will the blue ray work with a non-3d tv

Although the HW-C770BS is not a dedicated Blu-Ray player, it can pass through both a 2d and 3D video signal from a Blu-Ray player.

I record my own DVDs w/ multiply movies will it display each show as thumbnails?
also can I click propertys on the thumbnail to see how long the show is?

It depends on how the DVD is authored. Unfortunately, with so many options, it's difficult to determine if the software you use will provide the result you're looking for.

is there a reume play like if I turn it off then back on will it resume play where I left off

if I'm watching a movie then stop play is there a reume play?

If you power it off, it will most likely restart from the beginning. However, if you remember the chapter you were on, you can skip forward to that chapter.

Does Netflix stream in HD?

Although this is a question better asked to Netflix them selves, technically, the BD-C5500 should receive HD programing from their service. Please note, HD programing and subsequently the programming's overall quality, is subject to your internet speed. Higher speeds will allow for better quality programing.

I would like to buy a flat screen tv,but my entertainment center measures 38 inches? What size tv would fix?

From the available information, it seems that, although any of the 40" and smaller Samsung LED TVs should fit in your space, only the 37" and smaller Samsung LCD TVs will actually fit in your entertainment unit's available space.

can I use my samsungs TV (pn58c500) remote to play and fastforward w/ this DVD player?

As a matter of fact, you sh0ould be able to control the BD-C5500 Blu-Ray Player's functionality with the PN58C500's remote control as long as Anynet+ is activated on both devices, and the BD-C5500 is connected to the TV via HDMI.

Anynet+ is a function that operates through HDMI 1.3/1.4 jacks and lets you control up to twelve Samsung devices with your Samsung TV remote, with up to three of those devices being of the same type (for example, three DVD players). You can only use Anynet+ with Samsung devices that have the Anynet+ feature.

Are there any known issues with using a 50ft HDMI cable?

I'm using a 50ft HDMI and this DVD doesnt work.
Other DVD players on the same line do.

Do you have to have a TV with 3D capability to use this player

Although you will need a 3D TV in order to view 3D Blu-Ray content or any other type of 3D content, the BD-C6900 can act as a standard 2D Blu-Ray player as well. Again, the BD-C6900 will be able to play both 2D movies as well as 3D movies, but in order to view 3D content, you must have the BD-C6900 connected to a 3D TV.
