Actually, the 1080p upconversion feature and the HD upconversion feature may be referring to the same feature. Since 1080p is considered HD, both of these terms actually mean the same thing.

Can this play MKV files from a flashdrive?

Since there is a USB port, can I connect my flashdrive and play a 4GB .mkv movie format (high definition movie)?

Yes, a USB memory flash drive can be connected to the USB port for MP3/JPEG/DivX/MKV and MP4 playback.

A USB device consuming more than 500mA also requires a separate power supply device for normal operation.

will this player region 0 dvd's,made for the United Kingdom

If you purchase the unit within the US, it will only have support for All Region and Region 1 DVDs ("All Region" DVDs refers to DVDs that are marked as region 0 or "Region All". This does not mean the player can play every regions’ DVDs).
