Will this player replace my samsung surround sound receiver.

I am looking for a product that is wifi smart and is blue ray capable but replaces my surround sound receiver. I have great working speakers and wireless in the back and do not want to buy any packages.

From the available information, the BD-C6500 is a stand alone Blu-Ray player and not a home theater receiver. That said, receivers for Home Theater Systems in a Box are not sold separately.

Is RCA Audio Out levels controled through the TV?

I am thinking about purchasing a soundbar for this TV and if I hook one up via the RCA cords will I be able to control the volum with my TV remote?

Since the RCA and optical audio outputs on this unit is a fixed pass through type of connection, you would need some sort of intermediary device to control the volume, since the TV does not have control of the volume coming out of the analogue and digital audio outputs.

Netflix capability

does this have Netflix capability? Meaning, can I upload movies from it or do I have to physical order the Netflix movies?

From the available information, none of the Samsung DVD players will offer Netflix connectivity. Only the select Samsung TVs and Blu-Ray players will offer Netflix connectivity.

WIFI Connection

I was able to connect for a short time to my wireless router but now my player won't connect. I have checked my settings and when I run the network test I get a error during the Gateway Ping test. I know the internet is working and so is my router since my wired computer and laptop are both working. Any suggestions?

Does this player convert 2D to 3D?

Although the BD-C6800 will allow you to view 3D Blu-Rays in 2D if your TV does not support 3D, it will not have the ability to convert 2D to 3D. This is actually a function that should be supported by your TV.

Does this tv have a built in headphone jack?

Unfortunately, headphone jacks are not available on this unit; however you can still connect headphones to this unit with a third party headphone device (either through RCA, 3.5mm jack or Optical). Since the audio outputs on this unit are a fixed pass through type of connection, you would need an intermediary device to control the volume, since the TV does not have control of the volume coming out of the analogue and digital audio outputs. Additionally, the Samsung TVs will not offer direct wireless connectivity to wireless capable headphones.
