what does it mean when the screen is white & power will not stay on?

It might be a power issue. Try changing to a different battery and see if it still does it. If it does still have the problem take it to your nearest Best Buy and have the Geek Squad take a look. They will advice you what can be done.

What if the camera turns off turns on but then turns off again

i drop my camera now it is turning on but then turns right off what do i do
Could be any number of things. Sounds like the power button might be stuck and the camera is going into the start up and shut down cycle over and over. Or...possibly the battery might have been damaged and is not suppling enough amperage to keep the camera running.

about digital camera's

is there a digital camera that uses a usb port on the computer
Generally all cameras have USB connection on them. Some have special cables designed to only work with that particular camera. The benefit to having a USB connection on the camera is of course always being able to connect to your computer, the draw back is that while you are connected your camera cannot be used until you are done transferring the photos and disconnect.
A card reader is helpful in that it does not use a special cable and it frees your camera from always being needed to transfer the photos. Also there is less wear on the camera from not having to do double duty.

Is a Viewfinder a Critical feature for Sunlight Photos?

I am analyzing the purchase of a new Digital Camera. I am an amateur photographer slated to take an Australian vacation. I understand that sunlight can wreak havoc with taking good digital photographs and I don't want to miss getting great photos in the Outback and of the Barrier Reef. Should I place lots of emphasis on finding one with a viewfinder, or should I consider this a minor consideration?
A viewfinder is not necessarily a “Have to Have” feature. It is very helpful in situations where the LCD Screen is difficult to see. I find the looking through a viewfinder helps me compose a better shot by allowing me to concentrate on just the area of the photo without the distraction of everything going on around it.
There are Glare Reduction covers you can put on LCD Screens to help in bright sunlight and fold out shades that attach to the screens. Any of these can help, but still are not a perfect fix.
There are several Compacts that have viewfinders and many of the Advanced Digitals do. Of course all D-SLR cameras have viewfinders. I would lean toward the D-SLR ...better photos, more reliable, easier to use, longer battery life and more lens options. After all...how often are you going to get a chance to go to Australia?

Looking for a Canon with a view finder.

There is such a glare on the screen it looks like a mirror and you can't see what you are taking in the sun.
All D-SLR cameras have a view finder and some models have live view. Very few manufacturers make compact cameras that have a view finder however Canon does have several models that do. Starting with the DS1100IS found here:

Other models include the SD890IS,SD770IS, SD990IS and the new SD780IS

Which camcorder would be best for soccer, plays, dance recitals?

It would be best to look for a camcorder that has a high optical zoom. There are several that start at 25x and go as high as 60x optical. Since you may be pretty far from the action a high optical zoom will be more desirable than a high digital zoom. Digital zoom will cause artifacting and stair stepping type distortions.
You might want to look at Flash or Hard Drive for the recording media. Tape based systems are limited to 60min record time with 90min in LP mode. DvD based camcorders are around 30min plus a little more in LP mode.
There are Hybrid camcorders that record DvD and Memory Stick for optimal convenience.

Is there a two in one package with a digital camera and a video camera?

I need something that has a video camera and digital camera all in one.
If you are asking if there is a two camera bundle...none that I am aware of. If you are looking for a digital camera that takes both video and still photos, many of the compact digital cameras have a Video and Audio recording function (movie Mode). These are of limited quality but still surprisingly good, mostly of a quality with uploading as e-mail attachment in mind. Some models can record at 30fps (frames per second).
Almost all video camcorders have a photo function. The quality has improved to be as good if not better than some compacts.
If you want the quality of a D-SLR camera and still want great video look at the Nikon D90 found here:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...
It is the World’s first D-SLR with an HD movie mode. It can record cinematic-quality 24fps movie clips with sound at up to 720p HD (1280 x 720 pixels) in Motion JPEG format, enhanced by NIKKOR interchangeable lens quality and versatility

nikon s60 vs s630

worst it or not 2mp difference , and 2 x zoom , is the s60 good enough???
It all would depend on what you are wanting to do with the photos. The 12mp S630 would give you a little more cropping room and the 7x Optical zoom would be helpful in some situations. Considering that the S60 has less Zoom and Megapixels and is only few dollars difference in price than the S630, plus S630 has over twice the internal memory..I would lean toward the S630.
If you are not interested in the extra zoom and megapixels and you were to compare the S560 to the S630 the price difference is much greater. The S560 might be the better choice.
