Macro Close Up shots

What camera would you recommend for taking close ups. I need a good one in a low to medium price range in order to take online selling pictures.
Most compact cameras have a Macro setting for shooting in a close up situation so any of the compacts should work for you. When taking these types of shots lighting is an issue. If the flash on the camera fires it can wash out you photo. If this happens try covering the flash with a piece of tissue paper, this will help soften and diffuse the flash for a better photo.
For the best and sharpest photos that will show the most detail it would be best to consider a entry level D-SLR camera. With this type of camera you can choose if you want the flash to be used or not and get a much better photo.

Formatting video for youtube

Have bought a JVC Everio camcorder, and am trying to upload a 5 min video on YouTube. I am "technically challenged" but am trying to figure this out! I have tried to use the SUPER softeware (eRightSoft), but have't a clue what I am doing wrong. Please HELP. Need step by step instructions.
I am not sure but I believe that YouTube needs a .flv format..so here goes. First..The Drag and Drop feature didn't work when I tried it. You have to go to drop file here box. Right click..add multimedia files and browse to the file you want to convert. Once you have the file selected it appears in the window with a check mark beside it. Next...going to the top of the screen you see 1. select the Output Container... here you choose the type of extension you want the file to be. The most common are .avi and .mpg but in this instance we are selecting swf or flv (flash) . Once you select this the 2. Output video codec will set itself to Flash Video and the 3. Output audio codec should set itself to mp3. If they don't' set them manually. Now select Direct Show Decode and click Encode at the bottom of the screen. When it gets done creating the file you should find it in the c:/programfiles/eRightSoft/SUPER/OutPut folder. Good Luck and Hope this works for you.

how clean the head of a camcorder

There are 2 types available on line and in some stores. 8mm works in 8mm, High 8 and Digital 8 Camcorders. And a Digital MiniDV for MiniDV. These will clean the heads of camcorders in most cases. Severely dirty heads might need to be taken in to be serviced.

Need a camcoder for over seas

I'm looking for a camcorder that can film at night with out light, that is digital, can store a lot of memory and all in all has the most gagets.
Sony camcorders have some of the best Night Shot features. In addition to Steady Shot, Wide Angle lens adapters, and other “Goodies”. One model..the DCR-DVD810 ..records to DvD...or 8gig internal memory...or Memory Stick. This way your never at a lose for some where to record to. Pretty cool. Canon DC320

I just purchased the canon DC 320. When using the DVD-RW can you delete scences while the dvd is till in the camera without losing the rest of your recording? Like you can in the old Hi 8 cassettes. This would be before initializing the dvd to watch on your dvd player.
You should be able to do in camera editing...but this might only work on -RW disks. Check in you owners manual for Editing and Erasing Footage. If you don't have the manual you should be able to download a PDF version from the Canon site here: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/c...

I TOOK OVER 200 PICS AND WENT TO TRANSFER THEM TO MY COMPUTER AND NOT IT SAYS CARD NOT ITINIZED WHAT HAPPEN? DID I LOSE ALL THOSE PICS?

If you can see the photos on the camera then they should still be good. If you are using a card reader connected to the computer by USB there might be a problem with the reader and/or cable. Try connecting by using the camera directly with the supplied cable. And the reverse might be true...if you only have this problem when connecting using the camera...put the memory card in the card reader or printer (if it has a card slot). Another possibility is that the photos were stored on the internal memory of the camera (if it has internal memory) and not the removable media. If this is the case...there should be a copy to memory setting in the menu area some where. Note: If this is a MiniDV Camcorder and not a Digital Camera and you used the Photo button on top of the camcorder then the photos may have been recorded to the tape and not the memory.
I have had success in using file recovery programs on memory cards to recover photos, but until you know what is going on I suggest you don't use that memory card to minimize file lose. If you saw on the counter that the camera was counting pictures and you could scroll through them then the memory didn't need formated. The camera should have informed you in some way before the first photo was taken if it needed to format the card. If none of the above suggestions bring the photos up you can take the camera and the memory card to the Geek Squad and have them check it out...they really are pretty good.

What is the best camera for action shots of sports

-what is the best and most simple camera for sport and action shots
D-SLR cameras are best for sports photography. In addition to the camera body the 2 useful lenses are the stock lens that usually comes with the unit...a 28-70mm ... and a 70-300mm lens. You will need the larger lens zoom for getting the tight shots from across the field/court. Entry level D-SLR cameras such as the Nikon 40D, the Canon XTi and the Sony a200 will get the job done but you will find the Burst mode lacking and too slow for action shots, commonly about 3 seconds and only up to 5 shots and then you have to wait for the buffer to clear before shooting again. The higher semi-pro cameras will have a burst mode of up to 6 seconds and almost continual shooting. I am the staff photographer for a semi-pro football team and have shot with the Canon 40d and Sony a700, both cameras have done great.
