Sonos power cables are designed to work with Sonos products. In general, using a cable that is provided by the manufacturer of the product is the best solution.

Is it okay to leave on the charging ring most of the time? Would like yo use it as an extra speaker

The Move is designed to sit on the charging ring for extended periods of time. The Move should be part of your Sonos system in your home and we understand that means it will be stationary while still giving you the option to move it around your home and beyond!

Can I connect this to a CD player and then to Sonos move speaker?

As long as the CD player has the proper outputs you can connect it to the Amp. Then, in the Sonos app, group that Amp with your Move to hear your CDs anywhere throughout your home!

I am looking to get this speaker but I currently do not use my tv would I be able to still use it? I tend to use my monitor to cast what ever I watch. Thanks

The Beam can absolutely be used as a stand alone speaker without a television connected.

If you are wanting to use the Beam for sound with the content you are playing on your monitor, the monitor (or the source connected to it) would need a HDMI ARC or digital optical output that would be plugged in to the Beam.

Sonos website recommends using the ARC HDMI for audio and they said all new TVs should have that ability, but the playbar does NOT have that capability. WHY is the logical question and are they going to provide a fix for this?

Sonos recommends using ARC HDMI for the Beam and Amp as these products released recently and were able to include HDMI ARC hardware and functionality. Unfortunately, the Playbar does not have an HDMI port and requires the use of digital optical to feed the signal from the source to the Playbar.

Is this a good option for front L&R and surround if you don’t have Sonos sub or center (sound bar)? If not can I just add a center and not a sub?

These are primarily designed for music. For Home Theater we recommend you look at the Sonos Beam instead.
