Hey, Wisco. As a disclaimer, the Legion T5i was tested using a max memory of 32GB, but you should be able to add up to 64GB DDR5 in its four memory slots.

Of the 8 GB RAM installed, Windows says only 5.57 GB is usable. More than 4.5 GB of that is in use at idle, with lots of pre-installed software removed. Why is so much unusable and what setting(s) can be adjusted to improve the usable amount?

Hey, Cpm0813. With the amount of memory being used, it could be reserved for your integrated graphics to use. This can be adjusted in the system BIOS. If it isn't adjusted by system updates, you may have to change the virtual memory reserved. Based on what's shared on this HP webpage (https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index) your printer supports ChromeOS devices so it should work with new Chromebooks, but to clarify this device is an IdeaPad running Windows 11 Home in S mode as its operating system and is not a Chromebook.
