Can Mac edit videos from hard drive camcorders?

Want to buy camera I can edit videos with my Mac with no problems. MiniDV or Hard drive?
It depends on if you want a MiniDV or Hard Drive based Camcorder.
It is not so much that the Camcorder is compatible with a Mac but that the editing software is able to use the file from the camera because most hard-drive camcorders record video in a format iMovie can’t read. The file has to be converted to a .mov file. Most Mac's should import the .avi file from ad Mini DV. For some more information on Mac's and Camcorders check out this site.
