digital audio out, but can it do HDMI audio out? My current amplifier has only one digital audio input, which I'm currently using for something else, but I have multiple free HDMI inputs I could use.

Right now, I run all my sources into my amp, then the video up to my TV. This works great, unless I'm using the TV as the original source. If I'm going to use all the cool features of this TV (like using it to pull Netflix) but want better sound, I need to be able to get the sound down to my amp.
This model supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) with HDMI, but your receiver would also need to be HDMI-ARC compliant.

Does the TV contain a ZOOM function?

TV pictures with black bars at the top and bottom of the screen just turn me off. With the zoom function on my HDTVs now, I am happy to sacrifice a little clarity to have a full screen picture.
Sally,

Yes, you can adjust the picture size and aspect.

Additional Hookups

I currently have a 42" Samsung after 9 yrs the color is starting to go. My question is ; I have my dvd, my stereo receiver for surround sound and a WII connected with multiple audio/video cables connected to the back of the tv. Will this PN515300AFXZA accommodate my needs?
jarck51,

It depends which devices are connected, and how they're connected. After 9 years, the jackpack has changed considerably.

There is one shared component or composite input, so one of your devices will need to be (become, or replaced by) an HDMI device.

Your stereo receiver will probably connect through the audio output.
Your Wii - OR - DVD will work, since there is a shared component/composite input.

The Wii is probably composite (Yellow AV + Red/White), so your DVD may be the 'leftover device'.

If neither your Wii or DVD will support HDMI, plug in the Wii. You may want to consider upgrading to an inexpensive Blu-Ray player (which supports Blu-Ray discs, DVD discs and CD Audio) that you can connect with HDMI.

All of the recent Samsung players have HDMI, and may solve your dilemma if you go that route.
