What is the best digital camera for taking pictures of items to sell on e-bay?

I
Great question! The need quality for photos is a big factor in a successful auction on E-bay. You do have several options to work from. The BEST overall choice is a Digital-SLR Camera. Such as the Canon Digital Rebel XTi or the Nikon D40x. This type of camera gives you total control over how your photo will look. Plus you can still shoot in full auto mode if you like, just like a “point and shoot” camera. Both are at least 10 megepixle. Both come with an 18-55mm lens that will get you wide shots to show the entire item and close up Macro shots to show the detail. Using just a compact camera that only shoots in auto mode will sometimes give you a “washed out” photo due to the Flash going off when not really needed. Shooting with a D-SLR camera lets YOU decide when you want a Flash and the sensor is bigger and more sensitive to light giving you a sharper, clearer picture. Stop by you local store and try one.

I received a digital photo frame for Christmas - how do I transfer the photos already on my pc to a memory card?

First you need a Card Reader on your computer, or attach the Digital Camera to your computer and turn it on. Insert the Memory Card and open “My Computer”, find where you photos that you want to copy “TO” the card are on your computer FIRST. Highlight ALL of the photos you wish to move to the Memory Card and “Copy” (Ctrl + C). Then return to “My Computer” and look for your memory card. Usually it is called “removable media” or has the name of you camera brand next to it. Open it and Paste (Ctrl + V). When done “Right” click over the memory card and select “Eject” to remove the card safely. This should now be ready to use in your photo frame. Hope this helps.

How to view Pic's on LCD screen

I just got a Nikon 10.2Mp Digital SLR Camera for Christmas and Nothing in the user book says how to view from the LCD screen. Can anyone help out?
On the back side of the Camera (usually on the right hand side) there will be a button with a square and a triangle pointing to the right. This is the “Play Photo” button. After you have taken some photos press this button to view. After you have looked at what you want just press the “Shutter” button lightly to return to camera mode or press the play button again. If you want to view on the LCD as you are taking the photos this function is called “Live View” and not all Digital-SLR’s support this. Nikon D300 does support this function.

How do I go about puchasing a memory card for my digial camera

First you'll need to check what memory card it uses. Find the door to the memory slot. Stamped into the plastic should be the type of memory needed. SD (Secure Disk), xD (extreme Digital), CF(Compact Flash)..ect. If you do not find it there check you owners manual. If you still can not find it consult the camera associate at your nearest BestBuy Store. They can help and will have the memory card suited for you camera in store and that can be ordered on line.

How to read HD on my computer ?

I want to buy an HD camcorder working with dvd. I do not have any HD device to read HD dvds yet. My question is: can I link an HD camcorder to my regular laptop to read HD dvds on the camcorder and watch on my laptop screen ?
Thank you for your help !
In general the HD DvD format camcorders use the AVCHD format. This format is a new type of MPEG-4. The cameras come with a conversion program that allows you to view the videos on computers that do not have HD capabilities. Most cameras come with a USB 2.0 connection that lets you transfer the files to you computer. You can also use the AV out to run to your Television/Monitor and some models come with HDMI to connect to HD-TVs. Hope this helps.

Are camcorders also able to take digital pictures?

Yes. All most all camcorders take digital photos. Some store the photos to the DV Tape/DvD/Hard Drive and some have a setting for photo only and send the photos to the removable media such as a SD (Secure Disk) card. Usually there is a “Photo” button on top of the camcorder (near the zoom control) that when pushed takes the photo and saves it to the selected media. The quality of a photo taken on a camcorder is not as good as one from a compact camera and far less than one taken on a Digital-SLR.

Can I get back deleted videos?

How do I get the deleted video back?
There are Data Recovery programs available that can sometimes get these files back.
Unfortunately if you have written to the drive/memory device since they have been deleted they cannot be recovered. You can also bring the device to the Geek Squad and they can recover the files if the are not corrupted.

What is a system error?

My Camera (Carl Zeiss) Is asking me to turn the camera off and on again and I do as it told but it still asks me that. My young daughter dropped the camera and the zoom lens broke. Please tell me how to fix this without purchasing another camera.
That is a sad thing to happen, especially before the Holidays. Let’s try a few things.
1st. If it has a removable lens, take the lens off and leaving it off switch the camera on.
After a few seconds turn the camera off and re move the batteries then switch it back on again and leave it on for about 30 seconds. This will hopefully purge the internal system memory of any left over error readings. Turn it off and reattach the lens and reinstall the batteries in that order. Now make sure the lens is very securely attached to the body and switch the camera on. If you still get an error message and you have another lens, try using it. If you still get and error message then there is internal damage that a repairman must look at. If you camera has a Fixed Lens(that means a lens that is permanently attached to the body) then remove the batteries and turn the camera on and leave it on for 30 seconds then turn it off and reinstall the batteries. If none of this helps than it must be sent in for repair. Hope one of these suggestions works for you and good luck.

do i need image stablizer

In most cases it is VERY helpful to have an Image Stabilizer. Either it be on the lens or the camera body (but not both). It is not always convenient to carry a tripod with you and using an Image Stabilizer helps reduce blur in both low light conditions and when there is lots of camera movement. Some bands, such as Panasonic, have two Image Stabilizer modes. I find mode 2 to be the most useful

what's the best digital camera to buy?

I don't know. Grandma
That’s a good question with no easy answer. All brands have their loyal followers and all brands have different features that might better suit you shooting needs. If you looking for a Digital-SLR then Canon and Nikon are highly rated and generally considered as professionally preferred. If you are looking for a Compact Camera then all brands have similar features. Sony and Panasonic are some of the more durable. Lens quality is a strong factor to figure in also. Carl Zeiss (Sony) and Leica (Panasonic) are good choices.
