why the LCD says card locked ?

How can I unlock the memory card and take pictures?
Depending on which Camera Manufacture and which brand and type of memory this may vary. If it is the memory that is “Physically Locked” there sometimes is a small switch along the side or on the back, you have to look closely for it, it is VERY tiny. It may be in the “Locked” position. If it is NOT a “physical lock” then it may be locked in the “Menu Area” on your camera. Check there and switch it to “Write” or “Un-Protect” or any variation it may have. If it requests as Password and you do not know it “Formatting” the card should get ride of the password. Good Luck.

two

What product do you change from video Hi8 when they discountintues the camcoder for this item?
Digital 8 will also play back HI8 and regular 8MM Tapes. Since it is a Digital device it will also let you connect to a computer and let you upload your analog video as if it were digital. This makes it easer to preserve your older footage and improves the quality slightly.

Is there a site a can go to to key in what I am looking for?

I am trying to find a digital camera that uses 2 AA batteries, has a view finder and in camera cropping/copying. I had in camera that had in camerera cropping with my last Nikon that died and loved that feature but can't seem to find it with any other camera.
Finding a 1 camera with these 3 features may be tricky. I am researching into this and will see what I can find. The "in camera cropping" was in the Nikon Coolpix line. View finders are not a standard feature, but 2AA batteries are fairly common. Don't give up hope.

I need a camera with fast recapture from one frame to the next any recommendations.

I have a Casio Exilim EX Z4U that has what I call a slow recapture time from one frame to the next (like 9 seconds). I want a camera with quick recapture any suggestions on a fast camera? I read the question/answer about burst feature (would be good to have but bad if you needed flash but even after the burst feature has performed I would want the camera to be ready in say 1 second?) would my camera have the burst feature it is probably 5 years old?
The Casio Exilim EX Z4U does not appear to have a burst mode. The older the camera the longer the recycle time for both writing to the card and re-charge of the flash. Changing to a Digital –SLR would be best for you if your needing that quick of a turn around time. Also getting a “Speedlight” would be better than using the internal flash of the camera. Some speedlights, such as the Canon 430EX, have a Recycling Time: Approx. 0.1 to 3.7 seconds (AA-size Alkaline Batteries)/0.1 to 2 seconds (AA-size Ni-MH batteries). To go any faster than this you will have to change to a “Strobe” lighting system. This would allow you to take consecutive flash shots with out any recycle time because the Strobe Box contains several capacitors that constantly re-charge to trigger the flash. Stop by your local BestBuy and try a Digital-SLR the speed will amaze you.

I am looking for a camcorder for our church programs

I am buying a camera for our church to record our church programs to then be downloaded to a streaming website. I need a great picture, a USB for fast download. hard drive, SD card slot and a microphone input. I have gone back and forth with JVC and Sony, with the JVC 555 being the closest, but rather expensive. Can you guys suggest anything? Since I am spending church money, I really want to make the right purchase. Will also be used outside the church for youth programs.
I have done a lot of work with recording church programs, both for re-broadcast and web viewing. The JVC would be a good choice however I feel the Sony DCR-SR82 would be better in the long run. Sony’s are industry work-horses. They just last a long time. The SR42 has a 25x “Optical” zoom (very important), 60gig drive (bigger IS better) and Carl Zeiss lens (some of the BEST optics you can get). Both streaming and editing should be a breeze. The SR82 also has a Microphone Input (via Active Interface Shoe) which is getting harder to find on consumer grade camcorders. Hope this helps.

lost battery

how do I get a battery replaced?
If you do not have the old battery then check under the battery door on the camera for the Battery Model Number. It should be there. It should also be in your owners manual. If all else fails the just take the camera to your nearest store.

What is a SLR Digital Camera versus

What is a SLR Digital Camera versus
a point and shoot cam?
Great Question with a lot of answers. I’ll try to shorten it. Point and Shoot cameras are
by nature a simply to use camera. Just Point…and…shoot. Very slow on the shutter release. Very low on the creative ability. Not the best resolution due to lens and sensor size. However they are compact and easy to carry. They get that “Every Day” things that happen shot.
Digital –SLR are MUCH faster. They give YOU full control over ALL setting for complete creativity. D-SLR cameras have many lens options for unlimited zoom capability and a BIGGER sensor that give you sharper, clearer photos. PLUS D-SLR cameras are also a Point – and – Shoot camera because they have a Full Auto Mode. D-SLR cameras are bigger and slightly heaver giving you a more stable shot. There is a lot more but it does really depend on what you need the camera to do for you. Stop by your nearest BestBuy and try different cameras out. Look for the one that “Feels” right in your hand then work up from there.

Why do some photos come out greenish?

Hi,
My friend sent me a photo and it looks a light greenish. Why?
I don't know if it's a pc camera or a digital camera.
-Thanks
A greenish tint usually shows that the photo was taken under harsh florescent lighting conditions. If the camera was set to “Auto White Balance” then it may not be functioning correctly. If it was not on Auto then it may still be set to a “Pre selected” white balance setting in the menu. Digital Cameras can help correct the white balance when shooting under florescent lights by two ways. 1) Setting the camera in florescent mode in the White Balance area in the menu. 2) By using “Manual White Balancing” in the camera and pointing it at a light green color as a reference. This will compensate for the greenish cast caused by the florescent lights. NOTE: don’t forget to go back to “Auto” mode when NOT under florescent lights again.

Do you have a lay-a-way program

Sorry, we do not have a lay-a-way program at this time. If you haven’t already, try applying for a BestBuy Credit Card at your nearest store or on line.
