This model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the Lenovo Manufacturer's Warranty. This would include upgrading RAM and/or switching hard drives on this model, regarding the Lenovo Manufacturer's Warranty.

That really depends on the requirements of the software programs the student will be using. We recommend you check with the school's web site for the college of Architecture for their recommendations for a computer configuration. I have a laptop that is about 7-8 years old. I just purchased the Lenovo 330 system. I do my banking, save photos, a little word documents and a few spreadsheets, online shopping, etc. will this system have enough memory & speed for me.?
This is an entry level, light use system with its AMD E2 processor. It is not meant for multi-tasking or demanding programs. It is good for light work with Microsoft Office type programs and light internet browsing. If this describes your computing needs, the IdeaCentre 330-20 All-In-One system would be a good choice.

Seems like a good computer until you exclude the basic CD Drive and a small hard drive making it basically a disposable computer for the basic user looking for a quality computer and have to spend more money on an external backup drive that. Sucks!
This system has a 256GB solid state hard drive. You can use an external CD/DVD drive if you need one, by just plugging in to one of the two standard USB ports on the device.
