I am not sure if they are ALL out of production but there are still a few NEW decks available. Most of the ones I found were Sony. Do a Google search for Sony 8mm Deck and you should get the same results I did. You can also use a Digital 8 deck or camcorder to play back 8mm tapes too.
recover data from an unfinalized DVD recorded from Sony DVD handycam
I used Memorex DVD in my SOny Handycam and as a result the DVD will not finalize. It seemed to record fine but when I tried to finalize the dvd it I got Disk error C:13:02. Is there a way to finalize this DVD so that I can watch the video that was recorded on it?
If you can still play the footage on the camcorder your only choice may be to copy the footage to another recorder by the A/V (Audio Video) Cables. If you cannot see the footage than there may not be a way to recover it...there may be nothing to finalize. One other chance is to take the disk to a BestBuy and try finalizing it on one of the Sony Demo Camcorders on display.
I need a camcorder to shoot my sons racing. It can be in any format, but I would like the best image quality with a long zoom, low light capabilty, & able to capture fast moving objects for under $1000.
There are several good choices of camcorders that are in the $750-$999 range. The 3ccd camcorders will give some of the sharpest images and all have decent zooms (12x -15x). Sony's have Super Steady Shot (helpful for fast moving subjects) and good night/low light recording. All should record fast subjects well. It would be best to stop by your nearest BestBuy and look at the ones on display, see how they feel to you and look at ease of use.
It would be best to take it to your nearest BestBuy and let the Geek Squad take a look. If it can be repaired they will let you know if they can or if it will need to be sent out for repair.
Most compact cameras have a Macro setting for shooting in a close up situation so any of the compacts should work for you. When taking these types of shots lighting is an issue. If the flash on the camera fires it can wash out you photo. If this happens try covering the flash with a piece of tissue paper, this will help soften and diffuse the flash for a better photo. For the best and sharpest photos that will show the most detail it would be best to consider a entry level D-SLR camera. With this type of camera you can choose if you want the flash to be used or not and get a much better photo.
Have bought a JVC Everio camcorder, and am trying to upload a 5 min video on YouTube. I am "technically challenged" but am trying to figure this out! I have tried to use the SUPER softeware (eRightSoft), but have't a clue what I am doing wrong. Please HELP. Need step by step instructions.
I am not sure but I believe that YouTube needs a .flv format..so here goes. First..The Drag and Drop feature didn't work when I tried it. You have to go to drop file here box. Right click..add multimedia files and browse to the file you want to convert. Once you have the file selected it appears in the window with a check mark beside it. Next...going to the top of the screen you see 1. select the Output Container... here you choose the type of extension you want the file to be. The most common are .avi and .mpg but in this instance we are selecting swf or flv (flash) . Once you select this the 2. Output video codec will set itself to Flash Video and the 3. Output audio codec should set itself to mp3. If they don't' set them manually. Now select Direct Show Decode and click Encode at the bottom of the screen. When it gets done creating the file you should find it in the c:/programfiles/eRightSoft/SUPER/OutPut folder. Good Luck and Hope this works for you.
There are 2 types available on line and in some stores. 8mm works in 8mm, High 8 and Digital 8 Camcorders. And a Digital MiniDV for MiniDV. These will clean the heads of camcorders in most cases. Severely dirty heads might need to be taken in to be serviced.
The Insignia NS-DCC5HB09 is a nice little starter camcorder and it is under that price range. To find out more about it follow this link:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...
or stop by your nearest BestBuy and take a look at one.
Sony camcorders have some of the best Night Shot features. In addition to Steady Shot, Wide Angle lens adapters, and other “Goodies”. One model..the DCR-DVD810 ..records to DvD...or 8gig internal memory...or Memory Stick. This way your never at a lose for some where to record to. Pretty cool. I just purchased the canon DC 320. When using the DVD-RW can you delete scences while the dvd is till in the camera without losing the rest of your recording? Like you can in the old Hi 8 cassettes. This would be before initializing the dvd to watch on your dvd player.
You should be able to do in camera editing...but this might only work on -RW disks. Check in you owners manual for Editing and Erasing Footage. If you don't have the manual you should be able to download a PDF version from the Canon site here: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/c...
