I am considering purchase to replace old desktop that just died. How does one get into the bios to get it to boot from dvd and USB stick as well as hard drive? Also anything to prohibit installing nonwin os?

i use a samsung chromebook 3 needing something a little more powerful for adobe lightroom photoshop and video editing will this do the trick and when i am at home hook it to my screen and key bored and use it with out issue

Is this laptop better than the Asus Q326FA-BI7T13? the Asus one has better ram but it still retails for 300 dollars less
