I thought this came with windows 10 but I can not find an activation code. Do I need to purchase a separate license?

No. The factory install of Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating system does not need an activation code for the initial activation of Windows 10. Just turn on the computer and follow the audio/on-screen setup and activation instructions.
