This player supports "Open", "All" or "Region 1" for DVDs, or "Open", "All" and "Region A" for Blu-Ray discs. Other regions are designed to not work in this player, as the regions are set by the copyright holder or content owner.

If the tv I want to connect it to is not an HD tv can I still connect it using component cables or some other type of connection other than HDMI?

You can, provided the Blu-Ray player has a composite or component output.

With the BD-E5300, this model does not have composite or component outputs (only HDMI), so this would not be ideal for a SD (standard definition) television. Some Samsung 2012 Home Theater systems will have composite outputs, but this model of Blu-Ray player does not.

is the WIS12ABGN compatable with a UN55C6500VF?

or should I use the WIS09ABGN as stated in the users manual?

Either adapter, the 09 or the 12 will be compatible with the C6500.
