Basically Plasma is a gas cel that is electrically charged to give off light and change color and LCD is Liquid Crystal Diodes that are back lit by a light to see the colors. Plasma use more electricity are heavier and produces more heat.
Lookin for a 50in+ hdtv, 1080p minimum 120hz under $2,100.00 for my PS3 and xbox 360. Which type of tv would be ideal for gaming, plasma or lcd??? thanx in advance
Plasma seems to be the choice in color reproduction and refresh rate for fast moving action. The draw back is that Plasma is a little more vulnerable when it comes to long exposure screen burn in.
i HAVE JUST PURCHASED A KODAK Z981 DIGITAL CAMERA. i NEED TO BUY A MEMORY DISC. i DON'T DO VIDEOS AND DO NOT NEED PROFESSIONAL QUALITY . WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD FIT.
Will heat from fireplace harm lcd if mounted above?
I have a ventless firelog in my fireplace and would like to mount an lcd tv above it. There is a mantel that is 8 inches deep. If I mount the tv above it will the heat generated by the firelog harm the tv?
That may be a lot to ask of any TV. This could cause warpage of the screen if the heat is excessive. Not only do you have the heat rising in front of the TV but also heat from the wall behind. TV's, especially LCD TVs, like cool air circulation. I would test the area first with a outdoor thermometer hung above the fire place. Then check the max operating temp of the TV your want to place there.
It is the same camera. Some sites call it a DX...some just call it a D5000. Some call it the DX when they have it as a package with a bag...extra lens...ect.
What is a good camara for shooting lots of movement?
Going on a cruise to Alaska and want a camara that will take pictures of the whales jumping (hopefull) and animal moving; want to capture as mutch as possible. And it needs to be pretty easy to use.
A Digital-SLR camera would be best, especially for a trip like this. You will have better lenses, bigger sensor with more color ad resolution and bust mode to catch all the action. Battery life is longer on a Digital-SLR camera too. The "Burst" mode is what will shoot the sequence action shots your looking for.
