what cameras can take black and white pictures

There are a lot of cameras that have a creative feature of Black and White photo shooting. But on a lot of these once the photo is taken in B/W it cannot be changed back. It is still best to take the photo in color and use a program to convert to Black and White. Most cameras come with some software to do creative work on the downloaded images. Photoshop and Photoshop Elements are really good at this conversion and by using a program to convert you don't loose the original color version.

Which camcorders have mic inputs?

Im trying to find out all the camcorders that you guys sell that offer an input for an external mic.
Mic inputs was a feature that a lot of manufacturers were removing to keep cost of camcorders down. Slowly....they are starting to come back in.
Found mostly on the upper end of the consumer camcorders. The Sony HDR-XR500V being one of them: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...
The Canon HV30 being another : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...

JVC Everio GZM335

Is this camcorder compatible with imovie 08 on my mac.
It is an older camcorder and there might be some disconnect issues otherwise it should work fine. Check to make sure you have all updates installed from Apple.

transfer from computer to tv

If I buy a hard drive or flash camcorder, and the memory is full, I download to the computer. no problem. Once it's on the computer, how do I watch it on my TV?
With my mini dv camcorder I just switch out tapes when I want to watch older movies but with digital - do I have to transfer it back to the camera?
If your computer has a DvD Burner you could master a DvD and watch it that way. If not...and/or you have a stand alone DvD Burner you could connect to it with the camcorder and copy the footage to a disk.
If you have none of these than you might have to copy back to the camcorder for playback or just keep it on flash and replace them as needed.

Nikon D40 lcd screen

Is there any way to have the viewfinder show up on the LCD screen or is it only to review pictures you have already taken?
The feature is called Live View and unfortunately the Nikon D40 does not support that function.

Is there a cord that you can split live feed?

We are running an event in which we will need to be displaying video recorded earlier in the day through two high powered projectors. I was wondering if there is a cord you can use to split video feed to connect to the projectors, because both screens need to be displaying the same thing at once.
Splitting a video feed reduces the signal strength and may cause problems. Look into a Distribution Amplifier (DA). It is a small box that has 1 line in (audio and video) and usually 4 lines out (audio and video). It is designed to boost and split the signal.

Taking photos at an indoor concert

Need advice! Say you are in the 20th row of an indoor concert. The venue is dark, the performer is under colored lights. Could you give me a place to start as far as settings for my digital SLR. (f stop, shutter speed, etc.) I have tried different things, but the results just aren't excellent yet. Thanks!
Hmmmm.....Tricky. OK. First you need to set the ISO up to around 800. You'll have some noise, but we will address that in a little while.
Next set you Aperture to around ....f/11 or f/13. You need some depth. The temptation is to open the Aperture up big but that gives you a shallow depth of field. You should be using a 300mm zoom lens and that will give you the soft depth of field.
Set the White Balance to Artificial Light (Tungsten). Using Auto will mess up the colors.
Lastly...and this is the fun part....Set the Shutter as low as you can but not below 1/60. If the shot looks too dark...back off the Aperture to f/8 or a little larger until you get close to what you want. You might have to up the ISO to 1000. DON'T TRUST THE METER. Keep working with the Aperture numbers. Use you LCD Screen and shot until you like the shot.

As for noise in the photos look into Noise Ninja. It is a Photoshop plugin that greatly reduces noise in photos.

Are all AA batteries rechargeable?

My Polaroid Digital Camera uses 2 AA batteries - are there only certain types that are recharable?

Where is the best place to get a recharger?
Only rechargeable batteries can be recharged and require a special recharger that is designed for that battery type...NiCad...NiHM...Rechargeable Alkaline and Lithium. Rechargers usually come paired with batteries, a set of AA and AAA is common. Additional batteries can be bought separately.

WARNING: Not all AA batteries are rechargeable. Putting non-rechargeable batteries in a recharger can be VERY DANGERIOUS.

Stop by your nearest BestBuy. They have a great selection of rechargeable batteries and the Camera section will help you get the battery that will be best for your camera.
