Can this play MKV files from a flashdrive?

Since there is a USB port, can I connect my flashdrive and play a 4GB .mkv movie format (high definition movie)?

Yes, a USB memory flash drive can be connected to the USB port for MP3/JPEG/DivX/MKV and MP4 playback.

A USB device consuming more than 500mA also requires a separate power supply device for normal operation.

Is this blu-ray player world-wide/auto voltage or 110/120V only?

The BD-C5500 was designed to run at 120v. only.

How long is the hdmi cable?

On the bottom of the Product Features list, it notes that an HDMI cable is not included. However, they are available for purchase at Best Buy.

Will this play DVDs of any region code?

I want to upgrade to a blu-ray player, but I have many DVDs that are different region codes. Is this blu-ray player region free?

The HT-C5500 will play Region A for Blu-Ray discs, and Region 1 for DVDs.

Some commercial discs and DVD discs purchased outside your region may not be playable with this product. When these discs are played, either "No Disc" or "Please check the regional code of the disc" will be displayed.
